hey we're going to Ikea do you want to come Ikea no thanks wait a [Music] minute on second thought yeah I'll be right there we're going to hang back hey we're going to hang back we'll be in in a minute all right guys we're going to try to find a rock to make a pendant up or something just got to be something nice in this uh gravel bed here so start looking if you find anything nice show it to me so there's got to be like quartz or something in here maybe nice piece of unite there's some nice granates but Granite aren't going to cut it hopefully something with some silic in it maybe a nice piece of white quartz even there's some unite there but not exactly what we're looking for it's a piece of quartz but it's got too much dirty stuff in it not white enough this is interesting this is a piece of flow banded Rite and look at the flow patterns in that that's cool this could be a keeper so riight would be one of the things I would look for here right here so Travis spotted this one this is another piece of riight so this one is actually pretty interesting as well on this face it's got some really nice quarty bits I think we're going to take these two candidates home and cut them on the saw and see which one's going to be more suitable for a pennant so we knew we were going to come take a rock from this parking lot today and I know a lot of you out there the last time I took a rock from a parking lot didn't like it thought I was stealing the rock so what I did was I brought a rock from my garden you can see where I pulled out of the dirt from my rock garden in my house and I'm going to take this rock and replace it with this rock there's the hole where we took the Rock and we'll just plop it back in there no harm no foul everybody's happy so let's take this home and cut it up [Music] [Music] okay so here are the two slabs we got off of those two rocks both of the rocks are riight I can tell you all that rock in that parking lot comes from Nova Scotia it comes predominantly from the lawren toown till what they do is they screen it you know they get the three four to 5 in Boulders or cobbles that come off and then they use it as parking lot Rock Phil Rock and both of these came from somewhere in Nova Scotia now knowing the scen the color and the patterns of both of these Ry lights I can tell you this one most likely comes from the Bay of fundi um find a lot of this stuff up here the ver horizontal uh RI light with the with the red the deep red in it um that's that's typical of Baya fundi this stuff here where you see it's a little paler um a little more I guess pink and brown uh and a lot more quartz and kind of little caly pockets in it this is predominantly what you find here in the South Shore uh and the eastern shore of Nova Scotia so kind of cool two different RI lights from different two different parts of the province not sure which one I'm going to make dependent of might might do two just to see what they both look like as uh jewelry anyway I think they're both cool they're both super hard the saw I got a new saw blade on my saw there and there you it took took a while to get through that so um they're going to take a good polish pretty sure it's I mean it's Jasper and silica you know it should take a good polish so uh so yeah let's uh turn these into something beautiful first thing I'll do is I'll stencil up some uh patterns on there and then cut them on the trim saw then we'll head over to the the cab King and grind them up so uh we'll go through the process [Music] now [Music] [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] [Music] okay so here are two riight pendants uh here's the first one got a good shine on it I really like this one because it reminds me of Jupiter you know the you know the storm thing in Jupiter but anyway kind of looks like that uh yeah the horizontal banding just kind of centers the piece so I like I like how it fits in the bezel just picked a circular bezel uh put the high Dome on that one so uh yeah that one turned out pretty good and this one I really like this one just for How much quartz and little tiny agots in there he just got a lot of detail going on again I like how the horizontal pattern fits in the circular bezel so yeah pretty fun making those right from the Ikea parking lot just goes a show you can find beauty anywhere really you can make something out of anything and it'll work but that red jasper you know with the white just makes it a really attractive looking Rock So if you're new to the channel and you
