are funny so I'm sure the comment sections gonna have a field day with that speaking of gaming playing this game on Twitch called outlast 2 and it's funny because it's pretty extreme on the surface but at the same time it's actually a lot like Christianity I'm a videographer in a helicopter with another reporter I guess the chopper crashes down in this forest we're seeking someone and we end up sort of immersed in this cult of Hill billies I mean straight up deliverance style rednecks right and I can say that because I'm from Oklahoma and I am one so you know as I get deeper into this sort of religious commune or whatever they call that it's just czars people walking around and overalls and and they've got no machetes and pitchforks and who knows what else they're gonna pull out of their hats and from what I can tell they worship someone named Knauth I guess it's north KN o th and there are all these other torsos and stuff that are being strung up and and apparently they're using women to breed demons I haven't gotten far enough into the game to find out exactly one that's a horror game so it's not gonna be for everybody but I mean you can see I think I just uploaded the gamer but it's fun to do and it's dark I mean it's totally dark video people are like oh this is just terrible this is just so awful and I'm like well actually uh you know blood sacrifice well that's in the old and the New Testaments torture the kidnapping of women for the purpose of sexual violence that's in the Bible using women to give birth to gods that's in the Bible apocalypse teaching that's in the blood honestly if we're to be free to be serious about this the horror game is actually not nearly as horrific as the actual text of the Old Testament and part of the New Testament and some have been playing that game just occasionally for fun you can see updates I'm trying to post them less and less on the thinking atheist YouTube channel because people just lose their shit they're like I didn't subscribe to this to look at video games and I understand that I can just so I'm posting the moreit's Andrews dotnet I also put up a webpage for a rat dog in Henry at seth andrews dotnet so if you want to go i've got photographs and videos of the kids and just some personal stuff it was a nice little project to do and it gives me an outlet because more and more I'm looking for a break from the standard discussions about atheism and religion atheism and religion atheism and religion I mean it's it's important work but God even I need a break you need a break we all need a break balance right life is balanced as is it Raza Ghul you said life is balance so anyway I just a few days ago released a short video profile a friend and activist Anthony Magna Bosco he's talking about Street epistemology using the Socratic method to go out and engage believers in a way where they won't feel as threatened and will get them to to sort of determine how they came to their belief you've probably heard us talk about se quite a bit and of course that would not be the occasion to use a British insult words like wank puffin probably don't belong in a Street epistemology session anyway the videos out there you can find it on my YouTube channel but just an interesting anecdote I thought I'd share with you I was at the Ark Encounter protests early this month and we were out there and it's a beautiful day and we were protesting this you know 100 million dollar joke this punch line in Williamstown Kentucky so all of a sudden we realized there are some religious people now I don't know if they were sent by King ham or not if they were from the Ark Encounter or not I suspect this guy was I know some were his name was ironically Seth he was standing in a group of people and he was talking about his faith in Jesus Christ and there were three atheists who were engaging him everything was polite everybody was talking and listening in turn and and so I just sat around in the sort of periphery and waited for a natural break in the conversation I didn't want to jump into somebody else's engagement but he was talking about you know his belief in his faith and his belief in his faith it was all tied into Jesus he was obvious a bible-believing literal bible believing christian and so he was asked a few challenging questions and the group and and a natural break in the conversation finally occurred and i jumped in and tried a little Street epistemology on the guy right which was essentially using questions to determine how he arrived at his belief and how he determines what is true and so I think we were talking a little bit about the authorship of Scripture and you know how do you know that the stories about Jesus were true since he was staking his faith upon them who wrote the Gospels and why don't the Gospels agree and you know you got the standard well you know they were written by men and it was like reporting at the time and they are all in agreement with what the reporter perceived at the time bla bla bla but we finally got back into faith and if an Islamist came to you when and said hey look I would like you to accept my deity based on faith would you accept that faith as you've accepted your own and he said no obviously it's a false faith and so we began to get into will if you can't confirm it with evidence how do you know his faith is false and we continued down that trail for just a minute it was a brief encounter and I said is it possible that you are treating your own religious belief with a different set of rules with more deference that you're more forgiving to Christianity than you are with other religions in this world and he looked me in the eye and he said yes that's absolutely possible now at this second at this moment it is so tempting to try to go for the kill but this is the moment when years ago when a discussion like this when I was you know a little more aggressive and certainly more pissed off I would have been like see I got you it would have been a gotcha moment and then they would have doubled down and who knows what would have happened raised voices or somebody would have left no one's mind would have been changed but as is Street epistemology is designed to do the first encounter supposed to be short it's just a toe in the water you're just sort of getting people to engage pleasantly and then you walk away you are done you are not building Rome in a day so when I got him to say yeah it's very possible I'm treating my religious belief with a different set of rules and I'm being more deferential to it because it's my religious faith the minute I got that I just thanked him that's an honest answer and I really do appreciate you and it's so nice to have met you thank you and I reached over and we shook hands and parted ways now I don't know who we spoke to after that I don't know who he engaged I don't know what the result of that conversation is going to be but that is so much better in my opinion in an encounter like this one-on-one with somebody we're just having conversation then here's a shitload of evidence and here's why you're wrong and here's why I'm right and everybody else agrees and we're gonna shout you down and and aren't you an idiot but instead approaching the guy like a human being having a pleasant conversation and saying what if what do you think about this how did you get there you know what that's an honest answer and I appreciate your honesty and I appreciate the opportunity to have a conversation maybe we can talk again and then after they've had a chance to sort of chew on that and your paths cross you continue down the rabbit hole you continue down even further and there's a whole system in place as to house three to piss team ology works and I'll admit it has changed how I approach believers in many instances my own family and friends it doesn't mean that everybody I talked to was immediately walking away from their faith that's not remotely what I'm trying to tell you but I will say that more and more with this method conversations aren't coming to a full stop because I torpedoed it by saying you know this makes no sense or this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard or you're smarter than this or you know saying something that will cause them to go into a defensive posture because we're talking Street epistemology and sort of my own little experience I did want to bring in the telephone he's darling and I think California from the west coast he's Anthony Magna Bosco of Street epistemology komm how you doing brother I'm doing good Seth nice to talk with you again okay so you heard my story check out I work I know I know there's not hard and fast rules I know these are guidelines but I mean if I go in and we have this short form encounter and I get him to admit outright well you know it's possible that I'm I'm using a double standard and I say great have a nice day tell me what you think that sounds like it's a pretty good time to end it you have to consider the environment if there's a big noisy protest going on nearby and there's lots of distractions maybe maybe that is the best time to end it I think I might have been tempted it's hard to say because I wasn't there but perhaps the thing that you did where you're having this conversation and asking questions not debating that's huge a lot of leaves aren't they're not used to encountering that so that in itself I think was probably a memorable experience for him and I think yeah you probably did in the conversation in the right spot I think I may have been tempted to ask him well how is your method different than theirs explain to me how yours is is better but you know not being there it's really kind of tough to say when is the most appropriate time to end it things to look for I suppose is if somebody appears to be really thinking about it and maybe let's say they kind of give the impression that maybe they're getting a little uneasy or uncomfortable but you sort of do want to foster that environment where they do feel a little bit uncomfortable about what you're asking because it's feedback that they're thinking about it but not to the point where they are now embarrassed and they want to get out of there so they can get as far away from you as possible so it's kind of tricky and it's I guess it's one of those things that kind of comes with experience it's like when is the best time to end this talk so I guess a delicate balance right we got to try to allow people to feel uncomfortable at the same time to let them know that we're not their enemy I think that's right I think it's it's finding that balance between making a person feel safe yet comfortably uncomfortable where yes your questions are challenging them but not to the point where they just want to bury their head in the sand and it sounds like you know based on based on what you describes it sounds like your converse Asian kind of went the typical way these Street epistemology talks usually do when you ask questions and give people ample time to explain what they're saying and ask for clarification and perhaps even pause after you ask a great question and they need time to think it through and not stepping on that silence those are all really really good things that you can do to help that person think about their beliefs in a way that they may have never thought about before all right I had somebody on Twitter who chimed in when I released the video profile that we just did together the thing that he said and it was so correct he's like you know when I watch Anthony's videos and the Street epistemology videos I am struck he says by how few people actually really have stopped to reflect on why they believe what they believe and so I was I was going through a lot of the material to prepare the video I had the same thought they would just stop and they would just go well and it seemed to be one of the first times in their life they had really been challenged to try to understand why they believe what they believe that's been your experience that has whether we're talking to an atheist who's sure there's no God or a or a God believer who's sure that there is or some other claim whether it's voting registration or gun control karma being real or my lucky rabbit's foot protects me yes that's that's really largely been my experience - that's so few people take the time to think about the steps they used to get to the conclusion that they're at and it's fascinating how asking a few questions and letting them think it through can shed light on the deficiencies in the method that they've used to get to that conclusion I can think of a guy on the family tree and he was always like when it came to politics well I'm Democrat my daddy voted Democrat my granddaddy voted Democrat and damn it everybody my family needs to vote Democrat I mean you know I'm not really exaggerating this is kind of how he thinks but does he understand why he's voting Democrat or as he just assuming as he inheriting is he just sort of carrying the mantle how much does he really know about what his value system and what does the Democratic Party represents and you know how I vote Democrat but I'm just like isn't it important that we understand why we do what we do why we think what we think so I just wanted to toss that encounter out and you know get your first thoughts and of course it gives me a chance to plug Street epistemology dot-com thanks man I think it's a great tool and I'm optimistic I hope the listeners take the time to look into it because I think that they will find that this is probably one of the best ways to have a more effective you know one-on-one conversation with people who are making these claims and I would love to get to the point where everybody is learning Street epistemology so that they can ask everybody questions about the process they used to get to their conclusions including us Anthony Magna Bosco safe travels home my friend we'll talk soon okay all right Seth you take it easy in relation to the Ark Encounter protests the actual event many people have asked if there's video of the day and the tri-state freethinkers have posted a whole bunch of clips in relation to that day including all the speeches that were given and I have the audio here of the presentation that I gave which I kind of wanted to be my own version of the telling of Noah's Ark takes just a few minutes we were all on stage very briefly but this is what I had to say from Williamstown Kentucky just a few hundred yards from the entrance of Ken hams Ark Encounter and the Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil at the time the Lord regretted that he had made human beings on earth and his heart was deeply troubled that's Genesis chapter 6 my friends how could a God who already knew everything past present and future have regret how could someone who already knew the outcome of every event past present and future in fact be surprised the good book does not say but yay oh yay the Lord was filled with regret in trouble and apparently he was more than a bit pissed astounded that imperfectly created humans would act him perfectly God watched from beyond the earth beyond atmosphere beyond the waters which apparently existed and floated in space before creation the waters in the deep he came to the conclusion that again he apparently should have already concluded it oh it's very confusing justice demanded it my friends justice need a genocide not just the execution of those committing the evil and heinous acts but if the infirmary elderly sitting quietly peacefully in their homes children who hadn't yet reached a point in their lives where they could understand concepts like evil the unborn which by the way made Yahweh the very first abortion doctor animals - they gotta go except for a few specimens from each animal kind and that's for you can him and they would essentially do what the humpback whales did in Star Trek for they would spring into the future to repopulate the species and he Trek fans okay and God thought to himself I won't simply annihilate everybody except Noah and his family - easy I'm going to concoct an elaborate Rube Goldberg mechanism so we instructed the one righteous guy know of at the age of 500 to build the boat of size of a small stadium using only trees and tar he didn't need a hundred million in 21st century construction equipment to do it despite the reality that the townspeople would soon be horribly killed he didn't even need taxpayer support Noah was indeed righteous and the animals came my friends camels and donkeys and hamsters and anacondas and giant pandas and parakeets and velociraptors they all came they were all happy peaceful travelers who walked from their respective homes to board the ark it did take longer for the Penguins and the polar bears but it gave him time as well on the journey to adapt to the 130 degree middle-eastern desert climate the boat was built to God's specific specifications this mini cubits that many cubits use this would use these construction methods and when it was completed Noah and his family boarded the ark and he sealed the door as the rains began to fall they would be the only human saved for apparently suspiciously nobody else on planet earth had a boat for a hundred and fifty days waters the earth which made for some logistical challenges for sure weren't many of these animals carnivorous after the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden wouldn't the cheetah get tired of his vegan diet and look over at the gazelle and lick his chops what about the specific diets required by specific creatures bamboo for the Panda fresh greens for the herbivores meat for the carnivores how did the animals deal with muscle atrophy after so many months in confinement did they ever get cramps I can't even imagine the smell all these beasts essentially existing in the world's largest locker room and allowing they had plenty of food how did eight people shovel thousands of tons of animal waste out of a stadium sized boat with only one window how did they do it outside the window how is ocean life surviving the fresh rain waters mixing with the salt ocean water to make a brackish mixture toxic to both the fresh and the ocean water animals did the Sharks and the trout and the pufferfish and the Marlins just hold their watery breath for over a year why would God have Noah send out doves to find land when God and Noah had been on speaking terms only a few verses before remember God was telling him executives and construction methods and now he has Noah sending a dove out to do recon to find land and since the ark has no motor no sail and no rudder it would have made absolutely no difference they could have been 30 feet from land and they would have simply helplessly drifted right on by when the boat finally did dock wouldn't everybody eat the animals and plants had already been killed in the flood destroyed I didn't see anything in Genesis about Noah and manna know these details are not important my friends what is important is that Noah and his family then repopulated the earth over 5000 ethnic groups in about 4,000 years and then Noah the one righteous man worth saving spent the latter part of his life naked and drunk and his story would be documented in an anonymously written book and in modern times would be memorialized by Ken Ham who somehow sold the state of Kentucky on the construction of a 100 million dollar paperweight it would be a monument my friends to both the church and the state that sound you hear being our founding fathers and the authors of the constitution rolling in their graves Lord Bevan would smile approvingly from this mansion chamber and Yahweh still surprised that his genocidal flood didn't really solve the problem of human imperfection that ended up totally sucking for Jesus who as God would then have to impregnate a teenager with himself for yet another biblical death I am here today my friends because I was indoctrinated with the actual verses of this story I was taught warned I was told every freaking day that I was born broken and I needed to be fixed I was trained to distrust science and scientist I protected my own religious belief while working to deny the beliefs and opinions of others like Ken hams Ark Encounter I was a monument to bad information bad thinking bad ideas and now that I am free of all that nonsense I am here because I think Kentucky I think my country and humanity deserves so much more so much better than the awful fairy tale of global genocide the claim that you and I deserved it and the misuse of taxpayer money to sell lies to children Ken Ham the evidence is in it is overwhelming you built a monument to an event that never happened promoting a religion long debunked selling a lie that more and more people every minute of every day are rejecting we are here you and I are here today to remind people that it is nonsense that nobody needs an ark and that the real world story of humanism and humanity remains the one worth telling thank you all so very much anyway that was my take on Noah's Ark there were some news cameras out there and I was just praying they would shoot some of that which I don't think they actually did but you know be nice to see mainstream young earth Christianity Bible literalist Christianity here some of these challenges and questions I also have video online in relation to Noah's Ark it's called Noah's Ark God giraffes and genocide if you ever want to show that to one of your book of Genesis believing friends might be interesting to get there response what else has been going on in the news I was following last week with great interest the story of this Egyptian sarcophagus that was discovered oh what a great story as they you know dig down went into what looks like layers about layers about layers of rock and you see this this granite sarcophagus this old Egyptian tomb sealed up what might be inside and I was like well hell yeah open it and Natalie was like no no leave it like let him be you know it wasn't like she was thinking no will unleash a curse or anything like that but you and I've seen enough movies we probably had the thought I've I've seen the movie where they break the seal and you hear the screams from the spirit world and the bones of a pharaoh come up and you know before you know it those who have disturbed this resting place find themselves experiencing the worst of calamity and that would have been great fun but as rationalists were pretty sure we can be pretty reasonable that's not gonna happen but I was curious as to what's in here like what is inside is it a pharaoh is it a queen is it you know some is that someone of great importance are there treasures inside and with every piece of treasure comes another piece of the puzzle of our history those types of things so last week they go ahead and crack the thing open and essentially what they found inside the sarcophagus I mean if you look at the photograph it just looks like old skeleton soup is what it looks like there's some liquid brown liquid and just bones and rotted skulls they say it's just skeletons and sewer water what an anticlimax I mean imagine if they'd had like an Indiana Jones like a Raiders of the Lost Ark moment you know they crack it open and all of a sudden like when they open the Ark of the Covenant you see something the pressure changes their smoke and steam and spirit Clow shooting out of the seams and you hear this word in the background and before you know it you know all three of them experienced an Egyptian curse I mean that's a news story actually you know just as a gag I thought it'd be funny to you know put something just very quick together you know what if right when they crack the seal open it might be something Hollywood asked you know something like this entombed in the bowels of the world imprisoned for 5000 years they have been waiting for a scientist dumb shit to dig him up now the seal has been broken the evil has been unleashed and three soggy sewer stinking skeletons will rise again that kind of thing is what I was thinking that would have been amazing that would have been a much more remarkable than sewage and skulls it wasn't a king by the way wasn't a queen when the Pharaoh wasn't a leader wasn't anyone of great importance it was Joseph Manning he is a professor of ancient history at the Yale University he said there's no inscription which is strange somebody important would not have been buried in this way he says it looks like and these are his words a non-elite burial and it's possible that the sarcophagus was used more than one time so I the skulls inside the skeletons inside are actually dated to a more recent date than the granite sarcophagus itself well how does that work you know you bury somebody and then they're there for I don't know 500 years and what you just need the sarcophagus you run out of materials hey you know what Bob's not you know he's been dead for five hundred years he's not gonna care look here's the shovel go dig him up I will just toss his bones back here in the back you know the dog will love it they'd keep the dog from chewing on the furniture the dog can go chew on Bob for a while that'll be something to distract him you know while we're off at work doing our thing building our pyramids and what-have-you and then then you go ahead just wash it out spray out the sarcophagus you know use some kaboom on it or something because it's gonna smell and then we're gonna Ribery three other people not one three people and we'll Ribery it four or five thousand years or whatever until it is discovered in the 21st century I mean I get it you know when the Egyptians put these things in the ground or in the in the tombs or wherever they put them they likely did not expect them to be uninsured right they were thinking yeah this is permanent but I really do think you know put something in there for those who might stumble upon it in the future generations at least like stick a stone tablet in there bearing the words Klaatu Barada nikto or something at least give us something to play with whenever we crack that thing open so I mean it's still interesting though and the researchers are gonna go through and continue to test and find out who these people were and I mean it remains an interesting story it's you know certainly it's something they're going to learn more and more about as you know the days and months progress and I'd be interested to find out kind of what they discover I mean what if these guys were executed let's say they publicly said something but what if they found like a popular politician and you know publicly had called them something some British insult like a a nob headed ninny that's got to be a surefire ticket to the old granite overcoat I'm just saying I'm sure there were Egyptian words for ninny and those types of things I saw this story on CNN last week in a nation that has 300 million plus firearms already in what about a week Americans will legally be able to download 3d printed guns CNN's article on it said there was a recent settlement that ended a multi-year legal battle that started when Cody Wilson who describes himself as a post left anarchist posted plans for a 3d printed handgun that he called The Liberator in 2013 single-shot pistol made almost entirely out of ABS plastic the same stuff they make Legos out of couple of metal parts in there the US State Department said that he and his nonprofit group defense distributed had to take down the plans and he eventually did so but only after it had already been downloaded like a million times he sued the government they just settled the case and apparently he is now allowed to repost these plans for a 3d printed pistol for anyone anywhere to have access to this is like the subversion of gun laws incarnate is it not the organization Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence is trying to get documents and emails related to the settlement to find out just how political this thing is but I mean just imagine know anybody almost anybody anywhere with the 3d printer can now print a firearm and you know now we're now we're way past the gun show argument now we're way past the the serial number and you know ballistics at all these types of things that people use to determine who fired what helped once you're done using the gun will you just throw it in a fire and melt the damn thing you're toss it in a burning trash barrel and it's gone forever ah this is gonna be a wild ride and I have no idea what the future is going to hold how does one regulate that how do you transformed wife dot-com this hosted and this article written by a woman named Lori Alexander she is a Christian her website starts with the scripture out of Romans 12:2 and do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind bla bla bla bla bla Lori Alexander just posted this article which we a theist have just been lapping up and sharing it sometimes the best thing you can do with horrible ideas is to put the spotlight upon them is to reveal what these people are actually claiming the blog dated July the 16th Lori Alexander her blog titled men prefer debt-free virgins without tattoos okay alright let me read this to you now read the whole it's not that long here we go and there's like a photograph of an attractive person I don't know if that's her or not who's smiling and it has that caption men preferred debt-free virgins without tattoos the blog itself says do you know how much more attractive debt-free virgins without tattoos are two young men unfortunately there are so few of these types of young women anymore because of the high cost of college and sexual promiscuity even within those in the church as believers in Jesus Christ we need to live in a way that's pleasing to him because his ways are the best he calls debt a burden and urges us to live lives of sexual purity there are many more reasons why Christian young women should carefully consider whether or not they go to college especially if they want to be wives and mothers someday secular universities teach against the God of the Bible in his ways it's far from what God calls women to be and do it teaches them to be independent loud and immodest instead of having meek and quiet spirits I thought the article was a Poe at this point by the way I literally thought to myself this is just a Poe right this is the onion or some did the Babylon be no no Laurie Alexander's article continues and it says in a grammatically nightmarish sentence it says one woman wrote me some more reasons that she's thought of why women shouldn't go to college that sentence actually is a good argument for college quote men don't want to marry a woman with debts most of this debt comes from college they would also prefer a woman who still lives at her parents house that has not had other relationships wait like any other relationships like no dating of any kind like you are completely foreign to the rituals of courtship and social interactions never the article continues if they go to college they are unlikely to stay home raising their children to pay off the debt and use the degree they spent years on the husband will need to take years teaching his wife the correct way to act think and live since college taught them every possible way that is wrong and Laurie Alexander chimes in in parentheses and says sadly most young Christian women wouldn't listen to their husbands since they've not been taught to live in submission to their husbands however it's the older women who were called to teach the younger women biblical womanhood oh god I can't even finish the paragraph the next sentence says they will start having babies later in life that is if they can conceive naturally they lost a handful of years of experience learning to cook meals and learning how to work in the garden what century is this what century is this college kid the article college kids don't cook if they do it's typically for themselves well who else would they be cooking for your posts sound crazy to anyone who does not believe the Bible is true most girls haven't read the Bible with their father or husband to explain it to them first Corinthians 14 thirty-five oh my god I'm not able to recall that verse hang on just like first Corinthians 14 35 it's to see exactly what scripture she is referring to if they women want to inquire about something they should ask their own husbands at home for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church okay so that actually is a tag off of verse 34 which we all know women should remain silent in the churches they're not allowed to speak but they must be in submission and Lori Alexander and her contributor to this article apparently love this verse Lori Alexander's final sentence in the blog says this and I am NOT making this up word-for-word it says stay virgins until marriage out of debt and don't get tattoos I thought the whole thing was just fake the transformed wife dot-com is real hey wait a minute here's some other recent posts let me just read some of the titles stop enticing men Christo feminism expanding in the church has God called women to be independent oh look there's categories you can look up everything from financial advice to child raising to feminism to breakfast recipes at the transformed wife dot-com I have some people asked me and people who don't have a background in fundamentalism they'll ask me if it's real like are there institutions are their cultures mainstream Christian cultures and churches where they really don't encourage women to go out and participate in the world and get an education and and be ambitious about what they want their hopes and dreams do they really want to keep them barefoot and pregnant and essentially little baby factories that have dinner ready for their husbands whenever they decide to get home from a long hard day at the office oh come on that doesn't happen in the 21st century and I'm like oh yes it does it's less and less frequent but it's still out there and correct me if I'm wrong that the Southern Baptist Convention still has restriction on women teaching or being a pastor in a church and remember that all of Christianity is embracing a Bible that essentially mutes the voices of half of the population because they do not have a penis because they were created to serve to be submissive to essentially just sort of pop little kids out like Pez to repopulate the earth and the name of Jesus bunch of little quiver full moms that don't know anything about the big bad world they just let their man do all the thinking for them that is still in existence today trust me how do we get out of this nightmare how do we keep this weird proliferation of and celebration of these horrible oppressive ideas that are touted as liberation right this is essentially Orwell's 1984 slavery is freedom slavery is freedom the more of a slave I am the more submissive I am the more I am under the control or authority of another allowing them to do all of the heavy lifting the more free I am because I'm serving the purpose that I was created for it's 1984 I discovered this week that apparently I am not given the same protection by my Constitution as American Christians are the Huffington Post the articles actually posted last year but doubt here in this country it's changed all that much a scary number of Americans don't think Muslims or atheists have constitutional rights oh that's nice nearly a quarter of Americans 22% either don't know or don't believe that US Muslims are granted the same constitutional protections as other citizens roughly 20% one in five don't know or don't think atheists are protected under the Constitution these are among the findings of a new study by the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg Public Policy Center I guess I should consider it a plus that the respondents at least acknowledged atheists and Muslims as human beings see no to step in the right direction alright one more crazy story I want to throw out here real fast and this is a little bit of a shorter broadcast but yeah I just had to share this story it was posted by Hemant Mehta of the Friendly Atheist I hadn't seen it in any of the mainstream news stories but it's there's video and you can watch it Jenny McCarthy's long been on our radar right because she's just this champion this poster child for anti science I guess she has a child with autism and she made a connection that vaccines where the cause or may have been the cause and so she is one of the most influential figures behind the anti science of the anti-vaxxers and she has you know she has a lot of she bears a lot of responsibility rather for for the anti science that she has used her celebrity to promote it's really tragic but you know as a result also Jenny McCarthy has become a tremendous punch line out there in the scientific ether well I guess she claimed that her house was haunted by a ghost and she had security cams on the inside of her house and she posted the footage to prove her house was haunted she posted security footage and the caption just said in all caps haunted just happened in my house I had to look at the security tape to prove it ah exclamation points okay well as somebody who's been working on the ghost stories audio book for release in late September I mean ghosts are kind of my thing even now in the heat of the summer I'd like to hear about this so I watched the video and then I saw the comments and here's what happened the clip starts to roll and you hear a piano start to play alright a piano starts to play the sounds of piano keys and Jenny McCarthy just loses her mind okay and so she says to her husband Donnie Wahlberg she's like hey Donnie Donnie somebody just played the if somebody just played the piano and he's like what somebody just played the piano and she's like I don't know who did it I don't know I don't know somebody played it and they just had a shit fit well she posts the security footage online and thank you Internet hundreds if not thousands of people chime in and inform Jenny McCarthy that that piano sound is actually the sound made when Google home boots up it's just beautiful it's just beautiful so she heard she heard Google home and the little tones and she immediately decided that these were visitors from the spirit plane who came not with a message about this life or the afterlife but instead felt the urge to tickle the ivories okay and to my knowledge there's not a retraction or explanation of any kind Hemant Mehta said as much he said she hasn't seen anything and neither have I but it's beautiful and Hemant Mehta says this is the McCarthy problem number one she doesn't understand something too she jumps to the dumbest possible conclusion three evidence is presented to show she is wrong and four there is no apology or admission that she was wrong at least not yet but it's beautiful it's beautiful I've been thinking about doing Google home or Alexa is that the Amazon one where you just go hey Google and or okay Google do this or Alexa do that I've know some people who've integrated this stuff into their homes in their lives I guess they can turn lights on and they can control different things in their house be it alarm systems at garage doors or they can play certain music or podcast or they can get the weather or search for news items and they can just do it vocally by saying Alexa or whatever now I haven't done this my friend Corey has Alexa in his house and it's funny because whenever he is sitting at home and I asked him about it he can't say her name because she will then activate and then go search something else so I said hey do you like that do you like Alexa and he's like well you know who is really convenient for this and you know who doesn't do this well and so we couldn't even say Alexa because I guess she goes yes or can I help you or whatever Alexis says but do you have this have you integrated these technologies into your own house I'm not opposed to it at all I love the idea of you know being in a room and saying hey lower the lights 30% that's very Star Trek to me Alexa what's the weather gonna be or okay Google play me something from journeys frontiers album you know I mean that'd be kind of cool I think and I realized that we're a culture spoiled by technology but if we can use technology to our advantage I don't have to stop and go type it in but I can say okay Google find Evil Dead - Dead by Dawn on television I mean just does that work that does it do that I mean if I could do that immediately and not have to go through and scroll and do all those types of things Alexa called you know this Mexican restaurant and then I can order something that has no guacamole on it right but I don't have to actually go and pick up the phone it does it all right there on the speaker do you have this integrated in your life do you like it is it a pain is it oversold is it just a bunch of hype is it creepy I mean you tell me you know how much time that would have saved me like if I was trying to figure out what all these British insults meant Alexa what is a tosser Alexa please define gormless ming er okay Google what is a Burke a Burke BER kay what's a Burke Alexa what is a Minj bag how much time would this technology have saved me my friends in the comments section or whatever just sound off and tell me whether or not you recommend these types of technologies and then somebody go to Jenny McCarthy's Facebook or Twitter feed and a again inform her that she is not being visited by the other world okay not being visited by somebody in the spirit plane came down here to tinkle on the ivories or tickle not tinkle yet tickle the ivories big difference there big difference my friends I sure appreciate you it's always a pleasure to
