okay let's pray together Holy Spirit thank you for bringing us all here in your joy and your delight in your hope I feel how you have enjoyed bringing us all on our journeys to this place where we can meet each other and hear from these wonderful speakers even Katie oh [Applause] you can show somebody needs to get a picture today this is this is the mystery you have to figure this out you have to be careful when you pray around Katie see so we were in the middle of prayer old gods forgive us for our humor we invite you Holy Spirit this morning to do whatever you want to do inside of us because we trust you and Lord Jesus you are the definition of grace and we love you and it's almost unbelievable that you're as good as you are but we're believing in Papa forgive us all for the things that we have said about you and thought about you and today we ask you to to that Jesus turned the lights on inside of our darkness that we may see your real face amen okay I I've got a about 15 sermons that I'm gonna cram into one so there's gonna be a little bit of scatter at the first because I've got some thoughts for various folks here first the first is when Jesus transforms the water into wine he gets the servants to participate and it's kind of odd because if you can transform water than wine why do you need servants to get the water for you so John is using that story among other things to show us that Jesus is not gonna be Lord or Savior or healer or prophet priest and King without our participation he's not gonna bring healing to us without a participation another layer in the story of the transformation in the water to wine is that Mary of course comes to Jesus Jesus is like she says you know they have no wine and there's a tradition that says that this wedding was actually John's wedding the gospel writer and he was the first cousin of Jesus don't know for sure but that would explain why Mary would be the one that was concerned because it's family they have they run out of wine Jesus do something and jesus is woman you know what do I have to do with this this is not my hour and like we talked about all the time that Jesus only does what he sees his father doing he only says what he hears his father's thing and there's just like three four second interlude you can see Jesus walking away frustrated his mom's trying to manipulate him to play his cards before it's time to revealing accepted for it's time and then suddenly he turns around and performs this miracle and one day I was thinking about this I think that God the Father Almighty listens to Mary I think he said quiet in heaven this is the little girl who said yes to us she won't slide bring the good stuff that's like okay okay that's the chicken up chicken uh anointment there will be t-shirts next year second thing I want to say is in second Corinthians the Apostle Paul has seen these visions and it says that the Lord sent a messenger from Satan to buffett him which happens to be the same word used there that's used in the Sheep in the goat story that the Sheep get eternal life the goats get eternal buffeting it's just translated as condemnation it's just just so you know that's a freedom but it just strikes me I was talking to my friend Julian thinking about this and the answer that God gives to Paul when he prays three times two for this to be taken from him the answer is my grace is sufficient to you and I think what Jesus is saying to Paul is listen my grace means my presence in you and I see you Paul I recognize you Paul me Jesus you can let down the need to be recognized by anybody else on earth I recognize you I see you my presence my grace is sufficient and so I need to hear that this morning it's great to be on the stage and to speak and do that stuff but the recognition that my heart longs for does not come from you it comes from this circle here and it's the same that's true for you third point here we see the origin of all things this is the womb of creation and this is the womb of eschatology this is the womb of the future this is where it starts and this is where it would be forever and ever and ever and we sit here we've always been here we've never been anywhere but here but we have brought into the equation some rather profound darkness and confusion wheat our Papa space with the brush of our own anxiety we we dip paintbrush inside of our pain and we paint father's face with it and then we run and some of us for all our lives but it's important to see this visual incoming park here but there's another piece that I think it's important for you this morning especially when Katie's helping this process brad cept in this process and Paul does this in his inimitable way because what happens to me this is good I like being here I like sitting in the Holy Spirit's chair these days but there's this other thing over here it's inside of your brain too that I forgot the song listening but this is g.od the spaceless lameness omni being who watches you like a hawk from the infinite distance of a disapproving heart here you know you're loved and accepted here all you know is you're not good enough and you can self talk yourself for days and days and years and years and years but there's some fundamental problems here that I want you just to see and you can process that's on your own time when we talk about the love of God this is the love of God other centered sacrificial self giving love agape without conditions without cause without end an overflowing fountain an infinite overflowing fountain so when I'm parked here I understand that I am loved because this is what the Father Son and spirit do they don't love on Tuesday and Thursday they love on that but this is what I want you to feel inside of your your mind this morning this God does not love by nature from all eternity this God is alone by itself there is no one there to love until creation and what we're actually trying to do when we get caught up in this God and in this mythology is that the nation's calls it in this darkness in this religion what we're actually trying to do is to get God to do what God does not do and that is love us we have to get God to do what's not natural from all eternity you with me this is the conundrum this is part of the blockage right here we're trying by our performance in our goodness and all the crap that we manufactured to get God to do something that God has never done throughout all eternity and that is love someone other than itself this is why we're exhausted and bored and sad this is the truth this is what's we locked in and it's not just a theological lock it's a historical lock this crap is in our hymnology you got Bible verses that that you have underlined in your Bible right now that prove that this is the truth but when we with the early church the emergence cloud of witnesses you are more than welcome the emergence in history in Jesus through his apostles into the early church in the Nicene Creed which is the voice of the cloud of witnesses the emergence in human history of the vision of the Father Son and spirit the Blessed Trinity once we see this emerge in history we now have right here the light of life the light that shines before the creation of the world here we discovered the rhyme and reason of everything that is you with me beginning with Abraham in his paganism right here go up on the mountain and sacrifice your boy that's the cost what you do God takes you through this existential crisis on Mount Moriah he waits until that the knife is starting to come down he stopped seeing instance Abraham I'm gonna give you a lesson here about me that you did not know in your paganism you think I'm like this my name is Jehovah Jireh I provide you don't have anything to put on the table view that's not how that works this is fully any sufficient you with me that's the first break with religion and superstition at darkness and bondage and it's and see what's going on the Apostles are those people they saw it and so the Apostle Paul and John and Peter they realized that this did not start at Christmas 2,000 years ago this is the key that unlocks the entire story of creation the entire story of Israel the fall every bit of it is unlocked right here now this is our calling right now in the year 2018 as people who are standing who are standing in this dishing that began with Abraham and comes all the way through to Jesus and comes all the way through the Apostles we're standing with Paul and John and Peter and as a nation in our Elias and Saint Gregory we're standing with brothers and sisters this is the mainline and I've got a phrase for it if you don't know this but windows reverence come out of this world and try to shame you for what you're talking here bless your heart I'm not going back to Egypt call me what you want to call me I'm here we are standing in the family tradition this is not new modern evangelical theology or mythology is new that's the new kid on the block that didn't exist here it emerges in history we stand with the Apostles we stand with our fathers and mothers at nights there that is the Christian tradition and we now have had enough of this all over the world most people have left and they have to walk away from the Jesus thing for a little while because it didn't work and you're only going to walk into Jesus because he's in them and they're in him and the Holy Spirit wants them to know about it and they're gonna discover that they're here and then they're gonna discover that we're part of this magnificent remlick tradition so I will not allow anyone called my brothers and sisters new Maverick Leo whatever we're old original standing in the mainstream of historic Christianity what exactly are you doing over here what exactly are you doing taking this father and turning him into that God and taking this Jesus Christ and telling us that the Father the Son or split apart on the problem that is blasphemy that's what Nicaea saw this Sun this Sun is how most just tokachi of the same being as a father this is the most stable relationship in the cosmos there is nothing that can destroy this relationship even your blasphemous notions of Atonement Cana stroller this is what we count on the love of the Father Son and Holy Spirit nothing in creation can get inside of that even our darkness that we bring to it cannot destroy it people our brothers wrote it wrote it down in the Nicene Creed and they used that phrase khamoshi otto pachi of the same being because it was blowing everybody's mind because no one could conceive of that God ever getting his hands dirty and becoming a human being let alone going to become flesh then let alone go down to the mind and in everybody's mind that you will meet and let me tell you when you have invested to 35 years in way back to God number 16 a you have fully invested yourself in this position this is how you get this God to love us and bless us this is the right code to get the slot machine to work because he doesn't love you you invest it and now we've got 44,000 versions of our investments and we're all against each other because we have to be right you see what I'm saying there is a oneness in this room that will never come into being here because here I must be right and therefore you're wrong and if you don't shut up I'm gonna find a way to silence you and you and you and you and you and you and ice all we do is fight back it's what the prove that we right let me tell you the oneness that you feel in your heart that's this it is the Blessed oneness the face-to-face this the togetherness the absolute oneness of being in life here in the father-son spirit that's the oneness that you feel in this room and let me tell you that oneness is light and Jesus prayed for us when we live in this oneness the world will know the way forward is not merely by SIA logical argument the greatest argument the greatest argument that we have is freedom to be loved by father freedom to see what Jesus sees in people freedom to live in the delight of the Holy Spirit that speaks volumes that's the I started to say the trump card but well it is in the Holy Spirit's redeeming genius I don't know what number I'm on that number three I've missed numbered hi I got one in 1a and to be whatever whatever so I love the Holy Spirit sense of humor I just I mean that is that's taken me a long journey from that tight Calvinism to the place where I can I know that the Holy Spirit's hilarious and I look for and when you start looking for it you see it everywhere it's just I remember one time I was I was holding forcible yes and I heard the Holy Spirit say hey guys Baxter's holding forth on the being in nature of God again it's just like so enjoying life he's going far I remember when he was a Calvinist look at him now he's talking about the Trinity okay I'm not watching the part okay John 1:4 we didn't touch on this mutt to the other night in the beginning was the word and the word the son the Anointed One its face-to-face with the father in the bosom of the Father in the Holy Spirit all things came into being through this son I mean come on he just John just tells us straight away everything came into being through the son why are we running around telling people they're separated from God alienated in their minds but never separated we live and move and have our being in Jesus in the Father all things came into being through him and apart from him nothing is coming to being us come into being I just don't I don't want to ever graduate from marvel at that it's taken me way too long to realize what our brother John gave to us I'm not going I'm not next year we're gonna talk about this again if I get to come back in him was life or death which was created him in him was life and this light was the light the true light the true explanation of who we are where we come from in what our existence is about Jesus is the source of our existence and its meaning and if we do not know this we are doomed to create one hologram after another to try to give ourselves some sense of dignity and purpose we are doomed to create a religion that is holographic but it's all that we think we have because we don't know where we come from we don't know in whom we live and have our being and John is telling us that he picks up this theme again and again and again throughout his gospel and many years ago this is one of two verses that I prayed and asked Jesus to teach me one of three verses in John I asked Jesus I said would you teach me what you mean in this first because I know it's magnificent and I cannot see it and this is the verse I am the light of the cosmos the one who follows me shall never ever walk in the darkness but shall have experience see know the light of life I am the light of the Christians this this is not an invitation this is a declaration of reality this whole thing came into being in me for me and therefore I am its source and I am its meaning I am the life of the cosmos not I will be when you get your religion right not I will be when you can pump up your faith muscles I'm telling you before you know anything here's your source this is who you are this is who you will always be I am the light of the cosmos I am the light of the world I'm the light of the Muslims I'm the light fundamentalist Christians I'm even the light of the Presbyterians talking about surprised George McDonald standing in the midst of this mess good souls many will one day be horrified at the things they now believe of God there was an anomaly this person you won't read anybody in history that understands the father heart of God better than George MacDonald and that's because he knew he was seeking sitting right here face to face with the father and and that vision of the father did violence did violence to his vision of TOD and he was willing to let that go and that's why his writings are so full of the cascading love of the Father I am the light of the world Baxter if you will take sides with me against the way you think about my father if you will learn from me and use my eyes to see the father I promise you Baxter I'm taking you places experientially that you can't even dream of right now I promise you we're gonna dance and you can see the Holy Spirit's there oh yes oh yes you see we're sitting here face to face in Jesus and we're arguing with him we're bringing this into this conversation and in the everlasting mercy of the Father Son and spirit they love us it's okay we're gonna work this out I'm burying this this scorn Jesus is how I'm bearing this load this suffering because my creation in me has lost its mind and I'm giving a new mind and the Holy Spirit's turning the lights on it just takes a little bit longer then I would like you to take Baxter if you will take sides with me moment by moment I'm gonna teach you who my father really is and you're gonna be able to flush [Applause] how would you this the Holy Spirit had city permit I am the light of the world that is not an invitation it is a declaration of reality and a summons to walk with the light Jesus teach me dismantle everything in my mind rheem steam and dryclean it you do whatever you need to do with my thinking Apostle Paul says it beautifully in Romans 12 be transformed by the blowing of your mind what he's saying he's saying I promise you if you will let Jesus teach you about who God is there's a freedom here that you can't conceive of while you're locked in this man's it's a freedom here that you can't even begin to to talk about although we've got commentaries written on freedom in the fruit of the Spirit in this stream probably sermons that certain ones of us have preached over the years in that here's the darkness the darkness says you're included and you don't know it so you've created all these ways back to God that are not real and your children know they're not real that's where we are historically our children look like whatever most of us whatever I can't do this and we're beginning to discover what is and has been and always will be and that's this relationship of the Father Son and Holy Spirit don't take my word for it I don't want you to believe a single word I say I really don't I don't want that pressure I didn't come here to convince you that I'm right I came here to bear witness to what is and let it blow your mind so this theme of light and truth is running through John's Gospel you shall know the truth if you continue in my word Jesus says you'll know the truth he's not talking about the New Testament it wasn't written when he was said that what is he talking about he says if you continue listening to me and taking sides with me against the way you see my father against the way you see me against the way you see the Holy Spirit and against the way you see yourself right Katie and against the way you see your neighbor and against the way you see your enemy if you won't walk with me I promise you this that this world is going to change you're gonna change you're gonna be free and freedom beget freedom and it's intense the cost the sacrifice look at what happened to Jesus look at what happened to the apostles look at what happens in history wherever but the light bearers stand up in the midst of this they're going to be crucified but they're also going to be resurrected and many many many millions of people are going to see the light and come to it this theme was truth in life is marching through John's Gospel he knows from the very beginning who the truth is he knows it's Jesus he's dying to tell you but he doesn't want to ruin it because he knows if he tells you to quickly you're just gonna memorize the verse to move on what John is acting he's God he's written a manual but is designed to explode this thing it's not just the manual here's some insights you can live your life by he's a warrior he's after this thing being gone inside of your head that's why it starts here and most of us if you like leave spend most of our lives just yeah John that's nice but I got to get to the blood I got to figure out where you've got Jesus going on the cross and suffer from that God because I don't John's saying Jesus is the truth and remember this is this is a little theological exercise I think that the Apostle John 1ups the Apostle Paul he had 34 more years to work on it Monty I love I absolutely adore Colossians where Paul says cry this is the mystery hidden from ages in this conversation now being revealed here inside this darkness Christ in you the hope of glory I mean not he will be he is in you that's the light that's reality this is true before you believe it you understand what I'm saying this is true before you believe it my daughter Katherine was my daughter before she prayed to receive me into her life that's it that's it I think there's some more coming I am the light of the world I am the truth Christ in you the hope of glory is to be proclaimed to every person on earth as reality whether they know it or not how do we expect people to come to know something that's not already true and what is faith if it's not believing what is if it's not believing what is it's trying to create something that's not no faith is the lights going on and we suddenly see that we're in Jesus and even us and he did that by submitting to us now we've got of Jesus we can believe in and a father that he can teach us about that he can reparent us because all of us got parented pretty poorly did we not where are you gonna get repented right here I would take like to take credit for that but that is a masterful insight from dr. Bruce walk-up in Adelaide Australia and I expect it probably comes from his wife Belinda here is repenting Jesus I father can you be a father I didn't have and for me I love this one and you have permission from the family tradition to refer to the Holy Spirit is mother spirit I like that holy spirit would you be my mother would you comfort me in the journey through that hard hard place when it looks like I'm the only one that's lost my mind would you hold me mother spirit when I cannot escape the devastating conclusions of my dad on earth I can't get the memories gone or what happened to us in the in those systems holy spirit would you just sing your song over me Paul says Christ in you the hope of glory do you think that the Apostle Paul would have dared to walk into a synagogue to argue theologically with people that he had probably trained if he didn't know Jesus was already enemy he proclaimed it it was going to go off in here it would have been just the theological argument whose interpreted in the Old Testament right we've been having that for all the years of Israel's history we've been having in Christianity since then but no Jesus is in us and when we proclaim Christ in you the hope of glory Jesus testifies inside of you that this is true the barrier at least you begin to suspect it and maybe it's true and you can ask about it and look into it that's the argument that's how it's one it's not theological if it was theological it would be I have to go convince you and if I get you convinced today then I got to convince you tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day and all this pressures on me to keep people convinced that my way back to God is right and not the others total waste of time Jesus is in you he's bearing witness to the truth and the Holy Spirit's bearing witness to the point to where the Holy Spirit's paying Abba Father which is the exclusive only person in the cosmos that has that relationship with the father from all eternity as Jesus and he's put that inside of you and the Holy Spirit speaks it not just dad not just Oh God but papa you had to be kidding me I got a Papa like this Jesus is saying I can tell you that's true this father does not do abandonment there's not a repenting bone in father's heart I know I went to the bottom of the abyss and I trusted him there and guess what happened he I fell in his arms I couldn't see my couldn't see me but I knew him and the Holy Spirit's there and then this thing called the resurrection comes up out of the belly of the beast and the abyss of non-being Paul declares the mystery hidden in past age is now being manifested inside of your heart Christ in you the hope of glory Christ in you the unearth the assurance that this is true based not on your theological reasoning but on the witness of the Holy Spirit but I st. John yes maybe it's not a right way to say Trump's Paul he went up some but you see for us when we hear Christ in you the assurance of glory there's a danger what's not said in those words what is Christ what is Christ what does that mean Messiah Messiah The Anointed One see the danger for us and this is what we're all victims of an oyster one we think of an individual who did something for us 2,000 years ago and we got to figure out how to make all that happen because when we save the name of Jesus we don't think anointed in the Holy Spirit face to face of the same being with the father we can talk about Jesus in you but Jesus is saying I don't go anywhere without my father I don't go anywhere without my anointing in the Holy Spirit and I have pitched my tent at the bottom of your abyss at the bottom of the abyss and I hold this universe together I hold you together not simply as Jesus but as the father's son and is the one anointed in the Holy Spirit the Trinitarian life of God is what's holding us together in the person of Jesus so when John gets ready to summarize the heart of the truth the light the gospel that's been hidden but now being manifested he has a little twist I'm certain that the Apostle Paul if you ask him what he meant by Christ he meant all of this but I'm just talking about us reading it John says from Jesus and I absolutely loved the fact that our brother John was listening to the Holy Spirit took notes on this because this is not in any the rest of the books john has Jesus say this in that day in that day when I pour out the Holy Spirit or my father pours out the Holy Spirit in me in that day you are going to come to know that I am in my father and you are in me and I am in you he doesn't say in that day I'm gonna give you a new rededicate er that's got an eternal battery pack so you can constantly rededicate your life I'm not gonna give you a new safe pump he says you're gonna come to know as reality something that you did not know before something that you never suspected aiding Williams Macallan and all of your work Aidan never was able to look inside of his own heart because he told he was told his whole life he was separated from God he's trying to figure out how to get back in that day you will know that the whole of this creation your life mine our grandchildren great-grandchildren all of this mess you're gonna know that I am in my father I am the one who believes I am the one who knows and sees my father face to face it's been this way for all eternity I know my father loves me he knows I love him in the Holy Spirit this is not going anywhere so my point is for the first 2,000 years we should have been saying this is what it's about it's about the relationship of the father and the son it's about the relationship of the son and the father Jesus told us no one knows the father but the son neither does anyone know the son but the father in those two who can Jesus wills to reveal him well who does he want to reveal his father to the whole creation this is about their relationship it's not about your faith it's not about your obedience it's not about your performance it's about you discovering it's about this relationship in that day when the Holy Spirit comes before all the boom Shakalaka has happened in all the signs and wonders and all the things that we go running out comes for all of that here's what the Holy Spirit's gonna do every time every single time the Holy Spirit's at work it's you gonna see Jesus and his father and if you're not hearing about Jesus and the father it's not the Holy Spirit it's religion if all you ever hear about in churches your faith your repentance you're giving your tithing that's not coming from the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is always the testimony of Jesus and his father always because the Holy Spirit knows when we see this we get everything else and the Holy Spirit knows if we don't see this and we've got all these things all we are doing is playing Harry Potter trying to rest out some kind of power to accomplish our wheel no no no here this is our fathers and mothers at Nicaea going back to the Apostles going back to Jesus when the Holy Spirit comes the Holy Spirit is going to show you that I am in my father and the father is in me and that is an unbreakable relationship and you can count on that you see that's where we need to Park when your heart is not astonished and you're getting depressed and you're getting discouraged you stop the drop and roll right here and you come back and you marvel at the way the Father loves his son and the way the son loves the father in the freedom of the Holy Spirit now you're ready to hear and discover something about you that has been true before you believed it you don't make it true it is true this is why John uses the word truth you can translate that word in John's Gospel as reality this is reality you're going to discover the most mind-boggling simple fact in the cosmos I am in my father and you are in me I did that that's what Jesus is saying you're not in me because of the veracity of your faith you're in me because I'm your Creator and I've come and found you in the darkness and your contribution was to crucify me your contribution was to blaspheme me and hand me up in my broke broken body and blood and offer that back in disdain to the father and Papa says I embrace you right there we're gonna make this thing called a new creation how about this nuke nuke up how about this be the mercy seat let this be atonement we offer Jesus to the Father in our disdain and disgust Papa embraces this and says I received you in my son I receive your offering this is the gospel in that day you're gonna know that he's in the father and fathers in him and you're in him and he did it and your contribution was apostasy I just now we can believe because now we're not trying to believe to get in or to get something from God faith is a discovery of what is it takes your breath away you can walk faith is not the fruit of something you do to get across a divided faith is discovering Jesus inside of your own journey in your heart and your life he did that now I can rest if I'm included because of what Jesus has done for me and creating me and because of what I've done to him by crucifying him I can rest there is no rest in any of these systems there's no rest in any of them and the people at the head of these systems have no rest because they have to keep their guards up because they've got all these people thinking you've got to be right so you got to look right here's what's beautiful about the gospel is this the people that are broken the people that have failed miserably they've fallen out here bleeding out on the steps they're the ones to get to discover the thing cluded the cost of their failure you honestly believe that this whole thing has been dependent upon Adam listen to this listen to this blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with the Holy Spirit in person just as he chose us in him before the time of the ages that we should be holy and innocent face-to-face with the father in the son in the spirit he predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to himself this is Paul but listen to me are you listening to this how can you predestined someone to adoption through Jesus if the whole thing haven't been given in his hands before it started he chose us in him not in Adam not in the church not in your faith he chose us in him who is the father going to in trust with his heart and his vision for his creation Adam Eve Israel priests prophets Kings the church come on there's one Good Shepherd before the Big Bang the father says I want them with me in you face to face knowing what it means to hear you are my beloved in whom my soul delights knowing what it means to experience the absolute delight and joy of the Holy Spirit I want them with me Jesus I'm putting you in charge you're the Good Shepherd you go get them and bring them home to me and I've got your back Holy Spirit says I'm in didn't they say let us begin and let's create this mess here this mess here bless our hearts we actually have reduced our Lord Jesus Christ to being a footnote to Adams fall Jesus is nothing more than then Plan B it's a half-time adjustment the plan failed enable the father-son spirit screams wrestling what we gonna do now and Jesus will all go in no all of that was decided before creation so we were found in Jesus before we were ever lost in Adam predestined before the foundation of the world that we should be adopted as sons I know that word bothers some people but let me tell you there's only one eternal son and what the word adoption means is you've been given place in Him you don't have a second life what you have inherited in Jesus is Jesus and his relationship with his father and his anointing in the Holy Spirit and his relationship with all creation that's what the kingdom is the kingdom is Jesus's relation with his father his anointing in the Holy Spirit his relationship with every creature and creation all human race come into living vivid personal expression in you and me in our own unique individual ways alright John fourteen twenty in that day and the day is every day the day is the moment of the Holy Spirit the hour of the Spirit and understand the holy spit at the bit you don't have to press in and call the Holy Spirit down the Holy Spirit is the one giving birth to all of this and it's like it's like a grandmother that can't wait for the grandchildren to come over that's the Trinity the treaty's like can you believe this we're going to blink on a crit let's let's back make some plans and let's let's make some big plans mountains streams rivers children food wine this may click on that's in place because the father-son dispute or anticipating our arrival every grandparent and another dad knows this so we either have a greater love for our children that are not yet here but we know they're coming and we prepare for them we either have a greater love for them or then the father-son spear or we're participating in that joy I feel the Holy Spirit it'll heights like come on look at what's going on in this room I remember when you and you and you were lost in just undiluted fundamentalism and you that the Lord is casting out in front of us so that we can grow up into it we're not there most of us like I always for me I'm like a windshield wiper Father Son and Holy Spirit I'm all in and then something happens to keep I'm right back over here and I need you I need you to help me get out of this and come back here I need Bonnie to pray for me like she has for years and the pasta and the ninjas because we get caught right back in here and there's millions of people that will tell us well this is the truth it's this fellowship so that astonished heart ignites a conversation inside of you you don't have to apply and astonished heart to your life you don't need ten steps of what to do to look astonished Oh second thing second thing go oh yeah astonishment ignites the conversation which creates party see inside of you confidence freedom unearthly assurance about yourself and others and you get to walk in that and when you fall over here the darkness the brothers and sisters bring you back because we're going to do that and that's okay it's part of our learning who we are but the day will come where we will smell this from a thousand yards and we'll hit flush before you even gets anywhere around let me tell you people people pray oh Jesus just come back and fix this mess here's my eschatology Jesus is growing up the human race moment by moment so they can know what is and we will kick Satan's ass out of this tree we don't want this anymore it may take us another fifty thousand years but that's a lesson we will learn and we will learn it in our guts it's not theology that's exactly right I see Satan fall like lightning so this is enough to see the father-son relationship blessed John he saw it and he left us a beautiful story I mean it there's 215 15 then you're gonna discover that you're included in this and I did that and your contribution was to kill me you see that played out in the John's gospel with theater being restored but there's a third part of this the third dimension go figure three three things will come to note the third thing is and I'm in you not I will be this is when Jesus says if you take sides with me and what with me if you listen to me Baxter you are going to see through the confusion and you will see the light of life the mystery the reality of what is going on on this planet right now all the time whether we've got eyes to see they're not and that is that Jesus is already in you he's in me he's in everyone he did that I recognize that that scandalizes a lot of people and it's okay go on and be scandalized now because I tell you we have underestimated this person we've made him a footnote to Adam which means he has no meaning in God's creation unless Adam had a botched it rather than following it finally following the Apostolic mind and seeing that this was all set out before the creation in the world and we were right on schedule the Holy Spirit set it up for another great moment in history of Revelation and here's what we're going to discover in the midst of this is that Jesus is already in us he's already in our neighbors he's already in our knees and we are going to be discipled by Jesus to see this the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom that's Bible is it not like three four five times in Proverbs and songs the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom somebody please tell me what to do when I'm afraid of the Lord so it will look like I'm wise what about this the recognition of the sacred presence the recognition of the sacred presence of the Father Son and Holy Spirit in every person moment and place is the beginning of wisdom the recognition of the sacred presence not absence of the Father Son and Holy Spirit in that Trinitarian life in every person moment and place is the beginning of the end of religion and the beginning of seeing what is what Jesus said promised the light of life seeing the kingdoms presence you with me let me say that again when the windshield wiper goes off and you trigger and you flip back over here and you're scared to death and you don't know what to do you stop drop and roll right back here and you say Jesus I want to recognize the sacred presence of you and your father and the Holy Spirit right now give me eyes to see this because it's here and it's all I need to Spanish my heart all over again but I gotten lost I can't see it Jesus turn the lights on the recognition of the sacred presence of the one true God Father Son and Holy Spirit in every person moment and place is the beginning of wisdom it's the beginning of seeing what is it's the beginning of experiencing the light of life because we're now walking in the light not in the darkness the recognition of the absence of the father son and spirit in every person moment in place leaves you with a world blown apart you now have a sacred part of life that we will come up with in our little world over here and a secular part of life and let me tell you that is what is destroying your heart it is why people do not come to church is because their humanity has been checked at the door why we go do the spiritual god thing where we are is that we recognize the absence of the Father Son in spirits in people because we think they're outside they're separated but the minute we do that we have created the most bizarre blindness in the universe one of my favorites I get a phone call at 10:30 one night from a friend of mine let's say her name is Carly and Carly says I know it's late backs but my husband told me you stayed up all night anyway probably fed it she so of course I had some cake you know and she said they left and I just had that I felt like I swallowed a basketball she said I felt like I was pregnant again and I didn't know why and I just I couldn't sleep it's just troubled me and she said I talked to my husband and she he said that's the Baxter question so she said can you help me and I said yes I can't help you I said those men wanted you to pray to receive Jesus Christ into your life did they not yes that's why they came and I said when you tell someone to pray to receive Jesus Christ in your life let's say they're 35 years old what you have just told them at the same time that there is no Jesus in the first 35 years of their life you with me this is the darkness there's a that man told you that there was no Jesus in your 18-year marriage there is no Jesus in your relationship with your three children that I know you you would die for them you see the confusion that happens and didn't let's say she does pray to receive Jesus into her life this moment now she has to have a supernatural marriage and a supernatural relationship and all these grandiose stuff and you can't see what is there is no child on this planet in history that got here in any way other than through the Father Son and Holy Spirit motherhood friendship fatherhood grandfather hood is a participation in this reality whether we see it or not and we dare not come walking along and tell people that their children are outside because they haven't prayed yet or the children hadn't prayed yet we recognize and we all do it I mean I can show you a picture you can show me a picture of your grandbaby right now and everybody in this room is gonna go oh my gosh that's recognizing now we've got a theology that allows us to celebrate the gift that's given to us but we've inherited a mythology that divides our world and we can't see what is and so we're trying to get people who are Kooks people who make fishing lures people who are grand moms and grand dads people who have a gift of being there for for people in the trenches of the darkness in the middle of the night we're trying to get all these people the firemen the baseball players the astronauts we're trying to get them all over here to pray a prayer so they can be in our group rather than recognize them you will never meet a human being that did not come into being through Jesus sacred president not absent here now with us this is what Jesus means is you will know the light of life you're gonna see why you care so much about bread you're gonna see why you care so much about fixing people's lawns you're gonna see why you care so much about writing about music about fishing about hugging about making sure no one's left behind all of this is already in you it's already happening we didn't know to call it Jesus then we've overlaid it with the mythology that says none of that chole and we're telling this dear woman who loves her husband and her three children that there is no Jesus in all of that then that's darkness that's the confusion that's not the light of life that's the darkness of death and many of us have drunk that kool-aid and we've gone on now to try to perform like we have even more Holy Ghost laws than we had before what a hamsters will you understand now why Timothy second Timothy the Apostle Paul knows his moment is coming where he is going to graduate from this fight into the cloud of witnesses and you can feel his heart o Timothy guard guard what has been entrusted to you in the Holy Spirit if we lose this we're back to posing and pretending and playing games and there's no astonished heart there's no ignited conversation there's no pareció there's no period Croesus there's no community there's no relationship it's all a ruse Timothy my son you know this guard it with your life see to it that no one takes this from you proclaim it preach it fight for it defend it but don't lose it if we lose this vision of Jesus and his father in the Holy Spirit we don't have anything to say not even to ourselves let me clues all of this for now because the ignited conversations that never end somebody said to me the other day some men Baxter I've kept like five million questions in my head now I said well welcome to my world because you're gonna get more I'm gonna close in just a minute with a song the the second of the two that Christ before me by our three and mining where's Paul being here he just stepped out Paul and I know a man named Malcolm Gordon in New Zealand he wrote they even write this song that he sings but before we get there let me tell this quick story this I love the The Master carpet weaver on earth has a six year old daughter and for two years she has been pestering him to let her help him make a carpet and so on her sixth birthday he decides I'm gonna give her her needles and I'm gonna teach her three stitches and we're gonna make a carpet so he teaches her she's so excited something hard to breathe he teaches her three stitches and he starts her own this end and he starts on this end and he's watching her and she does not get a single stitch right not one not one but he's so good and he so loves his granddaughter that he incorporates all her mistakes into the overall design of the carpet so that when it's finished it's a masterpiece you see this God doesn't take up any of your mistakes this God turns them into sacraments not just of carpets because you're not a carpet to your person and you're becoming a sacrament by the way the Father Son is feet are able to weave your mistakes into their world you become a living sacrament of Trinitarian life of God that's what we're talking about I don't know enough to even know how to begin the carpet I used to think I did I used to think I had it all figured out I think it's the most wonderful thing in the world that I can tell my granddaughter Caroline you don't have to get it right baby we have a friend that takes our wrong and turns it into right we have a genius Holy Spirit that knows how to take your broken stitches and turn them into sacraments of the living presence you don't have to live in fear that you made it wrong and now I've got God's plan me I've got God second best because I made a mistake let me tell you the Holy Spirit specializes in your mistakes being turned into revelations of Jesus Christ in you with this father there's no place you can learn this any better than when you know stive in yourself righteousness or in your life or your darkness and you create a mystery set and that's where Papa shows up and let me tell you when Papa shows up inside the abyss in Jesus in the Holy Spirit's you have something to believe that you didn't make so and it's never going away and then you can begin to watch how Papa and the redeeming genius that is the Holy Spirit weaves your life into something that you couldn't anticipate during the prayer time Brad when you were leaving us know Katy and I was praying for us to take the person and I suddenly saw this person become this huge angel full of the light and the glory and the joy of the Father Son in spirit right in front of me I thought I don't even know how to pray for that I don't have to the Holy Spirit is the one that wants that to happen this is her world to this Jesus this world so we can drop our perfectionism take the pressure off of our children to perform with us in this system let them be have relationship with them and watch the master carpet waver turn us off from glory to glory amen behind me Christ both me and B know everything is sagging and everything is blessed everyone made one needs find it holy dearest everyone belongs here everyone is loved every life that's fame grace
