no one has a story like jaylen Hertz you know it's unprecedented to have a guy that won as many games as he won I think 26 or something over a two-year period started as a freshman only lose a couple games it's old-time that he was a starter and then all of a sudden he's not the quarterback and how do you manage that how do you handle that you got to have a tremendous amount of character in class to put the team first knowing that your situation is not what it used to be and for a guy that's a great competitor you know that that's that's that takes a lot nothing about 2018 was easy for jaylen it all started when two Otunga by llola replaced him in the second half of the national championship not only was jaylen pushed to the sidelines on that night but the rest of the year jaylen felt like the football program was leaving him hanging no one asks me how I feel no one asked me what was on my mind only asked me know how I felt about the things that were going on nobody asked me what my future and I inhaled and that's that so now it's like when we trying time to handle the situation now it's for me it's kind of late it's too late already been created and this new narrative was even hard for Nick Saban to finally share that Toa would be this year starter Jalen had the option to transfer this season but decided to split time playing with twoa a decision that was not easy to make he deserves the play he's a good player and you know there may be a time in the future where you know he becomes the guy if something happens and that moment came when tua went down with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of the SEC Championship with the game tied at 28 with five minutes to go this was Jalen's moment [Music] I think that just speaks volumes about you know the fact that jaylen still comes in to work every single day trying to improve as a player tries to be the best version of himself and all the hard work paid off tonight three national championship appearances two SEC championship wins and earning the title of SEC Offensive Player of the Year as a true freshman his success at Alabama is only the beginning for what lies ahead of him in his new chapter at Oklahoma whoever said my story's over that's something that people said it not me who said it was a story's still unfolding so I just have to see what's up nation
