all right [Music] what's going on everybody mortum here this time bringing you a video about classes and archetypes and Pathfinder Wrath of the righteous that you probably shouldn't play that said though depending on the difficulty you're playing on a lot of these aren't necessarily unusable they're just not very good and for some of them on higher difficulties they're just downright unplayable but for one reason or another these classes and archetypes are not ones I would recommend and while I have made a similar video in the past I figured with the enhanced Edition launching soon it would be fun to kind of go over some of these as people jump into the game for the first time on consoles and just talk about them a little bit first up on our list we have the one that actually pains me to put on here and that is the Eldritch font Arcanist archetype on paper this is actually really cool and it's a personal favorite of mine which is weird to put it on a list like this then right well the issue is the way it's class features implemented actually makes it kind of useless and that is Eldritch surge which is supposed to allow you to increase the DC and the caster level on a spell you cast by two for the exchange of taking something like fatigued fatigued can easily be gotten rid of through a variety of means so it's something you can play around and have fun with however that's not how it works in game in game you don't get both of those effects at once you have to pick one or the other which might not sound that bad Until you realize that literally every Arcanist can get a small class feature that already does that which means Eldritch font gives you the exact same thing every other Arcanist can already do while also making you fatigued for it now if this actually worked correctly or the way it was described in the description it would be fantastic again it's one of my favorites in the tabletop but unfortunately it just doesn't actually work that way in game it does have a really cool level 20 ability though and like I mentioned that doesn't make this archetype unusable and it does get like one or two other things that can be interesting but like the main thing you would take this archetype for doesn't work the way it is described to hopefully it will get fixed and you'll scroll down into the comments section one day and see a comment where I pinned about it being fixed I hope it does I'd love to make a build for it but that brings us to the second one on the list and that is kind of the one everyone knows about so no surprises here and that is the defender of the true World Druid this is an archetype that is really just a holdover from kingmaker it loses a few different things to take on bonuses to fighting Fae creatures however in Pathfinder wrath the righteous you don't really fight any fake creatures outside of the midnight Isles DLC there's a roguelike DLC where you actually will fight some Faye and could potentially get some use out of this but for the base game you will not get any benefit for taking this really there really aren't any Fae in the main Campaign which unfortunately makes this archetype pretty useless and speaking of useless that brings us to number three and that is none other than the Assassin this one's a real bummer because it actually sounds really cool but unfortunately it's not used able once you know more about the main campaign again it could potentially get some use out of this in the roguelike DLC but even there I probably wouldn't use it and that is because the main thing assassins get is poison use this allows them to apply poisons that damage various ability scores but unfortunately almost everything in the main campaign is immune to poison we're gonna be fighting a ton of demons and they are all completely immune to this which means you're wasting your time and unlike the elemental damage types there is no Mythic ability to overcome this if you're playing a Caster or something you can pick up ascendant element to bypass resistances but unfortunately that just doesn't exist for the Assassin which makes it basically unplayable again on Lower difficulties you probably could use this because it still gets things like sneak attack and another thing called death attack but for the most part it's to be avoided and that brings us to number four on our list and that is the elemental witch this is a case of giving up too much for are gaining too little one of the things that makes the witch and the shaman classes unique are their hexes this is a class feature that allows them to do all sorts of really unique stuff in some cases they just replicate spells in other cases they do genuinely unique things the elemental witch loses about half of their hexes to pick up a ray attack that they can make but it's really really weak at level one they get to pick a type of energy and they gain the ability to create a ray of Destruction dealing 1d6 plus 1d6 more for every three witch levels however as a witch you could just get spells that do more damage than this anyway without giving up half of your hexes which are one of the main reasons you would be playing this class anyways which unfortunately just makes Elemental witch a really bad option again technically playable on lower levels but you are definitely giving up way more than you are getting and speaking of that exact thing that brings us to number five and that is none other than the imitator archetype from the Slayer class almost exactly like the witch we're just giving up way too much and gaining very very little in fact we give up basically our primary Slayer class feature which is studied Target which gives you bonuses to attack and damage roles just passively in some cases and on top of that if that wasn't enough we also give up half of our sneak attack dice three of our Slayer talents also our Slayer advanced class features all just so we can take the ability imitation which allows us to imitate another class style and can let you take a fighter Barbarian Rogue or monk stance for one minute and let me tell you these stances do not make up for what you are losing now like basically everything else on this list could you play it yeah if you really wanted to as long as you weren't trying to do unfair or anything but honestly you'd be better off just playing the bass class than picking this archetype there you guys go five classes and archetypes I just wouldn't recommend playing in Pathfinder Wrath of the righteous hope you enjoyed the video if you did like comment subscribe all that YouTube jazz but regardless of any of that truly thank you so much for watching I really do appreciate it may you wander in wisdom and have an amazing day [Music]
