I experimented with a few techniques to create this water ripple effect in the resin and the one that worked best was a simple finger poke šŸ¤£ā™

That is absolutely beautiful, the problem is with your videos, 10mins becomes an hour after watching another 6 videos! They are all very hypnotic

Omg this is so beautiful. Now Iā€™m thinking of 3D printing a version of this to pour as a resin model.

These wooden boxes can be purchased from most craft stores in a variety of shapes and sizes Begin by making a form to match the size of the lid from 3mm foamex or similar Double sided tape is used to attach the pieces together Add a reinforcing bar and seal all around with hot melt glue To create the wave effect I used Super Sculpey modelling clay :/ Roll out a sheet of clay to a thickness of about 3-4mm Cut out a piece of the clay to match the size of the lid How do you cut the sea in half? With a sea saw XD If you don't have a tool to press holes in the surface you can always count on your fingers Random patterns work best Don't worry if you push the clay over the edge, it will be trimmed back Trim back the edges and round off the corners with your finger again I don't often talk about my fingers... It's a touchy subject XD Bake the Sculpey at 130Ā°C (275Ā°F) for 15 minutes Don't put PVC foamex in a hot oven or it will melt I've never done that before :/ Stick the baked clay piece to the foamex form using double sided tape Now glaze the surface of the entire piece with UV resin If you sit the resin in hot water for a few minutes it will become more fluid and easier to brush on The resin will cover any small gaps or imperfections Cure the resin under a powerful UV lamp for at least 10 minutes Apply the form to a sheet of self-adhesive vinyl and create walls around it using more foamex What do you call a clock made out of vinyl? The vinyl countdown XD Seal up all the joins with hot melt glue Did you hear about the man who accused his wife of putting glue on his weapon collection? She denies it but he's sticking to his guns XD About 120g of moulding silicone I didn't cure this in the pressure pot because the hollow form would have sucked the silicone into it under pressure The mould carries a perfect glossy shine For this project I'm using about 200g of my usual non-toxic epoxy art resin This resin has a 2A:1B mix ratio by weight Add a few drops of DecorRom Forget-Me-Not translucent pigment (links in description) Mix thoroughly, taking care to avoid introducing air bubbles Get ready... Kill the bubbles! Allow to cure thoroughly before removing the resin from the mould Wow! Looks like glass :D Mark the positions for some pilot holes Drill some small holes to the same depth as the screws I was going to cover my drill in glitter, but that would be pretty boring XD Attach the resin to the wooden box using the same screws Finished! Thanks for watching! [Alexa] You don't have to worry about water because drips don't get wet... they just get bigger
