Octopath Traveler 2 - How to Farm EXP, JP and Money! (Reach Lv.50 in 2 hours)

ladies and gentlemen welcome back to octopath traveler 2 and today I have a very special episode that's going to be all about easy experience Point farming but not just experience points we're going to be talking about how to get job points how to get the currency in this game the leaves we are going to be having all of these things in abundance with this grinding method and if you guys follow along with a method that I'm using you're going to be getting up to whatever goal that you want in no time at all the method is going to involve going to a very dangerous area called the cavern of waves this particular place has a danger level of 48 but if ochets is level 20 or higher she will be able to capture an enemy in this game that's called the light revenance the light Revenant has an extremely powerful ability that hits the entire enemy party for a sizable amount of damage of light magic this is extremely powerful and this allows you to one shot the entire enemy party and giving you plenty of experience in return however the only requirement for this particular one other than OSHA being level 20 is to have full BP boosts this means that you need to have three extra points to work with when you boost it up you need maximum boost in order to use in the first place but the trade-off is that you will do a ton of damage this is extremely important for leveling yourself up I'm gonna put it up on the screen right now you have other Chats on one and odd shots in the other there is a 20 Level difference between these two characters but if you look at the timestamp the overall time played you will see a two hour and seven minute difference this is a whole amount of time that it just spends grinding at this particular area and the best part is it could have been even faster I actually was messing around for that two hours and seven minutes to gain those 30 levels but uh the reason why I was messing around so much is because I wanted to pick up other classes along the way to find more ways to make this granting method that much smoother and that much more efficient so that when you guys do it it'll take you much less time than the two hours and seven minutes that it took me to get a check from level 20 to 50. so for those of you guys that are starting out to get to the cavern of waves you first need to go to the beasting Bay Anchorage this is north of ochet's starting area make your way over to the uh slightly to the right but staying within the map and then make your way north towards a wharf this will allow you to canoe to the islands in the Middle with a lone cave which is the cavern of waves once you have this you will be able to start farming up as long as you're able to capture your very first revenance there's a save point at the very beginning so if you end up dying don't worry reload the save try again make sure you capture your very very first one and just so you know capturing a light Revenant still counts as killing them technically so you will be able to get the experience money and job points from capturing that in the first place and then from then on things snowball out of control you will get ton of experience and similar to how most RPGs work but it's especially true inoxabath traveler having levels is very very beneficial simply because it gives you more HP which grants you more survivability on top of that you can also have additional physical and Elemental defenses more speed to help you plan out your turns more effectively and predictably and then SP to use your skills as often as you wish not to mention that all of the character path actions scale with the level of the character that's using them so any of the character path actions that use a chance percentage such as throwing A's pickpocketing you will be able to have more chances of that becoming guaranteed the higher level that she is this is extremely good the world is your oyster and honestly with this firing method you're going to be primarily fighting against enemies that are weak to light there are going to be some enemies that will be able to be one shot with the light Revenant skill but there are going to be some enemies that will tank it these particular enemies they tend to be the small alligator looking guys those particular enemies are weak to staff so having a fully charged Mystic staff would generally be enough to make the difference it it's also weak to sword so if you watch my previous video about how to pick up the Forbidden blade from The Forsaken graveyard you can use that as well take advantage of the sword weakness and get some extra damage now for people that are just starting out it's very important to remember that there are some skills that will be very beneficial for making this farming method that much quicker and the first thing that comes to mind is going to be extra experience you get this from The Scholar class scholar class for those of you guys that don't know is going to be located up in the northeastern parts of the conference of the continent which is to the west of winter Bloom called the Western Windsor Bloom snows you'll find the scholar guilds there they will let you have the scholar be a secondary class for one of your characters pick whoever you want make sure you have at least one extra experience if you don't want to bring Oswald's with you but if Oswald is your main character more power to you just keep them on and he'll level up very fast with the Boost from that another skill that is important to pick up is life in the shadows usually whenever you fight against enemies in night time which is exactly what we'll be doing for today's method finding enemies in night time will give them more experience and life in the shadow gives you more experience still so you definitely want to take advantage of that too not to mention that throne and temenos have passive abilities that buff and buff the party and debuff the enemy party which is very very important especially in temenos's case you probably want to keep this guy around as well because he lowers the elemental defenses of your enemy party for a handful of turns and because the light Revenant uses light magic damage there's a very decent chance that you're going to one shot the entire party with that powerful light damage another class is very very important to get is going to be located over in crack Ridge you go over to crack Ridge Harbor Anchorage make your way north towards the Western crack Ridge Wilds this will take you to the merchant scale it shows the guy standing in front of a tent you can use the merchant class on a very Speedy character in my case I was going to be throne and you can give more bp to ochet early on as soon as possible like I mentioned before the summoning of the light Revenant is going to require a maximum boost so giving her as much boost as possible is going to be beneficial generally speaking all the other skills that come to mind I mean you have grows on trees from the merchant class that gives you more money if that's what you want to do you can also go ahead and consider of BP boost for any of your characters giving them more bp is beneficial for the purposes of either more damage or giving them over to a chats so that you can summon as soon as possible uh it's also worth pointing out that you can have multiple uh revenants on your team or in a chat's roster so even though it says you can only use one per battle uh you can only use one per slots per battle so you if you have like four slots you can use it four times in a single battle but most of the time it won't take that long now one other thing to point out too about this particular method is that there are going to be the metal slime type enemies the Kate sets the octopuffs they're also available here and they give a ton a ton of job points a ton of experience and a ton of money the amount of times can take for you to get from level 20 to 50 uh will vary depending on how lucky you are with getting them honestly I like to bring particular onto the team simply because he has access to instant Max BP and then you can use that to do the hired help the enemies in this area do drop a fair amount of money so spending the extra money to seal the deal with some of these tougher enemies or just to keep you guys alive is generally going to be worth it it will mitigate the costs by whatever enemies that you're fighting against let's just say you want to summon the guards for example that costs seven thousand but the enemies drop 2500 meaning that you are going to be saving a fair amount of money and it won't cost as much and as long as you don't do it every every single battle you will be making your money back with a surplus so that is a very very important thing to keep in mind as well uh pretty much just have a merchant be someone that is fast that can go before all chat so that you can have your uh points be given to her as soon as possible uh she is really the only essential one on the team I did mention that temenos has a tendency to debuff the elemental resistance so he might be a good choice early on just so you can seal the deal for the first couple of kills and then now when you seal the deal on them you'll start a snowball out of control with all the experience that you get um yeah and also he gives the ability to debuff them with a blind so most of the enemies in this map they are physical based so you do have a decent chance of surviving a turn uh in case you find yourself getting caught off guard or stuff like that in terms of equipment don't worry about it too much I did mention that the Forbidden blade might be useful for the purposes of uh whittling down the HP of some of the enemies that do not get one shot by it I would say though just um focus on just getting as much damage as you can for what is available but don't sweat if you don't have uh the best stuff necessarily there isn't really too much to say about it just have whatever you have that is available and as you get higher levels you will be able to easily acquire whether by stealing or entreating with agnia items from characters that are from much later game towns in this particular map so that is another thing to consider as well if you feel yourself in the need for more power but for the most part though as long as you have a chat on your team you should be good to go so what I'm gonna do right now I'm gonna switch the other file that you saw I'm going to go to the level 20 oh chats I'm going to show you guys how to capture your very first light Revenant and then how to fight the first couple of matchups as we go along so I'll see you guys there all right so here's the deal I am currently playing on the file with the level 20 oh shifts this is going to be a bit of a scuffed run but on purpose if I can do this with less of an advantage then you guys will be able to do with more of an advantage uh one of the primary disadvantages that I have is that I did not give any secondary classes to any of the characters if you guys have a merchant on a fast character then this will go by a lot smoother because with more bp comes a lot more avenues for increasing the damage that you do on the enemies that you fight letting you survive for longer because they're dead and you were not for the most part though you are going to be running away from a lot of the animes you're going to be running away from most of the enemies in this particular file actually until we encounter our first light revenants it's very unmistakable looking monster it's just a giant Golem that does extremely extremely powerful attacks in this case it's the Moonlight a very very dangerous very very deadly but but thankfully there is a save point at the very beginning of this particular area so if you find yourself wiping don't worry about it reset try to capture as long as you can get your first chapter things can really escalate from there also I want to point out too that there is the ability to alter the game speed you can double the speed to make the fights go by faster you definitely want to do that if you're going to be grinding for two hours plus you definitely want to make sure you have yourself in a situation where things go by a lot quicker I'm probably gonna hold on to this file just for the purposes of keeping things challenging so that when I do guides you guys will able to uh know what strategies work best okay so quickly look over at the skills as you can see I have this basic basic skills for everyone on here I don't even have the uh experience buff either so this is going to be a lot trickier for me but as long as you guys have BP boost as long as you have the ability to um use different classes increase experience points you guys will do a lot better than I will on this particular file and like I said save point is right here just Camp around it don't worry about it if you find yourself in a position where you need to leave there is the quick travel option on the world map you can reuse Supply from there if you have to but honestly worst case scenario just reload the save file don't worry about it now we just ran away from an enemy encounter with all those insets so that's generally what you want to do because that's going to give you a ton a ton of um of uh experience because there's so many of them pretty much anything with four enemies at once is the one that you want to use but uh here we go as you can see there is our guy this is the uh the fables light revenants and we're going to be focusing most of our attention on him so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna try to whittle down his HP as best as I can if you guys get him down to Red HP you will be able to get a decent amount of damage off of him okay so what I'm going to do is I'm going to donate hmm let us donate to BP because we can and we are going to for the purposes we don't even need to heal just yet I feel like if the light Revenant attacks patissio he should still be able to survive so what I'm gonna do I'm gonna miss call staff this guy just actually no you know what let's stay safe for now let us just heal wounds why not keep everyone healthy and I know that this guy is also weak to axes so we can also use that oh wait no no it's not axis I think it's Bose okay the time last got hit that's fine what I'm gonna do is I'm going to use the hunter skill like hole trap to move this guy to the path oh wait no it only affects the seconds people on this game on this in this game it only affects people on this on the next turn whoops okay so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna hit one more time the light revenants Patricio is going to get hit which I am perfectly at peace with and we're gonna use one buff for the guard one boost that's gonna Whittle down his HP even more all right and I think this guy's in red HP right now so we can go ahead and heal wounds and hopefully we survive oh man never mind okay this is uh we actually need to run away from this one let's reload the save foreign up uh he has the Mystic staff ability which lets him which lets him heal back the SP that he loses so hopefully we're lucky if not we can just restart this recording session it's fine this is a very very tricky situation we are constantly surrounded but again this tends to happen some people get lucky on a previous recording session I actually was able to get on the first try but some people might not be as lucky also keep your mini map up you want to keep your mini-map up because you want to see if it's nighttime or not if it's not nighttime you don't get the benefits uh do you want for the purposes of today's video let us yeah you know what let's just use an inspiring Plum I I barely use these I might as well start using them so again we want to get ourselves a light Revenant that like if he's into the AOA attack that's the attack that we're gonna be using for farming as well so you guys get a little bit of a sneak peek of that now this Gator guy he's very tanky he can actually tank one hit of the light revenants so you want to make sure you can Whittle down his HP for whatever left over he's not so bad although he does have an annoying attack that does a lot of damage on multiple hits okay so this is actually a very fortuitous moment for us because we could in fact take advantage of this again these things they drop so much money that uh you'd be okay spending a little bit I'm gonna use the Beast links when they target with points and look how much money that is we were able to get all of that back and we got so many levels from that attempt that we can actually have a better chance of surviving next time because look at that every time that you level up you get a full heal so yeah just keep working on that oh good we got one that's isolated this is even better so in a case like this it may be a good idea let's see I'm gonna go donate the BP to ochet and I'm gonna use a leg hole trap which will delay him for the next turn okay perfect now let's go one boost and we're gonna hired help the guards for a single boost [Music] and we got ourselves a break we're going to use mystical stuff lowers HP even further he is currently at Red exactly what we want and just like that we got it so we are pretty much all set to go for the method uh quickly just gonna go over um the monsters over here real quick you want to disable automatic capture because that's going to make things go by a lot faster uh you will want to manually capture whatever light reference you do see especially early on early on they do have a chance of killing your entire party uh you unlike me you will be saving after every single attempt or ever every single Victory simply because you'll want to make sure you can retain the experience you don't want to end up in a position where you suddenly wipe and you lose a very very lucky battle I mean we had the Kate Sith fights you don't want to lose out on that but basically the general flow of battle is that you want to donate whatever BP you can to watch that best case scenario is gonna be all the bugs but a fight like this could get tricky because they do prevent you from boosting your characters as you can see over here in this particular attack it is not going to go well for us but we're gonna do what we can okay what we can do is I'm going to just defend for now I'm gonna donate a single boost to ochet is not gonna be able to recover anything oh really really bad this one this went South so fast of course it would be it would be during the recording session as well wouldn't it oh man I hope I hope I don't die okay let's try this again that particular one can be tricky it's better if you fight those things later later on oh man I have to use olive on this guy because he's dead okay for the purposes of today's video we'll do that yeah we'll get as well why not okay let's try that one more time again this is one of those things where you just have to roll with it uh it doesn't always work the first try okay this is a relatively easy one as far as I'm aware so what you want to do is just donate to BP and let's see this guy's weak to sword I think this guy's also weak to staff no and thankfully the blinds really came and came in handy there East lore provoke light revenants and that's curtains and you're gonna get a ton of experience from this one it would have been more if we still had the if we still had the extra experience skill from The Scholar but pretty much you want to be in a position where you can do that repeatedly and that's exactly what we're trying to do over here so again this is ideal because every enemy here is weak to light and also the the placements of our characters is also perfect this is the perfect ideal place to do this so it defends full Boost revoke light Revenant everyone here is weak to light so they will take full damage from it that is probably the best one to end up with those jellyfish that almost killed us or wiped us earlier they're also a good source of experience pretty much anything with four people at once would be ones that you want to go after uh but yeah you want to pretty much continue on with this particular method continuously uh like I said the whole thing about this is that even though it took me two hours and seven minutes it's gonna take you a lot faster if you kind of learn from the mistakes that I've made and kind of go from there other than that though I mean not really much else to say I would say that overall for the most part experience grinding isn't super necessary for octopath traveler at least for the main game I think for post game it might become more and more useful simply because having additional advantages against the hardest challenges of the game you may have to expect some more challenge as a result of that and more counter play but as far as levels go though it's very very beneficial overall you gain so much from it simply because of um oh is this gonna kill oh boy that was scary like you you have so much to benefit from with your levels like I mentioned earlier the character attack paths or the character path actions they scale with the level and the additional HP it just makes things a lot easier overall it makes for a much smoother playing experience it also opens up to more experimentation with the different builds and you can afford the versatility with how much job points you get from this particular grinding method so guys I hope you really really make use of the grinding method that I've showed you guys if that's something that you choose to do uh I would say that octopath it doesn't necessitate grinding as much in comparison to most similar games simply because there are so many things that are available you can access equipment so that's very very powerful relatively early on without being time gated by anything you can have the proper skills all the proper classes all the proper setups to do as much damage as possible stats they certainly go a long way as far as survivability goes when it comes to HP and Elemental and physical defenses but if this is something that you want to do and if you think it makes you much more comfortable then by all means the reason why you guys are here the reason why you guys want to watch guide videos is because he wants to have some advantages and I'm more than happy to give you guys advantages and it's a lot of fun to even work your way up towards it it's very satisfying to see all those levels go up seeing that difference from a level 20 out chat to a level 50 of chat it really makes a huge difference and I hope it's something that you guys will use to enhance your experience playing octopath
