OG vs Newbee - Game 1 - The International 2019 - Main Event.

we get a lot of experience when it's great and on top of that old you are really good at kind of like rotating on a tower and killing a guy there and then kind of turning it into a tier 1 or tower dive so it's really interesting it's like some players have turned this into a bounty system where it's like hey this guy is really big right now we get him that's a lot of resources it applies a lot more pressure on the guy that's ahead if you're mid you know solo kills any minute he ganks the enemy try and gets like a triple kill he's not dominating you have to like relax now you can't be this guy who just goes in you know you're gonna get like three kills you'll die you're like oh okay they got like 600 golden you know they're awfully nervous it's all good guys I'm just gonna move up now you got killed there but awfully there's a higher level than you so you have to make sure that you know you kind of chill when you're having a good early lead and that's why a lot of more games are slow people are more choking people out you're playing the map slow as a team pushing in all the lanes and then that's why a lot of games are ending with really high net-worth advantages yeah it's I mean it's interesting when you talk about tempo wise this is one of the only T eyes going back for a while we this is over 40 minutes average match duration in this ti the gains of it going a lot longer partially for the reasons you're talking about Morana I can't disagree with that as the first band from og as we're just getting underway here in our draft this has been one of the more impactful heroes instrument so are they more successful actually for support ones yeah I mean this year old it just feels really good to play with it I think what's the early game is pretty much sped up for a lot of teams so you have the moonlight she can freely roam around she also neutral creeps she feels good herself by getting those levels and it's just working really well for a lot of teams I think MSS from newbie has a really cool here phille Oh invoker 4 he plays Morano 4 he plays he's kind of has used to play court used to play mid and then he moved to off Lane and then he moved to 4 so he he still he can't have this court mentality in these games where he'll kind of a slower lead but it just like he lost the offlane and then I'll just farm back come back and now he's like a fourth corps on this team some guy sometimes then sometimes he's then you know the hard floor he'll buy some wards or whatever kind of only get a blink you know play with his team I'm really glad you brought it by massage because the panel was talking about sneaking I agree he's had a great tournament but I think MSS has been one of the best players at the event as well eight players at this event 16 assists the game of course terrifyingly og has three players on that list but MSS up there as well and particularly early he's been so active around the map to relieve that laning pressure because he talked about some of the importance of that especially against a team like og yeah no I think MSS has been playing great actually I mean all of their players I think I've been stepping it up quite a bit I also saw a CC and C in their early matches he was rolling over some people and I think it was liquid especially and all series damn he was looking real strong so we also see that Chen I was kind of worried for that it gives this og this early in temple is one of the no-tell classics when he moved to support he used to be a meatball player so he has this micro skill like built into himself he's practice it over the years he played me put support to you but I don't think are gonna see that now but this Chen ran I think it's good for newbie it kind of it's with their bands or slowing the pace down they'd not giving away that edge for the other game they're not giving the chen for the other game so they're gonna try to slow down maybe get themselves like a comfortable position in the drum yeah it's similarly you see the reverse theme that on og they're worried about scaling they're worried about Marana scaling into the late game is you talked about possibly from the floor roll and pile I die 34 and 16 is career on the warlock that's one of the strongest scaling five-position heroes in the game it also helps your arse Lane you have a shower working your carry it'll kind of give a little more sustained in the Willing so if any in the world kind of makes your often a little stronger if you don't apply against it's similar to the heroes like bane and some teams will run if they want to protect their safe lane you pick this five and their whole point in the game is just help you carry have a good game absolutely so we are getting into the first phase picks here moments away and all their Titan the most picked hero in this tournament extremely successful but tempo wise again elder titan in this patch 20 and 6 and games that end before the 35 35 minute mark only 21 and 24 in games that go past that point oh gee we all know they want to play fast actually surprises me about the stat of ETA 60 heroes really good throughout the entire game not just early on one thing to notice that Alchemist was not banned at the first phase I think he's been highly contested throughout this entire tournament but I can't really disagree with the bands of either of the teams really strong in the early game yeah his aura is really good when you don't have you know damage reduction items you don't have hoods or pipes or armor yeah so once I think once it gets later in the game some teams will buy a C's go by pipes go by you know late mails these kind of things and I kind of offsets the aura for ET but in the first 35 minutes you're kind of more focused on getting you know drums Yasha Maelstrom for your carry maybe for your made-up blink dagger even a BKB but once that's out the or is gonna kind of crush you well newbie coming into this trap in their last seven drafts they had first faced 13 different heroes and they're going continuing that step and of course og flora no in the group stage behind Ana's or io going that h OD agony heart of tarrasque ville which of these first phases do you guys like more I kind of like go to juice a little more but that's just my personal take I don't think this such is that grades I know that they like it a lot because it's for them it's flexible at least as far as I'm concerned but I just think that this I owe and et it's just so much comfort for og so I I'm pretty sure that they feel really good about themselves right now like I said the early game is really strong with the whiskey teeth cuz or is gonna increase the damage once this was wisp is 15 and his axe his spirits are just gonna deal crazy mad at damage of you know a teamfight so it's a little scary for any of you this is of course the fourth Vistage pic of the tournament three and one so far still sitting on a hundred and eleven kind of unbelievably only six heroes unpicked so far in this tournament as we go into the second phase obviously new be a lot of flexibility in its first phase here this tiny can be a core can be at the support position where do you guys see this is this definitely a core I think most teams have run in his support really I'm not I think the tiny might look better as a core okay if he gets this blink dagger maybe echo early the whist has kind of high HP if he goes in you know bracer two or thehad but i think he doesn't have much of armor so this tiny will combo him hit him you know two times and maybe he gets low enough that the og can't continue the fight yeah I agree I've got I think this ajiz most suited right now for the support role it's also how most people play them also something to note about oh jeez dual lanes they usually synergize very well like let's say oh gee they lined us wisp and ET together et really enjoys a hero can potentially help him and if it's whisk with him I think it's actually really hard to run into this Lane if you move its remaining it's also double movement speed you get moving teacher and tether and then the whistle match that you tease moving speed that he also gets from spirit so they're gonna be you know speedy running at the enemy off lane if it's a safe lane was expand I think that's more to protect their Vista he does really well against birds he's a natural Vanguard Crimson Guard buyer and he you know he can call the birds he can kill them and a couple spin so I think it's more to protect their visitors you know all right excuse me I think bad writer or bristle bag would be really good for og in this next phase so I'm hoping that newbie ban out one of them preferably the bad writer so you like bristle back for the physical damage against the birds and you like that writer just for waning Patra is just really annoying to deal with for these two heroes okay um he kind of burned through the Vistage really fast saying with tiny is very little turn rate and he's slow here on top of that also it pairs really well with relocate at least for bad writer and bristleback is also just a very non count of to the bird he just turns around has his passive and then reduces damage and then he gets blocked by then he takes actually no damage another game so the optimist band coming out in the second phase you guys did talk about that in the first phase been one of the more contested heroes in the tournament second most band actually maybe first is moved ahead of enchantress yeah so from oh geez ban you can see they don't want a slow game or because this spend in this out you know like a slower game they're gonna be able to farm so the og is kind of trying to get this like maybe slower game with the wisp but they don't wanna you know have this new be in this comfort being in a slogan and from newbie you can see they're a little scared of the team fight from og they're banning the Magnus with RP banning the axe with called abandon the tie doctor with ravage enemies like team fight heroes you can kind of group around maybe they had a blink dagger and then the frontline so I think newbies kind of playing towards their slower style that they can fight into the enemy team without having to five you five I think this is by the way low-key one of this man sneaking best Bureau's Beastmaster he is 14 and 2 in his last 16 pro games on that hero and I think this gives them the option of forcing that tempo early Beastmaster plays very fast I still think there is some chance that this visit will be in that quarter roll with the Beastmaster are that they could be definitely the birds have a low B 80 I think so they work much better with the Beastmaster aura also I think Beastmaster is a little undervalued right now for what he gives to the team he pushes out lanes if he wants to just go for or he can even get necrobook push out lanes by himself but the more important one I think is just a vision that he goes Abbas daughter he gives this vision and teams are so much better at playing around vision these days centuries are a little more hard to come by you know even like at 10 so this hawk kind of scouts the whole team and once you see a hero - you are free to farm the other part of the map so the Rubik here for OG does give us some information here with the elder titan been played almost exclusively in the support position tells us more than likely this is gonna be an honour wisp again Krim stroked matches up well with the Beastmaster you can double roar it's also one of the better heroes against whist from the support if he ever is going to relocate in it's gonna be two heroes that's a free all day well you can instantly get a double R or you can get W no grave chills from the Vistage soul assumptions there's all these like combos that they have built in and it's also one of the better scaling supports early game GPM column so he can maybe their sheep if the game goes past thirty five minutes as you said yeah it might not happen if og has anything to say about it it won't but I think we need to talk a little more as it becomes clear that this is potentially going to be another on Io how do you counter core IO because it certainly looked like nobody in the group stage figures now I think hype is one of the more important things his level 15 good call with the eggs is really scary it does so much damage I think is like 150 per spirit it's really high I think preferably Agnes io you try to fight him before he has his timing this insane power spike is it's 15 with agonist and he gets a Talon the permanent balls and whatever and then like I was saying like if you have good sustained with pipe and maybe some briefs here I think then you have a good shot of playing against the girl yeah and I like you guys talked about bristleback earlier on I really like this pic here number one obviously the physical damage but bristleback is a better power hitter the people give him credit for with warpath and everybody taking the associated talents now also in the mid game if this is a probably a three bristle mmm the wisp is gonna tether to him if he goes out Hart build bristle can't die oh yeah but at the same time the bristle is gonna have five hundred movies fee is passive in phase boots this whisperin is first we're going to run around in the mid game I'm gonna hit your towers you're gonna be so scared you know maybe the person who gives the wisp of solar crest so the waste also hits fast they kind of take these buildings really quickly and I really like the way you put that right I think I think we as casters analyst sometimes overuse the phrase oh this hero can't die that doesn't matter unless that hero is really doing something to threaten and this bristleback is going to be in a great position and this game to do that create so much chaos it also is a one of those nice heroes where they feel forced to jump on you you're hitting their buildings but you have even 18 they kind of clump on this bristle they're gonna get three-man stomped you know that wisp is gonna reload in they're gonna get our earth splitter and then the teamfights gonna look a little scary all right very nice going into the fifth face here it's actually new be banning at the end were spirits despite that being one of the signature heroes lately for CC and C we're waiting on the final band coming out from oh gee here what do you think we're looking at the fit PEC for both teams I think your prospects invoker would run out oh geez line up very well I like it very much against newbies kind of teamfight and I think it just sinners synergizes so well with OG actually I think it would give nobody such a hard time to play this game so I guess this uh this tinier this Vistage have to be course now right one of the two so I think the Bristol pick is gonna make this tiny a core a little scarier on the other side I think the Vistage is way scarier to play against as a Bristol I think movies gonna be more inclined to put this tiny on the middling or what they could do is they put the tiny with the grim in the safe line and they kind of do this big combo to try to burst that bristle in the lane he has inks well you know you toss avalanches so I think Newby is just gonna pick a heart carrier that they're gonna make space for with these four I really agree I wonder if you guys agree with me just overall is we take a step back from the individual here mechanics I feel like Newby have really had an answer - oh jeez so far in this traffic are you surprised by it I mean I pick all right what you want to talk about heroes not dying so what are the Lancer for og mid only know maybe angle I think maybe whisper mid bristle I don't know I want to see it he's an OG radiant I believe they're rating regulators oh yeah oh geez radiant the bristle can actually stack his own paint chips from the mid lane we'd have a cool spray so you can just walk into the cliff full spray snack his own ancients and if he does that every minute for the first five six minutes we hit this level seven and then you can hit level 10 in the next month they'll probably decide off of the last pick on newbie how they put their lens I would actually really like timbersaw here for movie I don't know if they're capable of playing all day here oh yeah like that but they have triple-strength doors yeah forward strength fuels you don't have to worry about scaling too much this patch I think a lot of the hero's scale without needing like a hard carry mmm right so it's like they have their zags now there's moon shards if maybe this tiny gets a neutral late-game even the tiny eggs Daedalus there's your physical damage on the Lincoln so there's timbersaw if they play it with like all their heroes they can put the timber mid or top he's gonna have a good the game he's gonna slow down the game because OG can't pressure him you can sit in for now all their powers I think it's a good pick I like OD and timber I don't know if they're gonna pick a hero for you or maybe in the safe lane and said I feel like they might be thinking about slark I wouldn't like it as much but could be something that makes sense all these heroes are kind of abused is tankiness or like long fights with high sustain provide a life stealer I think it's okay but today it might relax in damage I don't know if he can cut through materials statistically lifestealer there you go that has been a late-game hero in this tournament in the recent past guys we got a heck of a game here underway oh gee facing off against the North American squad for the second year in a row to start their ti main event but before we throw it over the game we've got thanks purged with the last word hey guys Oh G opening with their IO in the first phase is not too surprising considering what I've done with the group done with it in the group stage well it's really effective at doing this once it buys egg and I'm scepter it has a really good mid-range high damage output so it's not good for IO if the enemy heroes can be right on top of it so to cover that oh gee has bristle back to be really obnoxious and tanky to kind of give it some space in between and they can also protect it with their elder Titan support as well as the final Omni night pick they can buff up his strength and make it hard to disable them so something that newbie won't want to do is maybe try to crush the IO in the lane they pick potentially really strong lane supports like the village they could potentially trialing him try to Anu come down before he gets a lot of items or what they need to do is just hit the backline and blow up those here as if possible it's super important that the IO doesn't snowball if they commit to the Iowa they need to kill him without him getting a lot of response kills or it's just going to get worse and we're gonna see a lot of matches like we on the group's safe so with that said we're gonna throw you guys right over the casters and have an awesome match and Alstom match to be absolutely wonderful Sinden I I think we were spoiled for our second series yesterday but hey let's see how we go on the first one newbie versus og we're wondering if there's gonna be a draft advance for og has been drafting this quirky little wisp but as a panel was saying there seems like do we have prep too prepared um preparation really I know Isaac both teams has really different lineups and really different wind conditions in this game it's going to be like a complete clash of styles which has kind of been the case for most of bogies games in the group stage because nobody has their styles so successors thought of every talked about leading into it it's really important for newbies to get on comfort heroes and I think they've drafted a lot of stuff that they've been doing great with that really fits their players and their play styles yeah we were debating I think the timbersaw suggestion was like timber is amazing here but I was thinking does this fit how like newbies they put your war and a hero like timbersaw are they looking for the life sewer or something like Weaver yeah and they do end up going for the more classic type carry which doesn't put them on as much of a timer as a timbersaw would have yeah and maybe that's the mentality they have they're like okay oh gee we'll hit them at game timing and survive that and we'll win late I also just like this energy that comes from the rest of the newbie line I'm like we could look at you up but we've been talking about the grim strim and what can work with soul mind and there's so many different things they can do it and it's energy should be aware of this they were the ones who started trying to find their confidence back at ESL one bombing of by running these dream stroke abusable soul binds and created this meta that we find ourselves still tapping back into every now and then yep this does not look very similar to most of OT stuff from the past though if you were watching OD at TI 8 and you haven't been watching too much dough to this season oh gee have barely played these Heroes all year they they started playing the Carey was just here at TI 9 they've played a little bit of elder Titan on jerax and a little bit of Rubik but this time it's it's no tail on the elbow tight and not having played that too much this season seen a little bit of um they Knight but Thompson bristleback like it's not like they've never played the heroes okay but it's it's not the bread-and-butter og that you would have seen earlier and they're really good at adapting and coming up with new cool strategies so looking forward to seeing how how they pull this off in this game the battles for the runes maybe is able at least grab two of them they couldn't grab the top one sneaking was trying to contest Nortel four do you she said before over so destroyed the last yeah so it's only two runes going the way of new b1 the way of OG that could have almost been three four zero if I love how old who saw them get the ring like we had we had an undisclosed person who was up here before but all the goofy Flags is all the icons over there running it's just like every different pose the goofy can actually take our G I think that like mental kind of play against almost everybody warfare yeah no tell that's a lot of damage he's taking up on top lane sneaking in MSS they put the soul assumption into him already obviously Anna's gonna give the regeneration and this is the lane would assume that we have seen ergy abused her in the group stage as well the et who could just get so much damage from these et Spurs even not in a dual Lane it's enough he runs back in with our plus 55 damage at level one and just wants to beat the crap out of support but it's just fueling MSS with the soul assumption as long as MSS has the sustain yeah I think ot you would like to trade with MSS as much as possible because he's low on region in the lane he hasn't brought too much stuff no mangoes because he wants to go for this quick pass see and I I would imagine who will use the courier soon to get up some mana here visit without my lane is really terrible it's one of the weakest heroes in DotA when it has weak low resources in lane just not very good damage weak animation bad armor and you got to play on that mana especially as a support I want to also kids keep side eye on that mid lane CC and see versus tops and we just go to the grant grown camera we never move away from mid lane CC and see he's already nine three up against the five zero tops news got next a little bit of a wave coming his way though but CC and CSU got a nice toss back onto Thompson so he took some damage from the tier 1 tower maybe not exactly what Thompson was looking for but it does just make you think a little bit more about how the positional play is gonna be coming in here from Archie how can you actually fight against Nubia nationally win a positional battle obviously you have an iron but getting slowed up or control up by grim stroke with the like the sun's that come from him open burns you got another slow down through the grave she'll your Beastmaster or ie loss avalanche like it just seems to just be coming in fades for newbie I think I'm control the key here of the strategy for og is actually only night that we haven't talked too much about because he's the true enabler of the lineup he needs to a hard to spell The Roar he needs to protect the IO or the bristle whoever is the carry of the game will weigh up tight and see who becomes the true carry of it and yeah he is what is going to keep the fights together because if they don't sustain long enough they can just get chops in my burst really thick Emad diving CC and C's got three cool spray stacks up tops gonna come underneath the tier 2 Tower and maybe a little bit too deep is there any support that wants the TPR but c CFC feel that can go back in for a little bit more hit him with the tree tops and solos the CCC still with a 3-course brace axletree stalks it's so much damage but not enough 29 HP as CCNC had to move to the north side of the tower this is why we always keep our eyes on mid Thompson's trying to the names up to this neutral cam see since he's coming over he's got toss available but died alphas win that's still that's a long death timer though he's down for 25 seconds CCMC right now I think should be nuking out this wave and suicide to the tower that way he gets all the experience and gold here and gets back to lane with full resources I hope he's gonna make this exact place buying a bottle yes perfect this is the best play you could make Topsham fortified probably just to make sure the CCNC can't get every single let's see it's just one yeah but one counts for it around with on that the more important thing about the goodness that he gets the experience coming back because if if you haven't flipped that way people would have lost a full wave in tower before his respawn this way he protects three of the enemy creeps keeping them alive outside of the tower range to come back in I love that I love the way the glyph has evolved since it got implemented like people have got more and more creative with how to use it and what it can actually contribute to the laning stage outside of the obvious intended way was implemented originally word was to protect ours since it started affecting creeps you can do a lot of cool things with it tops of copping a lot of damage CC and C new kick down the wave when tossed tossing back Hopson so he took all the brunt of the damage from the towers C since he has a haste rune when he gets every inch again Hopson could just flat-out die here half HP has no region does he have anything coming in no he doesn't courier only brings in Bob he's got a mango he's backing out for the five minutes shrine yes might stack a camp or two as well so farmer frills actually is just gonna farm a doubles man up on top lane sneaking heavy amounts of damage Naruto still got that 115 snaking floor MSS these load of extra space for these four stick charges so no tiles not gonna force this issue now it's time at CC and C's coming over for the five at a boundary 15 bridge pass now it is orbiting as lifestealer your one with the follow-up stunt it's gonna be repelled out by seven but this bounty runes going the way of newbie that's really really big for them that actually means the og og has claimed walk one bounty room there's an elk it's like so far in this game I've got one rune on because the good thing they're not running alchemist then they would have probably got a little bit different approach entirely to the game oh yeah that's that's really big for newbie that's the same as getting like two kills in terms of just raw gold I still wonder like how long does this keep going this way like you got one kill the way of ergy the gold avenge is about 1,000 the newbie the ciass is pretty even across the board but we've seen these timings former G once Anna gets a little bit big starts to sync up with a couple of his other heroes like like the og just roll over every other team how does new be prepared for this they could try to out tap out tempo them before whispers level 15 so there's gonna be this really strong timing for newbie when all their heroes are level 6 when they have Vistage birds when they have roar when they have the soul bind like we've talked about they I think they should be favored in fights around that timing oh geez line up doesn't have that much in the way of damage except the bristle back for a while so I think that would be a good approach and then if you if you get ahead during that time then when wisp does hit level 15 maybe you chill a little bit get key items and then you can go again auras are also a great solution in this game which they will have plenty of with the Beastmaster yeah so all my auras are really good against the bristleback not so good against the io of course but may begin by pipe the ganking up on top at the same time no telling an are coming at the petite one town this smoke maneuver from pile I'd die and see C&C this could be really punishing if they can kill on Panna at the beginning he tethers back actually know tells the whomping slow down see see and see he really wants to kill up the ire he doesn't was the ET adder is the primary target number one Naruto put him to sleep see since he was just out of range for him he'll come back witness the leader safety nerds I'll break this clinicals hundred sixty damage to dissuade newbie the failed rotation from newbies gonna cost them they really wanted that kill on Anna but the positional play from og just to good house just a flower I'll play by Anna going into the bottom left corner there's the avalanche misses inside the jungle still shows up on the board Thompson mid lane CC and C's yeah Hut Thompson still gonna be a little bit more wary yeah he's got double braces he has a lot of students he pushes out the lane he retreats to the jungle he farms two stacks mid Bristol is one of the more effective farmers in the game on gr ax maybe like that trouble set he's run away for the right purification time Jarrett's gonna pick him up throw him back in to get in yo ah he's looking for a creep to infest into and then he can start fighting again pops right back out again up to a lot level life harassment kind of counts for nothing as up here they go once more a nice observe waters in deep tossed in for difficult again as though to the frontlines no towel will fall as Newby now started getting a little bit more active across the map hunting for kills and they've got that range a table of through CT and see I just want to be free I would be free to play dirty they also said I want to use chat wheel they were on holiday in Australia and they were like I want to use chat wheel yeah shut up the bird guy that was great yeah can we have the bird guy on chat wheel I'll be down for that I like what CCNC is doing in mid here he is identifying that the he pressured the bristle back away from the lane for a bit and that bristle will also want to semi jungle so he's trying to constantly push the wave into the mid tower to force a response and defense and that will allow him to eventually break down this tower he's got about half of it so far which is great they also identified the fact that no tiles preparing stacks rim strikes it very deeply observe what's there the stop not gonna sleep up anyway crumb stroke just gonna TP away realizing the stuns already been used but these two observed was has been placed down every time I've seen a G play this IO on dire side they've always pulled him back around that 10 minute mark just to farming up those those those sack areas and they're not looking to block they're looking to contest with the wards and here it is Anna walks up high ground it's like alright boys maybe we should start getting some centuries out because now they're gonna try and flash farm him how much damage can you do like to do you actually just stop pushing towers as opposed to contesting him that's one option it's what be Spencer's definitely gonna do tough but no tail will try is best to delay this push as much as possible one downside to playing 5l to Titan though is that your mana pool is relatively limited so it kind of needs io2 Afsaneh to sustain them in the middle of the ancient seas battling for the ten minute bounty runes once again newbie claiming all four for bounty runes back-to-back bounty winners relocate from iyer it's a pure efficiency that he's already finished up the Dominator like how that are even giving the eye or the tarp depth level 7 so you got little 4 spirits it's just jungling it's got the dumb Creed got a wolf the observe bullets are still watching this but obviously new beam are like if they're gonna go for it and they've really got a go for it a top lane may be an easier choice you got Beastmaster or up on sneaking dirt tiles backing off the spirit walked over the top of grim stroke but I don't think it actually clipped Dave enough doesn't look like OG are too interested in trying to even defend that tower they're looking for a play of their own bottom they have siege creeps they've brought down the bristle back so I think we're gonna see a one-for-one tower trade here with CCNC still trying to push out mid and getting whatever damage you can on that tower that's a hot here to go with bottom lane there like you was not gonna go down like that's still alive still he's in Festus down and looks like God cheering yeah you'll be our steel raycho that's all so Tijuana's you said for a t1 tower straight trade off anarchy is moving out the jungle to ensure the t1 tower remains alive in mid / this moving up from new b1 look at the deep water on the dire ops if they see it as Namor as they walk past which they definitely should is in range of the century meetings I gotta get rid of her quick look if the rest of our G is coming Naruto and Adam trying to work with the alpha wolf even shrining early up familiar birds are ready to fight and they do not want to give out of this room to breathe an MSS even looking to steal the camp now no tell actually a bottom lane with a son the new damage
