New Tractor Came Home to a Big Problem!

well we made it but uh i came home to a problem huh yeah what's the problem so the bull the minnie harford bull [Music] so foreign [Music] with me [Music] starting route to small farm innovations llc in 1.2 miles turn right onto us-177 [Music] so so [Music] well what's up guys this is daniel from arms family homestead and as you can see we're picking up our new tractor today from small farm innovations about a five and a half hour drive from where i live we're in i don't know if you call it south central texas caldwell texas long ways from home but guess what many of you guessed it by now we've got a tym cab tractor this is the 574 hydrostatic i know the traffic's loud gonna get this thing hooked up and head back home and we'll talk about it we'll talk about the whole story and what's going on here with this new tractor [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] do so just as a precaution i'm gonna i went ahead and unloaded the tractor on the other side of the creek just my main concern is pulling that trailer in i've got a big drop hitch on that trailer or on my uh truck and i'm afraid that drop hitch will drag the truck's not gonna have any problem getting this thing down here but i don't want my uh back end to drag as it drops off into the creek right there which i'm sure it would uh first issue though is i hope we make it to the house so this thing just came straight from the factory [Music] and uh the low fuel lights flashing so let's hope we make it to the house i bet we will see a hitchhiker [Music] do you need a ride sir sure oh my gosh [Music] we got radio we got air conditioning heater the low fuel lights flashing at us compared to this brand new burial well we made it but uh i came home to a problem huh yeah what's the problem so the bull the minnie harford bull got his head stuck in the hay feeder how long has he been there i don't know about 30 minutes ago i walked out here and i was going to go into the pet him and then i realized oh crap he's stuck let's go see if we can get him out and then i try to start taking off layers of hate where i might be able to like move away out of his head because the hay balls right here and his head is exactly right there okay we'll see what we can do you stay right there we'll be right back i've got diesel don't worry we'll put you in the shop and fill you up something's huge [Applause] [Applause] well what in the world bro this thing was made for you what the heck man what are you doing with your head stuck huh that's going to be interesting i really don't want to have to uh cut this really nice hay feeder up don't you just grab his tail and pull backwards how about you you don't think that'll work no i don't either we better not try that i know and then i was like oh crap his head's stuck well let me uh examine it here i don't think the hay bale's preventing him from getting it out it's just a big head you know hay bale's not what's stopping him i don't think in any way one day that i'm gone all day long it i left at 5 30 this morning and it's uh well 5 18 right now oh perfect any other day i'd have been here all day and could have got him out in no time but [Music] well perfect day [Music] [Music] i'm afraid i right there will get see like how to get his head in there but not be able to get it out like i tried to take layers off of the hay though yeah i don't think the hay bale's not in the way really that's what i was hoping was maybe the hay was in the way we could just move the hay [Music] [Music] i don't know let me go grab a come along and i'll see if i can spread that apart a little bit [Music] [Music] i see it coming [Music] all right dude back up spread it out a little come on you just got a fat head that's the problem hey he's free yay don't do that again and then he just goes right back in he better not you better go get you some water you probably been standing there a while good job noticing him down here though houston thank you i'm glad you noticed he's not hurt he's obviously been standing here a little bit you can see where he's been peeing and pooping all day he's probably tired though go get you some water yeah normally he'll move faster than that so all i had to do is just spread that apart just a little bit so the hay bale looks like it fell over probably yesterday or today so i'm gonna take my come-along off and lay that back down look at him he's already over there trying to eat more hey you alright buddy [Music] well i went ahead and pulled this thing in the shop i'm not going to park it in here all the time that's just where it's at for now but i'm going to go ahead and put some diesel in it because the low fuel hot's flashing i wish i had noticed that you know on the way home when i stopped and filled up my pickup truck but uh i didn't catch it until until i got home so we'll put some diesel in it because i know me and i'll probably forget if i don't [Music] okay so got the tractor fueled up and won't forget we're not going to run out of diesel that was that was kind of worrying me coming in so tym t 574 i believe it's the hst which it's the hydrostatic transmission with a front end loader and a backhoe so this quite honestly is the first tym tractor i've ever laid my hands on and they're not popular in our part of the country at all i know very little about tym tractors so i'm not going to be like a technical guru on this tractor but as many of you know i've been wanting a cab tractor really bad and uh thanks huge huge thanks to tym and tony from tony's tractor adventure because i would have never even considered tym if it hadn't been for tony and i've called and talked to several other fellows on youtube that have tym tractors and they had nothing but good things to say about them so this is what we got the tym t574 hydrostatic tractor is a 55 horsepower tractor and i believe it's like 42.3 horsepower at the pto four wheel drive comes with my non not all of them but this one came with the the backhoe attachment it's a by 85 so it's a sub frame mount that frame of that backhoe goes all the way under the tractor up to basically right here so it's not just a three-point hookup but it is detachable i can take it off and use the back of the tractor with the three-point hitch just like any other tractor but i can't wait to try this thing out it's going to be interesting the cab obviously has heat and air it's got a radio and i don't have to ride around in the dust and the heat oh i'm excited this thing is is beefy it's actually a lot to it's bigger than what i had envisioned i guess like the front end of this tractor is massive i don't know if it shows up on video or not but this is twice the front end of my last tractor that orange one had little bitty tires on the front not that it really affected it too much but this thing just looks massive and like i said this is a 55 horsepower tractor versus that 47. so i'm gonna get in here take all the plastics off of this thing and uh kind of go through and learn it figure it all out so like i said it is a hydrostatic drive transmission so basically what that means is you've got two pedals one for forward one for reverse got a high and a low front end loader did come with the third function valve and the reason the third function valve is important is you guys know i said i was not going to own a tractor yes own a tractor um without a grapple bucket i just so happen to have a grapple bucket sitting out there waiting for this tractor so yes i do have a grapple bucket already um let's see what else high low um four wheel drives down here pretty basic i mean there's not a lot of bells and whistles to it pretty simple tractor if you're wanting a technical how-to anything on technical how-to anything on tym go check out tony's tractor adventure channel tony has done reviews on so many of these tym tractors and he is way more of an expert on them than i am um but i know how to operate a tractor and i do know that this one has an air conditioner in the heater and the radio and i'm very excited about that it's got a front and back wrench front and back windshield wiper with the washer fluid front and back work lights on the front work lights on the back i mean i don't know what else to say other than i am pumped i'm excited about this this is a partnership with armed family homestead and tym tractors but make no mistake this tractor is mine where with my last one it was never going to be my tractor this one um eventually will be my tractor that will stay here forever at least until i decide to do something else with it so as i said i'm not an expert when it comes to the tym tractors this is literally the first one i've ever touched they're not popular in oklahoma there's actually only like three dealerships in oklahoma and i don't know they're kind of spreading tym is based in south korea so they're producing south korea they're kind of s um their u.s hub i would say is kind of in the southeast i'm not sure if it's south carolina georgia somewhere in that area i think they're more popular on the east coast but there's several channels on youtube that have been using tym tractors like i said tony's tractor adventure nathan from out of the woods the sawmill channel i called and talked to nathan multiple times about his tractor before i even really went too deep in consideration on this one because like i said i don't know a lot about tym as a brand and let's see i talked to alumna from alumna acres i talked to josh from stony ridge farm and everybody that i talked to had nothing but really good things to say about tym and as far as what they've used it for what they've done it's served all their needs this thing has a coupe j diesel engine i don't i'm not familiar with cook j i don't know a lot about them other than pretty much everybody i've asked about them so they're really similar to a cummings so like the dodge cummins so the guys at uh small farm innovations i talked to one of the mechanics he kind of went over everything showed me everything we got everything set up and i said tell me about that kook j engine he goes well i really don't know a ton about them because we never have to work on them they rarely ever break down so i haven't had any he hadn't had any issues as far as mechanic so that's a good sign i don't know i'm excited about it like i said i've wanted a cab tractor for a very long time and the backhoe on the back back here kind of sweeping the deal and there's a lot of little projects we can do with that obviously it's not an excavator you're not gonna be able to do with this what you could like a mini excavator or a big full-size excavator but small projects digging water lines and ditches and trenches and things i think it'll be good for that and i'm excited to try it out i don't know can you tell i'm happy i'm excited um i don't know just got to keep from busting the windows out of it now so like i said i'm not i'm not a technical tractor guru guy i know how to use a tractor and uh try not to abuse a tractor but um there's a ton of information on tym's website if you want to check these things out there's dealers all over the country but like i said they're they're not really popular yet in my area so i don't know where all they're popular at but it seems like they're growing in popularity and tym as a tym as a brand has really done a lot in the youtube world and reaching out and using youtube channels to market and stuff like that so i'm excited to try it out i'm excited excited to use it this thing has a lot of cool stuff a lot of cool bells and whistles that uh are a little bit different like one for instance i keep thinking of other things that to uh showcase that i'm not familiar with super familiar with but like this one has a lever on the back to raise and lower the three-point hookup which you can't do it right now with the backhoe on here but what that does is when you're backed up to a brush hog or a box plate or any three-point implement you know you're always having to get in the tractor and raise and lower that the arms and you can actually do that from outside on this tractor so so some pretty neat stuff and i'm excited to use it if you can't tell i'm happy finally got me a cab tractor and can get out of the elements when we're working but i've got some other stuff in the works i'm working on some attachments and things that i've always wanted one one really big attachment to go on the back of a tractor i've wanted for a long time i'm working on a deal i'm not going to spill the beans on that one yet but we got a lot of projects to do this winter while it's cold in a heated cab so anyways guys that's all i've got for new pickup pulled this thing flawlessly i'll say this my truck rode smoother towing this thing home than it does empty fuel mileage not great fighting a headwind driving north coming home only average about 10 miles a gallon that's not great fuel mileage but we made it here and it's good to have a truck that i can actually pull my own equipment with and not have to borrow and ask people to deliver
