hello and welcome back to the channel my name is Jake you can call me atrocious if you like and today we have the I preliminary championships in Japan now this is op5 and you may be wondering Jake why are we talking about op5 you've done oppo6 videos of commentary on the channel already and because with op5 going on already done in Japan this is the later portion of op5 America is getting ready for Nationals coming up at the end of January so if you're looking to get some tips maybe you're like myself maybe not the most experienced player ever going into your first major event like this maybe you want to get some tips and tricks this might be a good Championship to watch now as usual with these commentary videos I do not own the rights to this content this is the official stream over on their YouTube channel the link will be down in the description below that you can watch if you don't want to hear my commentary but for those of you that do welcome so as usual with these championships they show off the top 16 matches so this top 16 top eight top four and then the final in this meta The op5 Meta over in Japan sakazuki dominated so as you can see up top there's eight different sakazuki decks five katakuri decks two purple Luffy and one red Zoro in this match we are going to be not showing the winner yet but going into Zoro versus sakazuki now Zoro being the tried and true of many for a long time might be one that people play over at Nationals and with sakazuki being one of the best decks it could be a good option so Zoro just draw passing on turn one and then sakazuki using leader effect and then passing on turn two now we have the two joh turn from Zoro now they've got a couple Brooks in hand one of the op5 Nico Robbins no need to play that yet you can wait for like a Rebecca to come down to play that cheap cheap card going to be opting for the Brooke and with that Brooke being on play put two radon and one of your characters or leaders going to be attaching that to the Zoro for a 7K swing probably going to leave this Dawn open I think I saw they had radical beam in hand but sakazuki looks like they are going to have a a great eruption now great eruption is actually a great trigger card in this matchup because Zoro is going to be playing small small bodies they're just going to be spamming bodies on the board so great eruption you're not going to need too many different effects to lower the cost so with great eruption on trigger your opponent trashes one card from their hand they're going to trash that firefist and sakazuki is going to go into their for Dawn turn starting off with leader effect trashing the borino and I think grabbing a Kon I saw going to be swinging sakazuki five into leader going to be taking that hit and it's going to be a rush Luffy so pretty good card I will say especially the unblockable part of it could be really really good later in the game and going to be resting foron here going to be playing a borino just get a Blocker on the field you know to uh potentially prevent some life ticking cuz again they're going to spam small bodies on they've got some rushers as you can see there's a rush Zoro and a rush Luffy in their hand so into the five Dawn turn for Zoro we'll see how they play it out now wouldn't surprise me to see the uh Brook that Brook that we saw played last turn and they've got two of the Luffy in their hands so this will be interesting saving the brook potentially for a Luffy that way you can Max imiz all you're Dawn and put it on the Luffy to be able to uh get that unblockable gate that you're trying to look for so going to be taking their first Dawn on the five Dawn turn attaching it to Zoro and Swinging going to be swinging six at leader and just using 2K counter that Brook now because of zoro's leader effect is going to be at 4,000 power so going to be instead opting to swing seven with Zoro here the rush Zoro kind of prioritizing potentially keeping this Brook alive now I don't know if I necessarily agree with it I feel like I might have gone wide with a swing a five swing with Brooke and then a six swing with the rush Zoro simply because they play something like sakazuki or I'm sorry Rob Luchi that can get rid of both characters so you're kind of like trying to save on things like uh characters on the field to attack later then maybe you want to do that but this person's in top 16 of a championship preliminary and I barely go 500 at local so we'll see exactly how this kind of plays out so going to be taking that KO on that 5K swing at the Zoro opting not to do any counter on it and then going to be using leader effect to discard the kuon and then lay down two Dawn to use brand new going to be finding two great eruptions and then a Hina going to be Gra in the Hina they might play that Hina raw from hand right now and that's what it looks like they're actually not going to do they're going to instead use it on the borolo and I do like this play better um because with the sakazuki leader effect you can just discard the Hena and it's easy to combo with that Rebecca that they have at the end of their hands so the Zoro player on S Dawn now did draw a Searcher Nami which could be good to grab another Rush Zoro they've got seven Dawn to work with might be working in that Brook on the field now in terms of attacks be interesting to see how high they swing with characters like Brooke because of borolo being a 6K body Blocker on the opponent's turn maybe try to bait like cards um instead of just a regular block so going to be grabbing that two drop Sanji it's going to be a 2K counter which is always nice and with that activate main effect it looks like they're going to be playing it right away or wanting to play it right away maybe and we'll see where it goes if they did play that down they'd have four more Dawn to work with which is a pretty good amount of Dawn I wouldn't be uh I wouldn't be too worried about that you would get a body down it wouldn't be able to attack this turn but it could be nice you're already got your sakazuki opponent at two life now and it looks like they're going to be using that other Brook now on that Zoro swinging seven into leader and this is what I mentioned earlier going to be trying to get bodies to block and then also get cards out of it using a 2K counter tashigi and that one tashigi not really needed in this matchup I feel like any more than a 2K counter but we'll see exactly how it goes with four Dawn left in this turn they could save one of the dawn for a radical beam they could attach some of it to the brook I don't really think they have anything else to play Down except for that Sanji which they may be saving it for as counterpower uh with the brand new because you always know that Hound Blaze is a factor and especially with brand new brand new is a typical Target for Hound Blaze and it looks like they're going to put two Dawn on the Brooks so this should be swinging 6K at the leader and going to be blocking again and grabbing another card on top of that and leaving no Dawn Open putting down that Sanji I do like this play again just with these small small bodies they're going to be knocked down and especially with a card like Hound Blaze that could be coming uh anytime it seems like in the future now that brand new's on the field and they do actually have one in hand it's as good of a time as ever to just put down more and more bodies it's going to be a 5k swing it looks like it's going to be at Brooke minusing the Sanji so we could see the Rob Luchi that they have in hand played this turn koing both the Brooke and the Sanji because that would be two one in terms of characters I would like to see that they do have the draw Hena in hand and it looks like they are going to play that they do have five Dawn left so it could be good to still use the Rob Luchi and I would love to see leader effect on this Hina to draw a card right here and it looks like they are going to do that going to be drawing a Rebecca blocker which could be pretty good for the later part of the game and yes going to be doing that Rob Luchi going to be putting uh three cards back two uh three great eruptions all three great eruptions already seeing three of them so really good with you need to draw a cards so going to be getting rid of those two really making that Sanji drop feel bad in my opinion and now they've got some decisions it looks like they're just going to leave one Dawn open I mean you don't really need to commit it anywhere you'd rather have these blockers for the uh pesky swings that they may do with like Nami and Zoro and stuff so I don't hate the play that they did I actually think that's probably the most optimal play cuz what you want to do with Zoro you want to uh negate as many bodies as possible on the Zoro player because if you do that then they're really only Swinging with leader and maybe one other character and eventually they run out of steam they don't have the raw draw Power like you do as sakazuki with leader effect so you could if you just maintain it may be scary a little bit you know they lost two life very quickly in this match but they're starting to stabilize a little bit I feel like in this battle so going to be attaching at least one Dawn to the Zoro I'd imagine that we'll see the rush Luffy come down this turn and it looks like they're just going to block and counter out with that Rebecca Rebecca having a 1K counter is so good how why does that card have counter on it but going to be using the other one drop Nami that they got and going to be looking probably going to be looking for uh Zoro I think is probably the best option that they have there there might be a rad beam in there I know there's a couple muras and a buggy uh I can't tell what that alternate art is this camera angle is terrible come on and it looks like they're going to potentially be grabbing this other card I think it's a rad beam I think that's what it is so deciding between rad beam and Zoro if I had to choose I think I would honestly choose Zoro but they're choosing rad beam instead on this deciding that it's probably best to save those now having two rad beams in hand for the big swing turns that the sakazuki could provide so going to potentially be using more D again no use for Nico Robin yet because there's no Hina or I'm sorry Rebecca on field that's the one that you like to use it on and going to be using that Luffy right now we'll see if they want to attach any Dawn to it looks like they're thinking about one maybe thinking about doing both of them you could and it looks like they're going to be doing the one into life it is unblockable and I don't mind this play there's a couple different options that you could have done you could have done face into it and then swung six with nami with the other two Dawn but I feel like going a little bit wider like that may not be as beneficial to your game plan because you're trying to whittle down in life you're trying to get them as low to life as possible because you do have that card the rush Luffy you have another one in hand so could opt to play that for the final life and going to be swinging six at the Luffy no radical beams able to be played and going to use that Robin right there the robin you know they're not showing Hina they've already got five bodies on board more than likely not going to be playing over too many and so they probably think Rebecca's not not really going to come down and so now what they're doing is they're swinging six at Luffy again it's going to have to go down because there's nothing else that they can do and so now it's time for the 10 done they've got a couple options they've got some Hound blazes that they can use to get rid of the namis pretty much guarantee one maybe two swings next turn with the Zoro looks like they're going to be attaching one Dawn to the Hina and swinging five at leader going to be taking that it's going to go in hand it looks like it's a magora right there so we'll see how that goes and it looks like they are actually just going to be playing over the Rob Luchi very interesting I don't know if I would have oh that's a really cool combo actually that's something very interesting that they just did this is a really cool line of play as sakazuki they had five people on board while playing this Rebecca so what they did is they played down the Rebecca over the Rob Luchi the Rob Luchi instantly goes into trash right then the onplay effect happens onplay effect grab a black character between three and I think it's five in terms of cost and then put it in your hand then play down a three cost uh or less characters so going to be playing this brand new or no going to be playing something else over the brand new I think playing it over that brand new going to be using that rushi probably to take out the double Nami and put down a couple cards back there they go clearing the board entirely and adding another Blocker on top of it the perfect amount of dawn to be able to pull that off now Zoro now going into the tend Dawn turn all they really need is just one attack to stick and then they have the rush Luffy but I think if you've played against Zoro enough you know that you're not going to let that attack go through you're just going to immediately block with things and we'll see how this plays out it looks like they are going to play that Luffy now going to be attaching to Dawn to it and rushing going to be taking that life there and I don't know what they're going to do after this going to be keeping the ton open for the rad beams passing into the turn so they are expecting I guess you could say there's two there's two different options that the Zoro is trying to go for they're either trying to keep this Luffy alive as long as possible or bait out all of the blockers right if he can get the borolos to swing especially the second borsellino to swing at the Luffy and maybe another blocker doesn't come down that means that Zoro is free to attack with no blockers standing so we'll see how this goes they've got the ability to get Luffy down to one cost so when surprising me you see a Hound Blaze being what puts this Luffy off of the field and at the bottom of the deck you could go like meteor volcano you could use the uh to minus two you could then then use sakazuki to minus one so it would actually put them at two cost not one my math was wrong I majored in touchdowns in college not basic elementary math but going to be putting that Luffy down to two to then bottom Deck with the H Blaze right so could be interesting to see how they play out this tend Dawn turn they're eyeing up six and four the six May what would the six be their hand and has a suru in it they do have suru to lower the cost even more if they want to they do have another Borsalino Blocker in hand that might be what that four is for um it looks like they got two seus in hand two of these beautiful beautiful alternate surus um so pretty interesting path I do feel like they've got a pretty good shot if they just go ahead and try to bottom deck the Luffy um but I guess there's always that um there's always that possibility that they could find another like Luffy to do it I mean top Tech Luffy here would win if you escape out of this turn so maybe the sakazuki player is more focused on trying to win the game now that they're at zero life not 100% sure what they want to do here but that five is going to be blocked by the mura and so unless you get all four characters swinging to stick I don't know if you're going to be able to win this game so you might have to go in the more defensive route just be a little bit more patient with this but you do have the two 2K counters and then a borino that's only five though so five wouldn't stop another Luffy that comes down it looks like that one card is that the is that the straw hat Searcher event card that they have in their hand I'd love to see that one more time another pitch of the kuon though grabbing a Hena in the draw and going to be doing two Dawn to go ahead and do the four and it's going to get that four cost Luffy there because of the uh oh did they use metor volcano and then Hound Blaze I think they did actually so that makes way more sense going to be swinging with enina there I do believe that was Hound Blaze boosted so going to be hitting into life did that is the straw hat Searcher card by the way so if that finds that they might actually the Zoro might actually win this game um the Zoro list though a lot of the Zoro list that I saw during The oppo5 Meta usually only play two um two Rush Luffy so one of the rush Luffy got ko'ed early and the other one got bottom decks so the Straw Hat Searcher is not going to do it in terms of attacking so unless they're playing a third that we don't know about or they get through these uh couple swings here they might be in business if they find a rush Zoro so going to be taking that 7K swing in it's going to be a Brooke right there and now with six Dawn left it looks like we'll see how the sakazuki player tries to finish the game I do feel like this is more towards the end of the game um in terms of this could actually be the final turn but even then like I don't know and I don't think it would be because of those rad beams definitely think if you have the opportunity to block the rad beam Do It um so if like the and the thing is is the sakazuki has to choose whether or not they want to swing with like borino and I don't think they're going to after playing that Hina now going to be playing that three drop Hina to draw a card and just pass it into the Zoro players turn so this draw right here what's it going to be I don't see it I don't see it what is it it looked like it I can't tell it looks like it was a Sanji so two drop Sanji not going to do it with you not going to do it for you in this I think probably what's going to happen is are going to play that Searcher card it could find diabl jambe if they do find diabl jamb I don't think we've seen one yet in this game Diablo jamb would do the job and get the win so we'll see where it is and that's that's them right there just talking about Dia JBE as well so it looks like the Zoro player in their list is playing some Diablo J potentially sorry it's like midnight by me going to be playing the uh the Searcher and it looks like they did not find it going to be finding the Nami but the Nami could find the diabl jamb so that's one less Dawn but I think could still get you the game trying to find the Luffy or the diabl jamb finding the Luffy the Luffy could be good but because your opponent is sakazuki you haven't seen auru all game I think you've only seen like one or two tashigi so now you're worried about the counterpower so grabbing what do they grab they're swinging six first going to be swinging six at life and I don't know what do they grab I think they grab the Luffy I don't I don't really know if I agree with that to be honest I don't know if I agree with the six because they have the Bor selenos there and then now like you could have had one more done right you're only swinging eight now this is two 2K counters and well it's going to be a 9k swing I'm sorry so yeah I don't know why you ever I don't know why you ever swing there I mean we knew their hand we knew that their hand had stuff in it right and if they had a if they had a blocker right if they use the blocker instead of maybe me countering out of it then they had way too much counterpower to get around the Zoro but no I I mean you just lose the game now but it it is going to be countered out of that and they're just going to pass the turn over to sakazuki and it looks like sakazuki with four bodies on the board five in total that can swing with also a Hound Blaze looks like they're going to be able to get this one done all the matter is though especially because they didn't leave two of the rad beams open so they're going to swing seven going to be blocking with a 1K and a 2K the curly toan and the Sanji just going to be trying to stall as long as possible what could win you the game here I don't know if really much can win you the game outside of like jet pistol potentially but I don't even think at that but the five K swing going to be the Brooke only got two cards left probably just going to once just go on wide swinging the Hina and oh my gosh he just got the diabl jamb off life the diabl jambe that he was looking for with nami Searcher and the straw hat search was in his last life now I don't if you can play for something like that I tried to almost never play off of something being in life cuz it's so improbable especially in this matchup where you can't manipulate Dawn but oh man that feels so bad I wonder if he'll tell him afterwards to be like hey I got the I got the jamb by the way so going to be bottom decking the Nami and this is more for the Boost in p now we going to be um winning that one man that feels really bad G so sakazuki winning that one do not worry there are more coming here on the channel we'll do more commentary you always love seeing a fun deck like Zoro and a meta like op5 come in and play unfortunately not getting the win in that one but coming so close I do feel like it was a pretty good game was pretty even on all sides I feel like just a little too much you know like uh removal power found by the sakazuki so thank you so much for
