Neighbors react to killing of Las Vegas community peacock

well neighbors are still reeling from the killing of a beloved peacock in a gated community this happened Monday afternoon near Charleston and Cimarron folks in the Castlegate Community refer to him or did as well as Pete the peacock people who live there tell 8 news now reporter Laura negretti he was killed by a bow and arrow we do want to warn you some of these images are disturbing [Music] it was right here at the skate behind me that neighbor Felicity Carter scooped up Pete the peacock and rushed him to the hospital the streets of Castlegate a little quieter and less colorful since his passing a sound already deeply missed who would do this to him who would shoot him Carter says Pete was a pet of a neighbor who's out of state he was laying up against the fence he had an arrow sticking out of him I was totally shocked Lone Mountain Animal Hospital sent me his x-rays the arrow still lodged unfortunately the peacock could not be saved I literally just started bawling my head off because I just was so mad I just because it was senseless it was just a totally senseless crime and no word on who did this this entire block is outraged the phrase empty nesters takes on a new meaning for the community reporting from the West Valley Lauren negretti 8 News Now and if you know anything about the incident please contact Las Vegas animal protection services the person responsible could face animal cruelty fines as well as possible jail time
