good morning everybody how you doing today my name's Andrew I'm Daniel I'm Joel I'm Lauren okay I'm Megan I'm Aunt Becky I'm Mimi and we're some of the veggie boys and we'd like to thank you for stopping by if you're new here please consider subscribing because we can grow tons of stuff on the farm but one thing we can't grow is this channel without your help welcome back everyone it's so nice to see you we've got a beautiful day on our hands it's nice and cool and we're expecting to see rain scattered throughout the day now today is a special day especially for the farm market and you're probably wondering well what makes today so special well Grammy baked Angela and Megan also made some cookies we've got all different types of stuff here so you know when Grammy bakes oh it's going to be a busy day Aunt Rhonda is in here right now making banana creams the girls are going over all the orders and Grammy's pulling stuff out of and putting new stuff into the oven one of the reasons why it's so special is because we don't bake all the time anymore only so select occasions the girls have many jobs that they're taken care of and I'm gonna get started working on my chores and you guys know first things first we gotta get this Farm Market all cleaned and set up it's getting a lot more lively here in the farm market we now have everything all set up we are a little low on some of the produce but that is at the wholesaler this morning picking everything up that has not arrived home yet from the wholesaler so in the meantime we're gonna be heading down around back and getting the tours taken care of I think the first thing we're going to do is get the chickens all fed and their eggs collected it is a Friday so we feed chickens today Joel beat me down here he is getting started with feeding oh my word these chickens are ridiculously loud this morning but since still is getting started with feeding I'm gonna get started with collecting the eggs how you feeling ladies you enjoying all that wonderful straw in there they like their new bedding they told me I speak chicken fluently that one's fresh [Applause] we just got all the eggs collected and it has now started raining here on the farm not only have the eggs been collected but Joel is just about finishing off feeding [Music] foreign Joel just informed me that he was informed that we're not feeding silage this morning so all we need to do to get the cattle all taken care of is feed them their grain [Music] now that we're all done feeding cows I'm gonna go get started watering those plants over there I don't know what to tell you that's funny we just saw Dad he is now back from the wholesaler he had brought his truck down here to unload some things and now he's heading up top to unload his produce I don't need to worry about watering anything on the wagon as you heard Joel he's already taken care of it again not Joel he's pretty funny and now we're doing our quick daily inspection of the mums we just need to make sure that our drip line is in the correct place it can be moved by many different things the cats will come in here they will mess with things you'll have the wind will blow it off and this is basically what we're looking for see how there's one two three four five pots that are not in line there we go now we're good every time we water we come through quickly just to make sure that no pots are getting missed by the drip irrigation we do take little sticks and we'll put it on the side of the pots just to hold the drip line into place believe me it gets frustrating after a while when you get some windy days that come whipping through here oh it'll make you fired up so it is a constant battle making sure that everything is in place but you know what it's not that big of a deal we don't have to go through and hand water everything and if our biggest concern is just making sure there's a drip line on our pots I'll live with it something that's funny is we have our pot filling machine in here but this can actually be put away we're all finished with it for the year it's basically retired well maybe retired's not the right word because uh next year oh it's getting back to work for now it's looking good in these lower greenhouses not too many issues and the rain is really starting to come down out there we're going to be looking for a break in the rain today to do something very very exciting I know you'll be looking forward to it the only thing is we have to wait for a break in the rain which I'm not sure if we're gonna get one this morning before I head up into the farm market again I wanted to get some eggs graded which I have now done not quite a full box however once we start grading this afternoon we'll have two full boxes to bring up for the farm market if you like your butterfly book everything from the wholesaler is all taken care of and our next job brings us over here into the shop we got some mechanical work that needs to be done the truck needs the oil changed on it and since it's raining while there isn't a better time to do it so I'm gonna be here helping Joel getting him anything he needs for changing the oil right Joel I gotcha thanks Andy yep you're welcome way too big today way too big it's probably too small but there's a 14 inch just the hair too small try 15. I got it okay and I'm going to need a glove how you doing down there Joel Jim Dandy oh good that's what we like to hear I don't know why we make the tallest guy go underneath the truck but he offered so I mean I'm happy to let him do it I may be tall but I am sleek there you go buddy you got it I got it it was hot and it was dark but I had a glove and Shop towel so I was okay when Joel was underneath he got our filter put into place so all we need to do is add our oil and she's good to go taxi taxi thank you sir thank you so what are we up to where are we off to boss uh we're going to AG industrial to pick up a seat I ordered for my tractor I don't know if you've ever seen it inside the 100 uh the seat is not connected it can sometimes go all over the place uh but what we're doing is going to pick up the seat and then if it's still raining we might try and put the seat in we're not sure but it's a good opportunity for us to run and pick up some parts because it's raining oh we're putting the seat in Joel's gonna have the tractor ready till we get back let me tell you that Joel he got the oil change right away on that truck you mean we could have taken the Truck Yeah we actually could have taken the truck all they had to do was add the oil huh we just got everything we need dad also picked me up string for the weed whacker what a nice guy uh we needed a chair for the 100 as I mentioned earlier that sucker was pretty broken it's not even that heavy check that out so now we got our van loaded up here with all the parts that we needed so we're gonna be heading home but Dad told me next time I come he's buying me that excavator that's what he told me maybe this one over here no I well I'd use that one that one would be perfect too he's not gonna buy me an excavator but that would be fun dad and I are just backing in here we are now home we'll see what the boys have been up to what is going on here trying to get the cable parking cable off oh I have a new one dad was saying he doesn't even remember the last time he had a working emergency brake in this tractor I remember a solid player does it look like it goes up uh it looks like a solid flip Joel loves working on this tractor as it is his favorite tractor and he never wants to get rid of it ever we have four tractors on the farm I think I would rather take this van and hook it up to a disc then use this things have been moving along okay here but we just got the call that it is lunch so we're gonna head up and get something to eat oh it looks like we are having pizza for lunch got some sweet pepper Pizza we have cheese pizza and broccoli and cheese what a deal well that was a nice treat for lunch the pizza was really really good it is still drizzling a tiny bit here we are expecting it to stop shortly then we'll be moving on to something else that is exciting remember it's going to be exciting but for now we're really gonna try and get this tractor all taken care of and that seat into place which is what Dad and I are working on now it's going dad foreign things are going really good right now we got the emergency brake all hooked up and we tested it and it's oh what was I saying yeah I got the emergency brake all hooked up we tested it it's running fine I just dumped the driver set oh man what are you gonna do Brian if this works I ain't never getting rid of this tractor I think he's gonna do a happy dance I'll put it in front facing which was up which way is that where's a pair of Nippers I need to undo this zip tie oh I got it you got it you got the nut on the left or the right I got the none on that side you fight it Brian you find it Brian yeah Brian's Guy Brian's got it we just got our new seat pulled out of the box and put up into the tractor all we have to do now is fasten it and it is good to go this is I have lumbar support well I have some good news we are all finished with working on the tractor for the day we have one more thing that we're checking on and that's just the wire that runs through it can run fine without it not a big deal but the chair is in place the parking brake works and now we're moving on to an exciting job [Music] so this is what we have waited all day for we have been excited for this uh getting out to the fields now why are we so excited to make it out to the fields today well we've got veggies to harvest now we have three varieties of peas out here but we're just gonna be harvesting two today we have the shell peas sugar snap peas and snow peas dad is going to be working on the snow peas this is kind of what we're looking for here we have some nice snow peas here that were really helped out by the rain and then everybody else including myself is going to be looking for sugar snap peas that's what we're looking for now you all know how I feel about Harvest and peas it is not my favorite job but guess what for the first time of the year it's okay I don't mind but only for the first time of the year every other time after this I'm not going to enjoy picking peas pick and peas is terrible but this is the best part about it right here it's like candy now the way that we Harvest these is we'll usually grab the plant and we'll lift up on it there's a lot of the peas that you harvest are actually on the bottom side of the plant you can see when I pull up on the plant there's a lot more here we're taking anything that has size to it the sugar snap peas you don't have to worry about them being too filled out but you don't want too small of peas we will come through and harvest another time so we're just taking everything large that we can see the people are going to want to know Joel how do you feel about picking peas mom always said if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all it's the first time not that bad well Dad are you at least excited yeah wow look at all that I wasn't sure if we were going to have a nice pea Harvest this year however I think all that late rain really pushed these along yeah there's more coming they look beautiful there's a lot more coming too see all the blossoms in here wow that is good [Music] and the area we live there is not too many vegetable Farmers that are raising peas that you hand pick like this there are about five or six farm markets that are relatively close but I think we're the only one that really raises this many peas now there are machines that you can use to harvest these we do not raise enough peas to Warrant having one of those machines even though I think it'd be nice to have one anyway but hand picking does take a long time so we do try and make sure we have plenty of people here to do it and sometimes it can take us all day but when the peas look like this well it's not near as bad I heard that would be terrible a few more people with us today we have Daniel myself Daniel and we also have Sophie and Uncle Albert with us they're doing a little bit of picking to help us get these done for the day okay we've made it about halfway throughout the field and we've got everything we wanted to harvest today two baskets of sugar snap peas and one basket of snow peas what's nice is Right Above This planting that we're harvesting right now we have a second planting of peas and they look really really good these have gotten a little more water in the developmental stage as compared to the other piece and we're thinking that this stuff behind us we're going to have a better Harvest with it although what we're picking right now is really nice now that we got everything harvested for the day we just need to not eat it on the way home and that's a bigger task than you think it is I mean they're just so delicious thank you before we leave we're checking on some of the crops we have some silage corn here this looks nice the silage corn had a very very slow start because of the dry weather now it's starting to come out and it's looking a lot better than we thought it was going to be the thing I wanted to check today was our sweet corn and check it out oh we've got tassel as you can see we are in the pollination stage with some of this sweet corn we need everything to fall off here onto the silk and that will help to produce our beautiful ears it wasn't too dry for these I am seeing one or two ears on each stock which is something that we enjoy seeing when it comes to hand Harvest we usually only get one ear off of a stock what we do with the rest of the stock is chop it up and feed it to the cattle and if there are any more ears on the stock well the cattle benefit from that these just came up over this rainfall these were all planted the same time but look at the difference here's some more over here see the smaller corn right along here and then there's the taller corn I don't know if it was a depth issue or what the problem was but some of this stuff sprouted from that earlier rain and then some later stuff came up from that more heavy four inches that we received I'm gonna take my time and drive home nice and slow so I don't spill any fees because you know what's worse than picking peas once bacon bees flies look what I got we got peas check it out and I know what you're thinking Megan yes we actually were excited to pick them here go ahead guess what oh they're fresh off the skillet we're trying to figure out pricing right now should be 550. 450. five bucks what do you guys think what do you guys think you think that's five dollars I think so no no you think 450 I think you should get 4 k 4 450 what do it for nothing how much would I bringing down the option oh see this is stressful what do you think uh for the snow peas Mom Mom what do you think for the snow peas look at that someone already took peas can you believe that people were excited about it well everyone it's that time of day we just got everything put into the cooler and the farm market is now closed Up All In All I think we're pretty excited about harvesting today I mean we've already harvested a few things of lettuce but with the peas I mean that's just icing on the cake that's like it is time to pick vegetables now type of feeling but we are done for the day and we are heading up to the house it didn't rain hard enough to wash away Callie and I's art we did the other day let's see let's see there's no dinner on the table what does that mean you're right it means it's date night and since it's date night that means this is where we're gonna end the video today I'd like to thank everyone for watching and hope to see you next time bye bye
