NEW Druid Class Changes In The War Within Alpha! Feral, Balance, And Restoration Talent Updates

hello guys how's it going my name is Al the war within Alpha has officially launched as of yesterday with many diving head first into the newest expansion content as part of some early testing and over the next few weeks we're going to see even more Alpha builds rolling out over time as they do more focused testing for each one of the four zones of Caz algar featuring additional class changes along the way as more and more her TS become implemented with demon Hunters Rogues and shamans look a little bit more bare for the time being this very first alpha build however is already filled to the brim with new class changes with many play Styles reworks already in the process and one of the more popular wild classes of the Druid is seen some significant changes both to its class tallent Tre as well as the individual changes for the specs of feral boomkin and restoration as it is Alpha this is definitely by no means the final product and there probably going to be even more class changes for Drs to come going forward but for now I want to take a closer look at some some of the most significant changes comeing to the class of Druid as part of our war within alpha coverage and 10 to7 season 4 or any of the future War within updates let's start off this class update by going over the Druid class tree the Basic Druid class tree contains all of the primary benefits for this hybrid class whether you're looking to increase your survivability when shifting into bare form sharpen your claws for damage in cat form deal range damage with Boomin spells or effectively heal your allies and help them recover for a brief moment when using restoration spells and the original talentry was meant to deliver on that hybrid fantasy to let you decide which part of the Druid kid you want to specialize in while it won't be as effective as full-on tank and as a guardian Druid you should still fairly fortified when picking up your bare Focus talents the dragon flight's Talent tream was a good step forward in that direction to try to give Druids a bit of that hybrid feel but your experience would vary from spec to spec so the talent TR in war within is seen significant changes to help deliver on that promise to start things off the melee range of the cat form is being increased by three yards past massively without the need for astral influence Talent which makes hybrid catw weaving a little bit more convenient for all four specs you will also notice that the vast majority of Druid talents in the class stre have been shifting around a bit with talents such as feline swiftness remove corruption wild growth hibernate soothe cyclone and even renewal becoming a little bit easier to access while also making the vast majority of druid's talents cheaper to Talent into which allows for better investment into more of those utility skills for you to better Define your chosen play style we've also seen an introduction of new talents such as fluid form to better capitalize on that hybrid gameplay abilities such as shred and rake cannot be used in any form and will instantly shift you into a cat form when used the same goes for mangle which shifts you into bear while wrath and Starfire will instantly shift you into your moonit form if you're talented into it fluid form is a fantastic new option for Druids which remove moves a lot of that friction when it comes to picking up the Druid for the very first time instead of spending an entire Global just to transform into an animal form before you can start engaging in combat you can now do so more easily for a fluid experience which is going to be a must have of feral Duds and guardi Druid specifically because they have some brand new gameplay regarding one of their hero specs that allows for Druid weaving or bear weaving in combat as for the specific spec changes let's start off with feral Druids which are going to be seen a number of changes which includes new talents Talent removals but also restructure of the resource generation starting off feral Duds are meant to be a slower more methodical energy based class than that of Rogues or monks for instance throughout dragonlight the spec however has gotten faster and faster and you never really get a moment to pause for your energy to recover or to let your damage over time abilities take for a little bit in war within feral is going to become more limited in it energy use to recapture that slower thoughtful play style that separates it from the rest this is primarily highlighted with removal of predators reset on abilities such as Tiger's Fury ferals will also get a lot of new talents such as coiled spring where if you over generate col points which happens quite often those would have been wasted resources now go on to buff your next bite or Primal wrath by 10% which is a nice quality of life Improvement razor claw Mastery for feral JS has also been adjusted to include all of cat form bleeds but also other periodic effects so if you want to customize your feral Dr with some hybrid abilities such as Moonfire for instance it'll be much more potent as a skill for ferals to use in war within then we have talents such as taste for blood which will no longer scale with the number of blades but instead will simply buff the damage of your bite by 15% and by 15 additional per inside of Tiger's Fury Windows these changes also include a baseline damage bus for the class of feral as well as separate damage increases for all of their Comm Point ability Generations which is hopefully going to give ferals a little bit more of a consistent feeling the energy region aspect I think is going to be one of the biggest qualifiers that players are either going to love or hate but historically feral has always been a slower spec that's a little bit more punishing to play so think of it as a moreover return to form from older versions of feral Droid but now supplemented with brand new hero talents which which I would love to test once we get invited to the alpha on this channel besides feral dud we also get some Boomin specific changes with the main goal here to open up the number of builds that droids can experiment with but also tuning some of their resource generation similar to that of a feral Droid to start things off talents such as primordial arcanic Pulsar are being removed in the war within as it's fairly inconsistent to play with it forces Druids into a 40 to 45 second burst window and PR ize other cool Downs within a similar range but also this window can easily shatter if the Droid isn't able to consistently generate and spend resources and that's an aspect they sometimes don't have a control over because of things such as fight mechanics or intermissions or even simply things like dungeon Mythic plus pacing overall the astral power generation is been reduced in the war within as well but the damage is being compensated by more than enough to make sure their cooldowns are hitting harder than ever before Boomin also get a new Talent of Greater alignment to further bolster Celestial alignment make it last 40% longer while also increasing the eclipse damage of either Eclipse by 5% each Stellar amplification is going to cause star surge targets to take additional damage from your dots as well as periodic effects such as shooting stars for 5 seconds and you can extend this debuff up to a maximum of 20 seconds at a Time Harmony of the heavens causes star Surge and Starfall to increase your current Eclipse Affinity damage by 1% sacking up to five times which will make Druids want to bank up some of the astral power ahead of time touch of the cosmos causes wrath and Eclipse a chance to make an next star surge free while casting Starfire in Eclipse to make a next star fall free with umbrell inspiration consume an umbrell Embrace causes the damage of your Moonfire Sunfire shooting stars and Starfall to be increased by 20% for 5 seconds which will overall result in some sizable damage increase for balance Druids while adding a little bit more rotational interactions the fter spe scen significant changes in war within is restoration Droid and for war within the wish to prune the number of key binds that it takes for a player to pick up restoration while also buffing the base power of the ability of Rejuvenation while also incorporating heart of the wild as a talent much better into the Restoration Druid gameplay especially if you're looking to changee those hybrid play Styles which are very very popular in expansion of dragonlight part of this keybind prune will be to remove the ability of adaptive swarm but replacing it with Call Of The Elder Druid which allows Druids to gain access to Heart of the wild for 10 seconds after shifting into an animal form or from Casting Star surge as a Boomin hybrid Droid and to further help encourage restoration Druids embracing that hybrid play style a new Talent is being introduced called dream of scenarios which causes wrath Starfire shred and swipe to transfer their damage into direct healing on a nearby Ally further buffing that hybrid potential the talent of thriving vegetation will cause reu to instantly heal an Aly for a portion of all periodic healing to make Rejuvenation a little bit more of an active ability rather than something that's necessary as part of a big overall ramp up while also increasing the Base Healing of a large portion of restoration D's abilities by a fairly significant amount to make sure that even if they are a heal overtime spec that they can feel more impactful as soon as damage starts going out but for now that's going to be everything we got so far behind the newest Druid changes it seems that boomkin and Ferell are looking to take a step back while restoration is going to lean in further into the hybridization very excited to test out some of the bear and Druid weaving that pharohs and Guardians are going to be able to do with one of
