Welcome back to the Chippewa National Forest in northern Minnesota. We're out on a familiar lake and unfamiliar territory, checking out new bays, some new channels, and new islands. This is a special trip because it's the last time that we're taking out the boat cabin here before heading out west on a road trip with the family. So the goal for today is to explore some new stuff, do some fishing, and just soak in the beauty of Minnesota. Wow, you guys, there is a deer that just showed up on the shoreline over there. I think she's definitely drinking some water, but she might also be eating something like, maybe there's some wild rice over there. It's absolutely incredible. I just think it's so cool when you get out to these remote lakes, you really see the wildlife come out, especially if you sit and stay put for a moment. I mean, in this one vantage point, we've got a deer on the shoreline here, we've got loons off the bow and a massive beaver lodge off the stern on the boat. Now, real quick, before we cast out, I want to let you guys know that this video is sponsored by Anker. They're a long term partner of this channel, and we're so grateful for their power solutions for not only this boat cabin, but all of our cabins as well. So this right here is the Anker Silex C 1000 portable power station and it's the unit that we've had in this boat since I built it. There are so many things that I need power for out here on the water. My camera, batteries, drone, the lights. This fan for at night, and even my bait cooler over there is powered by this power station. The C 1000 is a great fit for the boat here because of how compact it is. It fits in really well, but also has incredible power to it as well. This thing will power nine devices at once with 1800 watts of power, and can handle surges up to 20 400W via surge pad. One of the things that I love about this power station is how fast it recharges with AC power. It will go from 0 to 100% in just 58 minutes. That's 27.5% faster than other power stations of the same capacity. And you can also charge it with 600W of solar, which I hope to have one day on this boat. And it'll go from 0 to 100% in just 1.8 hours. That's really, really quick. So you can see all the different ports that you can utilize on this power station. We've got six AC ports. You've got a DC car charger and then four USB ports, two of which are fast chargers. It also has this light conveniently on the front, which I use all the time in the middle of the night. You can also double the power capacity of this device by tethering an expansion battery. I really love this power station, but what's the most remarkable part of it to me is the longevity. This thing will last ten years or up to 3000 charge cycles. So you know that if you're going to make an investment into this thing, you're going to have it for the long haul. Anker's Prime Day sale is coming up, so make sure you click the link in the description box to check out some amazing discounts. All the details will be below. All right, so here's what I'm thinking. We do. There's an island just right over here that has a campsite. I'd love to go check that out and take Ellie for a little bit of a walk, let her do some swimming and all of that. But first, once we get over there, I want to try a little bit of fishing off of these islands. Is usually where a lot of these fish are hanging out. And so I think we might have some good luck doing that. A lot of you guys gave me some really good advice on how to properly anchor this boat. and I took that to heart. So this time, I really gave this anchor a lot of rope to make sure that we get a nice angle to dig into the ground, and it worked perfectly. All right, guys, so here's our island right here. It's actually a decent size, as I suspected. but we do have some wind coming in on this side of it. So what I think I'm going to do is I'm going to tuck in on the other side, and we can try to do some fishing. Well. So. Unfortunately, nothing's biting. But that's kind of to be expected because it is the middle of the day. We'll definitely try again later on. But for now, I think we got to head to the island and, let Ellie stretch our legs a bit. Just. Oh, man. That is a big island. it's really only developed here at the campsite. The rest of it is just thick. Thick brush, but it branches out into, like, three forks. and we got to explore all of them. So we're definitely coming back here later for a fire. But for the time being, I think we're gonna head out onto the lake, charge some of our camera batteries here, and, maybe go for a quick swim. Oh. Oh, that's so refreshing. We've been having what they're calling a heat wave. Although it's really normal summer temperatures. But, man, this feels good because it's. It's pretty hot out here. So some of you guys have been asking how I get back in the boat when I go swimming. Well, what I do normally is I'll come up on the back here and there's a little handle right down there, and, I use that to, step on, like, a ladder and I just pull myself up. But this time I made a crucial error when I came out onto the bow, I latched the doors from the outside. And so that means if I came in from the stern, I would be locked inside the cabin. At least until I got to shore again. Oh. Oh. See? Look how sturdy this boat really is. I have all my weight on this side, and, it's not tipping it off. Oh. Look. All right, so it's time to feed Ali and make some dinner. I actually bought a new stove for the boat here. It's actually the same stove that we have in the travel cabin. And what makes this better than the backpacking stove is the fact that it lays flat. So there's much less chance of something tipping over. And, an accident happening. Because. All right, so I'm making a really original recipe. She came up with this, and I've been loving it. Left. This looks so incredibly good. You. Oh! It's incredible. Okay. So I unplugged our bait cooler, and I'm just going to let the minnows go. That way we don't have to listen to that thing all night. Well. I. It also has been a pretty awesome day. So definitely bummed we didn't catch any fish, but, you know, it happens. We'll get one next time. I think we're going to camp out in the middle of the lake, so it's probably about time we head out there. It's. Does anyone have any idea what that noise is? It's like these high pitch whistles, and they, like, change tone every now and then. It's crazy. All right, guys, it is about time to hit the hay. I've got the fan going tonight because not only is it warm out, but it keeps rogue mosquitoes or other bugs from being on my face. So definitely a good thing to have a good night. Oh, well. Good morning. I slept incredibly well. Best night's sleep yet in this boat. I just was, just wiped out from the day because I just knocked out until morning. Ellie's got to go out to go to the bathroom. and actually, the island right back there is the island that we stayed on last time. We were on this lake. So I think we're going to just jet right over there. We'll let her out, and then we'll start making our way back towards the landing. Home. Well, unfortunately, it's about that time I got to shove off and head back towards the landing. But. All right, guys, we made it back safe and sound. It's time for me to get this thing off of the water so we can hit the road. But before we do, I want to show you how much power we went through. with RC 1000. So, as you can see, we have 29% battery life remaining. And that's remarkable considering how much we used this over the last day and a half. I charged up my drone about 4 or 5 times, charged other camera batteries multiple times as well, had my phone on charge all night, ran the fan all night, and we even were able to make a pot of coffee, with an electric tea kettle. So with all that to say, this power station is a perfect fit for this boat cabin. So if you want to pick up the Anker Solak C1 thousand portable power station, there's a link in the description of this video, and I also have it up here on the screen. It's definitely a great fit for us, and I think it'll be a good fit for you as well. All right. With that, I think it's time to end the video. Thank you guys so much for coming along. it's such a joy to be able to go out and experience these beautiful places and to be able to camp out right there in the middle of the lake. I want to give a special shout out to our patrons who generously donate to this channel. Thank you so much. But to all of you who watch, your support means the world and we do not take it for granted. It's time to get this thing up on the trailer so we can hit the road. Thank you guys so much. We'll see you next time. God bless.
