[Music] hi guys welcome or welcome back this dresser was given to me by a lady who kept it in her stable after failing to paint it the way she intended i used this dresser for a little bit as a storage for my diy stuff but eventually an inspiration came and i came up with a pretty crazy idea how to make this over so keep watching to find out also i wanted to say thank you for all your support your likes and comments and generally just your feedback this is the only way i can keep doing what i'm doing because i work full-time in a hospital and i'm also full-time in school so any help whether it is via buy me coffee or the amazon wishlist is very much appreciated but of course the most important is that you subscribe to my channel watch my videos like and comment because this way youtube thinks that my videos are good and it will recommend them to a broader audience thank you so much and enjoy the video [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so the plan is i'm going to glue these together and then cut off a little bit on the top just to make it straight and then cut the very tip of the legs and round them up just so they don't scratch the um the surface all right so here's what i'm gonna do i'll put the tape on the side this is a glue that comes with activator so basically it's like super glue but when you use this spray it makes it work instantly rather than waiting for a few minutes so what i'm gonna do i'll attach these two bits that i cut off from here and the reason i use the tape is that i can easily remove it when i'm done with clamping i wouldn't be able to grip these two pieces when i glue them so i'm just gonna use these for the clamp to have something to hold on to this actually works really well i've seen this on um youtube video i believe it was bourbon moth he's a really cool guy he's got a very cool project makes all sorts of things and he's also really funny i've watched lots of his videos and he does this all the time when he's clamping things see done so easy and now i'm gonna glue these two legs together i'm gonna be quite generous with the glue the interesting thing is that when you glue it together the bond or the glue is stronger than the wood itself all right now i can clamp it [Music] i'm not too worried about the top bit i mean this because i'm gonna cut it off and make it straight as you can see there's a space in those two top drawers for something to put in and i'm thinking to use this [Music] i'm just gonna put this in warm water just so it's more flexible and it will be easier to apply it i didn't do it with the cane webbing because i just didn't feel like it was necessary but this is definitely gonna make it easier because this bit is quite stiff [Music] what do you guys think the first one that's tick this one that was antique pine this is no pain gel stain in walnut this is natural oak that's lining wax this is um golden oak restoring finish and this is just um feeding wax just normal beeswax [Music] i've decided to do the bottom on the inside as well just because it's a bit scratched under different colors i think the restorer would do a better job than walks and now it's time to wax the bottom i'm gonna use my favorite orange centered feeding wax by howard's just apply to my brush try not to make a mess and i'm also going towards the back [Music] so you think that the restore that i used on the main body of this dresser i hate it it looked more brown on the sample piece that i did and it looks pretty orange on the dresser so that's not what i wanted and i think i need to come up with a different plan i'm working on the drawers right now and i'm just limiting them with um lining wax but i'm not quite sure what i'm gonna do with the rest of it [Music] because there is the restorer on it i don't know what the wax is gonna look like on top of it if i apply it but i might even try all right guys so i absolutely hate this i thought it was gonna be more brown than orange but it is orange and i just don't like it i'm gonna see if i can fix it with the liming wax if not i'll probably need to sand this whole thing down looks like i can fix it with the wax that's awesome all right that's better [Music] [Music] now i'm gonna wax the ends inside of the dresser uh it just makes it smell nice look nice and this makes easy um for the doors to go in and out [Music] and i'll do exactly the same thing on the other side and the top remember the tape that i put on that's why [Music] so [Music] um [Music] oh [Music] i'm gonna use this glue again just to temporarily um put them in place [Music] now i'm just going to make some marks for the pilot holes because i'll be putting screws from the inside into the leg so it's super secure so there's some glue but the glue is not to kind of keep it in place it's basically just to temporarily hold it where it needs to be so i can put the screws in [Music] i wanted to use something bronze but this is all i had at home [Music] what do you think it looks quite nice [Music] for the top two drawers because obviously i can't attach these poles [Music] i'm gonna go with these so these um handles [Music] i'm just gonna eyeball it because the drawers are really small and it's pretty easy to get it in the middle [Music] bye [Music] you
