[Music] foreign so I just wanted to give you a little update the boat is now in Maryland um where it will stay for the winter um I returned home and Cali and Seamus took my spot flew down to St Augustine Florida and they helped Jesse bring the boat from Saint Augustine they stopped in Charleston and then they ended up in Oak Island North Carolina so they all ended up flying home from North Carolina and unfortunately we weren't able to get back down to North Carolina to bring the boat to uh Maryland so we ended up hiring a captain and the captain brought it up into the Chesapeake for us [Music] hey it doesn't look so bad Autumn doesn't bottom looks wow there she is oh it doesn't look too bad no it doesn't a coat of paint it doesn't even have that much to scrape off I need some paint on her bum so we're here at the boat hauled out in Maryland at Dennis Point Marina this is the first time we've really seen it out of the water so um first glance it looks pretty good yeah so we're gonna just kind of make a plan to fix things sit up get it ready and bring it to Maine where hopefully fingers crossed we have a mooring and Cake purpose so we're working on that and this weekend we're going to make a list of what we want to do um which includes let's say inspecting the bulkheads for sure um figuring out a solar setup and number three figuring out the windlass so I think if we had those things all set we would be comfortable and ready to hopefully live on the boat for a few um few weeks definitely next summer and maybe rent the house that we were living in so anyway um I'm gonna be around and I'll give you a little tour of the postal View there it is 12 Italia we're gonna name her kuu Honua and I was thinking let me maybe if we can take that sail bag down bring it home and kind of get a patched to cover the ciao Italia and to say so we're trying to get on here oh looks pretty good looks like just has some marks from the straps probably maybe this is the first time we've seen it out of the water so I don't really see a couple little things but nothing major so far do you see anything we you think it looks better than I expected most of the paint is gone you see this here this is not so bad you know it's a blade of paint it's made to come off I mean you know a whole bottom job is eight grand probably so so it doesn't even just paint it for the season yeah yeah that would be good I don't know if there ever was a ladder I wonder what that's all about there's no holes or anything that would suggest there was one there huh I wonder what you what else you'd put in there and there used to be there was a clip like it's like it just lifts up we can use that one as our ladder but this would be nice to replace because even in the water this didn't look good so we got our map here so what do you do pause and I think like where the legs go in underneath here let's see what you got out of the claw [Music] oh wow all right I don't really know how to do it so yeah this is the gills we don't can't eat those gills this is the face you don't eat the face no more eyeballs I think like right inside here [Music] so you can't eat the gills but we need the rest of that all right I'm gonna try yeah I have a lot of hair I'm gonna start with this one this is start with the bulkheads are you videoing yeah all right we'll show them this then so what this so so this is what we're dealing with this paneling has moved it's opened here this is open oh boy it's a bigger issue is back here right there oh my gosh the paneling is coming off which is actually a good thing because now we can get it off in one piece we might be able to reuse it that's from what people eat patches open but the real issue is over here that we have to decide where this bulkhead connects to the hull that one looks the problem is that on this side it's all finished it doesn't look okay there's a gap right there so when you see if we take this apart it'll just be detached well that's the that's the concern yeah that this bulkhead is not attached to the hull because they use that plexus stuff and then so up under here it should be attached up here as well so so take this off and then over here so we may end up having to sacrifice this paneling back here these are panels these can just come down and hopefully expose the hull the cabin talk I mean and then over here there's some more of this this can come off this can come off all right um and then it goes all the way down underneath here we have to decide what's going on here so let's do that so we're taking so this is setting off and this is exactly this is a positive yeah development let me show you look at is this should be on so what we're looking for is the tabbing from this bulkhead to the hull and it looks like this one is already tabbed and it looks intact so let me put a light on Wow here I'll hold the light you hold this okay what's going on so in the corner there it's all tapped dabbed nice and strong there's plexus holding the bit on there but I see that the boats like itself was a tab and it's actually glad the bulkhead he said the bulkhead itself is glass right so it's not just plywood there's glass over it yeah so that's good and then and then it's also tabbed and glassed to the hull no problems there so the problem areas could be to the outside here we're not going to be able if that one is not failed so we're gonna take that out though in fiberglass or just leave it I don't know I mean that no that was way up in the I don't know I would have talked I'd have to look up look it up it's not badly cracked it's cracked it looks like yeah oh let's see under here like so let's do that that's that's what we need to do right now what take this part analog take these panels off see because ultimately we're going to Glass it either way whether it's broken or not just to be safe right because it but it might be reveal reveal we're inspecting the structural bulkheads on the Lagoon 440 they've had issues in the past so we bought the boat and ours has issues too ours has issues but not terrible issues hopefully so far nothing catastructible but we will soon this area down here looks pretty good this needs a little bit of fiberglass this is a concern up here we're gonna take a peek mostly at the corners here we've got most a lot of the paneling off is the corner here still can't see it you can't see it oh that's a drag that means then you have to take this piece off and where the bulkhead meets outside of the hall we've already confirmed that the inside is okay has been glassed by the factory so that's good so here we go hopefully we don't have to tear apart all this [Music] oh you gotta go further so this is our bulkhead for what was I get for the first time to see if there's any damage to it wasn't too hard to get this off it's just stuck on here with blue or like rubbery knitting here 4200 or something you just cut it and take the screws out foreign all right here it is well you can't that looks like something right there I don't know what that is foreign [Music] but yeah usually these would could be all broken like parlays was all yeah wow it looks good except for the air we're going to see that in a minute that's the mid looks pretty good though so there must have been just so this is just veneer the panel so we're gonna pop that off right now and see what that result this is not good here all right we're trying to get the paneling off of the bulkheads to see looks like there might be one crack but we don't have a lot of tools so we're going to be using a spatula and a knife is this the only bread knife we have yeah if you want to keep it I mean just it's Gonna Cut You Down is that all like that gummy stuff yep oh there we go this one's been working pretty good yeah [Music] it needs to be attached to the hull and take it off and replace it with lots and lots of fiberglass you cut this access hole so if you get down to this part here we go okay yeah so that's the first episode of inspecting the bulkheads we intend to repair all the bulkheads and reinforce them with fiberglass so that the boat's safe and comfortable for our family friends and guests I started the channel for you know a couple of reasons one was I had so much you know so many pictures and so many videos on my phone I just wanted to get them out somewhere and we were sharing it with our family and friends and everybody's asking oh where's the boat what's going on with boats so I thought I would make a YouTube channel just to show people and the other reason is because our long-term goal with the boat is to Charter it so we hope to make it a business so most likely it would be we would Charter it in Maine first and then eventually get to the Bahamas and then I hope that we can make it down into the Caribbean so um yeah so follow along and hopefully you guys can come visit us and go cruising sometime soon
