I'm gonna post this here so I dont have to go looking for it every night.

I've never been a fan of Jazz until hear recently.

Lately I just cant go to bed before I kick back on the Redneck Recliner and mellow out with some Jazz.

I seem to be partial to West Coast, Or Cool Jazz. Especially something with some laid back Alto Sax in it. Absolutely no human voice though ..... that would just crash the pleasure for me like a bad scratch on a record.

I've noticed it really sounds different on my horn speakers vs Dome Tweeter systems. Whichever I'm listening to at the time sounds better than the other. I guess Jazz is typically recorded to a higher quality than other genres. The background silence, relative to other genres, is an integral part of the experience. Gives it a more cozy flavor .... like your sitting in the studio lounge.

And thus, I dont think it would work well in my truck. Road noise, concentrating on traffic, etc ........ would nullify its calming effect on me. I might try it in my office at low volume ... lots of distractions there though.

Anyway ..... this might be just another phase I'm going through, but right now I seem to be clearing my schedule for a nightly shot of Jazz, and dont want to turn it off to go to bed. And it seems like something I might be doing more as I get old....er. I know I will be able to compensate for my expected hearing loss with amperage.

Well shit ....... I've had Spotify for years. I literally signed up the day it was released in the US.

But I was never willing to pay for the Premium version. I have a longstanding problem with paying for music that goes back to my Napster days.

I never really got too far into it because of all the fuckin' commercials. I dont do commercials either.

But come to find out 2 of my kids and my wife had premium accounts, and through some family plan Spotify offers, my account just became premium at no cost to my cheap ass.

I can see already this is really gonna fuck up my life. There just aint enough hours in the day now for me to listen to all this new music.

It coincides with my new Jazz fetish.

But what that really means is that my ears are starving for new shit. And an unlimited supply of algorithm suggested new shit is at my fingertips. Not just on my main computer audiophile setup, but on my phone. Which means its available at all my bluetooth systems (Truck, Hammocks, Pool, Shop, Bathtub) as well.

I'm just inundated here with tunage.
