Hello guys, so welcome back again to Hum Tum in England. I am Gaurav and you guys must be thinking that why the UK government keeps on making immigration changes. Because there are so many changes happening these days to control the net migration. So recently on 4th of December, you must have heard that James Cleverley, the new Home Secretary here, had made an announcement. He had announced a 5 point plan to reduce the overall net migration because the overall migration has increased a lot. And on 21st of December, gov.uk had published an article as well. But after that, many people had a lot of doubts that which announcement is going to be applied and what are going to be the dates. So on 30th of January, recently they have made another announcement. In that article, they have mentioned the dates and timetable of which rule is going to be applied. So in today's video, we are going to discuss that which rule is going to be applied and if you are planning to come to the UK or if you are already in the UK. So let's start with today's video. So first of all, let's do a small recap that what were the 5 changes in the 5 point plan. So the first change was that social care workers will not be able to bring their family members to the UK on a dependent visa. The second change was that the skilled worker visa salary will be increased from 26,200 to 38,700. And this change was announced on 4th of December. But the salary increase was not included in the social care worker visa. The salary for the skilled worker visa was increased from 26,200 to 38,700. The third announcement was about the shortage occupation list. In the shortage occupation list, if you have a job type, you will get a 20% discount on the ongoing rate. Which means whatever rate is going on, you will get a job at a rate of 20%. So you get the option to apply for a visa. But they have now cancelled that too. And I will tell you the dates of that in a while. And in the shortage occupation list, there are a lot of jobs that are going to be cut down. And the next announcement was that the people who are settled here are planning to get a spouse visa for their partner. So their salary was the minimum threshold earlier. It was around 18,000. They had planned to increase it to 29,000. And then they are going to increase it from 29,000 to 38,700. So that timeline has just been announced. Which rule is going to be affected from when. And after this, the last announcement they made was related to the graduate visa. Which is PSW. All the students who come here get PSW. You get an unsponsored work permit for 2 years. You can do a job here. You can find a job. So about that too, they had made this announcement that they are also going to review it in the future. Who knows, they may reduce PSW or what new rules have come on it. There is no such plan yet. So the timeline of the 5 changes that they announced. When they told the times that when they are going to apply. Let's discuss about that. So the first timeline is from 11th of March, 2024. Whatever care home visa you get here. You will not be able to bring a dependent with you. So whatever visa you get, only the main applicant will get it. The dependent will not be able to come here from 11th March, 2024. So this is the first announcement they have made now. 30th of January, 2024. After this, the second announcement I told you. The salary of the skilled worker visa is going to be increased from 26,200 to 38,700. So that rule will be applied from 4th of April. After 4th of April, whoever will apply for a new visa. This effect will be on them. And along with that, the health and care visa is exempt. It is not included in this. So its salary can be reduced. So this is a good announcement which is going to be applied from 4th of April. The next announcement related to the shortage occupation list. That too, most likely, they have written from April. Most likely, it is going to be effected from 4th April. Meaning, the 20% discount on the shortage occupation list will be cancelled after 4th April. If anyone comes on the shortage occupation list in the UK. Those who are already in the UK, they are not affected. Those who are new in the UK, they will be affected. After that, the jobs in the shortage occupation list which were temporary. They will also be removed. After this, the settled people who are planning to apply for the spouse visa. The salary which they had asked to increase was Rs. 29,000. They have set the date as 11th of April. After 11th of April, the minimum salary of Rs. 29,000 will be required to apply for the spouse visa. Spouse visa is different than dependent visa. The dependent visa which you apply on a skilled worker is different. And the settled people, when they call their partner, it is the spouse visa. So for that, the minimum salary is going to be Rs. 29,000 from 11th of April. They have also said that later in 2024, they are going to increase Rs. 29,000 to Rs. 38,700. It will be either by the end of 2024 or early 2025. But at the end, Rs. 38,700 salary will be done. After this, the next announcement regarding the graduate visa. Earlier, they had said that they will review in January 2024. Whether to change the PSW or reduce it. Till now, no such announcement has been made. And they have not reviewed it yet. Till now, they have said that they will review in late 2024. Till now, there is no such plan regarding PSW. So PSW is still there, which you get for 2 years. And till there is no announcement, there is no such plan. If you are coming in January, then you will get PSW. But before September, if they make any changes, then it depends on when they are going to close PSW. Or what changes they are going to bring in it. So till now, no such news has come. So you will get PSW, 2 years work permit. If you want to come to UK to study in January or September, then there is no such news yet. So this is the timeline they have told. When will the 5 new changes be applied and whether they are on you or not. And recently, they had made a very good announcement regarding IHS fees. Which are the immigration health charges. If you come here on a skilled worker visa, then your dependent had to pay £624 per year for IHS. Which is now going to be £1035 from 6th February. And if you are a student, then you had to pay £470 per year. Which they have increased to £776 per year. So this was a very good announcement. Basically, whatever changes they are doing, they are saying that if someone is coming to our country. Then make sure they are contributing to our economy. They have the enough skills to contribute to the infrastructure here. And it's not like they come here and use public funds. Or there is a burden on them. So you must have seen that there are so many changes in Canada as well. So every country is applying strong strict rules. Because the overall migration has increased a lot after COVID. Everyone was planning to go abroad. And as soon as COVID was over, people started migrating everywhere. So the overall net migration has increased a lot in every country. But if someone wants to come legally, then the routes are still open for them. If you want to come on a skilled worker visa, then the routes are still open. It is possible that your fees have increased a little. But if you come here and the company sponsors you. Then why do they take your money? In most cases, they sponsor you and your wife as well. So in those cases, you don't have to worry. Yes, but if master students want to come for a master's degree. So in that case, dependents are not allowed. You can only bring dependents for postgraduate research programs. And care home workers are also seen here. Many dependents have come on the visa of care home workers. So I don't know what purpose they have done research. That they have cancelled it. So care home workers will not be able to bring dependents. So these were some changes that you need to know.
