Coincidently, I'm going to see Noel Gallagher tonight. Looking forward to what Oasis songs he lets out.
(Whatβs the Story) Morning Glory is such a good album. So many good songs on that album. This song, Morning Glory, Some Might Say, Donβt Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall of course, and some others.
The "sound" of this song makes it a very memorable mix. The song structure & arrangement itself is very simplistic, yet the effects chosen to enrich the overall song were ingenious choices. Near the end you can even hear birds chirping in tune with the music for a few brief seconds.
This album is so interesting. Despite how HUGE this made oasis at the time, this is one if the most cited examples of how much compression studios were using to produce albums instead of recording them properly.
Donβt Look Back in Anger was my first introduction to Alternative Rock. I was raised on country music, and I have never gone back to country since.
Fun fact: Paul Weller from 'The Jam' is playing guitar in this one!

The Oasis documentary 'Supersonic' had a clip with Liam recording vocals for Champagne Supernova and my god are his vocals incredible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaqdil-Kg60
IMO, What's The Story and Definitely Maybe are two of the the best albums from the 90s. I can listen to both of them from start to finish. And each time it sounds better.
