hello and welcome to the video so a really really exciting video today actually um i'm down here at miltek's hq in derby not down it will be up for me because i live in down south um today i'm getting an exhaust fitted um so a big shout out and a big thank you to miltek for arranging this and allowing me to come to the hq to see everything which i'll show you later on in the video why am i getting an exhaust an exhaust fitted well as you know manufacturers are now basically killing cars from a sound perspective because of the regulations now requiring new cars to have opf filters valves to close at low revs if you didn't know already i have a valve controller fitted on this car to permanently keep the valves open so when i'm driving around town at low speeds the car is nice and loud if you want to watch that and you want to know why i've done that click up here to watch the video but naturally as a car guy i always want my cars to be a little bit louder not too loud so i don't have too much drone and i can still go on track days but i want to hear that naturally naturally aspirated lovely flat 6 engine so i've come down to miltek today we're getting a back box fitted which means that i keep my cats i keep my opf and i'm just removing the big fat massive muffler at the bottom why have i come down to miltek well i spoke to joe achilles and he was giving me a lot of good reviews and interesting um positive thoughts on his mil tech on his m3 so go check out his channel if you want to see an m3 g series g80 with a miltek exhaust right without further ado let's get into the video little behind the scenes here of the miltek youtube channel we've got josh the videographer just kind of getting some b-roll and he'll be doing some before and after revs of the car so head over to the miltek youtube channel to check that one out but i think we've got quite a nice picturesque location got the miltek nice banner with the car on the miltek um license plate but here's the behind the scenes the stuff you don't see there's basically like four units there's two mil tech units over there and then we've got all the shipping units over here so quite a big big place [Music] all right car is up on the ramp gonna the miltek guys work their magic but here we are this is the picturesque area that you usually see on miltek's instagram all of their fancy instagram shots usually taken by this man here josh very picturesque location um yeah it's it's awesome to be in here reminding me of my design and technology school days um here we go i've never seen the underside of my gt4 so this will be interesting not only to see the exhaust properly but see how much i've scraped the lower arrow going over speed bumps so john here is just starting to take some of the pieces off the car we've got to let the car cool down for a little bit because it is very hot it did take me two and a half hours to drive here so the exhaust is very hot but here are the pieces of the back box the muffler that is going on the car it's obviously not quite in the right configuration at the moment but this is the first time i've ever had an exhaust fitted on a car i never fitted an exhaust on the m2 so this is all very well and exciting this is quite interesting there's some magic going on in there and then we've got some exhaust tip options as well silver and black we're going to be putting on the car just to kind of see which ones i want to go for i may be going for the black tips just keeping it looking oem but i want to have a look at the silver tips as well just because it's a silver car um see what it looks like right so the back box is now off the car and we have run into some issues caymans and gt4s because they don't have an under tray protecting the exhaust they are susceptible to corrosion and basically these studs on the opf have corroded and snapped and it's happened on both sides which means that the miltek guys can't get these screws off the car and will mean that the car will have to stay here at miltek overnight they're basically going to need to remove the opfs take the wheels off remove the opf link pipes try and get these screws back off which is you know going to take hours put it all back on and then fill the back box so a bit annoying but the miltek guys are going to do everything they can yeah common common issue um it doesn't matter how many miles these cars have done because they're just open to the elements um it will just happen you know this car's only done seven thousand miles i've only owned it in the summer um yeah annoying but it is what it is [Music] right we ready this is a no backbox startup so [Music] that was hard work right say goodbye to the gt4 thank you by the way to all the guys at miltek for sorting this out massively appreciated go and give them a shout out go and check them out check them out josh is filming for the youtube channel today so go over to their channel yeah massively appreciated right that's an interesting turn of events firstly i apologize for the poor video quality my gopro hero 10 has died on me so we're using the hero4 yeah it's it's a little bit annoying um it is just a common issue on porsches that without an under tray the exhaust is open to the elements and it's just snapped so giving miltek a couple of days to sort that out get the bolts out um then they can refit the back box so instead miltek have lent me this ford fiesta ecoboost or st line i don't know my ford fiesta lines model lines that well miltek are gonna send me a text um in the next couple days so they can tell me what they've done to this car because this is their development car um and i might be able to film a review on it if i find the time so i'm heading back down south now i've got a two and a half hour drive ahead of me and then join me in a couple days time where i'm gonna be back up here again at miltek's hq in derby where i finish off and pick up my porsche gt4 with the uh miltek back box so i'll see you then and all right we have arrived we are back at miltek for you guys it's only been a couple seconds but for me it's been a couple of days in this ford fiesta st line one liter ecoboost hybrid it's been a fantastic car thank you guys miltek for lending me this car for a couple of days whilst they sort my car out i filmed a video on this as well so if you want to watch it click up here to kind of see my review my first impressions driving this miltek development ecoboost st line car it has a maxton design diffuser on it and a full gpf opf back miltek system where the two exhaust exits a standard fiesta only has one they've developed one with two exits you can also get one with a single exit so if you wanna watch that video click up here to watch it let's go and find my gt4 and go listen to the difference so here she is i'm gonna have to it's very loud in here so i'm gonna have to shout if you can't quite hear me i apologize but here she is finally off the ramp the guys made good use of time and installed the it's very loud and installed the exhaust whilst i was away these tips look mega i'm very happy that i went with the black tips we will go and get the silver tips the chrome titanium brushed ones just to have a little look um but i i wanted to go for an oem sort of finish and i think that suits that perfectly it also fills out the gap of the diffuser nicely the stock exhaust is this is wider in diameter these tips so the stock ones are a lot smaller i always didn't really like how there was such a big gap maybe we can see if we can get on the ramp and just have a look underneath but it looks really really good so here is my stock muffler you can see how ugly is such a big massive back box inside there would be a load of chicken wire a load of crap dampening the sound there are when you have the valves opened or closed you can see the valves here um it will still go through this massive black box and it'll still dampen the sound and so i'll overlay a miltek the miltek system that's currently on my car overlay a photo of it so you can kind of see the difference between the two um obviously it's now on the car so i can't show you guys but basically when the valves are open on the miltek system is essentially a straight through bypassing a back box and it's almost like an opf straight through out and then when you close the valves it goes through a muffler keeping it quiet so it's kind of the best of both worlds here we've got the brushed titanium tips which again actually look really really good and we'll just uh josh's back taking photos we'll just come and have a look next to what potentially could have been an option you can kind of see how it ties in quite nicely with the gt silver um but yeah i want me personally i want to keep it black just to kind of keep that whole section black and oem but these do look very nice and i think also would have been a great option for the gt silver car definitely if i wanted to go for the roast racia um spec this would make it very obvious that i had a lovely fruity exhaust on it right first start up on the channel here we go that's deep much much deeper it almost sounds like what the car sounded like without the back box it's deep that's quite as bow got some nice pops and bangs and bubbles coming through at the back now which is also fantastic so out here in the sun at the moment we've got the stock muffler on the ground you can see the valves we're going to wrap this up bubble wrap it try and get it in the passenger seat of my car where it should fit and i'll be keeping this system for when i sell the car i can revert it back to stock as i talked about this is a very heavy and ugly system and now it should be it is a much lighter system for miltek and i haven't picked this one up but watching the miltek guys carry this out here it looks very awkward to carry now a little bit more on the miltek system that's been installed it works with valves um so obviously we've got valves here on the stock system but i went with this system because when i'm going down the motorway i want to be able to close the valves if i'm in quiet areas or early in the morning i don't want to be waking up my neighbors i want to be able to close the valves and tone this car down and it has that option it can close the valves obviously when i open them it's basically a straight through system from the opf the link pipe and it gives it that fruitier deeper sound also if you're a frequent view of the channel you will know that i have a valve controller installed on this car um originally making this car just a little bit more interesting to drive around in um at slow speed so the valves are all permanently open this is this system has been able to work with the valve controller because the valve controller sits between um it's a cabling it's a it's a box um that sits in the cabling from kind of the ecu to the valves that control the valve so because it is quite hard to explain um because the miltek system is mechanically closing and opening the valves the the controller sits above it um so it doesn't affect and hasn't ha doesn't have to um incorporate any kind of consideration with the with the car graphic valve controller they're two separate systems think of the car graphic system as almost like the ecu it's an additional bit of software whereas the miltek system is a valved mechanical system so they're kind of two separate things i hope i explained that if that doesn't make sense let me know in the comments and i'll try and write it out in a better format right so josh is going to do a few revs valves closed then valves open we'll go for a spin um and yeah let's have a little listen was that valves open or closed closed oh jesus christ no no that's fine yeah go for open i can hear the difference now okay i would say valves closed is like the valves open on the stock car let's go for a spin valve controller stock let's go stock mode [Music] [Music] jesus it's fast forgotten how fast this is deary me [Music] i can make it from you can hear it coming out the back and that's with valves open in stock mode maybe if i could turn the valves permanently open can make it through [Music] little thrums [Music] burr balls trying to oh a few burbles trying to find where the bubbles are [Music] fourth four thousand revs now no [Music] now can't find the bubbles again [Music] oh it burbles when you when you go into neutral and change gear oh that's sick yeah there you go when you put your foot in to change gear and the revs drop that's when it burbles i almost can't tell if the valve control is working or not i can't tell which mode it's in anymore that's it open interesting i'm conscious of oh that gearbox i'm conscious the video is getting very long now so guys thank you very much for watching again a big shout out i don't know how many times i've said it but thank you very much miltek for lending me the curtsy car sorting this out inviting me down um let me drive the g82 m4 competition tuned to 650 bhp if you want to watch that video they let me drive it click up here to watch it big shout out again to miltek go check their youtube channel out for here i'm signing out we'll do a proper before and after comparison video in a couple days and i'll give you a proper maybe six months six month review of this exhaust for now guys like comment subscribe comment let me know what you think like it subscribe if you're new to the channel i'll see you later in the next video [Music] you
