yes Mireille you from DC or from Brooklyn cuz I used to what the hell University so everybody thought I was from details right now so I want to tell the high school I live in Flatbush Brooklyn get out alright alright yeah yeah yeah just want to make sure everything's gonna be cover study he gave like five of these like you know all of Joyce how the first time that big please forget it one late night son what's a headlight three four shows in one night and we're just going from Philly and Jersey back and forth and I was just like how is Duke just gonna do all these shows like as big as he is and as far as graph controlling just the way Duke used to just perform and just float across the stage that's like and I that used to really bug me out and then you know I just stepped aside outside your door you ready for the next one he's like yeah whatever like that was his favorite word whatever let's do it you know what I'm saying so I was I guess I'm gonna win it's gonna be the best as far as like the media they usually do excellent job of just portraying all the negative especially when you're young and you and you're successful law people are following you they really try to bring you down the negative wasn't even really a part of his personality to me everyone can do whatever they want to do whenever they're not around do you understand but when he was around us he never showed us anything like that if it was women or girls or whatever they never felt uncomfortable or threatened by being in his presence because he was so so polite to people so nice to people had conversation for anybody doesn't matter who you are if he's in the street getting out of a car and a girl wants to get his autograph a little kid wants to get his autograph he would stop tell everybody wait let me just do this and go upstairs so someone like that who's so good hearted like that you know I really I really can't feel although although all the negative gangsters are gangsters they rob and steal I just robbed about what I know and what I've been he was so charming when it came to women I remember going around the music business and saying biggy is gonna be a ladies man and they was like not that dude you know how do you figure that I said yeah I never seen him around women and then he was real charming it was like hello how you you know can I take you to lunch you know it was like not just the average street corner yo baby what's your name you know he was he was a gentleman when it came to women and that's why women used to love him even in his rhymes his his Roz was gentleman you know he wasn't that you know he had to or I'll kill you but I could you know what you could still love me at the same time and that's what man cut the jokes falling captive people laughing like people will look at them music can be like ham but then when that once they meet him maybe like oh he's nothing like that you know we pretend this together approach them but once they made them in all good he's a smart dude that was the deceiving part like like you you hear him talking to get old pros or the ghetto words and speaking the language of the hood but he he could sit the room with anybody and have a whole whole conversation with them that was the deceiver part if you ain't really get to know him you would never get to see that puppet like all these people that he has personals with so you don't say like hey a person was everybody has that's what everybody could say that but there's a lot of people they have personal with him because he understood the nature of the game there's no need for me to get tight with everybody I'm gonna get tight with the people that's holding me down he was a very cool beautiful brother to pad things together a sense of humor very smart very atypical as far as artists go in this game and looked out for a lot of people if I didn't say that already and a lot of people look grateful and appreciative to him for it everybody wanted this get to that level you know I'm saying everybody wanted this be big at what they're doing I mean I know I do I look at everybody else and you know they got the crystals and they got the pretty girls and they got the Benzes and everything so that's kind of like that's like the mediocre stage for everything right now we wanted to take it to that next level he was such an extraordinary rapper and musician and I think that comes with the territory for you to be at that particular point in your life in terms of people just saying like you are the king of New York you you know you're a music legend within your time I think people just really have to check for at least a 99.9 percent of all your music let's talk about the album I almost call ready to die it's just a big pile with different slices of things that happen in my life I guess I figured it out like this if you wake up in the morning you know say and you ain't going to school you ain't working you hustling every day trying to get some money you're risking your life every day and you're doing it every day what I am hesitation so you ready - you don't really kill you're just trying to get people that's something else on your mind that's something else on my mind so what a song about it here's a big man black you know say like he's saying ugly lazy I've been you saw - he's a player sex-symbol amy was crazy with the lyrics but he wasn't just a lyricist you're saying he tells stories you'll see here mayor aspects to his thing he's the only real hardcore rapper that kept doing one more chance and people will love this he'll be respected any respect and sake hard core things and his lyrics that people probably pick up on like they put on a radio that they may meet you outside but he has a way of he has a way of making you feel like bringing the hardcore stuff to you what it would like with a swing like a charisma yeah everybody you maybe find one a few others that can basically kill any beat so it made hit yeah it was like he he was searching for a certain thing that brought this out of him like the first time I played him hypnotized because I did hypnotize I did hypnotize and the first time he heard it like big was it like big never wrote words down on the paper like very rarely let me really did you'll see a paper out you know I'm saying like I seen one one when he did on when he did on a D&D studio when he did home it's unbelievable baby swans he had a paper I seen it the only time I've seen big were the people right and I don't even know if it was a whole round of may have been something he adjusted but when when I played him hypnotized big was a big duel so this chair right here would be leaning all the way back he grabbed the side of the thing came all the way over to me so you listen to this right here biggie biggie biggie can't you see sometimes your bird that's it he's I ain't gonna tell you no more just wait till I finish it like he just he wouldn't really tell me his rhymes it was like I knew I was gonna prove it maybe one line I didn't like cuz he made went or he may went to the deep end like you know talking about some my mom's or something like that because he felt like doing it for a minute but but most of the time it was like I ain't had this question nothing cuz he knew exactly what he needed and he knew what he could rock the best life after death is the flip side of things you know I'm saying I can't rhyme about being broke more hustling in the streets no more cause I also know more you know so it's the life after just all that's over with now you know saying I ain't hungry no more you know now there's a new beginning I'm saying that's the life after the death you know every artist wrap arm be whoever I work with there's pretty much judged but with being yeah he could come in a room and do his thing and he didn't leave until it was done you know and how professional he was behind the mic I mean you know he had his sound he liked it a certain way you know you say Steve give me this give me that boom man you know he perfected his you know what he wanted you you would never see right I mean I mean I judge everybody by that ever mean we barely did any punches I mean he made sure that he did his rap or his rhyme all the way through but you didn't object the point right if you had to do it yeah what else I can't even count how many times we had to do it because I mean it was probably maybe you know three three times I want us on a track and three verses you know and then us and that's about it he's just that good and part about not right and I saw him write one time well somebody's got a doc cuz puff told him to change the Hinton and the first yes yeah it totally changed and he was like dub what does that's gorgeous right there so he said I he wrote it down and he went in and he did it and his you know it's a classic I kind of knew what I didn't want to do I didn't want to be that ghetto corner rapper you know when I have my dreams of giving me game and wasn't just to get in the game and still be on the corner like you know I wanted to get in the game and get the big house and the cars and with the pool and I wanted to do all of that you know and I know in order to do that certain things you have to do is just on where you could pinched off in this add your flavor to it we linking up with pump the old familiar to old tracks you don't and that's gonna get adult attention you know saying it's just the lyrics it's gonna get the younger dudes attention so keep them both I mean hey if they wonder where the versace and cool jeans and the can goes and yeah biggie biggie and solder with me i ain't got no problem especially for his crew and especially they looked up to him he said off like he went up into this thing and they display and he was biased Ignis his whole crew headed by Snickers Hughes Bon Jovi his whole crew had to give me some jewelry that's just I was just help he said in his records but that was not now wasn't this lyrics that was big I was Christopher Wallace the first time I even met big and we was up at Scottsdale we had no dough puffs was in there so the stash was in there you know and we had we was hungry he was working his studio waiting for this cat to come home so we can get busy you know saying and I mean big came I was proud to be scrambling up me d-roc a big much a scrambled up like a good six 675 and got some pieces you know saying he ain't know me from knowing my name well I was included in you know that's just as like he was like yo you fam there that's what that's how I initiate to me like are you here you struggle with this let's make it yeah I mean you are hungry shopping my team not just one state or one country you we finish you rest our feet that's my mentor my best friend my love I'm nothing that's my baby he's all that right and he got your skills he helped you were just scared yeah he's definitely like you know my mentor like you know thinking like my mom's and everything and NASA I took that as a compliment you know what I mean it's that man is dope and to me he's the best rapper when I started my own board over you know I was rolling with a bunch of little dudes you know I'm gonna run away on the corners or whatever on Islands thank you once I get on and get my foot right where I need it I'm gonna go put y'all on that's on y'all - bum-rush you there was up with you mom quick just got signed a big beat go saying obviously those done do this by myself Clark Kent you know a few others easy-out people that bought anybody this helping me out you know he saw me trying to make my movie from like way back when yeah everybody click his people that bend down from when I was in the back room at my mom's crib you know saying they knew what was gonna happen and they just was willing to wait and see what I had in store you know I wanna go money makes the world go around so I have to make a few moves here and there but I got it so with J I'm out this summer it's gonna be a beautiful experience what an emotional talk about possio life relationship with faith I mean wait together no more just had a baby together we clear though we warned at each other and I would be at the studio whatever's - working on the album the bomb the relationship a workout but you know we're gonna always be together because you know we got a little story together so that's the gonna be the happy part of me aha is good to know the mothers of his children all beautiful responsible people to be able to know how to teach his children that what a great man he was and you know because they do that every day you know understand I give you around as kids they'd no biggie you know I'm saying they know that's my daddy biggie and they know his records and you know they'll grow up with a sense of pride that you know he touched a lot of people and he was a great man you know he changed a lot of people's lives [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] silly stuff about big universe and that he stood to like he seemed like he's the Singh and could really sing like I know when he first did wanted to do the song player haters I'd like to take you back to the class [Music] like he really sang that song you know Santa they used to be real funny to see him doing it because he knew that he could do it you know he used to sing in the shower and and and used to do silly stuff like you know you go see him and he'd be like yo all right y'all get on my wing and cuz I'm getting ready to get in the shower and you'd be like nah we leavin go ahead get in the shower keep you like yo i'ma get up naked like he be sitting down maybe with a towel over and he'll just pull the tie warm and stand up and we'd be like ah that we leave my siste always answer the phone will taste beating and so he would always call my direct line whenever he needed to speak to puffy or you know some money in the company and so it didn't dawn on me to like maybe two months later and he would always say something but I couldn't really catch what it was he was saying so finally I said um would you say big and he was like how you doing miss speaking and I was like I miss speaking and he was like yeah you always answered only I'll taste speaking so that's your name it's bacon right so I was like okay you got jokes so that was like really wanted [ __ ] his things though and so then that became my new name how you doing miss beacon everything was high a speaker was tough how you doing miss speaking as big so that was like this little personal joke we had each other [Music] you [Applause] he was I knew he wasn't serious but I didn't have it the check was at the studio waiting for him the Quran is going to pick up the set what was funny about it is that you about how we have to give his money even outside into check was where it was when I think we even went to the next door off his adjacent marketing round away and there's a whole bunch we always made every print apart and yes we would keep everything even when taking clear this business see one of everyone to be happy when you run and I thought that from rink and it's always the big spot we look around we see in the studio way at daddy's house you know how you got that lazy eye to hide your going everywhere so sometimes you'll know you're talking to so I'm sitting at the board I've been doing I turn around he keeps talking I keep turning around and you know if you got in his business he said playboy you know play your position why people do you think and then there's certain times we was talking to you and he's looking over here but he's talking to you you know playboy why why are you not doing what I'm asking you to do and I'm like well you look now I was looking at you I'm like oh man and it's a couple times also same lazy eye story a soda was sitting on the table and he was just leaning you know I went in the studio he leaned back in the chair I mean I played chess great but leaned back and you thought he was about to go knock over the soda but he went grab some milk in between the sodas [Music] and you know he was just so you know he was like children feed him things that [Music] so much know being in the streets or whatever I've been through so much my mom's don't been through so much and feel good at this how varieties you know her son is cool in the streets doing no wrong he trying to make it happen I gotta stay on the positive vibe all my peoples got to stay on the positive pop the negativity just brings failure you know I mean trying to fail in this game we trying to succeed what started out as a celebration of music turned into a wake for another member of our hip-hop family unknown suspects apparently fired multiple rounds at one victim by the name of Christopher Wallace age 24 Christopher Wallace better known as the notorious b.i.g had left a private party at this Museum in honor of the Soul Train Music Awards and was sitting in a suburban truck and someone opened fire we shots and basically everybody started money by the time Biggie arrived at cedars-sinai Medical Center he was dead at the age of 24 I couldn't even believe it because I wasn't out in LA at that time so I was home sleeping so it's like the middle of the night it was just a weird phone call I just got a phone call and my man Derrick angeletti was just yelling on yelling on the phone they killed big they killed big imma call you in fact they killed big but I remember just hanging up the phone and I was just like they were saying were they talking about right now and then like I were to later we couldn't get in touch with anybody we're calling everybody couldn't get in touch with them and an hour to later di called me back and told me that they killed big out there and it was something that was just felt like the world just crumble you give somebody a pound and like 10 minutes later that person in which you know more and and then but then you have to see the faces of all the people that you was just with our go and nobody got in looked and nobody speak that's real the more money you make the more problems to get and jealousy every is this something that comes with the territory man a lot of people if it's negative energy like my man Paul say I got a phone call from Damian and Damian called me and he was crying and what he said to me was he was saying on he's gone he's gone and I was trying to like really understand what he was saying to me you know it was like um who's gone you know he kept saying yo he's gone he's gone and he didn't ever have to say biggie because it was Damian on the phone you know saying and he was crying and I just from that day forward I really never had an emotion towards that that that phone call he lungs and it was like I just went numb you love saying I mean I was I wasn't home I got up and I got dressed and I don't know how I got home you know I'm saying it was like I just knew that I was in front of my door and I was sitting in my truck and it was like how did I get here you don't understand like that's how zoned out I was actually that was like one of the I think the saddest day of my life because I had never ever ever experienced anything as tragic as that I was actually out in LA at the time because I was working on play bad boy I was a very close to a puffy as his executive assistant and I was at my hotel and I had received about three calls actually was more than that but I guess after the third called that's when I decided to really take the phone calls seriously because you were always subject to all different kind of room the media had just been such a force in perpetuating a lot of negative stereotypes and just rumors rumors rumors and so you know I had received the phone call that he got shot and didn't believe it until like I said after the third phone call and actually one of the people in my promotions department called and they were in front of the hospital and uh they want to speakerphone and that's when I heard one of the security officers I was prior and he was telling me he wasn't going anywhere that night so I was resting with that I was comfortable with that then to be awakened early in the morning to a phone call with someone yelling and screaming and crying and in the background just really unnerved me I'll never forget that moment to tell you how I felt I felt empty I felt empty for one because I wasn't there I felt like damn if I was there maybe I could have done this so I could have done that so I was going through that guilt trip thing as if it was my fault I felt like like my world was was crushed like I lost a friend I was in LA I was shot it was disbelief I was running the company at the time it was my obligation to make sure that no other heart no no additional harm was brought to anyone else and the family because that's what we were a bad boy your family and that's what they are today a family I had to step up into administration mode let's get out of LA let's get back to New York let's make preparations to get him back home and then let's try to figure out how we're going to give him the best going-away ceremony possible when that fits his character and I conducted the funeral along with rain barrel who is co-manage met with Mark Pitts of these Korean Affairs at the time and it was a hard ordeal for all of us I was particularly concerned for Sean because they were best friends and I knew that the effect that it would have on him I would have to deal with a lot longer than whatever administration duties that I might have had in in dealing with Big East situation at that moment the pain still lives with us all to this day because whenever we hear his music we wish that he was here to enjoy the effect that he has had on so many people because seeing them smile he would just smile even more [Music] I kind of realized how powerful two [ __ ] hours you know I'm saying because we two individual people we one man against one man made a whole West Coast hate a whole East Coast and vice versa you know saying and not really bugging out like yo Duke the lightning so this whole coach don't like me he'll say I don't like him so my whole coast on like him it just kind of let me know how much strength I had so what I'm trying to do now you know say is untimely demise or whatever I gotta be the one to flip it and take my power and flip it like yo they gotta be dead you know I'm saying because he can't do that you know saying he can't be the one to be like yo I want to squash it because he's gone so I gotta take the way from both side that's why I'm out here you don't see me in every club every radio station you know we get our little eye screws everything but I just tell them straight up y'all you know you love me it's real cuz I mean come on you don't got ready to let's be real be real you don't say this because that they had a beef me I had a beef with him that told me you can't like me ask me what's going on ask me what's going on i'ma talk to you just like you a regular person so I got a swatch and they were still friend if I been notorious part out it was shut everything down what's going on me doing their thing over and over the shut down have the best aureus you were wrong with this you know it'll be nuts right now we used to see Tupac all the time when he came to New York Houston show with us used to go to clubs there was another excellent person you know it's definitely every time I used to see to product I didn't see em that much we didn't even have too many words for each other I knew his name he knows my name everything but every time I saw him I gave him why I love was having a big year the same type of people they're just trying to do it they're not settling until they're the best they weren't settling today with the biggest rap stars every big and Tupac was still here and and besides all the negativity that probably drew them apart when they were friends originally I think they would have been making songs together they would have probably been in a movie together where was just big and Tupac headline in the whole movie and all America is going to watch it it's a strong dude yo I know dude you don't saying he's real strong so when they was like he got sow I was just more like again getting shot at he gonna pull through this one again make a few records about it and it's gonna be over you know saying but when he when he died I was just like walking kind of took me by and even though we was going through our drama I would never wish death on nobody you don't think I ain't no coming back from that so it kind of turned me down a little bit but at the same time you know you got to move on you know I fell for his mom's for his family or whatever but you know things gotta move on you know am I still feeling so we got the records you know he run the radio station he got heavy rotation shot every room every row so he gonna be always be I guess if I can think idealistically that you know you know they definitely would have probably done something musically together I would have loved to see them do something musically together do something on film you know have a phenomenal tour I definitely think though that if I can think optimistically that you know all the other extenuating circumstances that surrounding it because of my personal opinion there really was no beef then but that's a whole nother story um I would have liked to see them definitely do something together musically I think the fans would have to [Applause] if biggie was here today on his birthday he would be or that would have already planned one of the biggest parties in New York maybe the biggest two or three parties since it looks as if it's falling on a weekend this time he would have covered the whole territory in New York and it would have been on and poppin and I'd have been looking for my invite and I would have had to wait in line if I had to get in that party because you want to be where he was on his birthday and it would've been more than just more convulse and smoking blunts and poppin crystal bottles you know tipping bottles little bit about community love family relationships and fun you know what I mean and he would have been the perfect host because that's just how he got down he had fun making sure you had fun you there's baby's birthday we'll be doing today hmm we get we going to club whatever club is hot right now the bar really party you'll buy out the bar and we don't buy the bar for everybody yeah everybody everyone's drinking anyone Gingka you don't you stop drink you're drinking tonight you know everyone's drinking birthday one of the lie hey wonder where my gifts that you this year I know what biggie birthday party would have been this year on his birthday he would have officially opened up his own strip club and he would have been the only person guy in that strip club where all of his strippers for his birthday because that's what he wanted he wanted a strip club and he would have been on a dance floor and he would have been naked and he would have it he just would have been [ __ ] him and two hundred bottles of crisps down it and fifty strippers and he would have had a great time that's what he would've did Danny would have went across the street to big Papa's chicken and waffles the other idea he wanted to do you know and that's how he would have ended his birthday no and he would have went home you there's notorious b.i.g would definitely have his crew with him a nice big gigantic bottle of crystal don't want to say what else but but definitely that would definitely be one of the Lula party things going on definitely having fun no definitely enjoying himself and cracking a lot a lot of jokes funny guy very very funny guy you his birthdays everybody's birthday huh yeah the new Rolly that he got for his birthday the new Rolly the one that expend it all away up to the elbow you as big was here today on his birthday you know I think everybody would just be excited you know like I told you had that that oil with that power he made everybody feel good I think that everybody would be excited
