it's on the third floor into the mayor's office and I said I bet you there's one on the opposite end of the hall and there's going to be a bathroom right next to it and I walked down and lo and behold there was a there was a water fountain there oh I don't know yeah it's because 50 years ago ago people were very ignorant and they they segregated people and made them drink at different water fountains and use different bathrooms I think it's history is good to remind us how we should never return to but I don't think something like that is a very good reminder after all the suffering people it went through and I so that got kind of I was happy and then I saw that and it's like he did he he went sad I did it's like you know what I mean it's like it's just a symbol of of racism and it's a and it's in a city building and right right exactly I mean we shouldn't forget people were like that so we make sure we know how to raise our kids the right way and treat everybody fairly and kindly but something like that just when you know what it represents it shouldn't even shouldn't even be there but so I was just kind of down so that made me want to go ask other people how their day them um gentleman it said like payroll and there was a hallway so there's an office on the right there's a gentleman working and they're very kind we went to the office on the left said hello um they ignored us so figured they didn't want to talk to us so we continued about our business uh and then the first young lady when you walk into the door um she started accosting us telling us that we weren't allowed to film she actually got in our face uh and then the other young lady got involved and she told me that it was we weren't allowed to film okay I said that City Hall is very good about posting demarcating signs about where On's able to go and not go right and she insisted that there was a sign that we had to go see so we followed her out to where the hallway entrance was and then when we got out there I said oh look no sign she tried to sneak back in and close the door behind us um but we walked in and continued to get our stuff and then I just asked her her name um and I said I gave her my name I was like listen let's let's try and deescalate things a little bit why don't you give me your name I'll give you mine and she was just rude as was the other one but apparently a karinaa we were able to find out that one and then there was another young lady as soon as you walk in her desk on the left facing the window desk on the left I can show you um upstairs or yes I did despite them trying to literally remove us from the office mhm everyone seems to be very nice very kind very professional um but that kind of behavior shouldn't be shouldn't be tolerated and and you have a very inclusive mayor who's open to transparency and education and kind of talking to everyone and just talking it out so I know that training was made available to these employees and I don't think it's because one of them one was here for quite some time I know the younger lady she remember people well I do well what i is after I film a video I take the time to watch that whole video and see what happened and then I do research on what's happened since then I think it's easy to come into a building and flip out on people and be rude and make a make a whole big deal of it and then never return I A A true activist I believe in what I do I've helped a lot of people I've traveled this country and I went from homeless to homeowner and I take my business very seriously so I would like to see some sort of Education I'm not looking for people to lose their jobs definitely bring this up with our team um and we can look into it and you know I even told her I said listen it's if if this is an area that you think has privacy significance and without demarcating it there's no way a reasonable person could expect to protect all of this privacy then what you need to do is get a sign make it authoriz authorized for personnel only and then no one else will come in there and then she chastised me from making the suggestion and then was like all right I'm just going to print up a sign I was like you print it out send it up to Legal they'll tell you that you're within your rights and then you're good to go we we'll we'll bring it to um our team and we can make you know we'll do better thank you sometimes someone just comes been here for a year um maybe they don't know they don't know about you all first of all and so they probably just got very up protecting as you can imagine with anything that's going on in the world um yes but yeah we can educate make better listen it's also help for to them because they could have got anyone else but me and this would have been a whole big thing and I'm I'm about having open dialogue with people to try and improve the system and this is a a very good working machine it works yes I think very well compliment well thank you for being open to speak to us and taking our concerns seriously thank you thank you for pulling me out of the computer screen now as a citizen to it sit down hang out 30 minute break enjoy some lunch what is it called um I think the clerk's office you can fill out a form for records yeah so I can't I can't request someone's personnel file it's an unwarranted invasion of privacy so I don't want to know she was fired this happened but just that someone has even that information that I remember that coming by my um uh my desk and even that I'm not allowed to do unless you request records um you know through the clerk's office yes okay to all right thank you appreciate it you too which she just said is absolutely inaccurate so I can't go to records and request it because records can't be disclosed about an employees disciplinary action so I can't ask how they were disciplined but I can ask that they were and there was something you guys have a good day sir did you get lunch yet uh yeah you did okay good did she get lunch uh I'm not sure I hope she got lunch everyone needs lunch break oh yeah I have no authority over anyone in this building but I'm ordering you with no authority
