has got a really nice vaulted roof and uh it's got a good Skylight anyways like I said there's actually a house back here so we're gonna uncover it but I do want to give a big thank you to East Texas where are you going he said I'm going to hell as far as you're concerned oh really wow you're probably then you know anything about this house uh I know the person that used to have it died so it's uh it went to his daughters oh yeah as far as I know and it's been vacant since yep they used to rent it out uh I actually even uh oh a couple years ago I had a neighbor here on the corner he convinced me said why don't you take your brush hog and knock all them weeds down so I did and I'm I knew there was a gas meter and I'm standing up on my tractor looking for that guy I ran back oh yeah and I mean you could hear they go I said call the damn fire department called The Gas Company turn this off luckily I didn't blow my tractor up are you all working for the city or no did somebody buy this please go around doing this stuff and find places like this type of situation and we already know criminal element just hangs out in this type of houses and you know if they're not if they're not doing something minor normally they're cooking drugs in it or whatever right so we go around we clean up the houses like this or find people that are in need and help them out and cut it and then um yeah we make a video of it we got a lot of people to follow and enjoy the process of seeing it cut um it's pretty cool we've gone all over the us doing it now but we uh really yeah yeah we've uh we've kind of moved in the region uh-huh so we're going to be working in this area for I don't know the next few weeks and then we're actually planning to go to Kansas and then Florida yeah it's pretty wild we kind of Bounce wherever well that's nice oh it's a huge blessing better get out the road dad [Music] saw him out here this morning yeah and uh [Music] no that's what he said I said that's my love shack no hell I wouldn't let myself grow up like that was so what'd you guys think about pretty cool guy right um here's what we've kind of just hey man that AC is not actually in there that AC is not actually in there this is like a shroud somebody yanked that thing out I was just going to talk to you about something bro I got distracted look at this that thing's not sitting in there some of you ain't got a thing out there oh man now the other thing they did is they came in and cut the power up on the house I don't know if you can see it but the power cords are out there they are completely exposed they're cut and exposed and because of that we can't get too radical with trimming here because if we accidentally touch that and cross them over it all um to be the last thing we did so and I know that because it's still hooked up to the pole you can see where the power is actually hooked up so with that said what we're going to do is cut some of the vines off the wire here clean up around around this on the front we won't be able to fully expose the peak like I really would like to but that's okay it just is what it is and we'll see what it turns into so let's go and get to it all job let's talk about it uh just for the fact that we're out here and it's like 115 heat index if you could just give us a thumbs up that would be totally awesome as far as the project goes man it cleaned up really nice it did what the house is what the house is and it's only going to be as shiny as you can make it yeah we turned this crack house into a crack home hi I'm Bob Vila I don't normally do windows but welcome to This Old House okay I'm calling the East Texas Trailer pickle Rick if you got a better idea let us know in the comments I think that's kind of a fun name for the uh green trailer they could look real good with Juggernaut on the side yeah anyway I appreciate it Kevin for coming a pickle Rick turned out pretty good we couldn't get a lot of it because somebody had cut the power loose on the house and stripped the house of all the wire in it and the house is pretty much shot but uh we had some bad elements coming in here and uh doing unlawful things you guys didn't see it because off camera we stopped taking a drink of water and this guy drives by he would say it's a pretty unruly things and I guess it was where he was staying there's actually a cot in there where he's staying and the neighbors have been complaining about it it was a weird interaction and the thing is you know like it just is what it is more than likely it's going to be torn down and we've actually done quite a few now that have either been a control burn for training from the fire department or actually torn down by the city because it was condemned and I've done a couple where they've been torn down and something else was built there so it's pretty cool pretty interesting to see how everything plays out there's a natural cycle to everything in life it's got holes in the roof got no windows the doors are off the floors are gone yeah it's incredible this is just keep the criminal element for coming in here and the neighbors can actually look at the house and see if there's something going on if there is hey man there's somebody over there messing with us now can you come over here check it out folks please over and we got to meet Al he seems like that was cool yeah he's a cool guy he offered us some uh water and stuff which is cool he did not hearing me people offers water and stuff yesterday I got a muffin what yeah the kids came out with a Panama you're bluffing because I'm bluffing with my muffin oh I grabbed the muffin I was like thank you and I'll talk to the owner a little bit and then when I was leaving I took a bite of the method but it wasn't quite done all the way through so there's doughy on the inside I was like oh well that was an Oklahoma Muffin Man Muffin Man Oklahoma muffins what I'm trying to tell you they don't like them though I know what I'm saying is you're in Oklahoma and if you try some of these baking in Oklahoma you are at risk of adverse side effects later I think [Music] that's in Oklahoma that's true that's true yeah you're saying they might pick something in it there's a lot of people making at home medicine yeah I'll be going home I'll be going home but why does my belly oh I have to like giggly [Laughter]
