Pastor Joel Osteen: Next Level Thinking (Q&A)

it's an honor to have pastor joel osteen with us tonight in the house in Fredericksburg Virginia [Applause] he's he's really a man that needs no introduction known around the world for the work that he's doing and the Gospel message the the message of hope that he's bring into so many 40 million people either watch or listen to him through television or Sirius XM every single month 40 million people and it's brought hope to so many people I've had so many stories that people stopping me saying man I was going through cancer and pastor Joel's message of hope got me through it or I was walking through this or that situation and I just tell you for the first time I met if somebody said well let's see what's he like and I said what you see is what you get one of the most kindest genuine gentle people that I've ever had the privilege of meeting and I'm excited for him to meet our family and if you're guest you're part of our family now our extended family so life boy once you give it up for pastor Joel Osteen tonight [Applause] [Applause] so honored to be here with your pastors just awesome people and what an awesome place this is man I just walked in i can feel victory in the house tonight [Applause] yester the annual saying God's got God's got something amazing in front of all of us and I really believe we wouldn't be alive unless God had something great in your future so I'm glad you're here with us tonight I'm honored to be here and just appreciate you guys having me and we just have a good time I just I don't know what to tell you I didn't bring a message I'll just I'll tell you whatever I think oh but I'm eternal but I know this I know this that that God has us all in the palm of his hand I believe that you know I've seen in my own life pastor Daniel that God can take you places that you can't go on your own when your honor God with your life when you keep in first place you don't know what kind of God what kind of doors God's gonna open never dreamed I'd be a minister never dreamed I'd be up here with y'all tonight but you know what God's plan for your life is bigger than your own if you keep honoring him being your best I've learned this too God is preparing you for what he has in store you know I worked 17 years behind the scenes at my father's church doing the production you know it's so beautiful here and the lighting and the cameras and all that and I thought that's what I do with my whole life and you know what my dad would speak a message I would have to edit it down for a television program to 25 minutes he'd speak like 40 minutes and so all those years I would listen to each each message each week probably four or five times never dreaming that one day I would be a minister but I look back now and I realize God was getting me prepared for what I'm doing right now all those messages were going into me all those scriptures so you don't know what God's giving you prepared for as you keep honoring him keep being your best I just believe God's gonna open doors you never dream would open he's gonna take you where you couldn't go on your own and you're gonna see his goodness in new ways in your life amen how many of you are believers in here tonight see [Music] I wasn't supposed to start talking but that's good wasn't it I'm gonna say you say you didn't bring a message but thank you I just ramble hitting you all the time right we're so honored to have you with us tonight and just love the the message of hope that you bring to so many hurting people and I think it's needed so much in the time that we live in and and obviously you've written this new books next-level thinking and I had the privilege to read it and I think you ought to get it it's a it's a fantastic book but I want to ask you a little bit just about you and then we'll talk a little bit about the book and just see where it goes and Norfolk see what happens does that work perfect work tonight for so you talked a little bit about your dad and one of the things that I so admire is the very first not I hope I went to is in Brooklyn with you and is how you so honor your parents and honor the legacy your father and how you did work behind the scenes and can you tell us a little bit I thought it was fascinating to hear when you knew I'm supposed to take the church and and most people may not know how your father passed and and that whole story can you yeah let me give you a little I'll give you a little banking Daniel my parents started Lakewood Church in Houston with 90 people back in 1959 and I saw mob my parents be faithful all those years it was started with 90 people and for 13 years Lakewood had less than 200 people so it really didn't grow but I saw my dad of course I wasn't born into when the church started but I saw my dad up there preaching the 90 people I keep preached to 90 thousand when he was overseas and just day in and day out just just faithful all through those years and so I grew up at the church after college I came back and started working at Lakewood as I said doing the television production and I never I never my dad tried to get me up to minister many times during those 17 years but I never you know I'm more quiet and reserved I like being behind the scenes and I never thought I never thought this was in me when he'd asked me to get up to ministry I think you know what I don't know I wouldn't know what to say I tell him daddy you preach and I'll make it look good but I like staying behind the scenes but my dad was 77 years old and he had to go on dialysis his his kidneys had had a heart TRO a heart high blood pressure most of his life but had it gone dialysis but he was still speaking Daniel every weekend my dad was a fighter he never missed you never knew when he's in the pulpit that anything was wrong but he called me one Sunday ya know one Monday and asked if I would preach for him that Sunday and I thought if my dad had asked me once and I told him no a thousand two I told him no a thousand times and he never pressured me but I told him no I said daddy I think I'm honored that you'd asked me to speak when it's six thousand people there I said but I'm just not a minister I hung up the phone and I felt something so strongly Daniel I was I was 36 years old never ministered but something said to do it I don't know how to explain it except I knew that I knew that I knew I was supposed to speak for him that Sunday I called him back and said you know what daddy I changed my mind I'll speak for you Sunday well my sister my mother my rest of my family they would have passed out because I was gonna treat to my first sermon I got a tea that was the most miserable week of my life I so dreaded having to get up there Ivan told Victoria please don't talk to me until Sunday afternoon at one o'clock I said I'm gonna do this one time I'm gonna make my dad proud but I knew I supposed to do it well Friday my dad had some complications from the dialysis he had to go in the hospital so he couldn't be there anyway he's a great thing I was gonna minister who's in 1999 we didn't have the internet like today so we hooked him up by the telephone to let him hear me speak my first sermon and I got up there and I was so nervous the first thing I thought was what is everybody doing staring at me I had never seen it from that perspective but then y'all gotta clear and I did my best I mean I was people love my parents and so they were cheering for me and I just told funny stories about my family and they said I did good when I got finished my dad heard me through them through the telephone I told Victoria said let's go up the hospital and see my dad and see what he thought got to hear me preach my first sermon and the nurses stopped me in the hall and said yo we've never seen your dad so proud just beaming from ear to ear well little did I know that would be the last Sunday of my father's life the next Friday he had a heart attack and went to be with the Lord you know my dad was my best friend he was 77 we had traveled the world I'd worked with him every you know every day day in and day out and I used to think you know what's gonna happen when my dad's gone I was sure I was saying television production but I didn't know what what really would happen but you know I was in a fog if you've ever lost someone kind of suddenly you're kind of in a fog for two or three days I kind of Wow what has happening but after I got through that my dad died on a Friday night like that Monday Daniel I felt that same voice in here saying joy you need to step up and pastor the church and everything in my mind said are you crazy you ever spoken one time now you're gonna take my dad for 40 years he was a great minister but I don't know I know you felt this before sometimes it doesn't make sense here but you just know that you know I I think we've all had those times and Daniel I didn't know I knew I was supposed to do it I didn't know if I would be any good I didn't know if people would come I didn't know if it would last but I did know you know there are some moments that our destiny moments you either take that step of faith or that moments not going pass by again and I knew in a couple of weeks time I just felt it so strong I knew I supposed to step up so I didn't tell anybody I said my mom I said I think I was supposed to pass to the church but but you know I stepped up and I started I started pastoring never knowing if the church was gonna if you know if it would our goal was just to maintain what my parents had built never dreaming it would grow never dreaming that it would you know to see what's happening today so you know we just took that step of faith but going back to you know I do honor my dad a lot my parents because I know you know they put me 40 years down the road I mean you know I look at you got I mean you you guys started this 13 years ago I mean look what you guys have done well I had somebody that put me 40 years down the road so I believe in I believe in honoring people and I know I'm reaping from seeds that my parents have sown you know people come in see my big church I think I didn't get myself you know somebody was before us you know plow on the ground but you know I got something else gonna keep going okay good you know I think sometimes some things that may help you you know Daniel took over from my father and my dad had ministered there like I said for 40 years so when I first started ministering after I thought I gotta be like my dad you know I love my dad honored my dad and I knew everybody that was sitting out that auditorium came because of my dad they'd been there all those years so I tried to preach like my dad I tried to lead not like my dad I tried to do what my dad did and it was out of you know good intentions and respect and honor but you know my dad you know always had a long opening scripture not always but he he'd have long opening scriptures he would teach the book of Ephesians teach the book of Olympians took about three minutes I thought after I've read about three minutes out three or four months I realized you know what I'm not my dad that's not what I'm good at what I'm good is taking a part of a scripture and talking about life and encouraging people and how to reach their dreams and how to overcome same message but different personalities and so I had to get past this Daniel this thing about joy you don't have to be like your dad you can honor your dad and I'll read a scripture in the book of Acts that said David fulfilled his purpose for his generation and I felt like God said to me joy your dad fulfilled his purpose now go fulfill your purpose so be who God's called you to be and so pastor Daniel when I stepped into my own shoes when I got comfortable okay god this is who made you you made me to be that's when the church really began to grow so I just encourage you you are anointed to be you you know nobody can beat you at being you because there's an anointing on your life and so when I when I when I first stepped you know when I sipped into my own shoes that's where I saw things begin to grow so anyway I just told you that thank y'all good you actually you say in the book on that subject you say I wanted to honor my father but I love this you said but there's no grace on your life to be somebody else there's no grace on your life to be somebody else I love that thought because I think we live in such the comparison age you know what I know especially in ministry you didn't know 20 years ago what some other ministers doing there was no Instagram to look at it you know and and even outside of ministry in life we can sometimes compare I told the church we sometimes compare our behind the scenes to somebody else's highlight reel and we want to end up be in them and God's just giving us the grace to be us yeah Daniel it's so important we are the only well you said it so beautifully we're living in this day where you know you feel good about yourself until you get on Instagram so [Music] it's important because you know just to be confident in who God made you to be in this that when God breathed his life into you he equips you and empowered you with everything you need and in fact one chapter in that book Daniel it's called you are fully loaded because I think sometimes we live from a lack mentality well I can't I can't minister like pastor Daniel I'm not as good-looking as my sister I'm not I'm not a town you know as long as you think you're lacking I mean really I say this in the right sense it's it's an insult to God but I don't know if that's a way to say but you know what God God made you a masterpiece God did not make a mistake [Applause] you know you have everything you need but I think if you live from the lack mentality like well you know if I had more this I could be successful I had this big church Daniel if I could but you know what you're not lacking anything not arrogantly but you need to see yourself as talented as equipped as favored as as with everything you need to become who God created you to be and this is stuff I had to preach to myself because you know what I'm not naturally you know a big I don't month now I'm not this big speaker and not you know my dad would get up there and he would had this loud voice and we'd do all this and you know I'm quiet and laid-back but I had to get comfortable with who God made me to be I think when you realize hey you're equipped for your race you don't need what somebody else did I think sometimes if you had what they had it wouldn't be a blessing it'd be a burden because you have what you need so I think you got to live from hey I'm fully loaded for what I'm called to do hey [Applause] I'm not saying somebody else doesn't have more talent or more this or more that but you know what you're not running their race you're running the race God's called judo - you know / - I'll tell you a funny story Daniel one time I think this comparison competing here I go again I used to run a lot I don't I don't run as much anymore but I used to run a lot and this this path around my neighborhood that I run a couple of mile path and at this one point there's like a mile straight and straight line run and you know different paths and different streets and so I saw this guy in front of me about a quarter of a mile and you know he's he's a lot older and I was running a lot faster I thought I'm gonna catch him you know imma beat him I'm racing him he didn't know we're racing but I was racing him about a quarter of a mile front me and I was gaining every block vanna's couldn't make him running harder running hard I'm gonna catch him running hard I kept running harder and hard I finally passed him man felt so good and you know anything I was racing but I pass it when I after I passed him I looked up and I thought I have missed my turn we supposed to turn like three blocks earlier you know what I was so caught up trying to beat somebody that doesn't even know I'm racing him did I miss my turn and I think sometimes sometimes we not only miss our turn but the people were racing against they don't they're not even in competition with us I love this that successful people are too focused on what they're called to do to look around at everybody else in other words in most races you don't usually see somebody running a hundred yard dash you know like running like this because they're not gonna go as fast so you know my thing is you know run your race be who God's called you to be gonna be somebody ahead there's gonna be somebody up behind but God's giving us what we need one more thing did you know you think about Kings saw y'all probably know this so he can tell it better than me but King saw he was happy until they started singing Saul has killed thousands I can hear Saul how y'all hear them singing about me the next verse as in David has killed tens of thousands then Saul got jealous do you know what maybe a saw would have said you know what God you allowed me to kill a thousand and I'm gonna celebrate what you've allowed me to do and hey if there's somebody can kill ten thousand more power to them can I tell you there's always going to be somebody better somebody a better speaker a bigger Church a bigger this or bigger that but you know what I won't be continuing what God's called me to do called me to be I hope you will be too i I think the preaching thing worked out for you okay so question for you I know you don't deal with any criticism but if you did yeah how do you think you would handle that or how would you help people who who maybe do have some critics not that you've ever been not that I've ever had no you know I'm good at this I'm glad you asked because you know that was hard for me Daniel because you know before I was in the public eye you know everybody liked me you know my friends and stuff and and my personality type you know it's funny because my personality type is I want people to like me it's just what God made me if you ask me to go mow your lawn I'll probably do it if you ask me you know I'm that it's just that misses my nature and so I got into the public eye and I realize you know some people they don't like you they don't like you for what you stand for they don't like you because you're successful they don't like it but I've learned this that everybody's not supposed to like you you know you won't reach your destiny with everybody liking you I mean Jesus wouldn't have risen from the dead without Judas betraying him in other words Judas was ordained to betray betray him you look at you know Joseph's brothers they threw him into a pit well if they had not thrown him into the pit he would have never you know eventually made it to the prime minister of Egypt and so we look at everything as being negative I can't believe they don't like me or this boss or this people at work are talking about me but I've learned to just take it as a part of a part of your destiny I mean nobody in the scripture reached their destiny without people being against him without critics I mean look at look at Jesus Daniel I mean his own but his own family wasn't for him some of them didn't believe in him and of course the religious people and that's who I get it from the religious people secular people sinners they love me but you know part of it part of it is you know I you know when everybody's called the different things my I know I believe my calling is to throw a wide net of hope I want somebody flipping through the channels to say you know what man well who is this guy maybe God does have a plan for my life you know to the scripture says it's the goodness of God that leads people to repentance I think sometimes you know what people are beating down enough in life but anyway that's that's another story but you're always gonna have critics but early on you know first first four or five years you know everything took off and everybody loved me and then I thought you know get started getting some notoriety and then you know use this critic started to come and you know I get it from both sides from people that want me to be you know more this more that it's not it's not just one side but I told my team I said you know what guys I'd rather be criticized for what I put what I believe in for what I stand for and that is that God's good that he's on our side so how would you think encourage you to me I like to get up every morning and search my own heart and say got him on the right path am i doing what you've called me to do am i doing it because of ego am i doing it cause of pressure but as long as you can to me as long as you can get up and in the morning and and and stand before god and say god to the best of my ability I'm doing what you've called me to do then you don't really have to worry about what people are gonna think because somebody's gonna oppose you either way and I think it's so important to is you can't let it nowadays with I don't have to tell you with social media you can't let that negative get on the inside of you what people you know if you if you know there's negative about you don't read it tune it out because all it is is poisoning your spirit and a lot of times you know well you don't we only have so much emotional energy each day and I think sometimes we're spending valuable energy on you know what somebody said or what you know it's half the times these days at least for me it's anonymous people behind the scenes you know so you know what you don't have time you need your emotional energy to reach your dreams to play with your children to do to be what God's called you to be so it's a choice I'm not saying it's easy I mean my personality I have an eye on that personality type that I don't I don't to breed it I don't need to read the good stuff but sometimes you know you may struggle with that but you just kind of tune it out listen God being for you is more than the world being against you I have learned this you know this VIN it's been 19 years I've been doing this now and I've learned the critics cannot stop your destiny they can only stop them if you allow them to if you let that get on the inside you know Daniel we've talked about this before that last one but I've seen ministers that are preaching from a defensive point of view yeah they're trying to win over their critics well you know when I get up in front of people I act like everybody loves me but you know I'm gonna live from a place of wholeness place of faith if somebody doesn't like me that's their own problem I'm gonna be who God's called me to be and I encourage you as well it's so prevalent these days you just have to tune it because you know this I can speak a message and a hundred people Joel that was great today and one person can come say I didn't get that point I didn't really know you know you drive home thinking wonder what they meant wonder where I missed it there you got a tune all that out you know life is too short to let what somebody said or you know to live it offended or you know trying to pay somebody back anyway thank you all it's so good it's really good speaking about the look a little bit what's the one takeaway if someone read it walked away with one major thought what is that I think it would be Daniel is that our life follows our thoughts and I think many times we are limiting ourselves with our own thinking just like when I've stepped up to Pastor the church every thought oh you're not a minister you've never been to seminary you don't have the experience the training like your father I mean you let those if I were to let those thoughts play I wouldn't be here today so I think there's always limits that the enemy and just even even more than that just ourselves we put on ourselves just I can't teach that class or I've reached my limits in my career or I'll never get married there's just I think we can all do that but I don't believe God put us here to stay stagnant and I know there are seasons of testing and proving of being faithful but you know ultimately you're gonna come out of those seasons but I think you have to take the limits off and say god I'm supposed to rise higher I believe I can I can I believe I'll be further this year next year as I am right now not arrogance but just taking the limits off whatever it may be maybe it's something like you know you could never break an addiction everybody in your families had it or you could never get married you could never get out of debt you could never start your own business whatever it is you just got to say you know what in my own strength I may not be able to but God you are on the throne you are breathing in my direction you can get me where I'm supposed to be you know goes back Daniel I talk about my father see this is easy for me because I've lived some of this and I've seen it in my in my in my family well my father was raised back in them well he was born in 1921 he's raised during the Great Depression well they were very poor they didn't have you know money for barely had money for food they lost everything in the Great Depression they were farmers and 17-mile my dad gave his life to Christ and he Daniel he felt God called in to preach first one his family so it's all new to him 17 years old poor they're the ones that got the Christmas basket the poorest family in the in the school but he knew God he felt like God had called him to preach we told his parents he was going to at 17 leave the house and go out and started start ministering but first thing they told him and they were they were good people I didn't know him well but they said John you're gonna get out there and fail you you know you know how to do is pick cotton but you know people can try to keep you from your destiny they can put you know they they may mean well but they can put limits on your life and you know my father could have thought with my own parents don't think I can get out there and do it but my dad I called him a barrier breaker he broke he broke barriers that that had that that were holding him back and he went on to Pastor great churches and do great things so I don't know if there's any limits people have put on you or your own thoughts or maybe it's just your environment but you know what you got to take those off god is breathing in your direction tonight he wants you to rise higher I really believe every generation is supposed to increase we're supposed to go further than our parents so you got to get that in and and I've learned this you can either talk yourself into your dreams or you can talk yourself out of your dreams and you can let those recordings oh you're not a minister you can't do this or you can say I am strong in the Lord I can do all things through Christ God against me so I believe this you will never rise any higher than the way you see yourself it starts in our thinking I think sometimes we're gods got all the power in the world he spoke worlds into existence he's got the power now are we limiting ourselves are we limiting God with our thinking God I don't see how that can happen I mean Daniel think well you could be a god how can I have a beautiful building here how can I have six campuses when you looked at that 13 years ago it could have looked impossible but you know what here's somebody that's the power of believing the power of knowing that God's in control power next level as I read your book I couldn't help but think of the Apostle Paul's words that nobody conformed to the patterns of the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind and I think this the power of of your thinking and allowing God's Word to saturate your thinking and sometimes it's I know when I first started in ministry I talked to myself a whole lot not out loud so people didn't think I was crazy but I had to talk to myself a whole lot to tell myself that God's got this we can't do this with God's help and I think there's just power in that and what you're saying about generation to generation the scripture says we move from victory to victory and from glory to glory and I believe that is what what God really wants for us it is I do I liked him that this first have thought about you know there's a recording you saying you talk to yourself I think we all talk to ourselves you know the psychical psychologists call it our internal dialogue there's a recording playing all the time in our mind and I think some people don't realize the recording is negative they've been raised that way who they are it's just you know what I never get any good breaks and it's gonna be a you know I've got I've got all these problems and I'll never get out of debt but I really think the the battles taking place in our mind and I have people well Joel I'm not optimistic like you I'm not a positive person well I know we have different personalities but I believe it's more than that I believe sometimes we just our mind has been trained like Daniel said you have to your mind has to be renewed and to be conformed to what God says about you and listen you know God says I say every week at our church I won't go to mall but you are blessed you are prosperous you a redeem here's what should be playing in our mind I am forgiven I am talented I am disciplined focused confident secure I would encourage it check up on what's playing you know you don't change it overnight but you can't begin to change it because you don't have to think whatever thought comes to your mind no thought comes it's gonna be a lousy day nothing good is in your future no you know you gotta turn that off and say good lord I think if this this day as a gift you've given me come on I'm gonna find somebody to be a blessing to you know you just one thought at a time you start changing those those thoughts and takin fighting the scripture talks about you know guarding your mind taking control of your mind be careful of the thoughts that you're allowing to play in your in your life and you know I think Daniel it's important how we start the day I think if you want one tip I would give you know if the very start of the morning you know before you you know check your emails before all that you do anything else find something to be grateful for start the day off in faith what I want to thank you that I'm alive today today I think a lot of times we lie in bed and just natural thoughts I don't want to go to work I'm tired I don't feel like cleaning the house you know we just get started off in a negative frame of mind I like to turn it around and lord thank you that I was able to wake up today you know we all have problems and I know you know some some may have more than others some fighting cancer some not lessening that but I know living from a place of gratitude and a place of faith is better than being bitter negative and discouraged so good very true we've hit one more book question than a couple more fun questions and get wrap-up in Chapter seven you talk about the I think mentality and you tell this funny story about someone telling you that they think Victoria before when you were dating and can you talk about that story and then talk about how we don't have to live with I think God loves me reality that's good Daniel how I can remember it but yeah I think I know it is to talk about you know when I was a Victoria I'll try to get in when I Satan Victoria I knew a good friend of hers and we would talk behind the scenes you know quite probably where Victoria didn't know early you know I'm not explaining it very well I call her hey I would call her and what what do you think that she liked me in a moment one time this girl said I think the big toy said she thinks she likes you and she was really excited and I thought I was kind of depressed cuz what do you mean she thinks she likes me means she may not like me but my point being I think sometimes we do that with God you know what I think he loves me I think I went to church enough I think I read my Bible I think I performed good enough but I believe we have to get a race away from a thing I think mentality when it calls when it comes to God love and and to know God loves you he breathed life into you he calls you a masterpiece and you know I've learned when you see I had I think a lot of times we get our image of God from our earthly father you know not always but I think some people do and I was blessed because I had a great earthly father he loved me and was for me and yes he corrected me but I knew my dad was for men and that's why it's easy for me to know that hey God is for me God is on my side and so I think maybe if you weren't raised that way and even Daniel I deal with people and you probably do too that were you know Church you know maybe at one time twisted years ago man you went to church and well not I'll say this in right way it's easy some people go to church that well they tell me this let me put it back on there they said oh I don't need to come to church I'm guilty enough you know the church made them feel guilty the church beat them down the church lets you know that you can't measure up and you and God is not pleased with you and you didn't do this and you know what you got to turn it you got to get away from that God is smiling down on you right now God is for you he breathed life into you I've learned when you know God is for you then you can rise higher you can go further in life I'll do better tomorrow there's my best tonight it's so good if in the room tonight and overflows there's probably people that it's their first time here and just wondered if if you know of any good churches in the area that they should attend or a good church that you would personally recommend you you you didn't you didn't disguise it you could man no better Church in this area than life point chart right here [Applause] I would encourage you you already know this but you have great leaders here I wouldn't take it for granted you know don't take it for granted you know I was raised in church and I know what builds great churches you know what it is it's faithful people it's people that come week in and week out people that are committed it's easy to run and you know well you know a lot of them I just know Lakewood has people didn't been there for 40 years and I look at them I say man thank you so I encourage you what if you can get plugged in you know don't just come in a 10 if you if you know if you're busy and you can't that's fine but man can you serve can you be a part can you make a difference life goes better when you keep God first place and you know and these days because you know we're all busy and I have friends that talk to me and you know executives and different just people doing life man I got Little League I got this I got that we're all busy but I've learned when you make God a priority when you say God I'm gonna be at the house of the Lord each week there is a blessing on your life you know God can make up for the time God will make up for the time when you come to church tell my church all the time yeah it took you three or four hours you know you had to park you had to get dressed ahead you know what God can give you one idea that will put you two weeks down the road just one idea so I encourage you this is a great place to get plugged in and grow in church and just somebody that's gonna help you become who God's created you to be so if you don't you maybe you're visiting tonight maybe you watch this on TV but you hear me say it on TV get plugged into a good Bible based church well this is a great place to get plugged in to grow and to you know again I think it's important because people and I know sometimes you know they're there they can't because of their job or their health or something they can watch on TV and that's all fine but there's something happens when you get around faithful believers just getting in here tonight with you know the scripture says that that iron sharpens iron you know you know manna may not even heard what you needed to hear but you know what you can feel what you need to feel you get around people and and God's presence gets you know comes on you you just get built up around faithful people I think at this you know just like you can catch you know if it's flu season or if there's colds going around you got to be careful you can catch the flu you can catch a call you know if you're not careful well if you can catch negative things how much more can you catch positive things how much more when you get around people of faith like tonight are you catching faith and healing and joy and peace and victory so why don't you give one minute life points Church I'll sign you up tonight come on Melrose one less thing something I so respect about you is I've never listened to you that you didn't in your program and say we never liked into broadcast unless we give people an opportunity to make Jesus the Lord of their life and at the end of the day hope is found in a person yes the person of Jesus and there may be people here tonight and we're broadcasting this could be people watching online and would you close out our time the way you close out every one of your broadcasts giving people the opportunity if they'd love to to - Jesus into their life and find the hope that's found in him I'd love to thank you for the do it tonight so well we bow our heads in prayer and I'll just ask you what I asked my congregation if if your heart stop beating in the next few minutes aren't you at peace with God do you know where you'd spend eternity if not I'm gonna invite you to pray this prayer with me not really talking about finding religion or even to even join in life point right now I'm not talking about that I'm talking about a relationship with your folks your heavenly Father with the God of the universe that that comes through Jesus Christ and it's not complicated maybe you are a Christian but you've gone whole toward God and you just want to rededicate recommit your life to Christ well there's no better time than tonight you know I said it earlier God is not mad at you your sins have already been forgiven God stands before you right now his arms held open wide he's saying come to me will you accept the free gift of Christ's salvation I believe you will tonight so why don't we just in faith we'll just all pray this prayer and if it's your first time or your rededicating we're just prayed along with us let's just pray - after me if you would Lord Jesus I repent of my sins come into my heart I make it my Lord and Savior amen what let me just I'll tell you what I tell all our congregation just I said it early I would encourage your first off we love you we're gonna be praying for you what an awesome decision but I would challenge you in a couple of things number one get plugged in to a good Bible based church right here life porn if you can here's here's what I tell people Daniel I think this this has been this has helped us you know if you're new and you this you know church is new or you haven't been plugged in I would encourage you to commit to one year of your life give Pastor Daniel and Tammy one year of your life make a commitment just like you go to work today I'm gonna be in church and I'll tell you what you you you give them a year of your life making God a priority and I promise you in a year your life will never be the same for the better get plugged in when you come back on Sunday bring somebody with you call a friend a family member all they need is an invitation I love this and speaking to all of you I've heard this statistic that ninety percent of people that have never been to church have never been invited but ninety percent of people that are invited will come so all they need is an invitation you can reach people that Pastor Daniel can't because you're in relationship with them you play Little League or your kids do or you workout with them or they're at the office man it's you know it is it's something as simple as hey once you come to join me at church this week maybe you have to pick them up so bring somebody with you take time every day to read your Bible take time to pray know this the moment you prayed while ago God washed away all your sins write it down in your Bible October the 4th 2018 that's a victory in your
