Let’s start with Jimin’s various martial
art skills, which he acquired as a teenager. He has experience with Hapkido. (Japanese fencing) Hapkido! I've taken hapkido lessons when my friend was doing it. It was really cool. What it was like... I remember from when I was younger, I took Kumdo lessons. I took Kumdo lessons. The masters were friends with each other, So people who take hapkido lessons and us would come together. And practice together. We also learned hapkido. So we shared lessons. I learned hapkido a bit at the time. I was really cool. I found the restrained moves very cool. I'll cheer for you! Jimin did kendo for 8 years. I learned kendo for 8 years. For cutting papers and cucumbers. I won a gold medal. I loved a manga named "One Piece" I loved "One Piece" and there was a character named Zoro. He was really cool. So I always told my mother "Mom, I'll be the best swordsman in the world." That was what I told her. So I learned Japanese fencing (Kumdo) for like 7, 8 years. Jimin is also a blackbelter in Taekwondo. He even incorporates these skills in BTS performances. Back in school Jimin was also the first and
only freshman offered a scholarship to study martial arts more extensively abroad in China. So don’t be fooled by this soft, delicate
face of an angel. Speaking of Jimin’s school days, he was a part of many different clubs, one of them was a football club. He has mentioned being a part of the table tennis club. He was also a part of a billiards club. He also likes to play basketball. Also one of his favorite subjects and subject that he was good at was physical education, he was excellent at track and we got to witness that at the Idol Star Athletics Championships when BTS
were still attending. In the group running whenever Jimin was placed
as the first runner he quickly took the lead and made a bigger distance with the competing
teams which then let the BTS teams middle runners have it a little easier. One time and one time only when they decided
to switch Jimin out of his first position, they unfortunately lost. ISAC Hall of Fame also gave a shout out to Jimin, saying: “Jimin was fast. He was way too fast. The strategy of BTS has always been to put Jimin at the forefront. The thing that impressed me the most is that Jimin hits a lot at first, so the runners behind him are trying to follow, but it’s a bit difficult.” We also saw his archery and high jumping skills at these Idol Star games. One other source for his overall body and core strength, flexibility and stability was contemporary dance training, especially the ballet training. Other ways we get to see Jimin’s strength
and athleticism is in Run BTS episodes and other official BTS content. Jimin often encourages fans to be healthy,
look after yourself and move your body to uplift your mood!
