oh my god toilet water oh my god oh my god [Music] okay so today i'm back on the shower in this master bath uh what i'm going to be doing here is not quite traditional because uh when i frame this bathroom with the rest of the house i did advanced framing two foot on center well i knew nothing about cement board at the time i just figured it'd be all right it's cement it's a cement board well the half inch thickness cement board which i get here locally you're supposed to frame that 16 on center a max of 16 ounce center so normally people would just take out the insulation throw in a new uh joist or a new stud and be on their way well i can't really do that because as you can tell i got close cell spray foam all around me and that would be an absolute nightmare so what i'm going to do is for the bottom two feet do cement board and then i'll just add blocking along the whole uh shower to attach that cement board to and then i'll do my red guard on all the cement board and the shower mortar bed then up top is going to be traditional drywall and i'm going to do the schuler system and i'm pretty much just going to do the schluter system after it's all been red guard and everything from the roof all the way down to the mortar bed so that way it should be like a bulletproof system the reason why i'm doing uh the cement board opposed to doing it like the tub surround in the other bathroom is because if i ran my drywall all the way down to the mortar bed there's a chance i would have wicking up into that um drywall and just wouldn't be good with the tub i mean it's an acrylic tub so there's not going to be any like wicking from the acrylic so that's why you can do it uh the drywall there and then the schluter system over top i'll post it in here with a traditional mortar bed i'm going to do that bottom two feet of uh cement board [Applause] are you watching daddy work [Music] [Music] now that spencer is all done with getting the additional framing inside our master shower we are finally ready to start installing all the drywall in here and i'm very excited because besides all the walls with the mini splits this is our last room that needs to be drywalled i knew this process was going to be challenging but it definitely took longer than i thought it would yeah i thought i'd have it done in two weeks [Music] [Applause] [Music] stretching out the borders [Music] we're cities [Music] you look right above it didn't you after all that all the special cuts you made you got to do a whole new piece now so what happened did the same thing i did on one of the tub walls i measured from the floor up instead of from my drywall edge down so i uh made my cut tube or too small i wanted this edge to land perfectly in the middle of this 2x4 well it would have if i would have measured down to the center of this instead of from the floor to the center of that so yeah so it just barely touches the top of the wood up here amateur mistake like three thousand well on the bright side this is the last room so there's not many more pieces to be messed up so that's good are you okay we're good this time yeah [Music] we are now all ready to start working on this wall between the two bathrooms so what we need to do is work on getting our installation in there and then we can start hanging the drywall which it's funny because in order to do this bottom piece of drywall in here we have to take the toilet out and we just got water back and now we're having our toilet taken away but hopefully it won't be for too long and then we can work on getting the cement board in around the shower and then the bathroom will all be done as far as getting the walls up so how does it feel narrow does a little bit in it to have full-size bathroom uh appliances kind of have to cut shrink things down skinnier showers yeah because ideally we'd have a bigger vanity and a larger shower but they work for our shipping tanks you only got so much room yeah we definitely had to pick and choose what we wanted because for the shower we would like it a little bit wider probably i mean we don't really know until we use it but by looking at it we would like it to be a little bit wider but then that meant that we would have to have a smaller vanity and it would have had to be a 24 inch vanity right which by making the shower just a little bit smaller now we can have a 30 inch vanity which is a huge difference with a 30 inch vanity you at least get a tiny bit more space uh opposed to a 24 where it's just pretty much a sink yeah just a sink so that's the reason why we chose that yeah and i wear contacts so i need a little bit of counter space it drives me nuts when i go somewhere and it's literally just the sink and i have nowhere to put anything and i'm dropping everything on the ground so i'm glad we did [Music] all done i think so all right now i need to test it out do you need to go to the bathroom that is the ultimate test no no and i don't want you listening i have to listen to see if it works okay i'm gonna go on the other bathroom [Laughter] all right whenever you're ready all right this is what we're gonna do i want you to start talking to me right now okay and then just keep talking at the same exact volume just keep repeating the same thing mackenzie is amazing mackenzie is amazing all right now start so we can hear what you sound like when we're right here and then when we're on the other side the arsonist has oddly shaped feet keep going the arsonist has oddly shaped feet the arsenic well i could definitely hear you well also nothing's this there's still no drywall it's not taped or mud mudded and also there's no doors true we'll have to test it out again once we get all that done so arsenic has all these shapes [Music] all right now to figure out how to get the toilet out here yeah the install is the easy part i've replaced one toilet in my life i forgot how to drain it and we currently don't have internet so i can't just look it up right so shut the water off first all right that should be shut off so that's how you drain it how did you learn that i'm just guessing right now wait what how would you possibly know to continue holding down because it's you open a valve and water flows out spencer you've done this before you're a toilet replacer oh you're standing on my shoes to look inside this tank oh she dropped her block inside do it again oh my god i got a toilet water on the ground [Music] toilet water oh my god oh my god spencer apparently water can still spill out of this definitely do not oh my god it's just going ever where's the shop back all right let's see if we can see the spencer went [Music] wait so is that the water that was underneath the toilet i kind of used the water uh i think so you know how the water flushes down and into the toilet bowl so yeah this is the water probably after you've used it that's been pushed away but it's still kind of in contact with the surfaces that so this is sewer water yeah cool barrels and some windows i can't mop the osb [Music] [Applause] one second you're a drywaller the next thing you're a plumber the next your electrician just dumped a bunch of water can you give me the napkins i have a chicken in my hands can you give us the daddy thank you princess oh it's so sweet i think that's where it is yeah how do you know if you're on the hole you just feel around [Music] he's going to turn the water back on [Music] actually looks like a bathroom in here [Music] there's a ladybug there's two ladybugs are you really surprised are you filming me yes stop it i'm ladybug one we are finally all done hanging the drywall and a cement board in our bathroom and it looks so good it'll look even better once it's mudded and tiled yeah yeah one step at a time it's just nice to finally have all the spray foam covered up in here so now that we're done with this we just have the three walls where the mini splits are going to be to finish dry line and then we'll be totally done with hanging the drywall yeah that's how high it's gonna be that's where we had it before why i mean i just hope it'll end up being high enough whenever i put my hair in a bun it gets really tall on top of my head i just want to make sure that it doesn't hit the mini split that's like three feet from your head oh would you stop walking in front of the light you think [Music] you've never gone you've been with me all along and you've been holding on for so [Music] anywhere i stood you standing by [Music] [Music] you've been with me all along and you've been holding on for so long so [Music] you
