PCGS Return Unboxing Part:2 What did they GRADE?

hi everyone welcome back to Billy easy prospector I got my first shipment back from PCGS wanted to take time to do an unboxing a pretty grading of my Rock coins before I sent them off to try to determine what these points were going to grade I was pretty sure what types of grades I was gonna get on some of these and not quite sure on the other ones I thought I was pretty good at grading some of these and I did some comparisons online to coin facts some other online resources to take a look and see what we could get back I thought it was pretty good I couldn't wait unfortunately I was on vacation when my coins came back I got a my alert email from PCGS notifying me that the graded so I thought I would go ahead and wait but unfortunately I'm impatient and I was unable to wait that long so I was able to take a look at some grades I was not necessarily satisfied what what some of these came back at but what I one do is to take the opportunity to show you what I did get back and let you Altima take a look at them because I would hope that you guys watch my first video first before watching the unboxing here and with that see if you were better than I was hopefully you were and you spotted some things that I didn't so here we go for one I'm actually happy that I got this pre slap holder I like these I like keeping my slapped coins in these if you look though guys yes we got every single coin slab so we know right off the bat that we've got full authentication throughout all of them and we'll go from there you recall on some of these hopefully they kept these in orders 1 through 17 I sent out 17 coins we won't necessarily worry about that but I'll be interested to look at that later on the paperwork and I want to take an option here for you to hopefully you can go about these so I'm going to turn this camera around and we'll get to this hopefully not make this too long a video and I promise you boys and girls I will get better at this whole filming thing for you guys all right first we had the 1950s I went with the gold shield often again I bought these coins at AMS 66 to 67 here we go got my coin back I was really hoping that these were gonna be MS 66 to a 67 and what did I Altima lis end up at Wow ms-64 really unhappy with that this put this coin I think dollar-wise right about $12 population's 104 higher graded above that's 1869 still slabbed as I got the resolution photos back I'm gonna have to figure out a better way to look at these through some type of magnification to maybe select better coins I'd really thought this was gonna be better about this at a coin show for about what I thought was a reputable dealer had long time experience grading coins he graded this a 67 maybe due to the color but this PCGS graded is 64 next we had the 1936 I thought this one was gonna do the same about this as a 66 to a 67 really thought we were gonna do pretty good here but guys we did even worse ms 63 on that coin what the heck I just you know don't know apparently I'm gonna have to do some again better magnification on these coins figure out what the heck I'm doing here I thought I was a pretty good grader at Lincoln cents I got my Lincoln Cent collection going this isn't gonna help out that question at all it's a it is a read it is in a mint state but guys it's supposed to this point five dollars I paid over $70 for this coin population 27 graded higher three thousand seven twenty one we've got to do better we've got to go on this that's not gonna cut it next one I sent off this was a coin that was given to me by my grandfather I thought you know this was gonna be a killer knock out of the park coin ms-64 five six gonna be a five to six-hundred all our coin look what they gave this thing questionable color uncirculated detail what is questionable about this color I don't know if we can see that I don't know what's questionable about it guys do you see something I'm not seeing what makes that coin questionable it looks like a freaking copper cent oh I you know had no money wrapped into this I think my grandfather paid a nice premium on this coin again paid $45 ahead of graded but hey at least we know we have a authentic 1899 Lincoln Cent I think gotta do better got to do better next we had our 1917 Standing Liberty coin and I would like to have thought we did pretty good on this guy as well I'm sorry just don't do my notes here again strike out I feel on the first couple coins guys first three coins and we are not doing so hot so 1917 okay these are the ones I bought an eBay I thought you know for sure we're gonna do pretty good on these coins I thought you know I'm buying these at like a fine five or ten I'm doing pretty good these coins I thought they were all gonna grade ya gonna grade at Lisa bf 35 that's where I thought most these coins were gonna come out based on what my experience was with them so 1917 again thinking we're gonna knock this one on the park do pretty good what do we end up with what the Frick pull Todd Hoffman on there what the Frick PCGS genuine okay we got a real coin but unfortunately they were able to identify that this coin here was cleaned I was unable to detect that apparently very difficult to do online though I'll tell you that much so guys buyer beware be very careful buying off of ebay if these points are not pregrated free slabbed and even if they're slabbed be careful on to the next one 19:17 d this is the coin I got from Liberty coin on a business trip out to California I felt pretty confident that this it was kind of cool had some really cool rainbow toning around the outer perimeter of the coin on the reverse the reverse a little bit of color on the backside but what I didn't notice look above the America can you pick that up there's like some fine scratches above the America and I think because of those they dubbed this graffiti what the graffiti where am I not picking up graffiti I don't know if it was graffiti because underneath her arm there there's some you know heavy mark underneath her arm man I did not do a good job on picking this coin paid like 40 bucks for it man okay already look at that Wow five coins they graded a graffiti coin surprising slab that five coins deep and I'm not doing crap really turning me off really not doing good I don't know what I'm gonna do from here I'm thinking this one it's pretty much a bust into the nineteen seventeen s again this coin I thought you for all all these standing liberties I thought were gonna fall into this parameter of you know an okay XF 40s really what I was hoping to get out of all these coins just let's get to it gotta find twelve even in a fine twelve oddly enough this coin in a fine twelve was still bringing $110 guys population forty higher graded above that's a thousand sixty nine paid about sixty bucks for it so finally we're making some ground so there you go up next 1919 Standing Liberty stain story on this one what are we gonna get hey here we go the X f40 that's what I was looking to get out of mostly standard liberties that's why bottom on eBay raw ungraded I'm predetermined what they were gonna be it's got some nice toning on the outer perimeter just like the previous 1917 D that we were gonna get this is what I was looking forward to this coin is worth ninety five dollars for the PCGS website population forty seven population higher 1166 after striking out on the first five I was really nervous on the 1921 I said man if I pay $300 on this coin on eBay no returns allowed I'm really taking a huge risk on this coin super nervous not really sure what we were gonna get out of this understanding that I struck out in the first view again took the risk I had to do it what did this coin grade alright the f-35 1921 one again one of the more rare coins of the set even in a VF 35 this is crazy VF 35 this coin is $700 at current market price population is 86 only 994 coins graded higher than a BF 35 by PCGS was pretty pretty surprised about that that one makes up for quite a bit I think it might have put me all in you know what this coin is worth not necessarily what I paid for it but about what I paid to have all these coins graded and buying a membership to PCGS so there's a start thank God that this was not freaking damaged rafi deed questionable cleaned what else we got or let's just call it a good good for surprise it didn't give me that okay keep this moving on not to take too long if you can already see this one okay 1923 looking good got into X f40 that's what I was expecting thankfully that one did pretty good except for T on this one guys most at about the $69 mark and population of 27 population higher 2252 again reference my other video previously before sitting this up I gave a little bit more detail on ease up next is a 1931 s buffalo-head coin thought that this one was gonna be something that was gonna do pretty good turns out X f40 I was kind of shocked by that the coin I don't think I paid too much I can't remember for this quantum if I go back and look and keep reference on all this on my spreadsheets but puts this coin about worth $32 population 48 population higher 4343 there's a lot of these guys rolling around but I got one that's a except 40 so there you go up next is the 1938 D I got this one because I thought that this one looked pretty good once I got the close-up pictures back from PCGS I realized wow I need to do a better job at looking at these coins again better magnification I'm using a loop that's maybe a 30 power loop I don't think it's powerful enough I need to get something closer this coin came back at an au 55 oh the heck coins worth $10 Wow I can retire I don't have to work anymore awesome okay I'm just gonna get to it on this one this is a 1908 half this was actually the quarter 1908 25 cent piece barber not too bad I got a VF 35 I'm have to go back and reference to see if that's what I bought this coin at because if I can recall I think I got this coin it was a fine plus so yeah very fine I think I paid about 45 bucks and look at this just to make sure because I'm not sure what this coin is reference that this was this coin at thirty five sixty two dollars population there's only four of these obviously people aren't sending in these quarters to get a VF 35 then get a sixty two dollar coin so population for ya a 104 population higher only 362 so not a real high variety coin of this year of this particular 25 cent variety okay guys help me out with this one remember bought these this one off of Craigslist from a pretty young kid figured he got it from his parents it's the 1830 I just wanted to get a nice old coin verify that it was you know original but what did I get PCGS genuine okay good got a genuine coin but tooled was tooled mean I got told that's what I think I'm thinking on the back here if I can pick it up I think I had some minimal scratches under the wings maybe it's on the right wing right there I think if you can see it hopefully that right there picks it up for you I think there was enough scratches on that right wing underneath it that that's what they're deeming is tooled may be above the left wing right there you can kind of see a little bit of maybe tooling that they were talking about I have no freaking clue I just know that it's not gonna be worth near as much help me value this coin guys same thing with that 1899 are these coins even valuable that they're genuine it's tooled very fine details what is this coin even worth then am I just am I told aka screwed what does it mean questionable quarter is there is there any value in those two points I don't know help me out here okay next one this was in addition to that 1830 half-dollar here's an 1876 half-dollar again just one to send it in validate that it was original all as well I got a fine twelve so hey at least we didn't get a clean we didn't get something weird that puts this coin roughly about sixty-five dollars population being eight so here is one of eight does that make it rare I don't think so because population above it graded higher 687 I'd I'd be willing to spend a hundred dollars and get a little bit better grade than a fine twelve but you know guys again there's collectors for every range some people are putting together now collections for the lowest possible grade so people are putting together collections out of G for they're putting together like the ugliest set possible maybe that'll be in someone's collection someday not mine next nineteen 12s this coin was also bought in unison with the Liberty coin group and paid about forty five hours for this one too I believe and oh wow cleaned fine details I just wanted to authenticate this coin is all I thought it looked cool to me because of the the black toning around it from the color stuff like that clean I couldn't tell I was cleaning or less the color around the stars there I've emailed Liberty coin and asked them if they back these coins up again this I bought these about a year ago I don't know if they're gonna do anything cleaning is hard cuz I could have cleaned it after the fact and they wouldn't know right so I don't expect him to do that but the one that was damaged if you will I don't know if they'll back that up because they didn't sell to me as damage and it's showing you graded as damage so we'll see if they come back on it again here's the final two guys the Morgan dollars they picked up for $10.50 this is the 1889 I thought these were gonna grade right around a 63 sixty-four boom 63 there you go just happy to have them I like Morgan dollars any grade I don't care what they are I just like Morgan dollars those are cool that puts us quite about 65 bucks people I think are willing to go with that all day long so because I only paid $10 for these I'm up a little bit not much I just think they're cool probably gonna hold on to them here's the other one God has graded 61 MS hey at least it's not cleaned or anything weird it's worth 50 bucks all day long population 690 population higher forty thousand nine hundred and twelve that one there on that 18 19 at a 63 that's part of the higher grade population 19,000 ninety-four population higher than that those only 16,000 forty-one so there you go guys hey hope you enjoyed this hopefully this is mini to come I don't think this is really deter be enough because I got that one coordinates for 700 bucks that kind of made me Jones and got me back into it a little bit I don't think this is gonna be my last official send-off I think I want to do many more I just love coins I love coin collecting hope you do leave some comments I would love to kind of keep this going kind of keep an open thread I will
