this no country oh man where do I go I was Sheriff of this County when I was 25 years old oh yeah what drift perfectly balanced grandfather was a law man father too told me he'd been planning to kill somebody for about as long as he could remember said if they turned him out he'd do it again said he knew he was going to hell be there in about 15 minutes I don't know what to make of that I surely don't I love that narration over the just the landscape it's hard to even take its measure that's a haircut but I don't want to push my chips forward and go out and meet something I don't understand what the what was this guy doing is it like a welding torch thing yes sir I just was it Like Oxygen was an oxygen he had on couldn't tell oxygen tank for osma or something osma hose that run down his sleep oh you can look at it when you get in this guy's going to kill you yes sir I got it under control the hell was he doing like an injection knife did you just you got this guy just handcuffed him and left him there jeez look at this guy's face I know dude it's so intense I knew it I wouldn't have trust that haircut I know oh God oh God dude oh God that was a long fight dude yeah that's why you got to let go earlier pretend you're dead and they let go then you get him yeah damn the the violence in this movie is intense and it's very realistic look at all those the floor scrapes from his heels yeah that's gruesome the only thing I can think of why he had it running down his sleeve is he had like a knife attached to it and stab somebody and then you inject them with air and it causes like massive cavitation oh my gosh that's what it is I didn't recognize it it's a captive bolt gun the hell use it for like slaughtering animals oh it's broing right yeah yes sir well damn is that who was talking in the beginning no okay man I was confused I was like I thought it was Tom Lee Jones the reference I made was oh dude I love the lag time Roland when he was pretending to be Tom Le Jones younger yeah how know name I tricked myself then he's said Thanos and I was like I was [Laughter] wrong you got get that your mustache like that somehow well I need it to grow yeah you have some Miracle Grow I don't can I take like can I get some of that CU stuff and rub it on my mustache maybe huh that's not a gazelle or whatever he shot do is a good actor why is it limping hurt there a lot of the same truck just a different color well it's Texas right yep like all those trucks look the same they can only make one model they reskin it Aaron it's like a it's a this is a very realistic CG movie okay that truck that was loud yesterday yeah what the hell happened here there's dogs dead and people dead well dog got shot cuz it it crossed the trail of the a ues gang or drug I would say like probably drug or Gang Related Texas they say Texas okay made like a cartel drug yeah dealing thing oh like someone won they might still be here maybe they didn't maybe the dog won he leaving guys a here ready to shoot and just shoot you soon you open it right ah see oh oh no you got shot ho holy that's a lot of drugs yeah just walking through nothing yep no water with no water no shade no food I guess he must have been here for a long time seem's pretty experienced oh he took the money huh someone else kill him and take stuff or just m I think I think he just bled out money money $10,000 each one plus whatever's underneath yeah yeah I love that yeah dang 60,000 plus however deep it goes yeah those are like half half inch stacks probably we'll just assume 500,000 I was going to say more than that I was going to say more like 2 million 2 million I would guess I don't know BR makes really interesting choices here I just like when he sees the money like yeah all right it feels like my grandfather Yeah Yeah he so that's his name Len yeah what are you doing baby how is this connected to the guy who killed the cop like we just switched stories we did have a theory it's all happened in the country but there shouldn't be one or is he old is he not old he's dead isn't he maggot oh yeah I wouldn't have came back yeah no they cutting the tires yep yeah I'd have been like H he's dead by now I'd run up by Hill follow a dog well if you Skyline they might spot you you know stay low don't think you're a bush Spider-Man crawl all the way up and the longer he waits the where's it going to be see everything with him is so shadowy yeah dude the lighting in this movie is nuts oh they're going to shoot you dog's coming for you and dogs don't swim fastest they don't swim fast right no they run quick uhhuh they don't swim very fast they're going to get tired in the water too I think I'd rather fight a dog in the water than on land than a man no and then on land yeah oh yeah 100% I'd rather fight a dog in the water than a man in the water yeah yeah oh jeez this is my wife's Father's Place originally you mared into it we lived in Temple Texas for many years raised a family there in Temple we come out here about 4 years ago you married didn't that that's the way you won't put it I don't have some way to put it that's the way it is call it call it yes for what just call it you going kill him if you get it wrong H well done don't put it in your pocket sir don't put it in your pocket it's your like a water where you want me to put it anywhere not in your pocket what good mix thing with the others and becomeing just a going which it is I'm assuming he was like two facing him I guess you know what I mean he looks like John mlan yeah right yeah at what point would you quit bother to look for your $2 million you go I said at least 500 I said 2 million he just struck uhhuh he's just like an assassin that's a dead dog yes it is I love that it's a dead dog yes it is a't anything on this not a bleep all right what is it looks like a like a Tracker receiver thing radio receiver damn who were those guys not important I thought it was a carar it is a carar wend said there's something in the back there he is where's how's he tying to this he said he was the sheriff oh am is that who the one dude called that got choked out and died that was the car that he drove here after bolt gunning that guy and then drove the truck two guys right yeah it's a mess ain't it Sheriff if it ain't it'll do till the mess gets here H that's a way to put it yeah it's not a mess now it will be mhm about Tommy Lee Jones where like I don't even consider him acting he just stff I get to watch he's just saying the words that people tell him to she better have [Music] left it's pretty versa weapon sure also kill him someone with that like like the guy who shot him it's like you don't have anything to track yeah you don't have connect to a gun you don't have ballistics on it no calibers or nothing that you can match it with yeah no GSR nothing this is you Eric I know want to go waste or around us a gun you know yeah it's going to go bad damn I love milk not even drink it shall return did he take the money I wasn't sure if he was leaving it with her at first I think he left it with her he left it with her I think he's pretty observant yeah he's really observant why do we circulate looking for a man who has recently drunk milk he'll be looking for me a sh that's aggravating I'm here of you there he got any notion in the sorts of sons of that are hunting him I don't know he ought to no that's the money case right yeah some cheap makes sense cuz he need to buy a car so figured he would have just taken a couple stacks that'd be plenty for back then you pick the option goes with the applicable rate love how practical Everything feels put it up there and push it around the corner I guess yeah push it back here slide it back so that you don't look in and see it initially but the Rope won't be super visible right how often are people going to look back there you know sure like you'd see it being blocked you know I love the way they use light in this it's it's nuts very dark so Stark like a lot of the location work is so precise in terms of time to day mhm hello oh yeah walk back home in his bare feet oh God ah it's got to sting yeah there's something about the lack of reaction from the characters that like make my reactions more I don't know should have been closed right how you left him just called it square look you're already in a jackpot and I'm trying to get you out of take me to another motel who found him well the there was a cartel truck there yeah they parked down at the end and then walked up missed why he just has a thing for killing stuff huh she just likes killing well you give me the model number on the 10 I can order you the poles never mind I want a t oh what kind a t kind with most poles the kind with the most po oh my gosh what's he going do with the poles beep just makes some more terrifying yeah think a little bit time think he gets closer to murder free HBO which room did he get 137 next door jeez it's a hell of a suppressor can I love that quiet like I know slowly bleeding air oh man oh man that guy a long God turn the lights on off and be quiet I love that he checked another room to see what the hiding spots were like oh no I'm not kept the blood off of him that's gruesome yeah the noise of that shotgun he's great sound design the ropes oh no he must have got got it then and got out you know Anton shur by sight is that correct yes sure I know him everywh he seem pretty sure of the day hey St huh mustache threw me off it would yeah that's such a great shot I don't know why I was waiting for him to be in there already like in that window just see the helmet hair yeah I how he beat him here Guy sensei hair yeah just a no way right unless I drove like hours and hours away or something in like in random directions yeah I don't know like I well you got to think like how did they find that hotel yeah there's no way that they found me without some other kind of thing I think one of the first things that I would have done it's switch switch cases cases cuz that's recognizable they know what that looks like I would have taped it to my body like a like a [Music] bomb that's so silly but I get you we a duster just like a pillow man around my legs around my chest everything you know uh that's a dollar it's a fake stack they cut the ones open to put the transmitter in rather than cutting hundreds all right put it on someone else no his mustache doesn't fully connect here either I could do that you could do it D just grow it thick grow it to the sides I've just been trimming down here lately yeah honestly let it let it grow over your lip and then push it to the side use a Steven root one he just had have it come down I could do that one maybe that one pretty sweet I think you would look good with that I don't think Mel like it she said this been grown on her though I been grown on me grow n she's gotten used to it before she's like this weird I don't like it I'll do enough hours of the play makes sense oh no front desk gu is gone better move to the side of that door right right or left either the one that thing's going to explode the Lock's going to shoot to the opposite wall you know oh you hear the beeping oh God it's so tense shoot now taking the lights out so you can't see y hate this guy man he's so good should have shot way he had the chance mhm that lock going to hit you in the face I hurt so [Music] bad oh damn oh no don't break your ankle is that guy dead is that we yep he come from that way too yeah well he saw him run that way I can't see around the corner anymore this third person view doesn't work for me that so good I know dude is it someone else it's not him again is it I want a duck dead yeah yeah I understand it's not easy to drive like that no especially not while somebody else's legs are in the way yeah and you're being shot at he's not hurrying well he's leaking everywhere I would even to shut the [Music] door don't wasting your shots oh he got caught too yeah looks like into the Shadows they're both good trackers that's so icky a it's too real you take off into Mexico yep yeah why are they just stand there singing to him you never been to Mexico is this happen what he falls on the street they just stare at you and S ER have you ever been to Mexico yeah they're B it's going like blow up the car make a [Music] distraction I think he's going to blow the car yeah I guess so well if you need a distraction mhm this guy likes to blow up cars and burn them yes he does and your boot would all be full of water I mean not water water I mean it is mostly water but no not all this water in my boot that's a lot of blood there's a water in my boot can't even take his pants off got to oh my god oh bleeding a lot that's a lot you think the bullets in there still well it don't look good if it is it does not look good and these guys could both die I know jeez wound water oh no got good this is this has to happen yeah right in the right in the wound you need to you need you got you got to kill the pain another angle I can't see as well the other side okay go no tweezers oh no yeah he's pulling all the cloth and everything out that game I'm playing right now too every time you got to heal you got to use a health injector shove it in your neck I close my eyes every time I use it but I get attacked while I use it too it's terrible switch. TV like blind wave what that for they flick it squir it don't show it ow so glad I'm deaf instead over here why do death help you cuz I'm on the right hit him no no Calvin pass it on no it's not fair the bucket's here hell yeah buddy there's no way these are the drugs is it may they the bodies yeah could be bodies that looks like bodies to me you get your ass out of here okay yeah I thought like there was Happ I thought it was more bodies from like the motel or some I'm guessing this isn't a fure well damn how' he find you he's very good maybe he's the one who needs to be worried about me May he isn't you're not cut out for this you're just a guy who happen to find those Vehicles oh no I was just thinking I'm like man what if they finds him and kills him you don't have to do this I'm a day trader I could just go home you're good make it worth your while take you to an ATM there's 14 Grand in it and everybody just walks away an ATM you going to have the money Anton so loud yeah it was that was a [Music] crazy man woody did not do a lot in this movie course some Welles there not in the sense that you mean you need to come see me do you know where I'm going yeah I know where you're going all right you know she won't be there it doesn't make any difference where Shee I won't tell you you can save yourself because you can't yeah I'm going to bring you something all right decided to make you a special project of mine you ain't going to have to come look for me at all here last week they found this couple out in California they rent out rooms to old people kill them bury them in the yard cash the Social Security checks they torture them first I don't know why maybe the television set was broke and this went on until here I quote neighbors were alerted when a man ran from the premises wearing only a dog collar geez can't make up such a thing as that how dare you to even try but that's what it took you notice get somebody's attention digging graves in the backyard didn't bring any I got an Overcoat on are you jacking with me oh no sir don't jack with me yes you in the service uh no sir I'm a veteran now uh yes sir two tours what outfit 12th infantry battalion uh August 7th 1966 July 2nd 19 1968 Wilson yes sir get someone to help this man needs to get into town well that worked out yep I got an Overcoat how those Larry's holding up uh oh good good I need everything else you a little of people come in here without any clothes on no sir it's unusual did he still have money I would say so yeah now he does don't want yes she does put her on you're hurt ain't you might you say that I can hear it in your voice what am I supposed to do with Mother no she'll be all right she'll be all right [Music] right ain't nobody don't bother her it's not funny but it is I know oh my gosh be all right I got the cancer I love how she's she's listening on the other line M well she's listen yeah she's listening somewhere you coming to kill Steven root Why Oh shot him in the neck kill that guy too this guy's busy oh my God you going to shoot me that depends we got to do a coin flip do you see me what no I what why did Steven R fall down this guy's crazy if you see him he kills you I got the can look at this just the way she says it she's in the office El Paso Texas stop talking I know in El Paso Texas no ma' that's how many going to El Paso don't ask me why it's not often you see a Mexican in a suit you go Pas I know it where are you staying oh carene how are you why did you bring your mother story about Charlie wall who's Charlie wall uh oh um true story I couldn't swear to every detail but it's certainly true it is a story certainly true it is a story can you give me your word on something yes ma'am if I tell you where Lan's headed you promise it'll be just you who goes and talks with him no keep driving no you're dead what's the problem there neighbor can you get those chicken grates out of the bed what are you talking about just a just a cutaway just tells you that story yeah that's so you keep looking out the window far he what else then just uh looking for what's coming yeah but no one ever sees that bear that's what's coming I'll bring the I chest out here you can stay married no man I I I know what beer leads to Bear leads to more bear find out what's coming what the hell oh my God what the the hell she's dead that the beer Lany damn what died off screen that's bull call the police damn I think that was going to [Music] happen we didn't get to see him die nope I'm guessing they got the money then right probably cuz a mama that's why yep mom why'd you bring her she was scared for her so she was fine no one was coming to get her they knew he was going to come give the money for her but he might come and threaten and kill her yeah and he wouldn't have cared it wouldn't have worked that's what I'm saying it's like ah there's no point getting her he won't cover that you know if You' have told me 20 years ago I'd see children walk in the streets of AR Texas towns with green hair bones in their noses I just flat out wouldn't have belied you signs and wonders but I think once you quit hearing sir and Ma rest is soon to follow well it's a tide it's the Dismal tide it is not the one thing not the one thing none of that explain green hair man that's what's happening yeah I've heard that conversation from old farmer so much yeah he shoots a desk clerk one day walks right back in the next and shoots a retired army colonel it's hard to believe strolls right back into a crime scene now who do such a thing how do you defend against it yeah must have been good trip that time I guess that was the same Hotel wasn't it yeah that's why the stairs I was like man this always look like the place we were in before was mhm he never goes back to a crime scene locks blown out mhm prob your gun you don't have anyone to hide behind this time I swear this guy wins he's not dead by the end of the movie he's arrested that eye man I know fight he didn't get shot already that is crazy Mo what to the little closet room where else would he be he didn't find the money cuz he hit it in the air vent again what where's anti on at well did he go out the window it was unlocked maybe I guess it wasn't unlocked was it that it was I wasn't sure if they were showing me locked or unlocked cuz I don't know what the other one looks like I'm pretty sure it was locked there's a little wedge thing under a hook in back how'd you know it was my truck I deduced it when you walked in you got now how fresh is that coffee yeah I wouldn't I generally make a fresh pot every week even if there's something left over that man that shot you I don't know many people that do that what you got ain't nothing new this country is hard on people you can't stop what's coming ain't all waiting on you I knew this one done with I ain't got the money what little I had is long gone and there's bills of Plenty to pay it I Beed my mother today ain't PID for that neither I wouldn't worry about it you got no cause to hurt me no but I gave my word you gave your word to your husband you don't have to do this people always say the same thing what did they say they say you don't have to do this you don't okay this is the best I can do call it no I ain't going to call it call it the coin don't have no say it's just you I got here the same way that K did man I was looking the other way yeah I'm like oh is he going to get hit so was he it was a green light who is this just an accident yep not on purpose at all you had bone sticking out of your arm all right let me just hit here a minute look at that bone kid drop it it's you can't ignore it I know it's all he said oh hell Mister okay I don't mind helping someone out you didn't see me I was already gone where did my shirt go it's a hot day I had no shirt give me your shirt you still got your damn shirt what it was for maybe but I'm still out of shirt damn it would you think that was a chance I just want someone to catch him TI this guy getting away from everything everyone else dying and killing everybody dreams well you got time for them now anything interesting they always is to the party concerned both had my father and I'm it's peculiar I'm older now than he ever was by 20 years so in sense he's the younger man I was about meeting him in town somewhere give me some money I think I lost it rode past me and kept on going never said nothing going by I just rode on past me had his blanket wrapped around his head down and in the dream I knew that he was going on ahead I knew that whenever I got there he'd be there then I woke up what the going Brothers mhm all right that was New Country for Old Men yeah still alive yep you don't you haven't you haven't got your Justice have you I don't like this movie haven't got your Justice whole movie is ruined Now kill the one guy off screen uhhuh Tom Ley Jones never even found him nope yeah he's quitting he's tired now yeah talking about dreams with horns and uhhuh horns of fire yeah yeah it's a hell of a movie yeah dialogue is great mhm dialogue's great the the location work the Bing editing composition photography lighting especially everything about this movie is like it's a period piece Master Class yeah and you know this is going to sound weird I quite like the violence it feels so real to me it's not it doesn't feel over the top no I it it feels more violent because it's so sudden and all the other shots are paced so calm and slowly and it just lets it lets the calm scenes or the tense scenes breathe and then the violence just sucks your breath away yeah in an instant it's so effective like there's nothing in there that couldn't happen yeah it all feels real everything that they do is practical everything that that can be done to you it feels very real in that regard to me mhm mhm you know even just the nature of getting in a car accident is scary you know but it can be very scary people out there and yeah like I don't know I I love the villain in this like he feels like a real like I would watch this and be scared I would I would watch this and be more scared at night than I would Friday the 13th sure this cuz there's actual people like this yeah yeah and that uh that bolt gun that's a iconic weapon I'm surprised you guys didn't know that about this movie I don't know anything about this movie yeah never seen it I've heard about it yeah stacked cast and know wood harson showed up in it uhuh yeah I was confused when time Le Jones talked in the very beginning I thought and then they showed Josh broland I was like oh well he made the Thanos comment and I guess it was him the whole time and then he did show up later on and mib3 or two or whatever mib3 was Chris right yeah one of my favorite moments it's so dumb but I love the the Sheriff Deputy when they they find that fire he goes we should have brought weenies yeah it's just such a tonal shift in the movie one line where there just this guy is Young and he hasn't gone through what this guy's gone through yet you know he still has this optimism about all what you can do you can you know something good can come of this rather than you put in enough work and then eventually your life's going to be a little easier God's going to take over and things aren't going to be as bad cuz you did a lot of good work that's like Tom you're talking Tom Jones's kind of idea right yeah but he never came yep I just like wendle being almost like that version of Tommy Lee Jones before he saw too much right it's like you on in draw your gun you're going to pull yours I'm hiding behind you yeah yeah and I guess like the characters are I guess to an extent realistic of kind of I guess with the one guy's talking about like I don't agree with the idea like what the hell the world coming to bones and noses and their hair is green The Whole World's chaos and stuff but they're misattributing in the real world I guess there's not like happy endings with all this stuff and there's not like you know the one lady didn't survive cancer she buried her you know and then died I got the cancer cuz the guy show up and the good guy the main character or protagonist or whoever like he didn't make it he died off screen he died off screen when he see it yeah like he's our hero he's going to you know fix the story and then everything's going to be better at the end but he just the Mexicans got him he died yeah some sometimes you just yeah it doesn't work out it's like an anti- story this movie it is I think that's why I don't like it really I'm just like I feel unsatisfied yeah really upset about the guy I kept think Tomy Jones was like he's like yeah and then the nowadays they don't use a hammer they just use this air gun and shoot him in the head and and it's easy and quick mhm what were you rambling about I don't know just talking like I thought he going be like oh hey that's the idea well he didn't do that either I figure it probably got back to him somebody figured out that it wasn't a bullet that killed him but a captive bolt gun and he just had that rattling around in there you know talking about somebody that owns a slaughter house sure but it never seemed like he realized where how that guy died or that that could have been the we I think the idea didn't show it on camera I think the idea is like he like we the audience expect him to make the connection but that doesn't always happen you can you can have something like right in front of you you don't make the connection I don't think you made the connection yeah like I feel unsatisfied exactly I think that's what it wants you to feel sure all right well they did a good job you're crazy guy killed people Woody harelson didn't do anything yeah like there's a few things I'm like I don't think that like I don't think Woody Harrison could have been if he wouldn't have been here it wouldn't nothing else would have been missed really yeah there wasn't a whole lot to it except for adding to like Anton's character I guess was like you talked to him you're not dead that crazy yeah Anton is just like I mean there's what the movie is and what the movie is trying to tell you right like Anton is like the evilness of men and it just can't be stopped really even Ellis in the wheelchair at the end says like you think it's bad now like it's always been bad yeah it's always been bad always happened we just trick ourselves in think it doesn't yeah I don't know who was that guy I think it was just one of his mentors cuz at one point I thought like like he said about your grandpa and stuff like that and I'm like well you can't his dad or anything right but he must have known his Grandpa Uncle like is he a like I talked to Loretta and stuff I'm like is he a family member I'm like maybe he was just like the previous Sheriff yeah and this guy's now the sheriff of he's one of his mentors he talked about how the guy that shot him and put him in that wheelchair got out like how'd you feel about that well not much you know sure yeah no I heard all that but they didn't like I was like what's the relation to him so the only thing I can think of is just like the deputy who woned the wieners mhm like that was Tomy Jones and then this guy was Tomy Jones he was in the past or something he was his ghost of future P of of Future Past pretty much he was this is what you will be cuz he was a sheriff or something that seemed like Christmas future Yeah Christmas future my bad yeah Christmas pass was uh he talks yeah yeah he talks about the one guy dying and everything and bleeding out yeah it just goes with the stories of like bad have happened I things still happen it's not the green hair it's not the bones nope yeah things have always been bad mhm yeah no it's like a force of nature yeah for me it's it's a very unique movie I've never really seen a movie like this before or since and that like it just it's trying to just show you a stark reality that's not the Blockbuster movie you go and forget about two weeks ago like this one sticks with you this one sticks with me yeah yeah Anton sugar sugar sugar I guess someone did call him sugar yeah I see lell yeah Sugar Sugar mhm I one of my favorite movie moments I love when that other truck is just there on the horizon he just looks back and it's there and there's people around his truck it shows us that pointed you know shot twice and and you know he's going in there and there's just no tension at all and then there's not even a there's not a sound there's nothing it just it's there and and it's already too late in a yeah in a frame it's just your stomach drops you know like that Ty type of thing to me is far more scary than like trying to build tension with like strings and you know drips and thunder and stuff there's something about that like you didn't notice you're until it's too late that's really scary to me mhm you st by that truck too long yeah he said they were watching I feel like he should have like gone up the hill like hid somewhere else right just to like at least then they would have known a direction if they're coming if they're coming this way he should run like this way sure just something yeah head head off in a Direction so that at least you can like Walk The Ridge or head somewhere but you waited so long that they saw him running and also I just if I was not going to have water for that guy I would not have gone to bed like I better go get water for that guy yeah sure like he looked dry then bleeding out well L's a he's he's he's the good guy like it's because of that we go like all right he's our hero yeah I guess CU he can't sleep knowing that that guy's dying thirst up there that's also why Carson says like you're you're not cut out for this yeah like he's gonna get you yeah and Carson is like he feels like he's gonna be that anti-hero like okay well this guy he knows what's up he's this is gonna do something it doesn't do anything he didn't fight back against Anton at all just kind of let it happen y I have fought like on the the stairs or something mhm yeah what could you what could you do F before he gets his gun up and I get in a predicament like that I'm fighting for that gun yeah especially if I know who he is if I talk to a guy I'm like wait you talk to him and you're still alive I'm not letting him come to my room Point his gun at me at that point it's too late you know yeah the only person he let live really was a gas station guy I guess maybe maybe the coin that we saw was covered in blood yeah and he also asked him like oh I can come back later I mean I guess he ask like what time do you go to bed where do you sleep you sleep back in that house there how long have you been here he's a he's a man of the people he's a he's he likes I didn't understand did he get hired and then those then he just killed the guys that hired him mhm yeah cuz he he wanted to work alone and they were an inconvenience to him then he killed the other guys cuz he were he was sending other guys yeah the Steven rot had given the Mexicans a transceiver they someone needs to get that money cuz it's implied that it's the government's doing some weird too you know there is no Heroes there's just old Heroes like Tommy Lee Jones that retire and wonder if they really made a difference difference yeah no I I just I love the way the movie plays with your expectations it also like forces you to react when a character is STO or trying to be quiet or just like taking everything in like when you see that bone out of his arm you have this visceral reaction but he doesn't it's the same thing with uh Len like you know his he's in such pain and it's only like our own reactions or even carene his wife like she's like I can hear that you're hurt yeah you know like well he he can't be hurt he's got stuff he's got to do this is a I don't know maybe there's like a certain text or Midwestern feel in there that like I can just like hear these conversations and place them on people in my life you know and it's just a the ego of the protagonist yeah right yeah he thinks like oh I'm you know I can take it mhm I can handle this I'll I'll keep the money and save my wife you know yeah you just doesn't work out for her and then there's just something uh separately just as like as a film that it's just really inspiring that so much of what makes the movie look as good as it does it's just balls of the wall figure out the shot when you're there in the location this guy yeah yeah the photography yeah like there's no you know you're not spending a whole lot of money on that type of thing you're just you're nailing it you're you're waiting every day for this time to get this amount of greatness to match what you shot three weeks ago ago because that was the perfect time you had last no there's a lot of shots in it that are just shadowed like I think uh luell and like there's so much time that you just don't see him like he's just a he's a shadowed figure coming through with like the the light in the background the lightning being chased yeah walking down the Halls like there's just lots of times where it's just it's dark on him lit up back behind him yeah yeah I don't know there's something about him coming and taking out Carla too mhm just because he made a promise like that girl didn't know him didn't have anything to do with any of it really she was just well he she never touched them M he has principles we said just this this evil has principles no I just uh how often do you get to to leave a movie just avoid of Hope which I think is an interesting artistic expression oh yeah cuz it certainly feels relatable we like to think that it doesn't but sure you always you always like to think oh there's more to the story like at the end of all this bad and we assume that the bad does end there will be good right sure cuz we're used to the threea structures like okay there's a bad thing yeah and then oh it gets worse but then it gets better at the end sure we had the climax defeat the evil and things resolve right yeah this was a resolution I mean there's some things too where like there's not resolution I mean you know Romeo and Juliet is just a story of like tragedy yeah it's not really there's like there not a good ending to that no yeah but things like that happen but there's something about this that's like uh you know I mean the title itself but just the unfulfilled nature of Tommy Lee Jones and what a perfect person to cast in that role yeah like I think the whole thing is pretty he's the most believable Texan Sheriff like Josh broland being this you know this kind of like Wilderness guy you know being like I'm okay I'll square up I'll fight against the evil but there's no fighting against this evil this evil is eternal and Immortal it doesn't go away then you have Woody harison come in he's going to be the Maverick cop to take on it Tommy Lee Jones the world weary Sheriff he's goingon to do something you know thought Tomy Jones was going to die there at the hotel yeah when he went back he never goes back to the crime scene Tomy Jones never did and he went back and that guy was there and then he just wasn't there and I'm like I wasn't I wasn't sure if the window was locked or unlocked I wasn't sure CU I'm like I don't know what it looks like normally see I what I I've always thought is that it was locked he was there he didn't kill him because he didn't see him one of his principles is like if you see me do you see me yeah if if you see me I that's how I that's how he is the way is he's a that's why uh Woody harelson character was like you saw him and you're not dead wow if Tommy Le Jon yeah if Tommy Le Jones had found him he would have been dead he would yeah like was he in the closet that was dark still I think he was under the bed or like in the shadows between the beds like scrunched under like the blankets how they hang down maybe you know but yeah maybe in the closet maybe I mean he could have been under the table beside the refrigerator you know yeah that little crook of the room I don't know but it even kind of like sets up almost like oh he's about ready to retire you know a couple days away from retire Mr go he's going to die he he gets he lives on he had second thoughts about going in when he saw the lock was broken yeah I like I know that it's this guy who does this and what he does when he leaves sure I get you so Aaron would you say you say you don't really like the movie but you say it succeeds at what it's trying to do I'm sure it does yeah just not your type of movie it just I I'm unsatisfied as what I am like I I don't know like way to describe you but it's not a happy experience there's like an intentionality in the unsatisfaction though it's like I get unsatisfied when like okay well what I thought would be like wasn't like it just wasn't done well enough or something but this is like obviously done well but like with intentionality to make it like oh man well that sucks and it makes you think about that with when regards to other things not just crime you know I I think it succeeds at what it what it does and again I just never I've personally never felt that way at the end of the movie and I thought that was significant it covers everything I was thinking Ian I say most of that kind of stuff but this this kind of movie there's not much to say at the end because the the expression is the is the journey not the resolution right sure I think a lot of the camera a lot of the action kind of elements of it were were done really well I don't think there's anything in the movie that's done poorly you know what I mean like I I think it's done done well I was almost expecting them to say like whenever Ellis and uh uh Tommy Lee Jones were talking I was almost expecting them to be like this isn't a Country for Old Men cuz like they they were talking about like being old and they were talking about the country and like all these things like There's No Country for Old Men but no I I think it it works as like a wonderful mirror to what how we usually want to uh you know have movies take us somewhere and give us an experience and give you that satisfaction you it's a two hours well spent you know like this one just feels like a more like okay if a movie were real this is what would happen yeah so it's a waste of time I could just watch the news guys thank you very much for watching this movie along with us uh there's all different
