Niagara Falls Exploring Shops And Attractions Fun Walk March Break

good morning everyone it is Thursday March 16th and we're in Niagara Falls March break this week for the kids no school so we're just gonna go take a walk starting on Center Street here and make our way down Clifton Hill we're gonna look for a few things along the way and just enjoy the time here okay enjoy the sights uh what's happening with the old Guinness Book of Records building let's see if we can find out what's going on with that and then make our way to the falls okay I noticed when I started here where we are just outside of the Post Cereal building they make cereal here for those of you that don't know you can really smell it it smells really good this building right here this used to be an old arena and then it turned into a sand sculpture museum for a while and I just noticed this one boarded up part somebody removed it and you can see what remains of one of the old displays of the sand sculpture we're still here I wonder if there's any more inside I'm not sure but it looks pretty interesting I'm not sure what this one is supposed to be but it looks like almost like maybe there was a U.S flag there you can see on the corner looks like what might have been a flag and then it looks like a rifle here right there yeah kind of interesting yeah it's all sand pretty neat neat find I'll just show you the building here that's what it looks like it's pretty run down a Titanic Museum you know for the boat the Titanic but nothing really developed to that so yeah kind of sad hopefully they'll do something with this eventually it's just abandoned and kind of you know deteriorating see all the doors have been broken the glass is broken so like I said we're just on Center Street and Lewis Avenue [Music] just a little tip for you if you wanna free if you want free parking go down there a little bit near the end of the street there's free parking I think it's for two hours or three hours so it's pretty it's pretty decent so we're just passing the Oasis Motel old sign here pretty ancient I wonder how old this place is it says best price in town I don't know if it's open or not oh yeah it's open it is open doesn't look like they have anybody staying there right now and then to the right you've got choice in by the falls and I'm going to show you up here as we get up here I saw some a really nice mural I want to look at that tulip Olympia motel low rate and outdoor pool oh they're open too okay yeah so attractions are starting to open up again as of today so it's kind of exciting like the outdoor attractions this is free Wi-Fi and we're in the Clifton Hill district for those of you that don't know and I'm happy to be here Madonna Falls video um like a pre-recorded one in a little while someone's happy to get out here see if there's anything new the Indian coffee house all day breakfast continental and Indian this place sounds interesting food looks really good dine in and take out and Catering interesting so that's a nice looking restaurant here have they have a little patio it looks like when it gets warmer notice there's like a food truck right here Anchor Bar the original buffalo wing I don't know when they opened that or maybe on the weekends or maybe when it's warmer no idea we're at the right by the Days Inn and Suites it's another food truck right here squeeze me juice bar and Eatery wow they have a lot of different interesting drinks here see the smoothies menu there protein shakes fruity Refreshers they sell sandwiches too grilled cheese sandwiches oh I think I'd like to try that sometime they're probably gonna open when it gets a little warmer busier paninis Subs not me it looks looks and sounds good just by reading it oh there's a better menu there on display just wanted to show you this on the side of that building where that Indian coffee house is this really neat mural I know someone that would like this adz156 add Z I know you'd like this it's pretty cool here uh it looks like a Barber's pole is that what you call that like a a hair a salon a stylist a hair stylist right that's what they have for barbers and then there's little remnants there of Clifton Hill haunted things and then some type of graffiti art here [Music] and there's this cool guy up there pretty neat [Music] and then I noticed uh that it looks like an ax or something I don't know what that is oh is that that's like a tattoo gun is that what that is for a tattoo artist and I like that the Clifton Hills somebody drew with the little haunted house to give you an idea of the haunted houses and things like that that was really cool I like that a lot let me got this guy here I don't know who he is ink and clip and there's really cool um I forget what you call that art oh I forget if anyone knows let me know in the comments but I've seen it before it's really beautiful and then you've got these creatures here like a lion and I don't know what that is he looks scary to me yeah pretty cool though eh kind of neat on the building very colorful yeah pretty cool art [Music] it might be a little bit windy today so apologize if it's a bit Breezy hopefully it's not too bad you can see the Sky Wheel going already I forgot I don't know if I mentioned the time it's about 11 35. there's a parking lot here that's where I parked seven dollars for parking today for all day parking [Music] and oh I forgot to show you this I saw another name mural on the side of the building I'm just coming hi what used to be Jack's Cantina but looks like it's changed now now it's called royal pan jabi it I think that's Indian Cuisine right that's what it seems like to me so that has changed it says they're hiring another Indian restaurant here in the Jabba on the Falls Indian Cuisine and then we've got spicy Olive to the right there's an ATM there I don't know if it works or not and there's this restaurant here New York Chinese and Canadian Foods open let's go take a quick peek here oh they've got it doesn't have the prices but it tells you um what they have they have a kids menu which is good to know it's visiting there's kids menus all types of different soups lots of variety here lots of different things looks like they have quite the variety on their menu which is good good to know and then across you've got the rock World souvenir shop here and there used to be Rock Legends Museum like a wax museum next to it but now it's locomoland which is like the model trains which is kind of nice too we all along the top all types of really nice photos of uh Locomo land inside to show you how it looks so that's kind of nice I like that gives you an idea nice Sparks Steakhouse here and this Yanks Bar and Grill has been here a very long time shop here it's not open so they have 1.99 T-shirts a nice Starbucks coffee right on the corner Center Street it's very handy I love Starbucks oh we can cross so we're gonna cross there's some statues against the tightrope walkers so if you're ever in the Falls make sure you get a peek at that because sometimes people miss them kind of hanging in midair so I always notice that when I come here and then all along this area are different restaurants there's Louis tousseau's wax museum there's Indian restaurant and different gift shops all the way along here and another more restaurants down goes quite far down there I feel right here across the street and staying with all along here going up Ferry Street that way there's tons of restaurants and hotels motels way down there there's lots of them lots of choices thank you now we're just gonna try and go into the Canada Trading Company as we get up here I want to see if I can find any pins or maybe a shirt this time my building because you always hear the loud man talking when you walk by Beaver tails that might be a stop later you'll have to see if I get hungry when you brush up again let's see see how it goes just outside of the Crystal Caves there's always this fun guy here always entertaining he talks if you want to walk down this way this leads to the Niagara Casino and then there's a maze here an adventure Maze and the upside down house down here and places to eat there's the place Fusion wrap here where I had the really really delicious burrito let me just show you the pictures quickly if you want a fulfilling meal the burritos here are so good questions you have on the menu to give you an idea looks so good they even have spring rolls and samosas Biryani am I pronouncing that right fish and fries looks like they have quesadillas they have many many oh there it is see that so good that looks good doesn't it burritos Shawarma Pita wraps tacos poutine play go a little shop here Wonder Mart they probably have some things here here in need like necessities and things like that probably a good place to go for that little snacks I want to go into the Canada Trading Company to look so I might just have to put my own music over it okay we'll just go have a look around and see if they have any nice shirts maybe or pins they'll have a look there's wizard golf and of course Ripley's Believe It or Not Auditorium really really fun place to check out okay let's go in look they have a lot of nice tie-dye shirts for falls on it Fun's really pretty I really like that with the green the nice dark green and the birds feather it's really nice I wonder how much that one is I'm gonna just so it's 62 dollars for that hoodie some nice hats too lots of variety so nice too with the little the fur pullovers 51.99 this is Niagara Falls Canada it's really nice I like that I like that one [Applause] I even have these that are pretty trendy right now and with the Canada on it nice pink color nice pink hoodies too Canada Return To Nature but I'm looking for one that says Niagara Falls like I like that hoodie 62 dollars I don't know what do you guys think it's pretty nice though love the feather and the birds I might I might get that one I'll still go look and we'll see this one too with the Moose I don't know I really like that one coat too is really nice looks really warm with fur inside with the Canadian colors I found the pin section and they have all kinds of patches and I bought a patch here one time oh there's the one I bought right there I have yet to put it on my jean jacket I should do that oh let's see this one it's this button here that looks nice it's got the boat in the rainbow it's 4 59 I think I'm gonna get that one I wish there was one of the Skyline Tower but you probably have to go the Skyline Tower to get that so well oh there's big ones too oh it's a magnet magnets I think that's it for the buttons there even have nice little wallets and tiny little uh backpacks kind of like a fanny pack right I guess I don't know care of things on sale maybe there's something in here camouflage hoodie oh there's smaller ones all different sizes so there's a lime green one with a heart it's kind of pretty [Music] and then they have like [Music] plaid plaid shirts and they say Canada on them so this one has like a high neck not like a full Hood so I like it but I'm gonna think about it okay we're still gonna look around and even buy a fish encased in like a glass thing kind of creepy look at this the spider company got this nice pen I'm gonna put it on it's got the boat on it made of the Mist that's what I call it made the Mist that's what it says super happy about that let's find somewhere I can put it on my bag Denise I asked the ladies inside of that gift shop if they knew what was happening happening with the old Guinness Book of Records building but they didn't have any idea of what was going on there so hopefully someone down here might I will keep asking okay let's park over at the hillbillies and I'll put this on my backpack you can look at the fun things here [Music] [Music] so it's starting to get a little busier now turning out to be a nice day here [Applause] sorry Thrift Lodge at The Falls just outside of that there's another gift shop down there the Blue Moose and then it continues on over here I want to see if I can go inside the secret garden souvenir shop if they're open so we're gonna do that while we're here and then we'll make our way to the falls busy lineup at the big big top Amaze of lasers Okay so I found out that um the nice young lady that was working back there told me there is a new attraction that is going into there to the where the old Guinness book of records used to be she couldn't announce what it was she when she said she's not allowed to stay yet but yeah something new is coming and attraction so that's kind of exciting hopefully it's something interesting so this is where it's gonna be yeah they're working on it it's all boarded up so you can't see what's going on so this used to be the Guinness World Book of Records Museum um I was here for years and years and years and then when the pandemic hit they decided to auction everything off and they closed it so kind of sad but it was such a fun place but yeah so now you know something new will be here I'll see if I can put a picture in of what the Guinness Museum looked like for you I'll do that right now now wow wow wow wow [Music] there's somebody performing foreign [Music] here the Brewing Company there's a patio up there on top which is nice for the summer we like this whole area right here it's very nice it's outdoor patios so there's one more exciting piece of news I'll share with you as we get down there near the end but I'm not going to tell you yet because you have to wait wait and see here comes the WinCo bus soon in Queen Victoria Park here there's going to be a whole beautiful display of daffodils thousands of them you'll see soon it comes so we're gonna walk up here and then go through the Oaks Garden theater or some people call it a secret garden and make our way to The Secret Garden gift shop there's another Starbucks right here on the left busy day sweater calves look like Niagara Falls cabs here's their phone number in case you want to take the taxi here see the ad on the side for Doc McMillan's Irish Pub it's very delicious there that's on Lundy's Lane I mean um now I'm just trying to see it looks like like that part is closed off I have to see if it I can open it just gonna cross here oh you know where I should go and have a peek the Hard Rock let's go see what kind of shirts they have let's go have a look let me just play up here beetles I know some Beatles fans out there love the falls and like the Beatles so that's just outside of the Hard Rock we can go in and have a peek inside of the Hard Rock now let's go see if we can find some t-shirts or something the music playing though so let's notice they have a really nice pin collection here [Music] [Music] that for a future visit okay really really nice ones there oh just flame hats here [Music] [Music] five set of drumsticks here which is really cool with the Hard Rock Niagara Falls for 25 dollars look at this one it's really cool [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's pretty nice here this one and this one it's got John Lennon imagine Niagara Falls very nice well now you saw a glimpse in there of all the nice shirts they have and collectibles I didn't see anything that really I saw one shirt that kind of caught my eye but not that I really really wanted to buy it plus it looks really small so let's see what the secret garden store has if they let me see line up to go across the border everyone wants to go State side today I guess foreign Gardens that is new to me did not know that at all so I'm guessing this is like Rainbow Gardens and then that over there where the sloped area is is the Oak Garden theater all these years I've been coming here and I did not know that [Music] Garden restaurant and gets open let's go see if they let me film in there [Music] I've been in here once before just to look around it's really nice in here so I can just show you in the window too what they have nice collector plates Birds look like they're glass Niagara Falls nice little collectible to have it's Canada or Niagara Falls on it [Music] one with a nice butterfly for you butterfly collectors all right so I'm just inside of The Secret Garden restaurant I just met Mike the owner who's super nice and he told me they have these pictures of the hotel that used to be for Oaks Garden theater is so I had to come and look at them and show you okay [Music] so it caught on fire and burnt down but yeah so that's how it looked too bad really more pictures here [Music] look at this cool shot of the old cars I like this restaurant it's very really nice and unique look at it looks like Jason playing hockey I know it's also this view of the falls this old View Bridge the old bridge look at that building I remember reading about that old building there [Music] okay so we're just inside of The Secret Garden restaurant and we're gonna make our way into the souvenir shop and there's these interesting families sitting here and enjoying themselves they like this restaurant they don't move they stay here all day and they're playing a board game food oh my gosh it's so fun it's inside the souvenir shop now [Music] and washrooms I see the washrooms they're selling with the hand pointing to the washrooms oh they got lots of magnets drinks hoodies [Music] this is a nice store I like it I'm gonna combine different types of teas and cookies for souvenirs Maple cookies syrup maple cream cookies [Music] look at the nice Falls View I wouldn't even want to open that I would just like to keep the box like that polar bear droppings yeah so it gives you an idea all kinds of nice things in here socks and little souvenirs like pencils and things really unique little coin purse I love getting those when I was little little coin purse to remember your trip look at this one this is I would probably buy that one how much that is as it falls 750 that's pretty reasonable I love the pictures that he had though hanging in his restaurant very very nice well they've got calendars for 2024. I wonder how much the calendar is something I think a 14.99 okay let's go over here and see some nice shirts and things hoodies small hats [Music] but I really like The Secret Garden restaurant nice [Music] colors oh you can buy the maple syrup over here oh These are nice they're fall so they're tank tops so you can get tank tops for summer go over here and see the maple syrup lots of shirts this is the place to come if you're looking for t-shirts and things even little baby onesies [Music] 100 bucks for that hundred dollars [Music] okay well there's lots of things in here sunglasses and wind chimes those glass plates keychains cups kinds of nice things you can come and purchase and take home with you even ornaments all right so that's the secret garden oh I like these Secret Garden gift shop I like those dream catchers it's very pretty one there I wonder how much this energy flow 39.99 for that one pretty nice there my sculptures too it's a nice things in here really nice big one unique [Music] and get a scoop of rocks if you collect rocks look at those nice pictures here [Music] isn't that nice view of the balls [Music] there's that one over at night it's really nice oh they're posters I think unframed in a tube it's okay 24.99 it's nice take that home [Music] that in your living room or something okay well I enjoyed this shop it's very nice in here kinds of little lamps this goes on and on well that was a little Tiki guy oh look at the machine it's this machine for like a picture maker look at this thing if anyone knows what this is let me know looks interesting umbrellas in case it rains so that was The Secret Garden gift shop and restaurant and I got to meet the owner he was very knowledgeable he knew a lot of things about this whole area since he's here for a while and he grew up I think Catherine's like me he said so he told me something interesting about this building down here he said years ago this building right here right across the street you can see there see that one used to be a gift shop and then downstairs of the gift shop was a movie theater can you believe that I had no idea so that's something new that I learned today about I always wondered about that building like I wondered what it was used for so cool and he said there's a stairway we're gonna go see that right now there's a stairway he said that you would exit and come back up the stairs from the movie theater after the movie was done really really cool so you can see it says Niagara Parks Commission on the building let's go see the staircase I know I've seen it there before I just wondered I never knew what it was for you oh yeah you can see it's gated off how cool is that so yeah so this used to be the stairway that went down and then you'd be in the movie theater down there really interesting let's see if I can get a better view of that see yeah they go down and then you'd go right down into the building amazing and then he also told me which I was really appreciating that he told me these things that there used to be a tunnel that went underground into the Oaks Garden theater area [Music] day on the border people crossing over to the states massive lineup of cars heading over a beautiful day too so if you're ever in Niagara Falls you want to check out The Secret Garden restaurant and gift shop I think you should I recommend doing that and you can see they've got the old sign up there see that but I like it I like that he the way he has it in there it's Unique I bet he has a lot of stories too that he could tell me okay we're just gonna make our way up here to the lookout I want to show you something fighting today the beautiful view of the fall of today lots of nice Mists here uh gorgeous day beautiful sunny day [Music] got a nice view up here see the nice skyline of the hotels and the Skyline Tower the yellow bug elevator going down there it goes so this is where that hotel would have been somewhere in this area the one that I showed you in the picture that was on fire inside of The Secret Garden restaurant would have been over here somewhere located here for Oaks Garden theater is really interesting and if I can find it I found a picture an old picture of this old building that used to be down here I gotta see if I can find it if I do I'll put it in there of the building that used to be where you would go to the maid of the Miss Ride it was a beautiful building but yeah so it's no longer there and they used to have an old incline here too that they took away but then they have a new one now let's get over to the lookout so I can show you something I wanted to show you today it's kind of exciting Niagara city cruises horn blower Canada's top visitor experience there's the incline railway right there that you would go on if you want I think you could walk down there too though so that's what I wanted to show you Niagara city cruises started running today first day of the season and the earliest in history from what I just I saw this morning it's the earliest they've ever opened for the season season March 16th 2023 is a pretty good amount of people on it today I bet you that would be cold though when you get hit by the Mist today it'd be probably really really cold down there but you could be the if you go today be the first ones on it first ones of the year and I did not see the American side running today they don't have their boats in yet just side so yeah that's pretty exciting it tells you warmer weather is coming zip lines also open wow how fun so we got city cruises going zip lines going [Music] to see there's another boat right there foreign they've got two boats out sorry about the wind here [Music] see there's a there's a few people down there waiting for their next ride already fun to show you kind of a neat view here so you can see you know the different Rock layers along the wall here we really think about that when you're walking along there so you're sort of close to the edge of a cliff kind of neat though [Music] the side of the Niagara city cruises entrance where you can buy the tickets I just noticed this here looks like they have an automated you can like do it like automated ticket purchase here that's good to know us interact and ignorant so there you go that's good information if you want to take the boat cruise [Music] you can see here that's the little golf cart coming back with people from the zip lining so they drive you back people getting ready ready for a fun ride boat's on its way back ready for another round of people not too many people there yet standing waiting chilly still though but it's nice to see it going that's for sure oh here we go they're getting ready to fly foreign for the winter over here pretty sure that's what that is here goes the golf cart well just notice there's another building down there too quite a big building I have no idea what that is people with their red raincoats getting ready getting ready to get wet here comes the boat let's way back can anybody see how many people are on there one two three thank you probably about 50 people on there that's quite a good amount what I can see anyways people at the bottom level and then at the top and maybe on the other side which I can't see awesome day for a boat ride a little chilly though okay well I think that's gonna do it for today's Walk we're gonna make one more stop before we're done but yeah I just wanted to show you that the main in the Mist boat [Music] Maiden first day of the Season voyage all right we'll meet you over at the other place notice as I was walking these two men working on removing the light display there for Festival of Lights just so you know there's a Welcome Center here and you can buy tickets get information here from different attractions things like that it's right here right in the entrance way to Victor Queen Victoria Park [Music] statue there like that it's kind of like the entrance way to Queen Victoria Park did you hear that she's like no I don't want to see the ball s oh there's little spring flowers already might be pansy or not pansies they call them forget also they changed it here they closed off the walkway oh they changed it to at the end here finished yet or maybe they're not going to have because it used to be a pathway right here and then you can come out but they changed all that I don't think they're gonna put it back interesting but you can see here some of the spring flowers are starting to pop out but over there that little little patchway a little patch of beautiful bright yellow flowers a sign that spring is here I can't wait for summer oh my goodness it's beautiful [Music] we make our final stop I'm gonna get myself a nice little treat so I'm gonna stop at the beaver trails get a yummy beavertail milk kind I'm gonna get in time I'm trying that and having that you're always so good though [Music] [Applause] [Music] upside down house or not Learners to park right here is the upside down house oh the doggy hi puppy oh I don't see anything oh there's benches right there but it's very loud [Music] [Music] disgusted here by the palm tree look how cool this building is Mystery maze that would be fun to do sometime get lost with the mystery maze purple bench favorite color the upside down house enjoy that view let me get my uh beaver tail let's go let's see oh my gosh this is the apple pie that's what I got look at it apples on there so this was nine dollars and change but it looks so good I don't think I'll eat it all but it's yummy just so you know look at bonjour my sweet yeah for sure delicious I'm gonna enjoy that here we go guys want some um this is so good really really good and again that this is apple pie very tasty so try one out give yourself a treat if you come to the falls you gotta enjoy yourself so that's gonna do it for today's video guys I hope you enjoyed the walk and all the sights
