New Rifle Packages – The Real Gunsmith

good morning we're very excited to tell you about things that are happening here at Randy's custom rifles we're going to be offering several different package systems for rifles the first one going to describe it as our hunter rifle or international hunter rifle this is a rifle that will be provided in a smaller shorter very very heavy strong hard aluminum case that makes it easy to travel around the country around the world the rifle will be a breakdown rifle so we remove the two action screws there's a torque wrench provided and when the rifles put back together you'll use the torque wrench and bring it to a certain torque that way you can break down the rifle into two pieces you'll have the complete barreled action with the scope on it and the stock section you just simply take the two apart that creates us a shorter more compact situation to be able to travel in the in and out of airports and places like that it's a very term aresome to try to travel someplace with a long rifle case now I'll describe the described the rifle the rifle is going to be built around borden precision bold actions I want to describe this board in action from some detail this is the finest action made that is basically a footprint of a Remington 700 Jim Borden for many years competed competed in bench rest shooting and he came up with method to machine these actions when the bolt is closed there is absolutely no movement in the bolt in the receiver there are two areas right right be it one area right behind the locking lug locking lugs on the bolt another area head of the bolt handle there are raised areas there that when the bolt is pushed forward and it's locked down that it creates a totally wobble free bolt what this means folks is that when your wife was fired the bolt doesn't flop around in the receiver straighten itself up to line up with everything when their rifle is fired so everything is totally aligned these actions are precision CNC machined to very close tolerances by Jim and I don't think there's anything finer as far as precision goes for repeatability repeatability and precision as part of the accuracy game and my shop has always been an accuracy shop this is our 50th year in their 50th year of building custom rifles and in addition to to that action will be using heart stainless match quality rifle barrels heart rifle barrels of won matches all around the country for many many years they've been business for many many years a lot of people have learned from the hearts to build rifle barrels and I think that there's some of the very best barrels I've used every everybody's rifle barrels over the years and I think that heart barrels are some of the very finest rifle barrels it's been proven to me and the many rifles that I built using these barrels we'll be using Macmillan fiberglass stocks virtually everybody that's a hunter a shooter interested in in custom rifles of any any sort have certainly heard of the Macmillan's they're famous for making some of the very finest fiberglass stocks this particular stock is going to be is there is there hunter model this this stock has you know molded in checkering it's a molded in colors so there's no paint to scrape off the stock is virtually indestructible the stock has got a sloping lining Carlo tape Coleman it's got a good comfortable grip it's got the proper dimensions to be able to fit and we can basically you know give you the correct length to pull that you need correct trigger pull trigger to the end of the recoil pad these rifles and we'll install Randy's custom rifles muzzle brakes on these rifles all the rifles will come with with the muzzle brake and anyway the barrels will be 26 inches long with the brake you're going to have a 27 and 3/8 long barrel while I'm talking about barrels and since I'm talking in this area I'm going to talk about the calibers in this in this rifle 257 Weatherby 264 winchester 270 whether we seven millimeter by 300 Weatherby 300 Winchester Magnum 300 Weatherby Magnum 300 ultra magnus 338 ultra magnus we'll be loading Nosler occupied bullets for all these cartridge calibers the loading nozzle long-range a Cubans and some instances Nosler a coupons the bullets that we find to work the very best every rifle will be shot by myself loads will be worked up to each individual rifle and that load data in the target will be will be supplied to you the target will be signed and certified that the rifle shot that group by me there will be all the pertinent information that you need to duplicate those loads the rifle will come with 40 rounds of our loaded ammunition and in addition to that the rifle would be scoped the scope mounts will be léopold two-piece bases and rings the windage style rear wing ring specifically for a reason to keep the reticle centered in the scope these are long range long range rifles it's very important that we worked with the optical center of the scope there are a lot of mounts out there but there are very few that have the ability to give you gave you that ability to be able to Center up the optics in those mounts so that when you adjust your elevation that everything tracks in the center for repeatability the rifle would be scoped with a leopold leopoldovich d high definition HD stands for high definition of scope this is a 3 to 15 power scope it's a very excellent scope it has the CD s system custom dial system has a wind flex radical the wind flex is simply a horizontal wire graduated with hash every one inch graduations measured in a hundred yards left and right of center for wind correction so you simply can all dial your dial your scope to the specific yardage for the loads that we've worked up and has the ability to correct for wind I don't suggest that we shoot at long range at gain in a wind but perhaps if there's a small breeze or something and we know what it is we can correct for it but it's very impossible subtractive long range it may be something you know that your position where you're shooting but it's going to be entirely something different down down range and we feel that we feel that long range is not we describe long range says long range not extreme long range we think that five six seven hundred yards is an awful long poke and one of the reasons is that we have to have the available remaining energy to be able to properly take the animal with enough energy to provide a good clean quick humane kill and these rifles will be equipped with with Tim knee triggers Tim he's been building triggers for many many years and this this triggers are quite a trouble-free trigger it's not finicky as to is to dirt in two three and one thing another there are other triggers but I feel over the fifty some odd years that I've been using Tim knee triggers that I you know feel that this is the trigger for the rifle this isn't this is a hunting rifle but it's built to two high standards high accuracy standards everything about the build builders is is is correct and all the all the calibers that I have chosen are our calibers that are suitable for long-range shooting long-range shooting of deer antelope sheeps ice game and calibers as we work on up in the spectrum that are desirable for longer range specifically from seven millimeter by 300 Weatherby on up now we have cartridge calibers bullet weights we'll be using some of the heaviest bullet weights for caliber for the situation which delivers more energy I bless these coefficient bullets and using the very latest in the most modern powders and I'd like to switch back to I've mentioned I mentioned the scope Leopold Leopold has been building scopes for thing it's now either 70 or 75 years they know they know the optics business and they have really stepped forward here in just the past few years away from some of the normal scopes that we've become accustomed to over the years into some really swell scopes and basically I see them they they you know they start with this 5hd they've got a six HD and then they step up to the two scopes that in you know that are even a higher price scope we've we've chose the the one of the simplest systems as far as the scope goes for somebody to use and Leopold has a lifetime warranty they stand behind everything all compiled everything that makes this rifle build from the scope to the barrel to the action to the stock experience my experience and all all the experience why these manufacturers that manufacture these wonderful products to build a rifle like this there's over 350 combined years of of experience building these various products to make up this this rifle build now we're going to switch to our second build we're going to be building what we just described with our tactical rifle they'll be built with the same Borden action it will have a heart barrel that barrel will be L can be available either straight fluted spiral fluted or what you described was a diamond flute the grilles are all going to be 26 inches long with our same muzzle break this barrel is going to be a little heavier barrel it's going to be a Sendero eight barrel and this rifle we will be available from us at this point in time in two calibers and that'll be a 300 Winchester Magnum and 338 ultra Magnum these these two these two calibers for this tactical purpose will be loaded with with sierra matchking bullets specifically mystic sierra matchking bullets everything else about the build is the same except for the stock that will have a McMillan a three adjustable stock and this gives you the ability to adjust for your comb height and so forth to suit whatever your build may happen to be and it's a little heavier life--all this rifle also is a breakdown rifle this rifle comes in in the hard the same hard aluminum case so if you're going somewhere to travel to shoot and so forth it makes it easy for you to travel this rifle also comes with range tested ammunition by me certified basically I buy certified by signing the target that I shot that particular group and that particular day with those various various components to give you that type of accuracy and all instances we're looking for accuracy in the neighborhood of a half-inch perhaps better and that rifle will have the same identical scope as the other rifle that's the basic package there in addition we have several other other things that we offer with that rifle there is a video that comes with the rifle that shows you - how to properly properly bench bench rest your rifle it will be they'll be provided a video on how to properly handle your ammunition for your rifle and I have learned over many hundreds of conversations over the years that there are considerable areas that need to be attended to to be able to properly load ammunition to have consistent results one thing another and those details these details will be gone through and and explained in that video via video also with the hunter with the hunter rifle on loading your ammunition for yourself if you don't have no load ammunition they'll be provided information to you on where where to go and provide that data to somebody who's accustomed loads custom ammunition and has done it for many many years also there's another aspect with the hunter with the hunting rifle for the long range hunting rifle of be a detailed video on how to properly that's bench rest that rifle then beyond that detailed ideas and so forth on how to use that rifle in the field in other words if you're in a real hunting situation you're hunting elk let's say you're you traveled in the number of miles on horseback and you get off you get off your horses and you start hunting you locate game well one of the best best positions if it's available if you can get in a prone position maybe if maybe if some of the little bit shorter range is not the longer ranges maybe maybe sitting there maybe other positions you might be able to sit and rest rest over a log percent rest on a rock I suggest permanent permanent situations take available of the existing landscape the Train the make up of everything to use to get a rest of to shoot and there is an asset there is an aspect of the bipod and I've got some pretty kind of mixed feelings about bipod there's some there's some application there with the short bipod down low in perhaps maybe a prone position or something like that but there's also fly pods that can be extended considerably those by pods picked up a terrible amount of wobble and when the firing pin falls and strikes that turkeys just just just the the travel that furinkan sets up a vibration in those vibe iPods so I'm going to detail some of these situations that I suggest that I found over or my 54 years of big-game hunting in 50 years of building custom rifles for for the purpose and we we we feel that we have a very complete package here we feel that we are building the most accurate rifle that you can buy all details have been attended to especially especially after the complete rifle build the detail that we go through to work up individual load for each individual rifle this is not a one size fit all thing you know that somebody tries to tell you that you know that they've worked up a load and that they're like their rifles were shoot all this load that's just nothing sort of nonsense and I've seen some of these rifles I've talked to customers that have bought rifles under those size of circumstances and bought ammunition to go with the rifle real lucky if the wife will shoot two inch groups that's not what you're going to get there Randy's custom rifles they're going to get a top accuracy rifle that will shoot and provided you have some ability some ability as a shooter and do your part that's that's a very very integral part of the situation and so you you take on some responsibility yourself to take advantage of the precision package that we've provided you time frame wise you can probably expect the hunting rifles you know from the time your order rifle - you get it you can probably expect two to three months it may be longer it's gonna all depend on our our volume our workload the tactical rifle it's going to it's going to be longer it's going to be a longer wait it could be it could be in all month or two more than that it could be six seven months depending on everything that we have to get in-house to be able to build these rifles for the individual situation stocks actions barrels and everything probably the longest week is on earth because I'm the as on the stocks in some instances so you've got to understand you're ordering a custom rifle you need to wait that's just that's just been I'm going to be part part of the game to be able to order that rifle you can you can email and call Randy's custom life will start a little rifle and be all the information there the contact information that you need to need to do so and weren't we weren't familiar than that you know Remington Remington has ceased any production therein evidently a financial financial situation so we immediately had to step forward and continue this package and this is part of why we chose this this is this board this board in action it's better it's better in the long run because we don't have to work with something that we have to rebuild and
