Nostalgic Review - The Noid Toy Review - Domino's Pizza

[Music] hey all of you nostalgic kids welcome to the nostalgic review I'm Lyle and I'm gonna bring you a wonderful noid tastic review now the naive you have to remember the noid from dominos if you don't you really missed out on this advertising campaign it was created in 1986 by group 243 Will Vinton Studios sketched and animated the character I can believe it because he was claymation and well Fintan was also the studio that did the California Raisins and I think they even did Moonwalker I have to double check but pretty sure Michael Jackson's Moonwalker was done by Will Vinton studio I've been collecting noid stuff for a long time and this is just a small portion of my collection these are the guys that made the cut why because I feel like I have a bigger connection with these guys maybe I don't know it's so weird I love advertising characters I love the rambunctiousness of the noid the noid basically was Domino's enemy because he couldn't destroy Domino's Pizza he could destroy other pizza he could do a lot of stuff but Domino's Pizza was just too tough for the noid so do you remember the guy's slogan its slogan avoid the noid right there I got it on this nifty keychain in this keychain I don't use all of my keys probably you can see that there's hardly no scratches and if I had it on my keychain they the attendant scratches on it but now I'll love this thing it's awesome so let's get this big guy out of the way cuz it's he's humongous this one's probably one of my favorites if you listen to any of my podcast probably the amazing advertising podcast you'll you've you'll hear a story about this guy this is the noid that my wife always dumped on the floor and I find him on the floor just laying there and I wonder what happened to him and my wife says he just jumped off the caffeine this guy I've done you've so much more stuff with this thing to my wife like I will put him on the couch next to me and I'll just have him sitting there like that and then he'll be behind me and I'll look over when my wife tells me something I'll be like huh what you say and pretend annoyed would talk to me she hates it I love it well my wonderful wife but here is the noid I got this guy from a thrift store many many years ago was a savers and this guy cost me 20 bucks and when I was talking to the lady at the register she was like this young and a 20 year old and she's like $20 for a doll that's like it's not no aid she had no idea what I was talking about so yeah the died he's pretty big as you can tell I love this guy so the noid did a lot of a lot of crazy antics in his commercials but he couldn't destroy the pizza I mean at one point he tried to bomb the pizza here's the bomb character reminds me a lot of Whitely coyote with his Acme bomb this is good when was this made uh really really hard to see ya can't see him so he tried to bomb the pizza he tried to wizard the pizza but it didn't work oops a wizard II tried to jackhammer the pizza love the bug eyes little curls he tried to jackhammer it didn't work and I believe the box opens when he's trying a jackhammer and then he goes wrinkles flying he even tried to box the pizza I'm pretty sure he's got a little boxing get up kind of looks like Iron Mike back in the day guys so I you got another keychain to this guy I had on my keys for a little bit until I realized that he was ready to get ruined so I took them all to keychain and I'm pretty sure this one was also from the commercial I think these both of these were from the commercials this one was when he got so mad like he's about to poop on the beat set but yeah and he was just him looking angry they both he was annoyed this one's cool it's a pretty big one he's got the flexible arms you can make him do stuff his ears are flexible too bendable gonna make him put him in different poses he could even stand up I think he's too top-heavy right now standing I got this guy from a swap meet years ago from the dude who had he had so much annoyed stuff and he told me that he had no idea what happened to the noid like he was a delivery man in I think like 89 somewhere around there it was a delivery man and he said that there was so much annoyed stuff everywhere and then the he comes into work one day the manager tells him hey get rid of all the noid stuff now he had to get rid of all of his stuff but he kept a lot of the figures and this dude had a ton of them and I got this one for a month here's another plush small guy this thing collects so much trash it's not even funny he's even got sawdust on him I had him inside a box that got sawdust all over it and then the game who can forget about yo noid from the 90s I played this game so many times and I've gotten mad at this game so many times it is so hard to play this game but I got it for the Nintendo who doesn't remember blowing into these guys I do we got this watch I don't wear it because it doesn't work but I have taken it off out of here and I tried to put it on how does it look like it fits just like a glove but it doesn't work I try to figure out how I can open it up and replace the battery doesn't look like I can maybe I can pop this thing out and then just do it that way replace the battery can but packaging is pretty cool it's got the noid annoyed watch he's even wearing it's not even wearing annoyed watch from he ate 5 functions Wow from Acme I never noticed that before just the bag gives you instructions how to change everything that's cool alright let's put them back in here [Music] so we got two things left for the car I've never taken him out of here before case has been getting messed up over the years but he's never been out of here never been on my car I should put him on my car but look at this coupon right here good for any pizza one coupon per order expires 12:30 189 I wonder what would happen if I trying to take this in there and say hey guys can I get my one free topping please the place isn't even called Domino's pizza anymore Domino's that's so dumb you should have just kept the Domino's Pizza who cares about the other crap you make and then here we go the fun coat the latest guy to come to my connection my collection you can you can through my nose poster back there dude let's see see you back there minority poster that's awesome so here's the noid the Funko my wife got me this probably two years ago for Christmas and never taken it out of here mm-hmm stays in there with the rest of my Funko guys the noid he's number 17 he was only at Target I don't know I don't know anything about these things I just saw that they did a advertising line and when I first saw these I saw these at a convention probably like 15 10 years ago somewhere around there it was way early on before they caught on and I saw it and I sent them a message saying hey you I should do like advertising characters like the no and I never heard back and then years later I saw these and I said hey those dudes stole my idea they definitely stole it well yeah that's it that's the noid and we all know the noid had a pretty tragic end in 1989 everyone says it was because Kenneth Lamar noid who was a very ill man held up a Domino's Pizza held up to two hostages they made a pizza while he was eating he got away and right after that I'm pretty sure is when the dude that I got the stretchy noid from was told to get rid of
