Overview installation of a Slim Recessed LED Downlight Unit

[Music] hi my name is Stefano capo sicko I'm the director of product marketing a westinghouse lighting today we're going to talk about LED recessed lighting solutions depending on your installation you may already have a recessed can in your ceiling and we have solutions for that which could be as simple as an LED light bulb or swapping out the trim and installing a retrofit kit and it coming you go around or square depending on your application all of our solutions come in different sizes four or five or six inch depending on the size of the can or requirement of light output and you come in different color temperatures ranging anywhere between twenty seven hundred degree Kelvin all the way to five thousand degree Kelvin if you have a brand new installation where you don't have a recessed ko trim these are more appropriate they're self-contained units all in one has the wiring compartment led and the trim let's talk about each individual unit [Music] this is the six-inch slim recessed LED downlight and the most important feature about this product its its thickness as the name indicates its slim basically it's only 1/2 inch thick so it's ideal for very shallow installations it does require a driver and the driver can be mounted remotely allowing for the shallow height and once the hours brought into the driver you can make electrical connection between the driver and the unit using this twist lock connection additionally there are parts bag with wire nuts and a will make strain relief to be used in the driver [Music] here we have our hole cut out for the 6-inch recess and the power that's going to supplied the recess coming out what we want to do is bring the power into the wiring compartment of the driver we open up the wiring compartment and we want to take out the knockout after we've removed the knockout we insert the strain relief supplied and we see the power in next we want to make the wiring connections like the black white to white and ground to ground and we tuck the wires into the box next we want to install the cover you line up the holes to tab snap it closed and now we can push the driver into the ceiling making sure we leave the pigtail hanging out we connect the pigtail from the driver to the unit twist lock it in place fold the springs into the ceiling you turn the power on and there you have it [Music] you [Music]
