[Music] alright time once again for the TMS couch Ella concert series where we are bringing you one-of-a-kind performances from your favorite artists right to your living room that's right today's headliner melted hearts as Patrick on shits Creek with his chart-topping rendition of Tina Turner simply the best but now he's winning fans all over again with his own album of original songs called Gemini and he joins us now from his home in Toronto it was so good to see you okay gotta ask you gotta ask you as restrictions start to ease across the country what are you most looking forward to doing again I mean you know as you can probably tell just by looking at me at haircuts gonna be an order pretty quickly here but you know seeing seeing some people that I haven't really been able to see feeling like there's some easing up and and and like we can you know be out in the world again a little bit you know it's a strange thing because you just you're always thinking about safety now in a different way you know I feel like I am anyway so it's it's true it's weird so true alright well speaking of seeing people this is the first time we're seeing you since the finale of shits Creek aired and I think everybody in the cast managed to do kind of the impossible you made a finale that pretty much everybody was happy with were you guys nervous just before the finale came out oh of course I mean I think anytime that something like that is happening a big sort of momentous moment or a conclusion of a show that has come to mean so much to so many people it's you want to get it right but I think that you know Dan and and Eugene and all the writers and everybody was just on the same page and we were all able to feel like you know we were headed towards the right kind of conclusion and we all got to watch it on Zoom together I think you know originally we had events planned we were gonna all you know be together in a big theatre and obvious that was impossible so instead we just watched it on Zoom together and sort of muted each other while that while the show was on and got together for commercial breaks and it was pretty weird but pretty fun speaking of moments you guys also got to record a send-off song for graduates of 2020 I love this so much would the whole cast and I don't know a person by the name of Mariah Carey okay know what you realize you've now officially so I'm gonna do wet with Mariah that is so awesome yeah yeah it was that was something that sort of just it came together very last minute but it was it was such an incredible opportunity to be a part of a moment like that for the class of 2020 who obviously have been you know not really able to graduate in a normal way and and certainly to be in the company of all the incredible artists that that pitched in on that day that was pretty special and for Mariah I mean I don't forget you know they spent many hours on the telephone together and and I think that was kind of a surreal experience for him but I wish we'd gotten to sing it at first but but I guess this will have to do for now for now it looks good it looks good on the resume it looks really good on the resume alright I know it is a pride month of course and a billboard of you and Dan has really made a huge impact because the two of you are kissing on it in fact couples have started going to this billboard now and taking their photo underneath it what does it mean to you that to Billboard to be a part of that and you know something that has come to mean so much to so many I think that the this campaign that advertising campaign was very deliberate and and and you know it was something that I know that was meaningful to Dan it was meaningful to all of us on the show and to be a part of moment like that that means so much to the LGBT community and when this is when Dan and I went to look at this on on Sunset Boulevard I was just I would so clone away I had goosebumps to see that represented that way so large-scale not not hiding just sharing the love I think you know it really speaks for itself and it and it you know it speaks to what that relationship has come to mean for so many people and what it what it represents so I'm just thrilled to be a part of it very proud all right you have shot to socially distance videos music videos so I don't know sometimes I think the restrictions are getting people are making people more creative how did you come up the cut for that with the concept forgot you well something that my partner Claire and her sister Julia when we were when things were normal and we could have parties they would often like come up with these little line dances and and get everybody involved and so I thought it would be kind of a fun thing to attach them with coming up with a fund where people dance that the people could do it and just you know drive around maybe see what with director just growing around and our community community and just found it can be a lovely distraction during Kovach you know to get out and move your body find a place that would be safe to shoot you know make something happen well let's keep up with that
