in holiness and the classical Pentecostal upbringing for which I do not apologize I'm not bragging but I'm just saying that's the way God raised me up so I like them old songs I like them all rockin Saints makes me think of them saints with the little hats on sometimes ahead little necks I guess to keep the hair together women wore them stockings you couldn't see through you know white you know about a television and there was always and see they were they were a we were on oppressed people pressed on the job or pressed in the home not much when a murder leave any education and Lopez mean God has brought us from a long way some of y'all more especially Pentecostal people you know we we we we you know God had to go among those who we're not too proud to say Rosa Hondo nobody kidding idiot and didn't know what they was talking about and rolling in the dust and doing some of those things they did I remember they used to kind of frock at the mountain they bring toilet paper in there when they name is tell tell them us they was gettin purged and I was then law don't purge me but you know and women faceted Brannon none of us had very much money we didn't have anything in the promise of our future but Jesus son of All Saints used to stand up in testimony service look like the Lord just give him a song just hot off the wire they may be out of their prayer life you know I'm a brags what they what was happening there something way down on the inside won't momma's will get up and sing a song and they look right at you say whoa Juiz hand god son change come here my supplier through some old songs mom I'm looking at you God what I'm looking at Jonah yeah I'm gonna have to call you to help me a little bit some of them old order to solve it thank you Mike Michael my grandma used to get up every Sunday night and sing some of these songs and before you know it you know we couldn't sing it blow it out we couldn't go to parties [Applause] he's a great console eater is the grey council leader the console ah come on you can help me sing some of this come on now baby [Applause] see you mama what [Applause] [Music] come little bit of this time these two women raised me now [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Oh just talking about it come on [Applause] yeah [Applause] chicken [Applause] look at some - my soul it's happy talking about the Lord [Applause] [Music] [Applause] now I'm not making this up folks this is the way I was raised we're gonna be throughout throughout the week go on we didn't even start the altar call at midnight and we didn't have any place else to go anyways we just stayed there most of them didn't have television in their homes and the ones that did didn't want nobody to know it so we love lingering in the presence of the Lord and just sing it we sing the same song over for almost an hour we just pass it down one person take it one person take it till everybody gets fallen out that's all we have we did drink we did get high on drugs when you get high alcohol so all we had was the Holy Ghost [Applause] oh yeah here's one of the songs I've learned from my mom when my work on earth is done I'm going home to live with God all of my troubles will be over I will make a new song Oh when I lies I'll shake the dust from my feet and wipe my weary eye by-and-by ah [Music] that day should come say hallelujah [Music] Oh [Music] I'm gonna say a new song when I get home how about this one use me Lord in thy service [Music] drawing near each and everything he every step of the way ah while I'm trying [Applause] just let me say all the way you know that course all the way all the way all the way come on [Music] well why don't just let me stay ah everybody to all how many of you have a mama or grandmom or a great that somebody that seen the whole song then they go all the way all the way [Music] Oh ah [Music] come on [Music] [Applause] [Applause] Amata and see we've got ready to select some of these songs we couldn't find authors and they're not copyrighted and just some of them old Saints are coming off the cotton fields rush home into the bowl of beans and piece of cornbread put a little grease on the face rush off to that what they called a house of prayer [Music] and you know how many remember testimonies services that would go on at least an hour and you testify and or sing and shout in between every testimonial repeat the same song until you sort of worked up a whole Eagles ladder [Music] and they just I think I kind of think that that some of them brother ones just would sing back and forth one person would sing one person Santa would sing another they come in off the field and somebody would go just another day [Applause] that's law [Music] a Skippy just another day [Music] II ha [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah [Music] yeah I'll say to my mother might stay on head [Applause] ah [Music] Hey and [Music] [Applause] yay [Applause] that song kinda made me cry though because I I dreamed about this I I anticipated it as a little child growing up wanted to travel the world I wanted to preach the gospel I wanted to win the loss I wanted to see God's people come together we crawled the floor sobbing weeping doing our food for days and days and days and in those days when you faster they need to let you drink water here's one one less of course we're almost finished with this bar I feel like go [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh ah [Music] [Music] I [Music] with me [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] come on March like soldiers keep your feet up pick your feet up pick your face up [Applause] [Applause] I bought some people make it so are you come on say this is Friday night and we do and we hear houses [Applause] turns each other encourage each other [Music] [Applause] [Music] and [Applause] how many you can see the Lord has done some good things for you how many of you folks from out of town had a little attack of the devil just before you got here or came here how many of you almost thought you weren't gonna make it but the Lord somehow brought you through [Applause] look at somebody say the devil's want some battles but he will win the war [Music] now just stop with me Zambia Pete one time I want you to remember this little song when I'm songs my mom taught me when I was a little boy if you know it just just catch on with me and sing it goes like this Jesus I'll never forget what you've done so much [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] now I tell you what the Lord has done here but he's done so much for me [Applause] remember that there are a lot of the things you won't forget that he did for you but there's still a lot of things about took you through that you don't even understand there was a little old lady little old church mother named mother Sherman she was what we call a district missionary she was the church mother of our church the Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ in San Diego California she went to heaven when she was 101 I think and she was such a sweet little darling but she was about 4 she look like she's about 4 3 and but a powerful preaching woman and when I was a little boy she used to say to me she heard I was saved I got saved when I was about 4 or 5 years old and they heard about this little piercing boy that was saved and she'd always come to me and said son you get holding on and I said yes ma'am I'm yet holding on she said we'll keep on keeping on the baby she said that all the time every time I said you get hold on the mo mission there's always going not just going back slap between Sundays you know you yet holding on and I said yes ma'am she said we'll keep on hold or no baby she'd give me a nickel and then I get a little older she gave me a dime you get holding on and Yes Mother Sherman I'm yet oh no you keep on keeping the whole baby she gave me a quarter but time I got rid of gotta go to college she was up to a dollar I remember I came back for my freshman college year here at Oral Roberts University and I saw him others serving she's a baby you get holding on I said yes ma'am I'm yet holding on she said will you keep on keeping on there baby she never did get above $1 that she's dated that down well the last time I saw her live we should Morton she was in a nursing home and my godmother took me out to see her she had lost her teeth but she she they couldn't find her teeth she couldn't remember who I was our pastor Bishop Joey Blake whose son Charles will be preaching a little bit Charles Blake visual Blake had gone to heaven mother Sherman didn't know it yet she could remember the name of our church and it kind of broke my heart and I said mother Sherman she said what a baby I said you remember me she said how long so where's your team up she said to have only then long and so what I'm Carlton Pearson you used to encourage me a lot mother when when when I went to church was always telling me to keep on keeping on but I was saying when I was a little boy and your ministries blessed me over the years she said all it be I said yeah well you were so sweet she said that produce sweet she said you get hold and all [Applause] I said yes ma'am I'm yet holding orange she's everywhere I mean you get keep on keepin on I said well I'm gonna go buy the Sherman I just want to love you and pray for you but there's one little song I wanted to sing for you but before we before we leave now she couldn't remember the name of the church she couldn't remember my name she couldn't even remember our pastor Bishop Blake but I said this I sang this song [Music] she understood but soon as I started singing she started moving a little head and I never did know the verse but I sing it through one time that she said she looked at me she said they'd been making noise in that nursing home she said but it ain't Arcana noise will understand it better I said by my mother she would like this [Music] this we are tossed and driven from the Restless seas of time sonic times and humbling tip is often see the bright sunshine when the mishap alone tada by halle-loo [Applause] somebody [Applause] Oh [Music] thank you Jesus [Music] [Applause] my car [Applause] [Music] [Applause] let's pray of the clean train to distrain the green track in the Jesus name the whole district where you ride you got to say [Applause] this way is Bound for Glory this train sorry the new round of about the glory of this rain [Music] [Applause] please wait inside by Roger I caught my dog Laika yes [Applause] [Music] all the train only we ride in the Jesus name [Music] this train [Music] my wine is the one [Music] [Applause] three [Applause] [Applause] why you said I wanted to see this also on the look like this in the mall in the mall keep the bTW do you think the only time we sing this song was in church I like a testimony service at a happy time but we actually sang this song at her mother's funeral my grandmother Big Momma she's in heaven but the only way we could go through that grief was to think about the morning when we rise this is my oldest sister that's one of the first songs I heard her sing they call it a congregational song this happened in testimony service assumed that somebody would testify then they'd start singing this song she was about ten years old baby when she sang it she said we're around 67 now no I'm kidding he's the first one baptized that the Holy Ghost in our family once you take a little bit of a baby sing it in the morning [Music] [Music] look at someone's knocking harder help it come on stop it [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] yeah [Music] [Applause] yeah [Applause] look at somebody say I feel Jesus said again I feel Jesus [Music] [Applause] [Music] we're the original holy rollers now this would go on this went on for three days at Azusa Street they never stop shouting blacks and whites and reds and yellows and grime don't care who came in there they felt something come on give the Lord away of it turn this up - I know I've been changed said the Lord's made a big difference in my life Sam a changed person scripture says if any man be in Christ he is a new creation how many - used to dance in the world before you got saved somebody said to me one time I don't want to be Christian because I've got to stop dancing we just did we haven't stopped dancing we just what change partners I got a new partner and I'm changed maybe that old song ah no I've been changed [Applause] [Music] no I ain't changing because the everybody [Applause] [Music] [Music] well if you don't [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Lamb's Book of Life are you saved and do you know you saved are you free and separated from sin that was the old testimony I'm saved and sanctified be with the holy gold and I'm out of burning five hallelujah first we have Donnie McClurkin here tonight one of our favorites there's an old church medley that we like to hear him sing as we're trying to go back and bridge the past with the present to project us into the future the old holiness movement of God Pentecostal expression on the classical Pentecostalism in America over 400 million classical Pentecostals on the planet today started in a little sort of converted livery stable used to be an AME Church African Methodist Episcopal it was dormant and the building was just laying there and they went down there for the seam Oran find it they started praying and seeking God there was a good old-fashioned moving the Holy Spirit I don't even know we need a good old-fashioned move of the Holy Ghost I've often said every time gotta get ready to bring revival to the core town called black church somehow we miscarry to a civil rights movement how many know we don't need another civil rights movement we need a good old-fashioned outpouring of the Holy Ghost that's what will change lives so I want you to cut with all of your faith the good old fashioned feeling you used to have I still have it today don't you and I want you to think about some of those precious times and come on brother Donnie McClurkin just lead us in this if that's what's on your heart or whatever the Lord gives you take us back a little bit cuz whenever Donnie's things he always takes us back you know we know all helped you in any way we won't give down over cooking a great big god bless it has administers come on oh my there there are songs this is the wrong thing to give me yes this is the wrong thing to give me because when you talk about old songs my mind just runs back way further past where I am I was born you know those are the songs that nursed me those are the songs that we me those are the songs that gave me strength those are the songs that encouraged my faith we talk a lot about gospel music but I come to find out the things that we're singing really nowadays aren't really gospel they're inspirational because the gospel is [Applause] back in the day they used to sing the gospel but it didn't stop there [Applause] justified [Applause] yeah [Applause] black [Applause] well [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] yeah [Music] [Applause] yeah look at some fancy that's gonna be a glorious day gonna be glorious day yeah glorious day [Music] [Applause] turn to somebody so I got a feeling that everything's gonna be all right oh yes no I'm looking at Bishop Paul Morton he's up here tonight foundered presiding bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship I can't sing this like Bishop Mort but it goes something like this if you know what sing it [Music] hey too come on No [Applause] [Music] [Music] draw [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah that me Bishop you can do better than I can [Music] [Applause] I stray [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] tell me where what [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I can go to I can go to [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you know you have been doing I don't know if many of you really realize you are a part a prophetic and apostolic history tonight we are coming full circle how many know we used to be ashamed of the way we worship God but here we are in the maybe Center on the campus of the oil Roberts University black and white and red and here and Guam and worshiping God in the beauty of holiness Baptist and Methodist Church of God in Christ Assembly of God and some of our abreast material backgrounds and Pisgah pelean backgrounds it how many know God is doing a new thing [Applause] look at some ice I wouldn't miss this for nothing we don't stop a little bit and let let Bishop preach and we gonna do a little bit of this tomorrow night but I tell you what the render clock is hearing she has a song titled I'm on my way to heaven madam Al's clock was one of the greatest leaders in the era of praise and worship and music of this century particular in the Church of God in Christ she slipped away to be with the Lord it was less than a year ago or right around a year ago these girls I've known the most of my life and Nonaka bother my life and now they're all preaching and evangelizing and God is using them and we had Karen last year this is the Evangelist of the group and I still feel that sweet anointing it still young I want you to come to render let the Lord use you're one of these old we let her choose a song that she wanted to sing from way back give Dorinda o'clock a great big god bless you as she do this [Applause] this song the mother in 1958 this song is a classic to me and of course I wanted to do this song because in memory of my mother my father dr.
