- I'm Patrick Cappiello. Wine director of Rebelle restaurant in New York City, recipient of Wine Spectator's Grand Award, and sommelier of the year from Eater and Food & Wine Magazine. Today, I'm going to blind
taste beer pong beers. (rock music) For me, when I'm looking
for a beer pong beer, I try to find something that's
light, crisp, refreshing. It's not like you're looking for an IPA or wheat beer or something fancy. I mean, you know, it's beer pong. So we're not looking to
reinvent the wheel here. We're just trying to determine which of these of craft beer is the best. I'm glad to see we're using
the appropriate glassware. There's kind of a tropical banana but also has kind of a wood flavor to it like plywood almost. It's not extremely flavorful and it's not very long on the finish. It's okay, I would say that's
like middle round beer. I would give this a "C." Oh, Natty Ice. (laughing) This is one of the last
remaining ice beers. Good value lager. Ice brewed for a naturally smooth taste. I'd agree. It doesn't say anything
here about plywood aging but I'm still going to stick with that. I think that's what's going on. 5.9% alcohol. Yup. More bang for your buck. It's much more malty. Much more, smells like
more serious of a beer. Yeah. A little bit of sweetness on that but it's really balanced
out with the dryness and the bitterness. You can really feel for
a bit after tasting it and the sweetness that's there is well placed. But there's a lot of flavor here. Very, very flavorful. This is the star of the show so far. I'm going to give this beer an "A." It's great. God, that's awesome, "The Beast." (chuckles) Brewed for freshness and classic taste. I couldn't agree more. Milwaukee is killing it here. Really good. Nice work, Milwaukee. Alright. It smells like carmely. It smells like it's going to be sweet. Which is often the case
with beers like this, it's the kind of thing
I don't like about it but I didn't taste it yet so maybe I"m wrong but I
think it's going to be sweet. (spitting) Yeah, it's so sweet. Yuck. A little sweetness on the attack and then it just disappears. Also the bubbles in that
are a little flat already. I feel like it got flat really quickly. Not great. Not delicious. That's a "D-" for me. That's too bad. Oh, Bud Light. Bummer. That makes sense. I feel like Bud is always the sweetest of the frat boy beers. Sorry, Bud. You gotta tone back the sugar
and add a little more gas. Alright, wow these fills
keep getting bigger. You guys trying to get me drunk? This feels kind of malty. Taste pretty good. Just got a real smooth,
predictable flavor. If you really want to think about the beer you're enjoying during beer pong, this might be the best one. I think it's good. I think it has a fairly long finish. I don't mind it actually. I kind of like that beer. I'm gonna give that a "B+." Oh, yes! No Heineken. Pabst Blue Ribbon. F*ck yeah, I love that. That's great. Yeah, awesome, PBR. Milwaukee, they know how to brew beer. I'm impressed. Frat boys and hipsters can agree. PBR is the best. Alright. It smells very much like
banana or tropical fruits. The dominant aromatic here. Light on the pallet. A little nuty, a little yeasty. It's not bad actually. That's very good, yeah. I'm going to give that a "B-." Let's drop the minus and
just make it a straight "B." That's good. Oh, yes. Awesome, Coors Light or as my friends like to call it "Party Water." You know I heard a joke
about Coors Light once. What is sex in a canoe and
Coors Light have in common? They're both f*cking close to water. (laughing) That's pretty damn good. So I think we've learned
today that Milwaukee excels at beer pong beer. Two of the most exciting beers of the day and for me, surprisingly good. I didn't think I was gonna
like any of these beers at all in a blind tasting even though I often
drink these exact beers. I was really surprised at the quality level and for a brewery to
make this much of a beer at this price point, I think it's pretty impressive
that they can produce something that's pretty notable or a talking point at all but then the thing I think
they all have in common is that there are beers
that are made for one thing and one thing only and that's to get frat boys drunk. And I think we've seen that all of them have that ability. I'm Patrick Cappiello from PlayBoy.com
