New York’s Cheapest 1-Bedroom Apartment

today we're seeing two of the cheapest places anywhere in manhattan first up we've got a one bedroom for fourteen hundred dollars that's like renting half a studio and then next up we've got a two bedroom for eighteen hundred these prices are so low that even if the apartments suck they're still probably gonna be the right financial decision for someone and i can't wait to see what they look [Music] like [Music] just got off the number six train right here at lexington avenue and 96th street look at how close the apartment is four minutes that's insane almost door-to-door service this is a bummer right when you get off the train there's a starbucks perfectly positioned to pick off the slow the stupid and the ignorant you can do better than that for your coffee and who cares if they've got a rewards program on the plus side you've got a liquor store and a wine store if you're a hipster you're gonna love the fact that they've got like eight types of ipa but if you're a hipster with a friend or two you can drink craft beer at this little bar across the street it looks like they've also got burgers and tacos this place could be deadly but these tacos probably aren't as deadly as these if you want to run a successful taco bell just set it up across the street from a bar who cares if it's not real mexican food but thankfully if you overdose on taco bell you can get the help you need over here at city md and next to that you can get the mop and the bucket you're gonna need to clean your apartment but if you're looking for a real mexican restaurant right here is your spot next to that there's a little pizza place and next to this is a little spanish restaurant i can't read the menu and why are they promoting heineken that's not spanish i seem to have missed the corona advertisement right on the side of the outdoor dining right here on the corner you got a local pizza spot this one's been in the neighborhood forever and it's actually pretty good i've eaten here before oh check out this local cafe right here just look at those sweets those look amazing and i'm assuming the coffee is good because there's people outside drinking it but look over here is central park if you've got a dog you can take it for a walk jeez look at the size of that monster you can go for a bike ride check this out you can see all the buildings in midtown that right there is the top of the empire state building is this the best park in new york city the building's right around the corner here and on the corner you've got a deli you've got laundry shout out to this little jamaican place right here just look at the menu that looks so good and there's the building right there in the middle of the block can you believe there's a place in here for 1400 let's go take a look [Music] all right i don't know about you but this one bedroom this is pretty cool love this nice big window look at all that sunlight as you can see we are pretty high up right now we're not on the first or second floor in fact this apartment is on the fifth floor and i think we've got to go up one more floor for the two-bedroom halls are nice and clean people pick up their amazon packages there's video surveillance and trash and bicycles are kept outside now we're gonna check out both of these spots if you have fun watching hit that like button and make sure you subscribe i make a bunch of apartment tours just like this every single week and i don't want you to miss one the front door is all the way down here at the end of this long hallway look at that you can cook right when you get home there's a medium-sized fridge a new stove a new vent in fact i think all of this is new and boy smart people put this together because there's a sink sprayer plus you've got enough counter space and shelf space for something stupid like a bread maker or an electric potato peeler after the kitchen this opens the bathroom and then you've got the living room and it's nice 15 feet 5 inches by 8 feet 11 inches you can do so much with this entertainment center here couch in the middle and just be on the couch that's where your table goes right next to the kitchen being able to fit all three of those in an apartment at this price is an absolute miracle right here there's a closet and it's pretty good you can fit a lot of stuff in there plus it's got overhead storage there's also this nice ledge by the window which makes that the perfect place for a shrine to your god if you know you know the bedroom measures 10 feet 4 inches by 6 feet 10 inches now because the closets here in the front doors here the bed's gonna have to go against this wall but you could fit up to a queen in here if you really wanted the view's also nice and quiet we're facing the interior of the building closet looks okay over here's the bathroom i love the checkered floor and the new toilet seat and this little medicine cabinet right here look at all this storage space you've also got a full-size tub you're just gonna have to stretch to reach the paper if you can't reach that don't visit that taco bell we saw earlier now let's head up one flight and see the two-bedroom [Music] okay i was wrong this apartment's actually one flight lower than the one bedroom which is above this one but as you can see it is still nice and bright in fact these windows are facing the street and the layout here is completely different right after you walk in you've got the kitchen and the living room and this area measures 13 feet by 9 feet 9 inches you'll be able to fit a couch or a dining table but not both whatever you do is gonna have to go in this corner but if you mount your tv on the wall right here whether it's a couch or a table it'll be a decent hangout area the kitchen's really nice we've got windows here and here stove looks new fridge does not but it's clean and look at the counters these are granite plus we've got a sink sprayer definitely for two people paying 900 each that's not bad because the bedrooms here are money this first room measures eight feet ten inches by 11 feet you're going to want your bed over here by the windows and that's because the closet and the door are both over here next to the bed you can have a nightstand and if you want to have like a little work station right here across from the closet that's a great spot for it the closet itself is actually pretty big plus it's got overhead storage now again we are facing the street but doesn't look like there's a lot of traffic out there except for that car i just saw now the second room is a little different it's got one window instead of two but the view is exactly the same and it measures eight feet seven inches by eleven feet one inch which means it's almost the same size you're gonna want your bed by the window closet looks a little smaller but honestly it's not really that small and it also has overhead storage and next to it you can always put some extra dressers but the bathroom here is definitely an upgrade it feels a little newer and it's got a window that's nice other one didn't have that it also has a medicine cabinet and below that the sink looks a little bit bigger at least it's got more counter space plus check this out there's these super useful hooks on the back of the door it looks like the toilet paper roll is also on the lower side but it's reachable and there's
