Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
The great thing about the band having three distinct singers is that they all have their own interpretation of Tuomas' songs. It would be bland and boring if everyone sang the same way.
That's fine. Tarja will never disappear from those first 5 albums and Nightwish is what it is because of Tuomas" brains.
They give me different moods/feelings. Floor's is powerful and rockin', Tarja's is more contemplative/melancholy. Its nice having all this variety and amazing singers to choose from!
Who are those kids playing Nightwish??
I like all of their singers, but Tarja attracted me the most to Nightwish. And like others have said, the different singers’ performances of this song have different feelings to them, and I just happen to prefer Tarja’s rendition of it.
It's two different versions of a great song... While I prefer Wacken 2013, I still love End of an Era.
Both are great and it’s really cool to have options. The only shortcoming of Floor’s version to me is that “Redeem me” isn’t nearly as powerful. It’s pretty soft, presumably because she can’t hit that note hard. I can’t help but notice because it’s my favorite part. I’ve been watching concerts all day for days this week and it’s like that every time. Anyway, just wanted to point that out. I adore both takes on the song and Floor is my favorite Nightwish vocalist.
I think that GLS is one of those NW songs that all 3 singers sound pretty good on (though I wish we had a professional quality live version of the song with Anette, rather than just relying on the fan filmed clips to judge) - it's not my favourite NW song, but I enjoy what all 3 singers bring to it.
That's OK. Though I disagree, it's a fine choice nonetheless.
