hey guys and welcome back to my channel today I've got more of a lifestyle video for you rather than a new recipe or a cooking tutorial but it's still food-related because it's all about pantry organization if you follow my blog you know that I recently moved and moving is such a great time to clean and purge especially when it comes to your pantry so before I moved I actually threw away all of my old expired items or ingredients that I hadn't used in a really long time so that when I moved into this place I had a clean slate to work with but one big thing I did on this move was that I switched all of my old plastic storage containers to glass and I'm absolutely loving how it turned out as you'll see my new pantry isn't huge but now that it's clean and organized ingredients are easier to find which makes getting back into the kitchen and cooking healthy meals that much easier as well so let's dive into the video and as we go through my pantry I'll also share some of my favorite ingredients and brands and what I used to cook on a daily basis alright so my pantry is two stacked cabinets and the items I use most frequently I keep at eye level or within easy reaching distance the very top shelf of my pantry is duplicates of items I already have and the bottom shelf is just storage but in between those we'll go through each shelf so first off I'm really loving my new glass containers for dried goods they're cylindrical wet jars that are 100% airtight which keep everything fresh and you can always see how much you have of any one ingredient also show you later in the video how to label them like I did which is a really fun way to customize them the next shelf is all my canned goods and jars I love wild planet tuna and they've also got some snack packs that are great for travel also on the shelf is coconut milk canned veggies and sauces and sweeteners like honey and maple syrup [Music] I make a lot of homemade seed and nut butters and if you haven't seen it yet make sure to watch my almond butter video but sometimes I also buy good quality organic brands as well coconut oil is a staple in my pantry along with avocado oil and I'm loving this duck fat from epic provisions then it's just vinegars and other oils like my favorite truffle oil next up are all my seeds nuts and berries which are also in wek jars of varying sizes and while these are smaller than the cylindrical jars above I love that they're stackable which definitely saves space and the lids are all the same size [Music] next to those I have a variety of vegetable broth sand bone broths which I use all the time in different recipes such as soups and stews all right on to snacks and I have these a little bit lower so that my niece and nephew can easily grab them when they come over munchies include pork cracklin which may not sound good but you'll have to trust me it is along with sweet potato chips and grain free tortilla chips these siete tortilla chips are made from cassava flour and if you've watched my cassava flour tortilla video you know I love this grain free flour [Music] in these clear plastic containers I keep all my bars and travel sacks in this one I have Larabars and some fruit strips and in this one I have epic bars which are my favorite especially the Bison and bacon bars along with a variety of their snack strips like this smoked salmon one [Music] I've also got some alter eco truffles in mint and salted caramel which are definitely rich and delicious but also perfectly portioned for when you get that sweet craving next to those I have my basket of sweet potatoes onions and garlic I love this wood basket because it's really easy to slide in and out and I just put some felt Furniture sliders on the bottom so that it doesn't scratch my pantry shelves and then inside I just placed a small towel for a little cushioning and that's it super easy [Music] the next shelf is all my baking items and I have another plastic container for vanilla extracts and other flavorings and baking chocolate behind those I have my vital proteins gelatin and some organic palm shortening which is great for making my homemade gluten-free chocolate chip cookies in more wet jars I have baking soda arrowroot powder maple sugar and powdered coconut sugar which I powdered myself in my Vitamix I've also got some other organic sugars on this shelf and raw cacao powder which is full of antioxidants and perfect for sweet recipes like my chocolate avocado pudding next to my pantry I've used the cabinet above my Vitamix for coffee storage and smoothie ingredients you guys know I love vital proteins collagen and I've written a whole blog post on how to get more collagen into your diet so if you haven't read that yet make sure to check it out but I've got three different types of collagen here as I like to switch it up for smoothie ingredients I've got some gut healing glutamine and goodies from moon juice in Venice Beach along with some bee pollen magnesium acai and spirulina [Music] below that is my coffee nook and I'll be doing a whole video on brewing coffee with a chem X really soon so keep your eyes peeled for that then I've got my espresso maker a nut milk bag and my organic coffee beans [Music] because I'm gluten-free I used several different types of flours and I leave these out on the counter so that they're easily reachable these beautiful jars are called Montana jars and I love the acacia wood lids which match the rest of my decor they're also super wide on top which makes getting a measuring cup in and out really easy so here all my old plastic containers several years back I thought I was doing good by switching all my containers to bpa-free but studies now show that bpa-free plastic scan' be just as harmful as BPA if not more I also found that these containers weren't airtight so both of those things prompted me to move everything to glass of course some pantry items are still in plastic but I figured I might as well reduce it where I can especially on bulk ingredients [Music] all right so let me show you how to label these glass jars you'll use a water-based Sharpie paint pen and these come in a variety of colors but keeping with my minimalistic approach I went with white then all you do is write your label if you make a mistake you can use a paper towel to instantly remove what you've written and redo it the paint pen will dry in about a minute and then it won't rub off anymore but you can still use a scrub sponge to remove it from the glass in the future this is just a fun and simple DIY that gives your healthy pantry a little bit more of a personalized touch [Music] I hope you liked this video and hopefully it provided a little inspiration to help you organize your own pantry for all of the products and ingredients in storage containers I used make sure to click the blog post link below and if you like this type of lifestyle video let me know that as well it's a little bit of a change for my regular recipes and cooking tutorials but if you subscribe and you comment and you give it a thumbs up maybe next time I will do a full apartment or video for you so let me know if you'd like to see that [Music]
