what is happening everybody TC here with Smoky Mountain Knife Works smkw.com got the one and only man massage how about that but I appreciate being here and we're going to have a lot of fun we got a lot of knives on the table and we're about to talk about them right now right now let's Light It Up [Music] Mari we've got a lot of knives on the table and we were just talking about these so right um a lot of the families and I guess that's that is that how you refer we call them families some people make fun of us that way I'm like well it is kind of a family of knives right they absolutely are so families within handle materials yes and you've got different patterns within the family within the family yeah absolutely perfect sense right absolutely yeah it does to me yes um and so we've got a lot of families here that um maybe weren't complete families right that maybe have had babies well um yeah that's a good way to put it too yeah so uh the families have been extended like we've brought new members into uh some of these families and we're going to go over that uh right here well in 2022 as you remember we talked about it you know we with covid we were trying to catch up our business has never been better so that that is great it also presented some huge challenges you know we couldn't get enough people Demand with soaring so we reeled it in and right before we launched our 2022 catalog we took some patterns out of production so when you looked at our Cayenne bone for example it was going to be a seven night family right at the very end it became a three night family we didn't have time to Pivot and make those others we look at the green and black Micarta when you look at all sorts of we didn't get a chance to kind of kind of build out the rest of the line in the new catalog so one of the things that we did for 2023 was we Revisited those and we're like okay these product families were fantastic but they only had two or three knives we're like man a case family uh you know we don't want an orphan out there so so what we did is we really worked to uh to kind of build out the families and you're going to see within the patterns that we're continuing to produce right and we talked a little bit about when we were talking about the Vault pattern we're going to start reintroducing some of those in 23. the patterns that we kind of took a pause on uh again not the vaults but the ones that we put out of production but what we wanted to do was look at our bone stack we took a lot out of bone stack look at our smooth antique and look at the things that we could go back in and kind of kind of revisit uh so that's what you're going to find so that's going to be that's going to be a little bit larger Stockman and the bone stagger we make the 18. uh that 47 Stockman's good this is one of our favorites obviously we make a Trapper in everything but we're doing a warn Cliff version of the bone stag Trapper again just to really really kind of give us a little more a little more excitement so in the bone stag in addition to the Vault pattern which I guess by the time this one goes we've already the cat's out of the bag it's that 68 Congress at small Congress so when you've got a lot of those sprinkled in through here we've got the Patriotic here tonight that's being added to that family so and those are going to be in in most everything so in the bone stag you're going to find that worn Cliff Trapper you're going to find the little 44 Stockman this is a medium Stockman Square bolstered uh you're also yeah you're going to see that one you're going to find this uh 47 this is the this is the frame of the Muskrat so it's a little bit bigger than the 3 and 5 8 inch 18 I think it's three and seven eighths but it's a little meteor we just call this a stock minute it's on a medium Stockman it's just a Stockman um one of the things we're doing as well on our blue G10 this is probably the only family in the catalog that kind of got a makeover you know it's different item numbers uh basically it did really really well a lot of folks weren't really I don't know if they didn't like it as well or they you know the way the badge Shield was in there the badges with the X's you weren't sure if it was right side up or upside down so we kind of changed that it's the same it's got the satin finish bolsters and Blades it's got that Diamond Double X Shield so this is going to be a Workhorse that blue G10 I don't know about you TC but it's it's so vibrant it really really looks great so you're going to find that available we got obviously the Trapper and the canoe that you've got we got the medium Stockman we're going to have that in a mini Trapper as well as a mini copper lock and a toothpick so so and you know we were talking in the last video we did the one that we did about the Congress knife and we were talking about I mentioned how with my family [Music] the yellow synthetic was like the the workman's knife and I think this is a great addition to that case workman's knife that that pocket knife that you know that blue collar guy is going to put in his pocket not worry about you know what the moisture or what the hard work is going to do to the handle because I mean yes the bone is going to hold up but that's one that's kind of special right right you got to think about what goes into making you know these jig bone and yes like the buffalo horn right and that kind of stuff so you you kind of are a little more cautious with those but that's something that you can take out and you can put to work and you're not going to worry about you know the handle material you can kind of use it and abuse it I think that's why a lot of those modern and those EDC the modern EDC knives use Micarta so to me it's really neat to see that on a slip joint uh the Micarta you know we did the green and black so we added a couple more of those uh we've got both that this is the Moose Stockman the big 75. uh we got the mini copper locks so you've got a couple of those working on your camera there so we're going to be adding that you know we we have the the small Congress in that as well um so you're going to see that when you look at the and that one's in the two blade version right there yes and then also in the black Micarta to make sure we get all these uh we're gonna have again this is this is adding to the black myocardial line which was new last year you're going to have the two bladed version of the small 68 Congress you're gonna have the medium toothpick and then you're going to have this 44 Stockman again we call that a medium Stockman it's got that square uh kind of square bolster squared ends uh this is a great I love it I love carrying that knife it's a good it feels good in your pocket and it does it does extremely well so Micarta blue G10 we've got the the green and black we've got the black Micarta and you're going to see that you're going to see things that we do that kind of blend in some of these modern materials which is good you know nothing says that probably more than Keira Knight when you look at Keira Knight we're adding a couple we're going to add the canoe you're going to see the canoe in several things and we're also adding the peanut that to that blue pearl karenite just good looking stuff a lot of people love those those peanuts oh absolutely like it carries yeah um and then of course we got the Patriotic here night with the four blade Congress and the the Stockman right there that 44 medium Stockman uh these kind of look alike when they're on the table uh but obviously obviously just the profile and everything is completely different four Blade versus a three blade so uh very very nice in there again all these are going to come out hopefully in the first quarter of the year so we're trying to get as many of our new products uh collectors had to be patient with us last year we didn't have as many new things early uh we're trying to correct that we're we're still behind I mean I make no mistake I'm a little anxious about talking to Tyler and Josh a little bit but we're still behind but we're gaining ground and we realized that after kind of a year pause we really needed to really needed to make sure that we kind of come back strong with some new products we talked about Abalone we talked about the beauty of that four-bladed Congress also the peanut we're going to put that back in Abalone it's been Abalone previously but as we rotate patterns through there that's been out one of the things go ahead well I was going to say one of the things that I'm really excited to see first off yes is this buffalo horn folding Hunter yes I mean we we've talked about how near and dear the folding Hunter is to my heart because of my dad right um but I love seeing it in the buffalo horn I mean that's just a really gorgeous handle material and uh I mean just a beautiful knife right there and then another one in that uh folding Hunter is very interesting and a little bit different right is this one here with the red synthetic and that's a single blade that's a single that's our American Workman knife and uh you know you're going to see a lot of those you're going to see a lot of those that have this has got carbon blades in it so you're going to see you're going to see those uh the single blades typically will not have a sheath so again I always refer to our buddy uh Tony but he would call that you know we made a back pocket but he's like when a knife's that big you carry it in your back pocket so it's maybe not a front pocket knife you're going to see another carbon version actually two more in that folding Hunter you're going to see a red bone this is our red bone CS as well as an Amber bone so we're going to have a couple of those these are two bladed they will come with a sheath kind of as a rule of thumb not always but if it's too bladed it's going to have a sheath if it's single blade it's meant to carry in your pocket so so that that that's pretty cool there rounding out some of that buffalo horn we're going to add a canoe to that and we're also going to add an 18 Stockman so just a couple of great things that buffalo horn I'm with you man when we lost stag we were like you know what is that what is some sort of unique and and high quality material uh when we found buffalo horn and we're able to jig it and kind of work with it yeah that's it now I don't know if there'll ever be a true replacement for genuine Stag and a bigger knife uh but I can tell you the buffalo horn is just fantastic and continues to be that's gorgeous and I tell you what with me having my history working with livestock and um also my personal disdain for Buffalo um and bison in general in their attitudes I love seeing them on the horns on the night it's very satisfying for me to see that yeah um so yeah absolutely and I think it's gorgeous it makes a beautiful you may not like the animal it makes a beautiful handle so there's a lot of animals that way we're like I don't know about that but I can tell you it makes it looks good on a night the Cayenne bone that was new last year we had a really a limited offering in Cayenne we only had three patterns last year one being the Vault so we've got the Vault pattern we're also going to have the canoe the sod buster Junior uh and that Cayenne is just a rich it's it's orange but it's uh I don't know it's got some yellow in it yeah it really uh it really looks super nice it's beautiful and I gotta say you know obviously other than the side Buster I love the bolsters I love the detail accents on the bolsters I think that really sets it off um and it's it's so intricate because that's you're talking about double lines on the side of the X's yeah and that doesn't really come across and video but it takes a little bit more work to do that kind of work and this and I told someone the other day like oh can you just engrave that I'm like that actually goes in in production so there's a point in production where they stop they take it they embellish that and then they finish it that's why they're they're so intertwined to the handle material and not like a surface etch that you might see on a lot of things so this is that o32 Stockman that's a that's a great little knife again in the video you can really see the yellow and the orange in there you're going to see that with a small Texas toothpick and I'm with you that we call I call them yag lasered bolsters it's a fiber laser that does that but it's a it is really really nice you got a mini Trapper also a toothpick um um so we've got the gray Pocket worn which is and that's carbon that's carbon steel over classy yeah I mean just a super classy looking blade right there so that is uh that is really good you got a rust lock in that as well uh single blade rust lock for all you rust lock lovers out there uh these are just super fantastic knives and I love the pocket you know the pocket worn is that feels right right away it's got that extra hand finishing uh you know I don't think I've ever seen any knife pattern so polarizing as the rust as a rust lock that's your slip joint guys like some of them absolutely love it think it's the greatest thing and then some people absolutely hate it it's like that's an Abomination what well a lot of times and I've seen this the first time you put a rust lock in somebody's hand it is very awkward yeah you're like they're trying to get like I'm like scares me to death after you after you actually it's one of those fidget knives kind of in your pocket you kind of get really good at it but once you do that it's become second nature it was our our version of a one-handed opener um back before we made any modern knives or anything else exactly it kind of has a flipper you know this was this was modeled after an old straight racer yeah so it had that flipper that original flipper maybe you'd call it but that's going to be available one antique you've got the one in in the gray Pocket worn as well so you're going to see a lot of those patterns those favorite patterns kind of making a reintroduction in some of these we're going to add to the blue series with the uh just the trademark Shield that is the navy blue we got a medium toothpick again your favorite uh mini copper lock yes and a sod buster Junior in bone it is a game changer you know you look at a sod buster and it's a Workhorse then you put it in bone man it classes it up it's so nice it is it is awesome but all those in Navy you're going to see those additions to the line um we've got some of the purple with the ixa shield we've got the Slimline Trapper we also got that little 33 that's a that's a great little size nice a little bit smaller than the Congress so this is going to be maybe a touch smaller than a toothpick even but three blades hey yeah you can take it out my friend you can go out there and uh exactly three options it's kind of like uh kind of like a lever action was for shooting yeah you can sharpen it on Friday and cut stuff all week all week all week so so it's good I love it in Pocket worn you're going to see a couple more so this is our Mediterranean blue pocket one one of my favorite colors it is just super nice you've got that with the rust lock and also the peanut was added back to that line that line was new in the catalog uh last year we didn't have to make as deeper cuts on that because it was really a core list but you're going to have those you're going to have in addition to the Vault pattern and the smooth Chestnut bone you're going to have that Medium toothpick that was one that we left in the line when we were looking at patterns this was a fishing knife and this was also used in so many cool things we're like and we really need to hang on to that for the production side right so we've got that um the smooth antique these are just these are as classy as it gets I think in classic oh yeah uh the smooth antique bone you got the bomb shield with the case long tail C you've got this moose Stockman that's 75. and man working around the country at events and shows everybody loves the 75 oh yeah they're all about it and then that slim line that Slimline Trappers single blade uh really narrow in your pocket but a great you know this is there's a bunch of names for this knife too again again it's uh it was good downtown uh in places and you know it's got a it's a farmer's knife but it's also it may be a Saturday night knife too I don't know not a Sunday morning but a Saturday night night um we've got we talked about the folding Hunter um we talked a little bit about the American workmen but we're adding a warn Cliff mini Trapper so you're going to have that warm Cliff mini Trapper there and again you're going to see that moose pattern so for all you 75 pattern collectors out out there we took care of you on this but you're gonna you're gonna see these quite a bit I love that stars and stripes shield in there yeah you're going to see a little bit more of a satin finish on a lot of our a lot of these but these are carbon so one of the changes we made a year before last I guess is American Workman and everybody's like why is that not in carbon I'm like that's a really good question yeah that's a very legitimate question so we kind of reworked that line and and we did that and then of course that one right there oh this is speaking of 75s I feel like there's a theme going here but this is our Star Spangled this is natural bone it is deep carved it is hand colored um you know every blue-blooded American need needs one of these but you know this has got smooth natural on the on the pile side we call the back side the pile side and on the front side you've got just those beautiful well there's nothing prettier in American flag so yeah that right so that that is a beautiful beautiful knife and people a lot of people I talk to carry this knife it looks like one you'd put away they're like no no I'm I want people to know what I stand for and who I am and and that's a great candidate for some somebody that loves to do scrimshar always like that on the back side like maybe as a commemorative knife for someone or something like that I think that's a great great option right there uh 100 so you'll also see things we added a Slimline to the spark Series this is that single bladed Slimline Trapper to that white it's white jig synthetic with that Sparks kind of that blinging shield on it uh that one does well everywhere it is uh the Moose Stockman we added that in stainless we've had it in carbon in our catalog um you know Carbon stainless it's a preference if you if you want a sharp knife you don't want to put a lot of care into it stainless is your is your thing if you want to work with it every day and you're going to you're going to kind of treat the blade you're going to season it and then you're going to just sharpen it then carbon certainly is great but but that's stainless we get a lot of people that are good with that uh Caribbean Blue we talked about adding the mini copper locked into that Caribbean Blue so a lot of copper lock and mini copperlock fans out there also adding that back to the red pocket worn I I guess I've been at case too long we were talking about adding that I'm like guys I remember the item number from this came out this was this and stag were the two variations of red pocket-worn mini copperlocks when it was introduced it was in two handles red pocket worn and genuine stag um and that was there so this is been out but obviously it's been away for a long time so we're bringing that back out we look at the orange synthetic this is really we talked about yellow but orange is really yeah taking hold as well mini copperlock and that two-bladed Congress there so you're going to have more options there and TC I think that's most of them man again if we didn't talk about the Vault pattern it is in most of these animal materials now when can we expect to see these additions to the so I would expect there'll be some that start hitting stores in your store and your website at the end of January uh there'll be a lot in February um the only ones and just in talking to our planning department uh the blue G10 is likely going to be late March um there's a couple other you know the red some of these large folding Hunters uh it's tough to get big material and you know they often tell us they said you know I can make you three pocket knives to every one of these what do you know so much I'm like well we need them but maybe we make some Trappers first so uh so we're working through some of that but yeah in the first quarter you should really see nearly all of our new catalog items starting to hit stores and shelves and websites and things like that so um it's a it's a it's a feast it's a feast of of families right A Feast of family um it's a family feast yes yes it could be Thanksgiving over over a knife table but uh again a lot of great stuff you're going to see more great stuff from us we're doing we're coming back to a spring promotional catalog these will be short run items that we do in the spring we're working on a summer working on Fall working on holiday you're going to see some of your favorite patterns starting to inch back in um man we are ready to put covid and the pandemic behind us I know everybody is for a lot more important reasons than than what we have but yeah let's move on let's move on and we even tell that like we're still behind them like people don't hear that anymore come on come on so uh we're doing great we're still hiring people U.S manufacturers tough uh we're hiring people we're investing in equipment and Technology um you know some of the things that we're looking at in technology 15 years five years ago they'd be like no wait our our Craftsmen are like if there's something you can do that's going to help me out they've been working mandatory over time every other weekend for two years wow and they're like you know hey if we can't get people if you can if there's something you can do that's going to help you know get me to a point where I can do it better so on the fabrication side which is where we make a lot of the components we're looking at you know some new technology and stuff like that but when it comes down to the fit finish and the and all the stuff um nobody can do that like a case Craftsman so so that's not going away uh we just got to get them some help somewhere because it's we've been swimming uh up to here up to here and we appreciate the patience of obviously Smokey and everybody that supports you guys um because product has not come out as quickly frequently or as often as any of us would have liked but it's not for lack of trying I promise you that no we we understand we've uh we've all been in the same boat rowing together for a while yes or so yes sir Maureen thank you so much a lot of great stuff and this will be on your website pretty soon so absolutely somebody likes it man you hit that notification right and it shows up and they get notified and you got latest and greatest absolutely folks stay tuned because these are going out very very soon you're gonna see him check it out absolutely [Music]
