if you have your bodies open up to Exodus 34 will not be our primary text by way of introduction you know I know that probably a lot of people here tonight believe themselves to be Christians and maybe many are Christian and that's good maybe some of you have invited friends who not heard much about Christianity except for what they might get in the media and so I'm gonna try to be sensitive both those those things you hear tonight and you don't really understand what what is Christianity all about or if you're here and you want to be someone who goes forth and spreads Christianity I think that the need is the same you see most of the vimana lives in the church today or let's not say the church most of the maladies in evangelicalism today because most of what is called evangelicalism or great relevant is not even Christian and most of what is called the church is not the church but the problem in evangelicalism today is it's not that the immature believers do not understand the gospel it's that most pastors don't understand the gospel we saw a film that just literally broke my heart here of of a young man reciting Muslim Creed and becoming Muslim what you have to understand the Muslim faith is an external faith internal matters are really not an issue theologically in the Muslim faith it is about outwardly expressing the cream and outwardly doing the things that are commanded of you but you see the superficial gospel in America I mean has done the same thing if we were to stop this begging to help go out to every tavern and but wherever we are and go to just some horrific places and asked people if they wanted to know Jesus most of them are at least many of them would say oh I know Jesus what do you mean oh don't worry about me I prayed that prayer I said that thing I did it I prayed the sinner's prayer I asked Jesus into my heart I'm a Christian where did that come from it came from coal pits it came from coal pits with men standing behind those pulpits who do not understand the gospel of Jesus Christ the core problem in American Christianity or American evangelicalism is that the gospel has been lost and along with it the power of the gospel has been you know I travel in a lot of places around the world and I I can tell you the church in China they have a few things that they warn their members about they don't one of them it's American missionaries you don't get around them I can take you to places in Africa same thing we talked about having doing missions it's America let me ask you a question what part of your box a lot to be exported and what part of your gospel ought to be plenty your piety do you really want to give that to somebody else I mean your godliness would you even want your worst enemy to have that you met your family life your marriage if freedom our bondage to sexual immorality would you want someone else to have it your sensuality would you really want to explore all that I don't want most Americans to go to the mission field I do not what to spread the very thing that's been threats pred through every of the fifth every one of the 50 states in America where you can't have a church once you can entertain everybody you can't have Church unless you're cool you can't get it out of the ring unless you're modern tell you something if the person of Jesus Christ it's not the adhesive that Bond's you to the Christian faith you are not Christian and it's not some I fell in love with Jesus type thing that terminology is negative and it is not an undefined Jesus but a biblical Jesus if that is not if that's not the thing that glues you distinction to your faith your faith is what it's the experience Christ with the Christ of the Bible and knowing that you experience the Christ of the Bible because you know the Bible having met him you go on with him I was asked myself this question what part of my gospel up to be exported what part off to be quarantined what part of my personal devotion to prostitute ought to be exported what is it that has been done in my life that I wish had been done in others my marriage what I want that exported a quarantine long thought life what I want that exported quarantined way I raise my children should that be exported quarantine I was they have said this when we came into the presence of the Living God and Isaiah 6 and that is according to John chapter 12 he saw their Jehovah beeps all Yahweh and the Yahweh he saw was the son the second person of the Trinity has always been the mediator between God and men when he saw that son among them on that throne he said I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell among the people down clean lips that was the first thing he had to understand to be a useful instrument of Christ I want you to know something and I'm going to talk at this moment before I get on with my sermon I just needed to say this I'm gonna say something I want you to realize it is going to sound so hard and it is going to make some of you so and grow but the generation from which you come is a week generation a filthy generation a generation of privileged brats and whiners but there was nothing of a character no understanding of the truth no understanding of absolutes no wonder said yes you can wear Christian t-shirts and you've been singing about I'm crucified but Jesus gets so full of self and so full of your culture you look more like a GQ magazine than you do what the Scriptures teach you're just so cool and you're just so privileged and you're just so many things that God will not use the only way this young generation of American Christians don't have it you know it's the only way anything could ever be used magnificent I want you to realize there isn't a whole lot about you that ought to be explored and I wouldn't want those to be young people to go to Mission feet I wouldn't rather that you get on your face before God but rather that you spend years in the scriptures its emissions is not about sending missionaries there's more missionary activity in the world today and most of it is rock missions is not about sending missionaries it is about sending God's truth biblical truth through missionaries is it a very large conference a few months ago gigantic partners and I mean the preaching was so good I wasn't preaching it was so good and all of these young people came up to to where I was standing at the table that I was watching and they were just so fired up I want to go to the mission field we were going to the mission field I said penal substitution this is what I said penal substitution they were talking about substitutionary atonement tell me about it I'll give you five minutes oh no don't cover the mission sheet do you think that are being hard let me give you another bit of the stretch here civility young men called me when I was in Peru he was in the States he said mr. washer I'm gonna clean down crew work with you I said okay we'll tell me what do you know about the scriptures well scripture is not like it's not you know I'm not really but I just won't give my life away I said talk to me about intercessory prayer he said well you know I'm you know I'm not the wash I just want to give my life away I said young man there's no one here who needs your love the people here need someone who can open up their mouth and tell them about God or either open up their mouth and tell God about them any truth the very thing that your generation hates the very thing your generation says doesn't even exist even it was Christian quote/unquote circles now having said that back up for a second I do want people to go to the mission field don't you realize it is not your right it's a privilege for those who want to be able to now if you're here tonight and you don't know what all this Christianity is about and you're a pretty much a secular person then then a lot of the things you heard in the first sermon and in the videos you should if you follow the logic logical train of thought you should think that many of the things that's been said here tonight are very immoral very twisted very bad hello Steve I mean you heard about a goddess jealous you heard about a God who who condemns people to help you heard about this group isn't right and that group isn't right this is bad we're right in they're wrong you heard all these things I don't agree with them but as I go through this thing on the gospel I hope that the Spirit of God will work that your mind will work and you'll begin to see the reason for some of the things that have been said now I want us to look just for a moment in Ezekiel and of Exodus chapter 34 now to give you some backdrop of this passage Moses had been widely used of God I mean other than person Christ there's probably no greater redemptive act in history than the deliverance of Israel from Egypt and Moses was the prime mediator in that work we know that well for you young missionaries and those of you who want to be pastors or are pastors look at this he was the most mightily used man of God on the planet and yet it left him Holland it wasn't enough it never is I don't care how big your name becomes or how much people know you if that can fill you you are not Christian God will work in such a way in your life you'll work in such a way in your life that no matter what has accomplished in ministry it will not be not only God's presence it's enough I have a question for outfitted when I drove here tonight there was a guy out there standing on a street corner with a sign that said Jesus is Lord did he happen to wander in here tonight see here okay man I want to get on my horse away praise God I just stand out there in the street Jesus is Lord repent or perish and what could make him in do that either he's insane or or you know some enough to risk let's go on Moses's minister it's not enough and he says Lord show me your glory I'm getting so off the point that there's so much to be said here show me your glory not give me power for ministry not use me use me use me Lord it's almost a prayer like this Lord used someone else give the family someone else let someone else have their legacy in history let me see you and so we have the case here it says in verse pada 34 the Lord descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the Lord then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed the Lord the Lord God compassionate and gracious slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness and truth who keeps loving-kindness for thousands who forgives iniquity transgression and sin yes he will be he will by no means leave the guilty unpunished visiting the iniquity of father's on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations now when we want to understand what Christianity is all about we have to understand that Christianity begins with God all the blessing and all the problems of everything feel logical comes down to this who is God that's the number one question that's why God said to Jeremiah Richmond shouldn't boast in their wealth and strongmen in their strength or even wise men in their wisdom who boasted most in this that he knows me now this is one of the great problems in our world today God is not known God has not known now God has made himself known Romans chapter one is very clear about that God has made himself known but man is a hiding man who hides from the knowledge of God who does not want God the God has made himself known the man is refused that now to understand the gospel you must understand the attributes of God who he is that's what it really comes down to and here's the problem I'll talk to most seminary students Bible Institute students things like that I'll say your three years of training how many years did you study the attributes of God most of them say well I had a systematic theology course for about four months well in that how much did you study after in Chicago a couple of weeks okay and each day a fundamental problem there we had all these Christians all these people complaining of God they do not know and because they do not know him biblically they cannot proclaim him biblically to the congregation so you have a congregation out there who's basically doing what making of God in their own image as our brothers share with us that's why Sunday morning is the greatest hour of idolatry in the entire week because we had a bunch of people worshiping a god that is conformed to the way they think God ought to be and you throw in the fact that no one studies logic anymore and you've got all kinds of crazy ideas Oh God and then you throw in the fact that most people their entire mindset and worldview is shaped by folly would go to Hollywood and try to is Hollywood known for its morality all right how many pH knees are in Hollywood did you see what I'm trying to say we are a people even you out there right now you are shaped by this media this this this monstrous pennington of babbling ignorance and so you put all that together lack of biblical knowledge of God wild views that contradict every principle of classical logic and you'd let a bunch of people believing all kinds of crazy things about God so we have to go back to the scriptures who is God if we're speaking with a Muslim you're gonna wrangle about peripheral things even if I'm I'm talking to a Buddhist I'm talking to anyone I'm going to go right back to the heart of the matter who is God can you tell someone can you tell someone who God is could you talk to them about the love of God but could you talk about them talk to them about the love of God without violating the doctrine of God's justice could you explain the on the presence of God and the holiness our separateness can you explain that God loves and God hates and bring them together you see there's our problem no not something everyone ought to be a theologian well everyone is a theologian it's just some are very but if you have ideas about God you are a theologian but I'm not saying that you all ought to have PhDs but what I'm saying is if you went back 200 years ago to New England you would find the girls walking around who had more knowledge of classical theology than those pastors today that is true it's not an exaggerated statement because we are not a people who really care about propositional truth we care about feelings we care about what's right for us we use emotionalism in our own Lodge to motivate our sounds of use of emotional ism and entertainment to coerce other people we've got to get back to the truth because what really matters is what is what is real we don't do that we're just like a blind man in a pitch-black closet chasing the black cat that's not there we're just running around in circles here we have God revealing some very important things to us about him look what it says now first of all in verse 6 then the Lord passed by in front of him in front of Moses and proclaimed the Lord the Lord God whoever this gaudiest is the only one and he's Lord absolute this is not committee this is not democracy at work this is absolute fortune it's well actually in the Greek New Testament Jesus is called a tyrant absolute wardship he created us we belong to him period that's just the point you say you need to understand you were raised in a generation where young people say you know well I don't have to obey you I didn't ask to be born into this world and I don't know you anything you say the fact of the matter is Bible says there is a God and He is Lord now it says some other things about him it says that he's compassionate that's good thing as something pleasing to our years that he's compassionate and that he's gracious it's very gracious very kind also it says this about him that he is slow to anger and here's something you need to understand he is slow to anger but anger is mentioned it doesn't say he's not or never gets angry let's see that's what the modern media tells you today ISM he never gets angry no scripture says he's slow and that's a good thing and then he goes on and it says abounding in loving kindness and truth and here's something about God that I want you to understand we want to talk about this later as a matter of fact I may change around a little bit and this whole week and just go through this whole idea of what it's the gospel but I want you to look at something when we talk about the perfection of Jesus Christ we're not simply talking about separate attributes or separate aspects of his character and all of them being perfect now we do mean that but we mean more than not only does eat is each distinct attribute perfect but they all work together perfectly one attribute is not exaggerated over another one attribute is not denied in order to manifest another so we don't see that in men and women do it even in good men and good we see exaggerated things for example you'll have one preacher who is has the gift of mercy and we need those types of people but sometimes he's exaggerated in his gift of mercy so that he never preaches righteousness are we having a preacher of righteousness he's a little shy nurse to see in God we not only have these perfect attributes but we have these attributes that come together perfectly one existing without the violation of the other it's kind of when you look at the incarnation of God in the person of Christ he was God and man two natures two natures without confusing those two natures without one nature swallowing up the other he was perfectly God perfectly man God is perfectly loved and perfectly just and you see if you get into a problem and you don't go with this as the Scriptures do when you do not teach all the attributes of God and that's a big problem today this man you don't hear about a lot of the attributes of God they're never preached there's even some preachers who say God's not called me to preach on that aspect but you can't understand the other aspects apart from the whole you're saying I remember one time I was preaching in a church and I preached on the holiness of God and after the sermon I walked back and some men men at the door they were very angry I said what is the problem they said you preached the entire night on the holiness of God and not once did you mention the we got a problem with you I said were you here last night they said yeah I said I preached last night about the love of God and not once did I mention the holiness of God and you didn't have a problem with that so the tables have turned and now I have a problem with you you see they go together and that's what I want you to see you see we're we're a culture we are a people who we grab the part we like you can't do that in Christianity you can't take Jesus as Savior and not forward you can't take God's love without God's wrath if you truly are Christian you wouldn't want to let me just share with you something sometimes people ask me would you preached on that two beats of God I've told the pastor a long time ago we need to be a little careful I don't want to split your church Christians who want you to teach on God what do you need I said as I begin to teach on the attributes of God and I get to his absolute sovereignty I get to his justice and His Holiness you're gonna have some of your most long-term members standing up saying that's not my god I could never love God like that and storming out of a church exactly that's not my god but Israel God biblical is your God now I want to get to the very core of the gospel here and it's extremely important brothers and sisters that that you understand this we shown you and it's throughout all the scripture but it comes out here and in a piston not exaggerating but an amplified way the greatest problem in the scripture which is the core of the gospel it is the heart of the gospel it is the Acropolis of the gospel what is it look with me in verse 7 who keeps loving-kindness for thousands who forgives iniquity transgression and sin when you get into the fee blue line and you see something of a repetition you know we have it here he says iniquity transgression and sin look what's going on in the mind of the hebrew writer is he's heaping one term upon another god forgives all kinds of sin every sin every kind of scene okay this is nothing beyond his forgiveness yes this is where the problem starts he will by no means leave the guilty unpunished now let's put on our thinking caps if you sin you're guilty so he forgives you and yet by no means leaves you unpunished right there it's where we find the foundation the pillars of the gospel it is the great now I'll leave you there and come back around and face this in a minute I want you to look at something from a completely different angle well possibly an angle at least that you've never looked at before I was over in Europe of years ago and I was preaching in a secular I guess since there was a secular University I guess I was giving a lecture and they were loaded for bear they had come to eat Puritans for the night they were waiting for me and the auditorium was pretty much packed out and everyone's thinking here is this you know what would you call me this sociological dinosaur has appeared at the university with all these archaic Puritan Jonathan Edwards type thoughts you know and so I'm praying what do I do I mean what do I do I don't just want to walk out there preach and boast about being martyred I want to help these people we want them to see and they know that only the Spirit of God can reveal these things to men but still there is a means of human means Lord what do I do because I'm walking out there on a flat on the Lord always seems to wait to the last moment it just don't know I said I'm going to share with you tonight the most terrifying truth that could ever be conceived in the mind of a thinking man I'm going to go to the scriptures and teach you something so horrific that before I do I'm warning you so that you might spare yourself and leave the auditorium at this moment well needless to say I had their attention and then I said are you ready the most horrifying truth in Christianity are you ready here it is God it's good there was a moment of silence certain moments of silence and then kind of one person looking at another person and then sort about relaxing and snickering and then someone was bold enough to say what's so terrifying about that let's know terrifying about the truth that God is good and the answer is this we were not prepared what does God do with someone like you that is what the gospel is all you see this is the universal the cosmic I think get any bigger this is the problem of problems it's a greater problem there's no problem that exceeds this one if God is good what does he do with you now we can look at this from the legal standpoint that we can also look at this from an experimental standpoint legally if God is good he's righteous and if he's righteous he simply cannot be the lord of the universe and the judge that evolved who lives he cannot simply pass over your crimes if he done us he's not good so that presents a problem but then there's another problem in in modern at least secular man with his kind of idea of God as this God who does just lets everybody in now where everybody goes to a heaven that's just what they want you're gonna have a rule when everybody gets there or you're going to have to create a whole bunch of little individual animals you see the main problem here is you and I want to be sovereign we want God to be the way we want him to be we want things to be the way we want them to be do you know what's gonna change when you get all these people that have ever lived into some sort of new heaven and earth they will tear the thing apart at the seams I mean think for a moment about the things that they're saying a pluralistic society as it is defined today it can't exist because everybody's wanting something completely different and eventually you have the ruler on your hands unless government steps in and becomes God and makes everyone conform bit machine you can't escape it there's a sovereign he's got to be out there somewhere and in order to have peace everybody has to conform to this sovereign now you can say I hate that in God and throw him away but then you've got to replace it with something else government some ism humanism communism socialism you've got to throw something in there people have to submit and so you see you've got all these problems let's go back to the core issue here the core issue is god is good god is just God is without sin and now there's two ways of looking at this first of all if God were a sinner like us it would be absolutely terrifying I mean we say that somewhere know grab salute power corrupts absolutely you put that kind of power in the hands of some being that is not pure that is not holy and you've got help this is terrifying an absolute ruler who is not good so on one hand when we hear that God is good absolutely good absolutely pure absolutely loving and everything else that makes us excited until I looked mirror all right he's good I'm not he's loving I'm self-centered I can't get off my wife my children my friends my co-workers all these different things you know here's something else I want you to understand if he is really good she really loves all that is good I mean really loves all this God he really hates even he really does I mean what would you want to God who did not hate evil and ask you that question never be frightened first of all if you said yes you'd also be hypocritical I'll explain to you why how would you like what would you think of a man if I walked up to him and I said uh what do you think about Auschwitz Nazi Germany slavery in America what do you think about that because well I'm a pretty neutral on it I don't think it was that big a deal I mean you know people have their ways of doing things now it wouldn't be far-fetched for me to logically assume this man's immoral he's neutral he's not angry he has no indignation when I mentioned outwits Nazi Germany he has no indignation he doesn't think that slavery in America was necessary bad thing and everybody's up in arms for nothing it's just neutral about it what would I think about a man like that I would think that he himself is it warmer now you know you'd open up a newspaper you find out that some child is new kidnapped for 15 years held in the basement mistreated tortured everything else and they finally find the child dying in the basement the police radio plays and they catch the man are going to pretty much the neutral about you are you like well yeah but that big a deal this I mean because people ought to be able to choose no you have the righteous indignation don't you I hope you do get burn for the injustice well if you and I as Jesus said being evil can have such indignation against evil then what what about a holy perfectly righteous God who loves all this holy he hates that which is untrue he loves all this people he hates that which is sin and slaughter Worley and all of these things are true but how do we explain for example we heard the story about their roads and men preaching here I was I was totally in agreement with what he was saying that was there's a powerful little sermon that that we've heard here this evening but I want to explain to you something the fact that God loves that crushed soil grows doesn't eliminate the fact that that person became a crushed soil rose through their sinful against him and see therein lies on a problem today no one is guilty no one is responsible for their actions a man who's an American team kills kills 14 people with a submachine gun he can talk with hook because baby was a little boy to invite a happy meal that's the way our society is and that is in you you need to understand everyone is a victim there's even the modern films with regard to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and many of them treat Judas as a victim you see that we've always got to make an excuse for the sin of sin because we want so desperately to make an excuse for ours what you need to understand about the gospel is this it is true God hates evil and his wrath is kindled against people who do evil that is you and me but here's the amazing thing about God we do not say that loves God's love is so big but that God's love is of such a nature that he is even able to work for the redemption of the objects of his hatred he declares men guilty and he declares a time when he will judge all men he declares that and yet it works to save the very end who one of the objects of his wrath and then Judas for a moment you have God looking down with the purest of purity the holiest of holiness God looks down upon us and he sees us here committing our lives and our atrocities and our thoughts and everything else this is why song saying he's a God was angry every day and yet the same inspired scriptures say for God so loved the world he gave His only Son so with one hand the hand of God's mercy he's holding back his wrath with another hand of love he's beckoning men to come but there will be again when it is over you see again you are a culture that literally you can go to school you can blow every exam not do it in the homework and in the end you can go to teacher and say to her give me something that will give me bonus points to pass the test there's coming a day when there will be no bonus points handed out there will be perfect justice and here's something that I want you to understand about the wrath of God most of you probably in middle school or the least high school you read Dante's Inferno hopefully and you have this idea of this hell where men are being almost gleefully tortured I want you to know that's a complete perversion of the biblical idea of heaven biblical idea of Hell is not a bunch of demons pitchforks gleefully torturing people what is it there's something so much did you think about when the greatest opened doors to the idea of what hell maybe it's actually Romans 1 if you look at Romans 1 you see that God turned him over now in the context of Romans 1 is talking about societies God kind of societies cultures countries over although they knew God they did not acknowledge him as God or give thanks and because of that God turned him over what did he do he let them loose soon he let them go for example we here today in America people will say you're preachers say because of our sins because of all the perversions in our country God is going to judge America that's really not true but don't get happy it's worse than that here's the way Romans 1 really goes at it Romans 1 basically says this because they had the opportunity to know God and they did not recognize him as God nor give thanks to him as God God turned them over to all these sins in these sins that they are committing are actually the judgment to bond them you see that that's why we say if we feel up to the correct not that our country will be judged in as if it just it hasn't turned over how you know that brother Paul did you get a special revelation absolutely not I know that because when you go to the end of Romans chapter one you see all the sins that results from a society being turned over every one of them is found in prominence in our culture so first of all hell is a turning of a person over to their own corruption now when I go to places like you know academic setting sir universities are just on campus or something people always come to me and they go well brother Paul what about the good a feast and I always say that in it well before I answer that question could you at least give me a discuss telephone number because I'm inherent about it everywhere over years and I've never been so note what about the good atheist here's what I want you to understand if scripture is correct I believe it is one of the reasons you're the greatest apologetics or logical reasons for which I believe because of which I believe Scripture it's because of what it says about man it's the only book that accurately describes our human history what man is capable but let's say that there is this ast hateful well if it's maybe as he can't hate God because it's enough God's a nonentity but most of the good that they've done but he's totally against this idea of God and yet he rapes his neighbor's yard during the autumn when the leaves are falling he starts up the car for the elderly lady when her battery's down all these things he's not an axe murderer or a serial killer what about young according to the scripture what you need to understand is his predicament is very very there Suvir what the only thing keeping him from being an axe murderer is his evil is being restrained by the grace of the very god he's denying in heaven on Judgment Day what you will see is the common grace of God pulled off with men the common grace of God that even restrained Hitler even Hitler was not as evil to the Christian the common grace of God that restrains the evil of all men outside of Christ will be withdrawn and you will see standing before you on that day and monstrous a revelation of what we've always truly and it will make Hitler look like a quarter and the judgment of hell is this and this is what you need to understand the judgment of hell is everyone getting exactly perfectly what they deserve damage Damascus now before I became a Christian I lived 21 years on this planet and I don't know how it was possible but in those 21 years especially in the last four before I was converted I lived like a healthy just now never murdered anyone never got on drugs got booked on drug trade just like everything inside of me was enough to start a world war 3 everything and see therein lies the great problem in American evangelicalism and in many preachers today and even many who I believe are sincerely converted they do not understand that man is involved preacher followed by his own hand there's a reason my CS Lewis said hell is locked from the inside in many places in the scripture the teaching goes that men can not come to God you probably familiar with those difficult texts where Jesus says you can't come and make now that presents a moral problem well if men can't come to God then how can God judge men it's like saying if a blind man can't read this book and friends we're throwing in prison that's unjust here's what you need to understand the Bible says man cannot come to God because man will not and man will not come to God because man hates remember Joseph's brothers it says in the book of Genesis that they could not speak a peaceable or gentle word to you now they all spoke the same language we all have the ability to speak from what we know so how is it that they could not speak to him the kind word then it says they could not speak a kind word to him because they hated him men cannot come to God because they will not come to God or they will not come to God because they hate it and they hate God because God is good and they can say why would they hate the good God because man is not I don't know I was raised in the pre just tough little brain school high school and I remember if you were a good student you got beat up we let it down most of you had the same experience you either were the good stoop you got beat up or you were like me being under that's done missing that true the student is polite to the teacher they're gonna trash him after class now that is true I know you're loving but think about that in itself as a demonstration of our able even from our childhood and what you need to understand is God sees this he sees what we are and he is righteous and he is holy and he is loving and therefore his wrath is kindled and yet in the midst of that his love is of such a nature that he works for the objects he works for the redemption of the objects of his wrath and he will continue working and continue working until the day you die or others now tomorrow when I come back what we're going to do is we're going to get to the cross and now what I want you to see is this if you don't understand this dilemma you cannot understand what the close but the greatest problem in all the Bible is this if God is good he cannot forgive you so how can a good God forgive wicked men there's only one way and that is for his justice that is kindled against them to be satisfied for justice the demands of divine justice to be centered on and how did that happen where all the demands of the law all the demands of law that says do this and Olivia did not do it you die all the demands of God's righteousness are perfectly satisfied for his people by the death of his son having suffered the wrath of God in the places see this is what Christianity is about now let's look for a moment it will happen if I'm in the Middle East or whether it's Israel or Jordan or whatever it is here's here's for the battleground games it is in any case out of the go and I will say where it's just a satisfied what do you mean I thought you said God's holy yeah God's righteous yes what does he do about you all three groups Judaism Muslim faith Christian did you hug believe Adam sin once and because of that the entire universe was thrown into chaos so obviously got a sin and if once in all the universe has thrown in to judgment and you've seen more times than you can count then what do we do there what does he think with your Center the goop to the Jew and say where is your sacrifice you don't even have a temple anymore you ain't coming animals and throw them away how does the blood of bulls and goats take away the sins of man after all David's and supervises and office have not required how are you going to get rid of this I thought the Muslim used to I think you have five pillars things that must be done what you do about sin there's only there's only two ways to get around it they either have to lower the holiness of God and say God's not that hope or they have to raise man and say man it's not that bad but Christianity says no God is perfect perfectly pure perfectly pulling perfectly just and before he can part the center justice must be satisfied and it was satisfied in the death of his son that's the difference from Christianity everything else is that God really is hoping and man really is even you and something must be done what is that son of thing a sacrifice not one offered by the can system in but one prepared by God and that is his son you see I spend a lot of time speaking on the radical or total depravity with men people always ask me why my answers always the same because I want you to let go and they go what do you mean I said Jesus said she loved much because she had been forgiven much one who has been forgiven little loves little you see our darkness are evil serves as a black sheet of velvet upon which the Diamonds of God's grace are cast in the backdrop of our darkness the grace of God manifests itself a brother was talking about starving people and starving children if I walked up to mr. Bill Gates and I handed him a baloney senator if he was like The Bodyguard didn't grab me he would probably take the sandwich and hand it to someone to get rid of it but what does he need with a bologna sandwich and yet at the same time I could think that baloney sandwich and hand it to people that I have seen in the third world and they would kiss my hand on their feet and they would still be talking about the day someone brought them Sam you see her their need drives them into this greatest of all treasures the ability to appreciate grace to appreciate a self-satisfied basically good all-around people really can't let go the people who know let it work you've wondered what so often you'll see some just radicals horrible drug addict or some prostitute or something that has been saved and they're just glorious I mean they just they just burn they consume with the love of God why is that they know they've seen a picture but what we have to understand is all of us have the same picture you say so when we talk about the gospel it's really coming down to who is God you don't want him to be good that's terrifying knowing that we're not and yet you don't want him not to be good because it would be a terrifying thing to be in the universe patrol by deliver them and even create so if he's good and we're not and what do we do the answer is only found in boys I can put it this way I'm going to be so bold as to say this the answer is only found in Christianity I could be that vocal why it's the only one that has a sacrifice the only one who takes these two things seriously and says something must be done and look let's go back to the Hebrew Scriptures what was job's great complaint oh if there were some of they someone who could lay his hand on both of us that is found only in Christianity and that's why we must go into the world and preach the gospel we must I turned 50 a couple of months ago I became a Christian when I was 21 so I'm getting close to 30 years in the faith you know I look at my life now I'm not getting any stronger definitely not getting any prettier everything that the world really wants I'm losing I'm on the other side of the hill I'm going down it's curtains for him it is a wonderful thing to know that the last 30 years although in a pathetic manner those years were given to Christ to something that is eternal you young people you've got to get into Scripture if you come to get on your knees you've got to read the old men of God and the old women of God you have to break away from all this boobie kumbaya modern contemporary Christianity putting all the buckets worth noting and it really means to flame to burn of the price get out of your culture I'm sick of your culture and get in to the scratchers why is it that we are always so compelled to leave the Scriptures to be like the world in order to win the world that's never worked I can show you in the history of Israel and I can show you in church history is in art be like them follow the world be an expert in the world you know the trends of the world the dressing of the world actions of the world and by doing that you think you're going to be relevant you're going to be ruined by being the opposite just because you listen to Christian rap and you've got a Christian t-shirt on and maybe a cross tattooed on your backside it doesn't make you back it is walking in purity and holiness and serving the Christ and burning for him remember years ago I was I was working down in the inner city of Fort Worth and even lived down there with the street people for a while an Ellen Lloyd farm boy was sort of a Midwestern southern accent with blue canvas converse all-stars on and jeans bought at Kmart I knew nothing about the slang the lingo the look or anything and none of those three people care all they cared about is when they went to the emergency someone down there when they went to the prison someone went down there when they were trying to get into the suicide someone stopped them I gotta confess huh do you know why I wore suit 20 years ago when I didn't wear a suit I was right because no one is happy but those have Sudan but now I'm the one this ratify I got a student on a girl whose father in the crowd look at the yellow just the same now I don't really care about whether you wear a suit or this let a friend who follow the world will build a church it's cool to the world my different konradin their way from Zambia what I consider to be one of greatest preachers a lot for that the Spurgeon of effort that's what I call that he gets mad at me once a buck we were preaching together years ago and brother Don we were in a Romanian thing and he said all of this stuff all of these Americans trying to do all these things build churches simply the Apostle Paul wanted to build a church he got out a big card and he wrote the most scandalous thing written into it Christ crucified and you walk down the middle of the street and that was sister on my car I hope that the two of us just to finish up and though I've hit I've thrown a lot of rocks and a lot of different dollars now you know why I got such a method great in preaching class one time an academic was converted brilliant man he was soundly converted but he was young in the faith he was asked to speak on the same platform with a very rare creature and he got up and he said I'm an academic God has started to save academics like himself because academics like myself are the best people to reach other after dinners and this very wise preacher got up after and Martyn lloyd-jones and said I love my brother and everything he said was wrong said John Weston was a very refined man and he sent him to preach to the illiterate coal miners Vanita gutte bar y del mu t couldn't speak english worth anything and he used him to reach the aristocratic society Doug has employed men work God always takes the strange bird the week not call it idioms code it takes the week one with Blue Gene Taylor and her converse all-stars the blue campus or guys standing out on a street corner with a sign that says Jesus is Lord he delights in that young people the cooler you get to the world the more sophisticated and the more cleverly you can hand the gospel off to them the more useless you will become someone said just recently what's the difference between the real popular preachers and then really the preachers evolved and we all study in the preachers today he said the preachers of yes to you we're anointed by the spirit of the Living God the preachers today just really really smart really intelligent every our what are you gonna do I hope it is we will run to the Scriptures study them on your needs lactose kind of way is not only father but knowledge you know nobody knows before and be a useful lot nice work dude there are so much young people's snow punishment I know that some of you are strong you will be weak I know that some of you are beautiful than young you will be old this life is so fleeting simply and there's so much to be done so many wonderful things to tell you in Christ's name so many wonderful things to do in Christ's name I would encourage you give away your strength give away your youthful beauty together give away everything I hear people in America say you know what you don't have to suffer in America you don't have to sacrifice in America for us well if you don't have to then choose to choose to then we will plead with you if they are plead with my own sons serve Christ smooth you know serve you with all your heart with your mind your slowly your strength I want to wear out free do I want to encourage you neutral and you encourage me I encourage I want you to wear yourself out for him please please something places in the world where I go there's just no gospel weakness brother mentioned Italy you know there are Americans cities and Italy thousands upon thousands of people and I could say they've never had an evangelical church if they repent and jump nibbler no more but sweet angels pray Lord that you would use this these things that I've been said for the benefit of your people she would help them help them help them Lord I pray that there be a return on this prayer or that it not be vain that it not be just about ending a service Lord I want you to help them Lord I plead with you to give me a return on this answer my prayer raise up missionaries there won't be a hindrance but a blessing Lord to the world now be obstacles but catalysts the gospel going to the far reaches of the earth lord help us Jesus that's there young people listen to me there is no reason given it scripture there's nothing that even indicates in Scripture that we cannot be used so that our generation every human being knows Christ I'm so sick there are people seeing that as an impossibility it's not an impossibility it can be done it's doable the Spirit of God is doable that before I die before you die every person would hear a sound message of the gospel it's due but it will cost you effort question
