Pangong Tso Lake: the World's Highest Saltwater Lake and the Hidden Treasure in Tibet, China

[Music] foreign [Music] hello everyone this is jim young and tashi delek from western tibet and before we start everything today first i would like to give you a brief informations about what is western tibet and what kind of place it is so basically tibet is one of life's biggest adventures for many people but western tibet is like most in hospitable environments in the world and it is a remote area on the edge of himalayas where the altitudes are higher the mountains are rockier and the landscape is more desolate for most of the year with its ancient kingdoms sackett mountains and west salt lake and this mesmerizing landscape makes you feel as if you have landed on some distant aliens planet anyway the climate in western tibet is much much harsher than in the rest of tibet the temperature changes from night to day are so drastic where it can be 20 degrees a day and it can also drop to below freezing at night and in the winter months temperature of minus 20 degrees are common over there however while this is one of the most desolate and remote areas of the planet which average altitude is about 4500 meters above sea level but it is actually a heaven or a shambhala for the many many wild animals over there and also this place is the best place to discover the uniquely stunning natural beauty of desolation [Music] and here i'm going to show you some white animals of western tibet [Music] [Music] hello everyone this is jamyan good morning to everyone right now i'm at the most western side of tibet which is called ruto county and ruto county is 1200 kilometers far from lasa which is so far actually and rizzo county is located on 4 300 meters so ruto county is actually surrounded by such an awesome landscape like so many beautiful mountains with different colors and also you will see mount range kangtisi and the interesting things in widow county is you will see your craft that has been cuffed during the times of early men's times into that and plus a beautiful lake and also the most interesting thing everything county will be the 219th national road that has been located above 4 500 meters to 6 800 meters above sea level and when you are traveling from hasa to xinjiang you must have to pass through this beautiful awesome rito county so from the four highlights of the ruto county today first i would like to show you is the pangkung lake and i really hope that you would enjoy it with me and please follow with me pankong show is an entour hike lake spanning eastern lotar and west tibet situated an elevation of 4225 meters it is 134 kilometers long and divided into five sub lake the lake is five kilometers wide at its broadest point and if your time is available during the trip we also have a boat that will take us around moon lake to visit the bird island and to see or to feel the amazing beauty of the lake [Music] this is all ladies and gentlemen [Music] and now it's our lunch time in a small tibetan local restaurant [Music] juicy and delicious after a beautiful yak momo lunch our second highlight of ruto county that i would like to show you is the rock craft that was crafted since early man times in tibet and we have to drive like 20 kilometers west of ritual county so here on this work we actually can see lots and lots of paintings mainly in hunting's objects and animals such as contents of natural objects and so many different animals like tigers deers sheep dogs and lots and lots of birds i mean look at here i mean all those paintings has actually high ornamental and archaeological value that has been carved in early times by early mens in tibet and i i think it is really important for you guys to come over here and discover different kind of marks that you can see onto the rocks and so far i've found it pretty much like birds monkey sun moon and a deer and a hunger like so many different kind of those impressive early men's and after visiting the rockcraft painting from the early men's time we will drive like three kilometers to the rootholk fortress and the monastery which will be the third and fourth highlights nearby ruto county and when you reach there that place will give us some original feeling of tibet the fortress and the london trading monastery have been history around 800 years old and was first built as kuber sack monastery and later has changed into monastery and was destroyed in 1970 and in 2014 they have reconstructed the fortress and the monastery hundred treating monastery was surrounded by so many beautiful mountains and lake which is called bangkong lake and nowadays we have like six monks living in the monastery and i really really recommend you guys to visit the fortress and monastery when you have time in ruto or even if you are passing to ruto to xinjiang oh my god i really couldn't believe how big this fortress was before with this i really really had no idea how big this is i'm thinking that it was much much bigger than portala palace [Music] look at this amazing place i finally have made to the top [Music] and now i'm going to show you the antics and holy statues of flindrock trading monastery and beside that i'm also going to pray for you guys that can't visit this monastery [Music] [Music] foreign oh my god that was awesome the statues the monastery landscape lakes mountains everything looks so holy and beautiful i mean even too many people are so afraid to come to western tibet because of its altitude and a little bit poorer conditions but i mean look at that beauty of uniquely storming natural of desolations i mean
