this is a bold statement but I promise you you won't find a bigger fan of the Tesla Model 3 than me here on YouTube I've been a day one reservation holder of the first and ran model 3 I still own it to this day drive it nearly every day and I love it however Tesla they done went ahead and did it they made the best car that I've ever driven even better with the brand new 2024 Tesla Model 3 this is a redesigned car it has more range a better more premium interior and a softer quieter smoother ride it is Sleek it is innovative everything about this just screams the standard of electric vehicles going forward I've been driving it for a week now I'm excited to give you my full review of the 2024 Tesla Model 3 full disclaimer I have not purchased this car for myself yet Tesla was kind enough to let me borrow this with no strings attached they did not pay me or sponsor this video they truly just wanted my honest feedback of this new model 3 since I'm one of the earliest first generation model 3 owners so all of these opinions that you hear are my own when my wife dropped me off at our local Tesla Service Center here in Louisville Kentucky to pick up this car the first thing that she said was wow is that a new red paint that is sexy and although it made me a little bit jealous that she wasn't talking about me I have to agree with her the new model 3 comes in two new colors stealth gray which is the free paint color and this luscious Ultra red which cost an extra $2,000 now compared to the old multi-coat red paint the new Ultra red looks darker and richer and my wife described it as cranberry and either way I think it compliments the black trim really well more so than the old chrome trim so this particular Ultra red model 3 is the long range dual motor all-wheel drive with the new 18-in Photon wheels and this configuration costs $51,000 before taxes or any incentives unfortunately both the longrange and rear roll Drive model 3 options here in 2024 do not qualify for the federal EV tax credit here in the US when purchasing but the performance model 3 is supposedly coming out soon and that is rumored to qualify for the full tax credit but we'll have to wait and see and we all know Tesla does not make a slow car not sure why anyone would even want a performance because the dual motor is just so fast it's quicker than what 99% of the people would need now this dual motor model 3 goes 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds which is no change from previous model years but what has changed are many redefined aspects of the car inside and out starting with the exterior the most noticeable change is its allnew Sleek design of the front end that looks to be inspired by the model S Plus the new Slimmer headlights which look like squinting versions of the previous headlights if I'm being honest the new rear end also has a slightly different look to it along with the new spaced out Tesla lettering that has replaced the Tesla T logo badge the new tail light design is a bit wider and it's a single piece design that is incorporated fully into the automatic tailgate for better reliability and a lower chance of water leaks or misalignment the redesigned lower rear bumper also has new dedicated backup lights which are not only helpful when in reverse but these lights also serve as the hazard lights if the tailgate is up which is a nice safety feature there's also a slight ramp towards the top of the hood to reduce wind noise at high speeds which is a nice touch but it's not just new additions to the exterior there have been some takeaways as well there are no more front fog lights which I know will be a bit of a questionable move by some drivers who swear by them unfortunately I did not experience any fog during my time with this car and if given the option I'd prefer keeping the fog lights but Tesla seems confident enough in the model 3's new adaptive headlights to do away with fog lights for good now similar to its most recent predecessors the 2024 model 3 also has no ultrasonic sensors to assist with parking instead this car relies on Tesla vision and the new hardware 4 technology Suite that has a faster FSD computer but mainly better higher resolution cameras and Hardware 4 tries to replace the benefit of the Lost parking sensors with a new software based feature called High Fidelity park assist that shows a rendering of the vehicle surroundings on the screen and I'm sure Tesla will improve this as time goes by but right now calling it High Fidelity is very generous in my opinion I still personally prefer the experience of the old ultrasonic sensors which I felt more comfortable with as it showed me and alerted me on the screen with a fairly precise distance when I was getting too close to an object I really wish Tesla had put a front bumper camera on this model 3 like they did with the cybertruck maybe that will come in the future however one of my favorite features is the new 360° wraparound acoustic glass which was only on the front windows before but now is included on all the windows the rear windows and that back window and it really reduces the wind and road noise when driving which you will get to hear later in this video and just when we thought one of the safest cars ever made couldn't get any safer Tesla improved the side impact protection due to the new latch at the bottom of the doors and that along with the new body seals has led to improved noise isolation and a quieter ride and you can tell by hearing the way the door thunks when it shuts compared to the old model 3 here and you can definitely tell the difference when you get inside of this car and close the door because it you can feel it sort of pressurize inside the cabin now don't get me wrong the new styling is great it feels refreshing and sporty but it doesn't really impact how I feel about the car too much because it's not like the old design was bad I think both designs are attractive but the most important benefit of the new exterior styling is the aerodynamics which was important to one of their main goals of this new model 3 better efficiency Tesla put extreme dedication into energy conservation with refined surfaces that optimize airf flow and improved HVAC efficiency lower low voltage consumption and decreased brake drag and that along with more efficient tires and new 18-in and 19in wheel designs with removable Arrow caps for each has made this new model 3 the most aerodynamic Tesla ever made with a drag coefficient of just 0.219 all of this results in a slightly higher estimated range of 341 Mi on the long range trim but oddly comes with the same range of 272 Mi on the standard rear wheel drive now this longrange model that I drove actually showed 266 M of range at 80% which extrapolates out to 331 estimated miles at 100% so that's about 10 Mi fewer than the s according to Drew bino the head of Powertrain and energy at Tesla the new model 3 is expected to achieve better than 250 W hours per mile and remember for wat hours per mile the lower the number the better well during my 500 miles in this model 3 it averaged 275 wat hours per mile which is a little worse than Tesla's claim but there are a few things to consider cold weather negatively affects range and I drove this during February which is one of the colder months even though the week that I drove this the weather was pretty Prett mild mostly in the 40s and 50s I was also driving really fast when I was on the interstate which also hurts efficiency and by fast I mean I would set the autopilot to the max of 85 mph as much as I could however I did drive it exactly the way I drive my own 2018 model 3 and 275 wat hours per mile is about what I get in the winter in my car which actually has a lifetime efficiency of 252 W hours per mile so I really didn't see any drastic improvement in efficiency compared to my 6-year-old model 3 but then again my car is a rear wheeel drive compared to this all-wheel drive which could make a difference but I was hoping to see a bigger Improvement in efficiency given all the focus on the aerodynamics the Tesla Model 3 is a bestselling electric vehicle for a reason but no matter what electric vehicle you choose to buy sell or own to get the most out of EV ownership you need to sign up for today sponsor recurrent which is a free platform for Ev owners that is designed by battery scientists to analyze your vehicle's range and Battery it's a simple one-time process to sign up and connect your electric vehicle then after that you'll get access to daily owner insights on range and battery performance along with several other helpful data points and when it's time to sell or trade in your EV you can use the recurrent info to show the current state of the range and battery in order to sell your car for more money because recurrence network of dealerships pays a premium for these cars and if you're a first-time EV buyer you can use recurrent to check the range battery and tax credit eligibility on tens of thousands of used EVS for free these reports take a few vehicle specific data points to compare one car to thousands of similar cars no data is ever sold or shared without consent and Battery data is handled securely with into in encryption I've been using recurrent on all my Teslas since 2022 so click the link below to sign up today and join nearly 20,000 other EV drivers now moving on to the new interior in this model 3 which features a new design with an updated center console that again mimics the model S this interior features more premium materials including aluminum and textiles the center touchcreen comes with that faster ryzen chip that Tesla introduced in 2022 but the display is now brighter with higher contrast and is more responsive it also has smaller bezels which makes the actual screen real estate look a tiny bit bigger it's definitely snappier than my 2018 model 3 but I'm unsure how much of a difference you'd be able to see compared to last year's model for example now this also has an allnew telematics control unit with 50% improved cellular and double the Wi-Fi range including dual ban Wi-Fi capabilities and although I wasn't able to test this out it has improved Bluetooth connectivity so the car should recognize your phone from further away now hopefully that will also help it recognize the phone better even when you're right next to the door which seems to be what I experience every now and then with both my model 3 and my model y now this car also has a Next Generation premium audio system including three more speakers than before with a total of 17 speakers on the dual motor trim t Teslas are known to have some of the best audio systems in their vehicles anyway and this is no exception with the new model 3 and just like previous models there are dual wireless phone chargers under the center screen but a new change is that this is also the area where the key card is to be placed when using it to put the car in to drive this also has more powerful USBC fast charging up to 65 watts of power to charge a laptop there are new dual microphones for clearer calls over Bluetooth something you probably won't notice as a driver but others will hopefully notice on the other end of the call now the rear seats are supposed to be more comfortable but I personally didn't feel too much of a difference during my quick time in the back now the car dimensions are essentially the same but Tesla managed to make the trunk space slightly bigger without sacrificing room in the rear seats which is nice and a big new feature in this model 3 is the 8in rear touchcreen display on the back of the center console that has Bluetooth headset connectivity again this is another feature pulled from the model S which seems to be a recurring theme here now this screen gives rear passengers more control over their environment where they can adjust climate and enjoy entertainment on the screen such as games and video streaming from apps like YouTube and Netflix I have fairly long arms and could barely reach it at times but it's definitely nice to be able to adjust the passenger seat position for example if you need more leg room if you're in the back and being able to watch movies is a big perk for long road trips with kids I'm sure this will be a hit for parents and one of the more interesting new features is the new blind spot indicator light located in the door speakers it's nice that Tesla was listening to their customers to have pleaded for a traditional blind spot indicator light that's most commonly found on side mirrors but this tiny little red dot wasn't extremely useful in my situation when I was driving where I quickly needed to change lanes I think the new higher resolution cameras from Hardware 4 are still a better way to view blind spots and it also sounds crazy but uh looking over my shoulder is not that hard and I still find myself doing that anyways now this model 3 also features smart shift like Model S and model X which lets you switch gears using the left side of the touchcreen the gear selector will automatically show up on the screen when you're going 5 m hour or under it definitely takes some time getting used to but I found it to be quite easy to use and the only time I see this being inferior to using stalks is when you're trying to do a quick three-point turn or parallel park and that brings us to the next section of actually driving the car now this is where the magic happens okay an upgraded more comfortable quieter smoother more premium interior experience sitting in this driver's seat a first minor twek that is kind of cool is the brand new ambient lighting bar that goes spans across the entire inside of this vehicle going back to the rear seats all across the dash and it's customizable you can change the colors and and currently you can only just set it to one color using the color whe I love the way the light bar looks at night but it didn't seem like the glare was too distracting whenever I was driving at night the new Dash is also looks really clean and modern compared to like if you didn't like the old' 7s wood trim that was on the older model model 3's this has a nice new textile on the dash and it's it's a gray color so it's neutral and then the vent has gotten a new design as well and speaking of the vents new cool feature is that you can actually turn off the passenger vent if you don't need it and you can really tell that Tesla significantly focused on ride comfort in the quality quietness all those things have just been greatly improved now Tesla claims that this new model 3 has 30% wind noise reduction 20% road noise reduction 30% improved noise isolation and 25% impact noise reduction and after driving this car over 500 Mi for the past 7 Days absolutely number one feature of this car is the ride Comfort all of that is true it is quieter than my 2018 model 3 it's a much more comfortable ride that is also due to these new seats these new seats are very comfortable they're ventilated they cool and they heat when I sit in them for long periods of time like I've been in the this car for 2 hours in a day and I don't have the fatigue in my back I don't have the back aches that I have in my model 3 but this car also has softer suspension and when you're driving the car you feel a lot less of the bumps and you're hearing a lot less of the outside noise those two things put together along with the you know the comfortable seats it just I feel like I'm floating when I'm driving this car I feel like I'm on a boat and even when the regenerative braking kicks in or even when you break period it's such a smoother experience and when I speed up or slow down it's like I kind of ease into it I'm rocking back a little bit and when you're taking turns you can just tell that the suspension just absorbs it much more smoothly and you're feeling a lot less of the potholes and the little divots in the road it just feels like you're on a cloud another thing about this Driving Experience that is new there are no stalks and I was very critical about that uh when that when they first announced that I was like come on because the turn signals are right here on the steering wheel and that may sound unintuitive at first which it kind of is just give it a little time it's a little bit of a learning curve it turns out going stockless not that big of a deal I honestly got used to it by day two of driving what makes it easy to get used to is this little Notch right here as long as you know where the notch is you can just quickly press up for the right turn signal and down for the left turn signal once you get the hang of that it's honestly just easy my good friend makes fun of me because uh when I first got a Tesla I I kept on saying the same phrase over and over I kept on saying it feels weird at first but then you get used to it and honestly that should be the slogan for Tesla uh because that is the truth it it is kind of weird at first not having the stalks and relying on your steering wheel for the uh turn signals but you do get used to it and another good thing about these uh buttons they're not actually just touchscreen buttons when you press it you feel the little vibration giving you a feedback so you know when you are pressing it same thing on the other side there's a new button for uh the camera which is nice it's a quick access to the backup camera which I love that and the steering wheel feels great honestly the the hardest part of of me getting used to this this stockless steering wheel is the voice activation button and every time I press in on the right scoll wheel thinking I'm going to do a uh a voice command it actually sets your autopilot speed once for the cruise control press twice for autopilot that's actually the big and the biggest learning curve for me this scroll wheel honestly just feels like a little bit of a downgrade from mind it's not as grippy and it feels a little bit stiffer unfortunately it's only rained once since I've been driving because there's also another dedicated button for the windshield wipers here that I haven't really had to use but as far as like the windshield wiper being a button on the steering wheel probably not that big of a deal just because Auto wipers have improved recently so when it rains the auto wipers will come on automatically and hopefully you don't really have to use that button too much and the other thing that I didn't like about this new scroll wheel on the right is like whenever I was adjusting my autopilot speed by scrolling up I would accidentally hit the wind wiper button happened to me a few times and another thing that makes the transition to this stockless steering wheel uh a little bit easier is partly because of the software and that is the automatic turn signals that you have and that you can set on here what that will do is cancel your turn signal after you have changed lanes if I'm just driving and I need to change lanes I just quickly press the turn signal and that's all I have to do press it once and I'm done because once I change lanes it automatically goes off just having that software setting plus the notch that all kind of just makes it easy to to learn and adapt yourself to this but here's a software request Tesla if I have a destination already input into my navigation my navigation knows that I'm coming up to a stop light and I'm supposed to turn right it'll automatically turn my turn signal on to turn right that would be kind of helpful that would minimize the need to even turn the turn signal on for turns at a stop light stop stop sign and a lot of people were asking well how exactly much quieter is it than my 2018 model 3 so I actually did a decel test using a decel app from on my phone and I drove the same road at the same speed and you can give a listen here to the difference so hopefully that gives you an idea of the Improvement of the sound it's an incredible Driving Experience however having said that I have experienced a downgrade in this car and that is when you're actually parked not driving cuz driving you're getting a lot less noise but when you're actually parked and not moving I think it has to be this new wireless phone charger here in the console area it emits this annoying buzzing sound my old model 3 my 2018 does not do that it's completely silent when you're parked and I actually did a deciel sound test between this and my model 3 when they both parked this new model 3 was actually louder okay so what's the final verdict on this new 2024 Tesla Model 3 I think this is the best model 3 ever made but that's expected just like when Apple releases a new iPhone every year and they say the same thing every year it's the best iPhone that we have ever created well obviously it is it's the latest release with newer technology I think if you are in the market for a new car and you have a budget of $50,000 this is hands down the best car available electric or not gas I don't care it is the best car for $50,000 if you had that budget and you're looking for a new one you can even get a rear wheel drive trim for $40,000 which is even better and you still get most of all the features that make this a great vehicle for the long term but is this enough to make me upgrade from my 2018 model 3 I felt pretty persuaded to upgrade during the week I had the 2024 model 3 but once I went back to my old antique model 3 I actually felt fine not upgrading to the new one yes the quieter cabin and more comfortable ride are things I would love to have the most but I still get the overall Tesla experience in my old car I like to think of the 8020 Rule and the fact that the 20% of the things that make up 80% of the satisfaction is still the same my old model 3 is still a quick all electric vehicle that continues to save me from buying gas it has the best Advanced Driver assistance system in autopilot which still performs the same and it still gets regular software updates along with it still being one of the safest cars ever made the big difference is that my model 3 is paid for so the longer I drive it the better financial decision it becomes I'm sticking with my old model 3 for now but I guarantee the 2024 model 3 is going to be a huge success for Tesla let me know what you're doing are you going to get one are you not leave a comment below I would love to hear from you and thanks to recur for sponsoring today's video and thanks to Tesla for letting me enjoy and test out the new 20124 model 3 I will see you guys in the next one
