[Music] bye [Music] good morning youtube i'm here with the eddie for the morning and it's snowing out today um but it's warmer than it was last week so no wind it's just a nice day to be out here actually got a roof over here yeah this is great i mean don't get much better than this with a sawmill that we got a lot of stuff again today in i see that i see that we got a saskatchewan how do you pronounce that i can't say it saskatchewan canada that's the first road yeah and uh boy is this heavy my goodness that thing is that's when they made license plates out of steel yeah that's back in the day that's the first one of it up we've got these bunch of stickers it's been around yes it's been around thank you so much joe appreciate that and we have from david orr he sent us the new mississippi flag so i guess they redid it uh this year i think everything's new yeah if you want to open that up and also mississippi so we'll put this up on the wall today thank you so much eddie's going to display the flag here we've got other flags to hang there's a lot of people that sent us flags in the past that are sitting in our building we're going to finish filling up this wall and periodically we'll change them out and give people a chance up on the wall there so there you go i think you got her back over there there you go and god we trust there you go that's very true thank you and also we got electricity at the building now ed oh yeah look at that that's all you need it's clap activated or it's smoking activated and eddie got something really special i only wanted a hundred but i got a million you got a million dollars it actually feels real yeah so i guess watch what you're doing i guess this will be the last this will be the last video of the sawmill um no counterfeit we're we're gonna retire now so that's it so that's pretty good i appreciate it thank you well today we're gonna finish up the pellet wood um get this order behind us they're going to pick it up monday morning so we got a few more pieces of cup we've got some nice spruce off on ourselves oh yeah fresh so um and also the noise in the background is the vandal running so maybe we'll sneak over there and grab a couple minutes of video they're sawing up some walnut today so they're gonna take it to a vacuum kiln and haven't dried within probably a couple of weeks yeah you don't know how dry it can stop the cell so we'll give you a little bit of video of the fan milk one so uh well we got a lot to do so let's get cut let's get going all righty all right we're over at the band mill this is some really nice uh walnut here give you an idea they had one on here this morning and they hit uh first cut big old uh lag boat or something so there you go where's your bucket of water at bucket of water to show the grain off all right they're shooting at us there you go that would be a beautiful table top so this is one tree they have the butt and that was where the metal was at so this is really nice nice piece you're going to get some money for this this is going to be a really nice piece but uh yeah he's going to take it up to a vacuum kiln and uh i what what are they telling you two weeks yeah well three weeks about two to three weeks they will have this absolutely down to six percent and uh they're actually thinking about buying a eye dry vacuum kiln if this all works out so we might have more to show you of the kilning operation and our kiln's right over here so it's like i said it's snowing out here today but we got to get this thing online and um [Music] just everything's a project takes time so uh alrighty we'll see at the circle mill we're gonna start cutting some pellet wood all righty let's get this party started so today we're going to cut up the rest of our pellet wood and i got eddie wired up on the microphone let's give him a try here that's what he was can you hear me ed can you hear me now i think these batteries went dead oh technical difficulties let's see here can you hear me now can you hear me ed i think we got dead batteries so oh well but anyhow we'll get this figured out technology is good so we was here friday this thing's trying to all right oh she's cold i'm gonna take that big old nasty right off of there right now let's get that over with it'll take a few cuts before she warms up but i can't see there he is i couldn't see my log turner and there is mr laser and let's go ahead and whack this thing up at least that paste didn't fall down there we go we don't need many more slots we're going to send them a few extra all right let's turn this back to the knees what is going on here let me see if i can uh that long turn i was just grabbing that enough i ran that log all the way up to the cradles when we got done sold on thursday the reason i did that is because if that chain freezes so hydraulics are nice but when they're cold they're not very nice all right then we're going to take this down to seven and a quarter and we're going to split them like we did last time so same thing all over again kind of like groundhog day i think i can get two out of there now so i'm gonna start setting up start center inch and a half all right i'm gonna go to the other outside face again all right let's see where we're at here see if anything moved that that log seems like a little spring in it that stayed flat surprised and there we are right down to our seven and a quarter alrighty be glad when this uh hydraulics warms up a little bit all right let's take that shoulder off and that's perfect yeah we still haven't made a deal with the uh slab saw this price just went up about six thousand dollars and i said you know what's with that so i don't know we might just end up spending the money on a loader and put that swing saw we have in line temporarily and this log's disappearing pretty fast and we're going to roll it back out because the next cut would be the dogs we want to hit a dog that's animal cruelty we have people all over us we'll shut our channel down i'm just going to take this down to three and a quarter right now that way we can split it that'll be good one will be just a hair heavy it's better be too thin there we go we'll stack these back on and yeah that looks a little bit better we'll get one out of there they're gonna get extra anyway yeah we're gonna figure this walkie-talkie out uh i really appreciate uh your effort bob uh we definitely wanna definitely wanna use them i like that hand signal and these little crab little crab signal pinchy pinching all right let's get this down to three and a half and this is just really touchy there it is now they're trying to pinch the back of the blade but that is spruce is what it does we'll give eddie a minute here so i was talking to mr john clark freaking jeep last night and uh i got to watch that video today i see he found the air that he was doing some uh he actually had an eddie so yeah john he's a it's a one-man show that's for sure oh eddie's gonna let's get her back far enough i think we're back far enough now they're ready all right let's draw a straight line on there that should work i don't know if i'll get seven and a quarter out of it but we'll see i think we did good retract the dogs run the knees back a little bit i don't think that one dog is holding nothing we're gonna find out here in a second that's for sure come on move just a little bit for me there you go that's the only disadvantages of these uh hydraulic dogs is you don't get you don't get the dog down like you can on a uh old handset gold handset you can dog that down a one inch board no problem all right let's get our last log and what i do is i visually look at the log and i estimate okay that's 16 17 inches um it's it's kind of hard to judge but after you put a few thousand logs through you kind of figure that out all right let's get it let's get the opening face that we want oh yeah i want to get rid of that that's for sure that's got to go bye-bye i'm going to i'm going to taper that out a little bit on the back side again when you taper when you gain on this side you lose on the other side so just keep that in mind even the handset mills when you taper you're splitting a difference so you're not taking it out on one side only i just want to get past these little porcupines i think that was supposed to be five more so we did very well to that log i'm gonna throw one piece of fin so i can get a wider face on it all right we'll take one thick board all right let's take her against the knees all right we got a good hold of her and let's take this down to seven and a quarter oh i see i forgot to put see here's how fast mistakes happen and it's it's hard to film and cut forgot to retract that taper so right now i'm cutting a tapered log not a problem see if i can just run it forward and grab it but you can see when you're not paying attention to the job at hand this is what happens it happens really fast so we gotta straighten this back up we're gonna cut a wedge i had one guy worried about my camera angle i mean this isn't a production studio and you know i stick the thing in the holder the same place every time and it is what it is my main goal is to make sure eddie don't get hurt number one number two that we don't cut dogs off or make really silly mistakes and then number three comes to filming so maybe someday the discovery channel will come out they'll bring a film crew all right eddie there's some wallpaper for you buddy all right we got our seven and a quarter we're gonna lay it down i gotta back up a little bit more yeah you don't wanna snag a head block with your dogs okay let's get our line drawn on there that should be all right no edging necessary all right let's run these down and looks like a little bit of sap yeah my hydraulics are finally getting nice and warm that's some nice dimensional lumber there i'm going to turn this back now because we're going to be getting two closer dogs with one more set all right remember to take put your dogs back let me see where we're at here yeah we might be able to get an extra one out i don't know nope i gotta back it up a little bit all right we're gonna let that alone that last port's gonna be a little thick but better being too thin all right we're going to stack them back up and split them in half there's eight more oh well that one dog likes to split them all right let's take it down to three and a half and that like i said this is a touchy part there it is and let's see if these things try to bind up on the splitter again so get the knees opened up for the next and we'll be finishing this up 300 pieces i mean it's a small order but we're a small mill there let's look at the license plates here for a minute and i don't know how much longer my battery is gonna it's blinking now so i don't know we might not have an end to this so if this ends up roughly you'll know why but you know what i'm gonna let you go here anyhow we'll talk to you when we're done solving this up all righty eddie well we got her finished up yep that order is ready to pick up it's under cover um ready to roll here so yeah it was a little bit of a snowy day here you can see the log pile everything's all covered up here and it's that thing called winter time comes every year yup like it or not so alrighty i guess we're gonna call this quits for today so all right everybody everybody have a great week and uh we'll see what the weather does i don't know if we'll be up here sawing or not i got
