New England Captures the Essence of Gravel Bike Culture | The "Newbury Blueberry" Route

[Music] no no gravel ride with Nikki and Caleb is complete without a good Porter John you seemed like shocked there was one here I actually used I've used this one before I knew this was here and it was led oh lovely all right let's get going dude Pro tip if you see a porter on at a elementary school it's taken care of well taken care of it's wellmaintained that thing was gorgeous I like this little town yeah it's very relaxing little place all right happy spring welcome back to the channel if you're new I'm Caleb in front of me is the always hilarious always hungry Nikki we're just getting out for a nice gravel ride just over the border into Vermont from our home state of New Hampshire in a nice little area the town of Newberry short drive beautiful scenery we're about to get get into some gravel here so let's get this ride [Music] started I was going to wait to start really filming till we hit the gravel but I mean come on come on come on New England I love it here n that that's got your theme all over right there creepy Halloween stuff in May uh I think it stays up year round yeah I'm pretty sure that does stay up year round there this is a sweet little area I didn't even know this Lake was on the route I built the route this morning but it was a very quick 5-minute build nice hello New England gravel season how you doing guys that looks nice [Music] [Music] what a day man if I there a candle Merry Christmas little binder get organized Trapper Keeper o I say you just found a new riding shirt my dude I definitely think you just found a new 100% paully this one is this a vest oh that's a riding vest all day let's ride it looks legit for some reason I don't know how a good downhill wow oh man I'm I'm pretty bummed you didn't fully commit I thought you're fully committed to to that owning that thing actually I actually thought it was cool looking which shows don't take style advice from [Music] Caleb wow wow I just can't believe how perfect it is out right now this is unbelievable sorry I got to stop and just kind of taking a [Applause] [Music] view this is the birds you can smell the Honeysuckle and the Lilac unbelievable if you have never ridden in New England especially like Northern New England Vermont Northern New Hampshire White Mountain area where we are uh there's really no place like it it's there's something Serene and calm and and just it doesn't even feel real especially in the spring it just I mean tell me that looks like a looks like something somebody drew you know from their imagination but it's real people and every day I am beyond grateful to call this place home and I'm also Beyond grateful to share it with people uh from all around the world now hopefully I do a good job of sh sharing my my heart with you guys and how much I love it here and how much Nikki loves it here I hope I do it justice I [Music] [Applause] guess this is a celebratory Day by the way what do we cting do you know why no I'll give you one guess I think you're going to nail it I think you're going to nail it I literally can't think of anything I did last well we're in New England okay yes you are and it's sunny there's blue skies and it's sunny we have had probably the grayest season since about this time last year winter was insane I mean like I forgot that we had a sun and on a day like today it's pretty inspiring to make a video on a day like today so this is the one day of the year that new englanders get to get a tan and vitamin D so everybody that lives in New England make sure you soak it [Music] up well Kyle's hanging down there in the shade next to the watering hole it's hard to see probably in the camera there's two there's one like right into the shadow there cows look like they have like a great life up until probably the slaughtering thing but that would just seem very [Music] [Applause] content had to do stop and do a little break repair there I know something was going on with the cable what we go for snacks today Nature's Bakery brownie these things are actually delicious oh and we have straw or strawberry raspberry also oh is that the same company oh I didn't realize that those are amazing yeah you can buy them in the box at the grocery store which makes them very cheap I am cheap it's like a healthy Fig Newton there's no weird preservatives no weird seed oils nothing bizarre like that good little punch of energy too I think like 280 calories and we're about halfway through this ride and we're going the wrong way so we got we're going the wrong way yeah good point got go that way at least you know where we're going working hard now thing about the other thing about riding in New England is you're pretty much guaranteed a minimal of 1 M for 100 ft of gain so when the hills show up they show up with a little bit of Vengeance yeah you get your climbing legs that's for sure all right we just topped out but the fun thing about climbing up is you get to rip some fun down a little red a little chy [Music] awesome this is really cool in here wow I love how I don't know it's like you can go to some places with big vast views like I don't know maybe Colorado Montana whatever but you're very much in that view for a long period of time which is great it's beautiful it's just different but here it's like your view is just changing constantly you have this like collage of Landscapes mixed together within just a few miles so it's it's always interesting to your mind like your mind is always like oh look at that look at that look at this huge hill that I'm trying to talk while climbing up holy crap it's getting hot up too this this [Music] [Music] think noise [Music] I'm guessing they do some kind of pizza night or something that'd be pretty sweet to come here hey little guys look like a little guinea hens oh [Music] [Music] if you do this route I'll post the link to the to the actual rout for the Ride with GPS file but if you do this R you stop at the Newberry General Store they've got like a nice little like baked goods good sandwiches at the deli cold drinks no iced coffee though but no it's coffee but maybe they'll get there someone just purchased this building yeah it's it's a all girl owned business which is pretty cool I think they just bought it recently because it's definitely a different own and you know what we are speculating I literally just saw a sticker on the door this could be just okay so Nikki may just be feeding you information that's not even true um you took that and ran with it but they also have a a cool ice cream stand next door it just seems like it's a really cool place we stop here every time we're here and then you just get to chill in their backyard which is so cool um and just look at the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire so that's New Hampshire but we're in Vermont so pretty cool yeah it's an awesome [Music] spot oh that's looking good looking real [Music] good good m oh my Lord 3 minutes 5
