ONLY KEEPING A FEW PALETTES // Eyeshadow Makeup Declutter 2019

welcome back to my channel everyone hello so today we're decluttering my eyeshadow stuff palettes primers singles etc yeah sorry I lost I forgot what I was doing anyway I've been kicking some bootay and takin names and getting rid of a lot of my collection for a reason if you want to know that reason and kind of my longer explanation and I think it's important to hear so if you haven't seen it please watch my very first video in this particular declutter series I will link it below even if you just watch the first few minutes and then bounce back whatever you want to do I'm gonna stop getting most PR because this is too much and I want to be able to pick out the makeup I'm playing with and I want less I'm getting rid of a lot of my Alex Shores completely and I just can't grow to this size again so there we go let's dive in holy moly this is a lot so we are going to be really cutthroat and really honest with myself I've realized I don't really use palettes very much anymore oftentimes like literally in the past few months I've moved away from big palettes and I've just been using like little quads or I've been using like a single cream shadow so I really don't need this many big palettes I just need to get rid of them and same goes with the singles I only use a handful of them so that's all that I want to keep I don't know where to begin so let's just let's just rip the band-aid right off the pallets I'm going to keep I love the sultry palette and I love the soft glam like I'm tempted to keep both but do I really need both no I don't I'm gonna keep sultry get rid of soflam oh my gosh Jessica you are crazy honestly you guys I don't really use many of these often enough hi this is very new to me Natasha - no no the Biba palette I'm gonna keep because I'm still playing with and y'all this is an expensive palette but I am gonna get rid of the gold I literally look at that I think I've used four shades like twice that can go whew that was that was rough I'm really not reaching for these anymore I love the Naked palette but I don't reach for it new tude is great don't reach for it naked reloaded I actually really but I'm still not reaching for it I realized I like the collection but it's not I don't know it's like I I'm not inspired by it as dumb as that sounds and it's not even that I'm like a makeup artist cuz I'm not but I just I feel like it's got shadows I use but every time I open I'm like yeah I guess it's just gonna be kind of like a birthday that's how I feel so I'm just gonna prove it I don't like the way it makes me feel but it is good chocolate bar I've had for too long it needs to go this born to run one I keep looking at and wanting to love but I never really end up using it but it's like hard for me to get rid of let me let me think about that one okay I don't need all three of these Milani ones soft and sultry I love that cool tone bold obsessions is fun most love mattes I think I'm gonna keep soft and sultry these pixie ones are gorgeous but I don't really reach for them enough same with these two this Mac and this Emily one this is like my favorite this is how I want to feel about every palette I'm keeping this holy girl palette for whatever reason the violet boss Holy Grail palette I have used to death and I just love it so I want to feel that way about every palette of keeping this one was a fun one the Safari but I never use it someone is gonna be pumped to get that the elf ones okay these Kevin Oklahomans are good but I don't need wet wild ones I they were man oh another one I just adore this NARS skin deep one ooh I love it keep persona one I really like but I'm not really reaching for it much anymore so I think it might be time that's a maybe let me think about on Nick's lid laundry is great but I'm not really reaching for it this is one I really like this Mac it's from there like boom boom bloom one in there kabuki doll oh my gosh that this like I and I love grabbing that and using it this one is my favorite palette of the moment this little NARS suede one love travel with that recently going to keep but this one I didn't love as much as suede it's just a little bit peachy here so I'm gonna pass that one on these two NARS ones I keep wanting to use in love but I just I'm not really reaching for their beautiful just don't need these Revlon ones were good but again I'm not really reaching for them same with the covergirl ones they're good I recently tried one and it's not bad but it's just not something I'm like dying to use every day I'd rather have four pallets of I said than enough okay it's time to say goodbye to the this visi art pallet I've had it for a long time it's broken again I don't really reach for tons of matte shadows anymore anyway it's tart one it's finally going it has made it through way too many de clutters and I keep opening it and keeping it and I'm not even gonna open it Weinke luxe coffee palette is nice but again don't need it the fame one is actually very nice but I'm never reaching for it wander s beautiful don't reach for these NARS ones I don't even reach for and these are newer but I don't know I'm gonna pass them on whoa girl you crazy these this Natasha - no no one is really pretty we think about that any girl can go my singles from makeup forever I'm definitely keeping that these Rimmel ones are okay Marc Jacobs one asked me the last time I use this exactly no idea that can go this elf one this essence one what I was so surprised at how good this was so I think I am gonna keep that one as well in glad I'm also keeping these were like ones I actually picked out I'm finally getting rid of this Charlotte Tilbury stupid quad that I really was not impressed by the tiny Natasha Genoa's are not nearly as good as the other and I never reach for any of these singles to go I'm gonna go this NARS do although I do like that one I'm gonna keep it's in Isolde wait there was one Mac one that I was like what and I loved it I think it was this one and major win I think I'm gonna keep that just the one I miss all of my singles this is like another day's project to go through and declutter but I'm not gonna do today I'm just gonna keep these Jacqueline Hills gonna go this essence countin hearts is gonna go I just don't ever reach for either one Jacqueline is awesome I just don't reachable so Wow now I need to reckon with these bad boys looking at what I'm keeping really do you like this one I think I'm gonna keep persona and pass on I'm born to run all right not bad you got rid of a lot let's do like single shadows I'm gonna get rid of most least keeping both of these wet and wild singles in Brule I keep one in my bathroom and one in here and I use it like every single day so those are key you live all these color pop things I'm not gonna use that ice watchman oh my god they're so pretty but I've had them for three months and I do not use them once oh there's a lot that I like do I need to keep in Charlotte Tilbury ones I'm definitely keeping my eyes to mesmerize that you guys know I love their cream shadows these pigments i never reach for natasha Genoa things have four months never used and Tasha do you know one of those can go I do actually sometimes use these two Mac pigments I've had these for years and they're still kickin and I actually do use them so this soft ochre is pretty darn old it's all separated from the side that can go of Indian wood I adore it's a little bit old but not crazy old so I'm gonna keep that I don't really use this Tarte top yacht very much these are getting pretty old these are getting that separated and grow so those no color pop will do like those a flower beauty warrior these are all so good this is super old my milk pigment I do like this Stila like shimmer whatever in the world these are called I really do like that so I think I'm gonna keep that but I don't need all of these these are literally all through the same so I think I'm just gonna keep the sealer when I'm passing them they're all good though don't think because it's drugstore I'm getting rid of that and keeping that just cuz I actually spent the money on this one that I want to get my money's worth I'm still a normal human guys these color pop ones I love I think I might keep oh my gosh okay mmm these are all so pretty I'm gonna pass these two on these were good but I just don't need all this it's too much I don't reach for these I thought I would from nude sticks but I don't suppose can go I actually used those colored ones a decent amount all right eye primers how many of you pretty peppers this particular you use the tiniest amount of primer you know what I mean I do I have like 80 of these I'm saying um some that I just didn't really like those two can go that's getting pretty darn old just continued I love that this means discontinued this one I think I have realized I've liked it but I think it's making some shadows crease some those can go I don't need both of these this one I just someone that was discontinued as well this NARS ones like out so that one key needs to go I'm not gonna use the color come on don't worry like that the Fenton one was okay I mean it's not bad I could use any of these and be happy you know this is one of my favorites of all time the uLTA Beauty matte eye primer it's so good I pass those on well some of them are gonna go in the trash cuz they're older this one I need to give another go they're perfecting eye primer because I feel like it I don't know I'm not sure that this works well or not but I've only used it obviously a handful of times so I think I'm gonna keep all of these because I mean these are things I feel like I could actually use up you know what I'm just gonna keep - I'm gonna keep the Urban Decay this one's getting old this one's getting old so I'm just gonna keep these - I like them both I know they work well and I just can't keep that money this is what I always do and I need to stop please so next up we're gonna do like eyeliners brows and stuff we're gonna blast through this cuz I find these boring I I usually don't like these kinds of declutter videos like I don't watch my scared I don't know so I find them boring so I'm in a blast do this as fast as I can and it's all mixed in because I was pulling stuff from a few different places a lot of these mascaras are just trashed like some of these have gotten so old so they just need to glow and then like there's my old anastacio brow Wiz or brow pomade dip brow and the new one and I'm telling you the new one pulls red so I'm gonna keep both I can't want to keep messing with it but I'm really bummed some of these are sold and then they're just like random like what Wild Ones I don't have the desire to keep I'm gonna be pretty some of these are old man on it Annabelle one I didn't love it wasn't terrible but the shade in the formula it was a little too much for me so I'm gonna pass that one on a rough two covergirl so I have like the NYX epic ink is okay I need to use it up its they change the formula and I'm still upset about it okay I have quite a few of these like Urban Decay what's the difference reversion and zero what's the difference I hated the milk makeup push foundation and I don't love the Too Faced that can go this wet and wild one I've loved its old though I need to buy a new one elf makeup removers old that's brilliant spankin new product what are you doing there yeah what league gross all right I don't really use clear brow gel so that can go I might keep one but that one I've had forever some older pencils I think can just go this one I just opened this is still never me that anastasiya like dip brow gel that one's still moving will keep so this is the only potted like gel that I have like eyeliner gel it's in black track from one so I'm definitely keeping that I've never used those scissors once in my life so let's see I'm having deja vu right now that chela product is so old oh my gosh so is that total temptation alright I always keep this highbrow thinking yeah one day I'm gonna use this and then guess what that day never comes so it's gonna go oh the nude stick sharpeners I don't need cuz I got really need sticks things [Applause] well alright so I think we are left let me pull out any liners that are still in here the rest of the finger brow which is insane so liner wise this is all I've got which is amazing I have wait where's my hourglass 1.5 found a few more others Rose traveling with so this is the mascara I'm currently using boom that's what we're perfect so liner wise I have my favorite the makeup revolution Renaissance flick I have the hourglass 1.5 there it is I have two of the hourglass 1.5 millimeter liners I have one in brown which is Canyon and one an obsidian my favorite liner of all time I'm gonna pass on the NYX always keeping it tight that was a dupe for it or at least a lot of you guys asked and it's just not the NYX epic ink is okay like I said I want to use this up I can keep that one in my bathroom and then these two Urban Decay Clyde on there's nothing wrong with either one so I don't really want to like just pass it on for fun whoa okay JK we are gonna keep perversion that is way matter way blacker so that's the one that I'm thinking the other ones passing on all right I don't need most of these so I know that this shade we're gonna do a swatch test I know that this shade in the LA girl shady slim is the best shade for me and that's like literally it's like gone oh my gosh I love this so much so whatever matches that that's in decent condition I'm gonna keep yeah that's a little bit more like yellow so that elf one can go honest Asya brow is and medium brown yeah that's pretty darn good that's actually a little bit cooler which I like so I think I'm gonna keep that one covergirl one I know I love should be pretty close yeah awesome heap I've been enjoying this although it's pretty cool tone the laurio brow stylist definer yeah it's a little bit cooler but I do like it so I'm gonna keep that this NARS one I think was too dark yeah it's like almost black and then these hourglass ones I've had forever their arch brow pencil and I like but I've kind of moved away from it a little bit because I like the my fine tip but this does a great job of filling it in quickly because it is like thicker you know I didn't love the Urban Decay brow blade that can go the Milani one's just a little bit too much for me I don't think this was the right shade for point five I feel like wasn't dead on the way I wanted it to be yeah it's a little bit warmer of a brown so if you have a please let me know because I like the formula of this what shade would I be and precisely my brow if 4.5 is a little bit too warm please tell me because I would love to use it I'm gonna pass on the hourglass I've loved those four years but they're honestly both those are old and I like the skinnier brow pencils a little bit better these covergirl ones I just don't have the desire to use I've tried one before and it was a little drier than what I like compared to anastacio they're not terrible but we have the arch brow shaping gel and this is just a clear and this one's a clear no and then these are colored ones I'm gonna keep the milk clear brow gel and the essence makes me brow and then the anasazi one from earlier that's it so I have to get rid of actually putting my empties my la girl 1 cuz that one is gonzo but I at least have these three to use up the covergirl the L'Oreal and honest Asya and to me they're kind of interchangeable they're all really good so that's all we're keeping there so here's what I'm keeping that's it that's liners mascaras brows eye primers single eyeshadows and then palettes this is amazing this is everything I'm getting rid of holy cannoli I say that every time but it's such a good feeling you guys I'm like smiling looking at these because I'm like these are all palettes I genuinely get excited to use why keep stuff I'm not excited to use even if it's really good it's just not necessarily my cup of tea completely as much as these are I guess Asians this is a good feeling and again I continually reiterate it I'm staring at this pile and there are plenty of products I really like there that I've recommended that I really this angle is weird isn't it I can't keep it off I just can't I can't keep it all what's the point just because it's really good and I've told you it's good if I have 15 really good products of the same thing I don't need to keep all 15 just because they're all good just pick then one or two that you genuinely love the most and then get rid of the rest pass it on someone else gonna be so excited to receive not just my castoffs that I don't like but the ones that are really really good too so I'm feeling really really good so if you enjoyed this stick around Haven't watched her in some time, but her haul-declutter-haul-repeat cycles flew at such high velocity when I did it made me dizzy.

While I applaud her for the choices she is making in terms of the size of her collection and in terms of future pr, I have actually not enjoyed her declutters recently.

She just seems so stressed and like she’s mostly aiming to just get rid of things, it doesn’t seem like she’s thinking about her choices and she just throws as much as possible in the “get rid of”-pile. She doesn’t really give any reasoning for why she keeps things or not - it’s just full of “I don’t reach for this so it can go”. While that line of thought is effective for her, it gives me as a viewer exactly nothing.

I would have loved to see more thorough comparisons between what she keeps and what she lets go. Otherwise, I feel as though the point of the video isn’t to declutter and help her viewers out in the process, the point seems to just be shock factor “oh my god! Look how much I got rid of!”

I watched it and have couple comments. I would have loved to see a higher camera position on her review as the whole time I felt as if I am a cat watching from a chair at this. Also she seemed to keep a whole bunch of neutrals. She is a neutrals girl and that’s ok, but if she is doing such a “ruthless” declutter she could have kept just 2 palettes and that would last her a few years anyway. Same goes for shadows and pigments. Overall I got a rushed and stressed feeling from it. Also on camera at least she always seems to wear a neutral brown look or some form of bronze shimmer.

I was surprised that she got rid of Soft Glam. She may run through Sultry quickly if she’s using it more often. The ABH formulation just pans so fast.

I had a lot of thoughts after watching this last night. Jessica was the first BG I started watching, so it makes me a bit sad to see that she doesn't seem to be enjoying makeup as much as she used to. For a while she talked so much about how makeup was her job, it's hard for me to take her seriously as a "professional" when she gets rid of most of her collection and barely wears makeup anymore. I don't want to suggest that she should do things that make her unhappy, but I think she's treating makeup as a hobby rather than as a job that ebbs and flows in terms of the level of personal satisfaction it brings.

In her last few videos she's just done a single shadow color and some eyeliner, which frankly isn't very interesting to watch. Can you really call yourself a beauty guru anymore if all you do is throw on a bit of brown eyeshadow?

I would have liked to have seen her compare the eye shadows she chose to keep, because it seemed like most of them were very similar.

I'd also be curious to know how she's feeling now about her decision to quit teaching and do YT full time. When she first announced this (around the beginning of the year if I remember correctly) she seemed so excited and full of energy and new ideas. Now it seems like she's burnt out on makeup quite quickly.
