Overcoming Church, Indianapolis IN

[Music] you know you have your average drug addicts some dealers prostitution this was my neighborhood that I lived over here for years done everything I thought it was big enough to do it whatever you want to get help but you don't know how to go about doing it I just asked her where was she going and she said I'm heading over coming Church ain't no coming that Sunday and I've been here ever since I see overcoming Church as a light to help people who really can't help themselves but they can come here and get the resources they need to better their life that's what it's all about it's all about the community everything we do it seems like how can we impact the community how can we meet the people's needs I mean not gonna go on a door and asking somebody what their needs are and how can we help that is not your traditional Church I believe everybody has something to overcome and everybody has something that they continually are overcoming we look for ways to address means where people are and then that in turn opens the door for us to share with the cracks [Music] to have a pastor who says no I'm going to plant right here and stay here that's huge you're going to stay right here in the middle of it and provide people with what they need I'll see you help me with my own daily walk with God made me feel that I do have purpose I am here for a reason I'm not a mistake God has a great things in store for me believe in God and he will show up and show out if you believe in God and if you put your trust in him you take one step he takes hands just like that our present building of course it's the functionality of it does not lend itself to anything other than just worship where we're using every possible room there is but we're growing so much everything is becoming too I think this church is getting pretty old and I think it's time for a new facility yes it's a milling it's a place of worship but it can also help serve so we're taking that vision so that we can restore or transform this whole area [Music] we feel like that we're in a perfect place a perfect time and this is a season for rebirth we want to do this so this is very exciting this is God's work and and he's going to provide you know we're going to watch him unfold you know his plan through us but I would say that uh change is good when you're trying to do something different it's worth it you know and it's just different steps that you got to go through [Music] you we've used the building as much as we could and now it's really time for a new facility
