NCAAF 2021 Week 01 St. Andrew's vs Presbyterian

good afternoon from eden's field at martin stadium on the campus of presbyterian college in clinton south carolina for today's college football matchup between the presbyterian college blue hose and the saint andrews knights good afternoon i'm tyler sugar and it is opening saturday of college football across the country a few games last week but this the opening week for most teams across the country and we're ready to get started and it's a new era of presbyterian college football and st andrews football both teams have brand new head coaches including presbyterian whose coach you see there on the screen kevin kelly who's been billed as the coach who never punched bill belichick said he was one of the best high school coaches in the country he proved that last year with a 13-0 record a nine state championships at the high school level coming through coming here to pc over 200 wins in 18 years as you see he was the national coach of the year a big time coach a lot of folks have been talking about this and been building this up and a great group here to see coach kelly make his debut today for presbyterian should be interesting to see how this goes big analytics guy uh and over on the other side of stephen harris who has been an assistant coach and an associate head coach over at st andrews got promoted to a head coach his offenses have ranked nationally in first downs per game and rushing yards per game as you see nine mid-south all-conference players has an associate head coach so a new era for both of these teams gets started here today as you see we get ready to get started here from clinton south carolina the blue hose are running out on the field now the knights will join them here in just a second and we'll have some football here from clinton andrews number five monty williams a really good linebacker 75 tackles during the spring season five tackles for a loss a force to be reckoned with on the defensive side of the football for the saint andrews knights for presbyterian it'll be their quarterback riley wren hefley who transferred in from michigan in the off-season a red shirt sophomore who played for coach kelly at in brian arkansas at pulaski so we'll see what he brings to the table today the new presbyterian college quarterback as we get ready to get started here in the 2021 fall season of football here on espn plus we're getting ready for kickoff waiting on the final signals here for the referees kickoffs getting ready to take place and we'll be underway here from clinton south carolina college football back happy college football opening saturday everybody let's play some football pc coach kelly of course known as the coach who doesn't like to kick some new kickers for presbyterian and st andrew is expecting the onside kick and that's what they get in presbyterian college has recovered the onside kick but let's see if they're going to say if he touched it too early they say it crossed the line presbyterian college starts the 2021 season with an onside kick they get the recovery and it's first down a presbyterian so coach kelly living up to the billing as not liking the kick let's see if it crossed the line that's that's going to be really close i don't know uh they're going to say first down presbyterian that's the referee explaining it but i can't hear him i don't think anybody can yes they'll say first down presbyterian so what an exciting start to the coach kelly era here at pc they start with an onside kick and presbyterian will have the football and that'll bring out the starting quarterback number 12 were in hefley and there you see your starting lineups of course will be across the bottom of your screen here in a few minutes brought to you by sunbelt reynolds sunbelt reynolds starting lineups all right hefley in the gun to start two wide receivers to each side this offense is going to move quickly you're going to notice that uh across the time here today it's heavily in the shotgun he'll hand it off to star to go to the right side a gain of a couple for del vecchio powell had a pretty good spring season 77 carries 311 yards a couple of times one touchdown rushing two receiving and there is wren heffley from brian arkansas takes the handoff looks to sling it out he'll make his first pass and that is going to be caught over on the left side by number 19 john witcher so witcher makes the catch and it's a first down for presbyterian as you can see there to the line quickly he tried to ball it but he got the foot down so first down blue hose right at the st andrew's 40-yard line definitely gonna pitch it out to powell powell gets to the corner you're going to get up to the 30-yard line where he's brought down that's a pickup of about 10 and that's going to be another presbyterian college first down just a quick pitch out powell gets out there in space finds a hole cuts it up field and another first down hefley now taking the snap rolling out to his left looking to throw back across the middle of field he's got a man out there and that's going to be caught down inside the 10-yard line by carrion turner the senior out of orange park florida has a catch and there presbyterian's gonna have first and goal looks like at the 10-yard line they're going to set the change let's see if they can pick up a first down i don't believe they will yes it'll be first and goal first and goal presbyterian this quick strike offense build as such from coach kevin kelly hopefully he'll take the snap looking to throw slings it out to powell at the 10. powell makes a move he's at the five he's inside the five down to the one-yard line and it's gonna be second goal pc at the one take another look at it here just to pass out and he makes a man miss great job by powell making the man miss gets a shoestring tackle from behind first or second goal pc from the one-yard line man in motion heavily looking to throw across the middle got a man wide open in the end zone and that's a quick touchdown for pc as lawson match dealer makes the catch in the end zone for a touchdown the wide receiver 6-3 sophomore at augusta georgia standing wide open in the back of the end zone and matchhelder has the touchdown and presbyterian up and as field pc going to go for two five wide receivers said they'll sling it out and he's going to be stopped short of the extra of the two-point conversions jacoby jones makes the catch but can't get in the end zone so it's gonna be six-nothing presbyterian just a couple of minutes into this one as we'll take another look at this pass from wren hefley that got presbyterian on the board with a touchdown right across the middle standing all alone is bockhelder in the endzone for the touchdown so presbyterian does exactly what they say they're going to do they don't kick it on start with an onside kick drive down score a quick touchdown don't kick the next point go for two and that takes it six nothing presbyterian 12 49 to go in the first quarter but that's what we're going to see from this coach kelly coached offense is moving fast throwing the ball a lot and then not kicking interesting stuff going to be an interesting season for the blue hose under their first year under coach kelly fans seem to like it see if presbyterian on sidekick again here after the touchdown jack hennigan is the kicker that's going to come out the kick for presbyterian redshirt sophomore to greenville south carolina and yes there is another on-site kick but this one dove on and recovered by saint andrews so saint andrews will take over first and ten for their first possession from the presbyterian 43-yard line so a short field for the saint andrews teams to work with and their quarterback is going to be number 10 andrew fowler out of hillsdale michigan during the spring season 42 of 73 605 yards six touchdowns and two interceptions st andrew is going to take a knee and presumably take a delay a game penalty here to start this one and that's what they'll that'll be do still be first and ten so fowler will bring the team out take the shotgun snap looks to throw quickly throws it high intended out there for number nine john pinckney pass two high incomplete breaks up second down and ten slip backs in the back field and another back dotting the eye there'll be a pitch out that's going to be brought down in the backfield for a loss of about seven yards back to mcfield as number 39 for presbyterian gets back there and makes the tackle and his third down and long third about 17. for st andrews fowler gonna roll to his right make a throw across the field gonna be stopped short it's complete but stop short of the first down by about four yards it looks like the st andrews offense is still out on the field looks like they're going to go for it too far to kick a field goal too close to punt fowler will take the shotgun snapo hand it off now fake and it's tackled right there at the lineup matter of fact he lost a yard and presbyterian gonna hold on downs a turnover on downs gives presbyterian the ball back we'll see that pc offense again when we come back here on espn plus presbyterian offense back out on the field after the fourth down stopped by the pc defense andrew fowler excuse me rin hefley brings his offense back out that's going to be incomplete he overthrows that one hefley came out in the first series took his offense right down the field for a touchdown in this kevin kelly coaching offense kevin kelly coming over from the high school ranks one of the highest highly touted coaches in high school football his introductory press conference here at pc was introduced by bill belichick yes that bill belichick a lot of excitement about that around here definitely going to take the snap hand it off they're going to look to throw a little wide receiver pass is incomplete tyler huff in there wide receiver the quarterback last year here at pc got the start uh last year in most of the games i think he missed one with an injury a 62 completion percentage for him but that one falls incomplete there and presbyterian third 10. if we back in the shotgun five wide receivers for the blue hose looking to throw gonna throw it across the middle got a man wide open at the 40 30 25 20 15 10 5 they're not going to catch him touchdown of razzmatarian that is number 18 jalen jones out of the richard freshman out of charlotte north carolina that catches the pass from marin hefley and just like that presbyterian has scored again and it's 12 nothing and they're gonna line up of course to go for two as we take another look at it here happily with plenty of time makes the throw jones is wide open if we're going to take the snap hand off to huff again huffle throw it into the end zone and is called the two-point conversion is good and presbyterian now leads this game 14 to nothing with 11.05 left to go in the first quarter so this has been field just as expected from coach kelly the high powered offense moving quickly driving right down the field punching it in and going for two every time as we take another look at the beautiful pass from hefley to jones who just outran everybody into the end zone and presbyterian leads 14 to nothing and then again tyler huff taking the handoff making the pass right there at the pylon to [Music] number 89. [Music] austin polson the wide receiver out of conway south carolina transferred from coastal carolina and there is coach kevin kelly his first game as a college football coach won a bunch of championships at the high school level former national coach of the year at the high school level and presbyterian has another kicker going to come out in attempt what will more than likely be another onside kick and there it goes and that's going to be fielded and recovered by saint andrews number four [Music] oh [Music] first down run a gain of about two brings up second down and eight for saint andrews new quarterback in is austin wallace the sophomore to burlington north carolina wallace going to hand it off to devonta allen who's going to be stopped short for a loss actually it looks like they're going to lose about two see exactly where they mark it at they'll mark it back at the 46 yard line so give him a loss of one it brings up third and nine third and nine for saint andrews wallace in the shotgun one back behind him he's going to look to throw and actually that's fowler back in he makes the throw out close to about the 31-32 they'll mark him at the 33-yard line that's enough for a saint andrews first down their first of the game as pinkney makes the catch gets knocked out of bounds the first and ten at the 33. shotgun formation for fowler looking to throw whistles stop it looks like we may have a false start on st andrews it's on the wide receiver cash hard cohens got a little bit of an early start so they'll back them up five yards back to about the 40 two yard line it looks like [Music] oh point conversion as definitely looks to throw had a man couldn't connect with him as i believe that's number 19 witcher again who had the catch just a few minutes ago but it's now 20-7 presbyterian got behind the sticks that time but didn't panic and another big touchdown pass from hefley who's looked really good here in this first quarter of play 8 39 to go 27 presbyterian on top of st andrews here from clinton south carolina entertaining entertaining a lot of scoring here so far it's what we thought we would get with this pc team and i know we're having some technical i know we're having some technical difficulties we're working to get those problems corrected right now so hopefully keep some audio here so you can enjoy the sights and sounds here from clinton south carolina there's another onside kick coming this one's going to be recovered with ease by number two for saint andrews that's uh cohen's again the senior out of norfolk virginia st andrews will take over first and ten at the presbyterian 46 yard line again 8 39 in this one and they go in the first slow first quarter that's what you get when you got a lot of score in the under center is fowler he'll hand off up the middle not much room there about a yard maybe two yeah they'll give him two as trevor mcneill gets forward to for two yards the senior out of charleston south carolina second down [Music] [Music] handoff up the middle for a gain of about six or so maybe seven he'll be a yard shy of the first down third and one for st andrews third and one for st andrews they'll be under center again two backs in the backfield fowler will take it hand off no or fake the handoff and rolls off to the right side he's gonna have enough for the first down he needed one he got three and it's first down st andrews inside the presbyterian 35-yard line first down back in the shot and gun goes fowler one back beside him looking to throw gonna step up the pocket and take off running he'll have a little space he'll get forward for about five yards let's see if they give him six i believe they will it'll be first down going to be second down and five they'll give him five so second and five for the knights the shotgun brings the man in motion hands it off to the wide receiver number eight junior ellis running back out of jacksonville north carolina gets forward for a couple gonna bring up third down and two third down before saint andrews six uh just about six minutes left to go here in the first quarter fowler takes the snap rolls out to his right throw is going to be incomplete intended over on the right side and that's going to bring up fourth down that was intended for it looked like number 11 demetrius mitchell brings up fourth down and about two for saint andrews presbyterian has turned st anders over on downs one time already in this game coach kelly would love for him to do it again here and get the ball back for that high-powered pc offense shotgun snap there's the handoff plenty of room to run and that's going to be enough for a saint andrews first down so a new set of downs for st andrews just about the pc 21-yard line first and ten from the 21. fowler looks over to the to the saint andrews sideline under five and a half to play in the first quarter shotgun snap looking to throw throws it out got it complete out to cohen's cohen's tackled immediately but a gain of about six yards brings up a second in force we take another look just a quick pass out tries to make a turn to get away from a defender but a great job there by number 30 for presbyterian monta boyd for making that tackle handoff faked i don't know he had actually handed it to him he rolls out looked like he was going to be stopped short but instead spins out of a couple of tackles gets forward to about the eight yard line so that's going to bring up a first and goal little run pass option hands it off gets him over on the right side he gets inside the 10 first and goal now for saint andrews shotgun snap rolls to his right looks to throw got a man wide open he'll walk in the end zone but there's a flag on the play let's hold on there and it's going to be offensive pass interference they're going to say there was a pick play there if we can get another look at that let's watch the receiver the whole way but it is going to be pass interference on saint andrews here comes our referee today jeffrey jones so we'll take another look at the play it is past interference on st andrews and here it comes yeah absolutely they'll get you for that most of the time it didn't get clemson for the national championship back in 16. but they get st andrews for it here today so that'll back them up all the way past the 20-yard line back at the 23-yard line so first and goal from the 23 and fowler will take off running he'll pick up a few inside the 20 down to about the 18. as we take another look at that here look like a designed quarterback keeper so second and goal from the 18. for the knights fowler in the shotgun looking to throw under pressure and he's going to be sacked he throws the ball out let's see they're going to call are they ruling that a fumble they are looks like that's keegan hollerin who has recovered that fumble and is going to run it all the way back to the saint andrews 44 yard line and i don't know about that i think that should have probably been ruled an incomplete pass but let's take another look they got him around he tried to throw that that's an incomplete pass that's not a fumble that's an incomplete pass did it go forward is the question did it go forward is the question they're going to get together and talk about it let's see if we can get another look at it here to see if maybe that was a going to be ruled a lateral look i think that's a forward pass i think that should be ruled an incomplete pass referee's going to get together and talk about it the referee's going to get together and talk about this here let's see what they come up with no instant replay so whatever the referees decide will be the call on the field it has been ruled a fumble as of right now but i think they're going to change that call let's see what they come up with here comes our white hat referee they're going to get the football so this is going to be ruled an incomplete pass this is going to be ruled an incomplete pass which is the correct call but they will call intentional grounding loss of down it should be fourth down at the 25 or the 26 yard line so that that's the correct call that is the correct call it should be intentional grounding as you see he was pretty much sacked and just threw the ball away going to his backside so that is an incomplete pass but it's ruled intentional grounding he's inside the pocket um so a great call by our referees to get together talk that one through but it will bring up third down and goal from the 26 yard line for saint andrews the right call great job by the referees to get together and talk that one through so third down and goal from the 26. see what st andrews dials up here this could very easily be four down territory it's a snap to fowler he's under pressure again tries to sling it out but too high for number six mcneal and that's going to bring up fourth and goal from the 26th just a little bit too high out of the reach of the running back mcneil fourth down and goal from the 26 yard line and it looks like they're going to go for it too fourth and goal here goes the snap to fowler looking to throw he's gonna roll to his right there's a hold there's no call balor gonna run and lifts one up to the end zone it's gonna be hit off the hands of the receiver and incomplete in the end zone as he had a chance for it couldn't quite get to it and that'll be another turnover on down that'll be presbyterian ball first and goal from the saint andrews 26-yard line let's take another look at it here right off his hands he had a shot had a shot by this turnover on down the pc ball when we come back it's 27 presbyterian with 3 22 to go in the first saint andrews head coach stephen harris said he likes to roll the dice too and not put the ball very much as he's going for it on fourth down a couple of times today but giving it back to pc here after a turnover on downs pc taking over first and ten at the st andrews 26 yard line and that first play to del vecchio powell gets forward for about five so it'll bring up second down and five for pc who has been as advertised with a high powered offense slinging it all over the field not kicking started the game with an onside kick here earlier and we're in the first quarters 20-7. shotgun snap handoff this time goes to number 24. he's going to get forward past the 40 up to about the 43-yard line for another presbyterian first down with the first down here's another pass that's slung out a lot of contact there and there's gonna come the flag they're gonna call pass interference on i believe that's number andrew austin the senior linebacker out a nickelback rather out of taylor south carolina going to be called for the contact before the ball got there and that is the right call so pass interference on saint andrews the ball is placed at the spot of the foul which is the line of scrimmage oddly enough but it's a first down they'll move the ball about half a foot it looks like so a half a foot penalty and that is the right call i'm not sure that ball was catchable heavily in the shotgun takes the snap under pressure rolls out going to get away from one guy going to run forward gain a couple of yards before he gets out of bounds gain of about two looking for somewhere to go with that ball really nowhere to go had to get flushed out due to the pressure decided to keep it coach kelly like him to tuck that ball a little sooner probably second nate second down in eight here's a shotgun snap we're gonna see a reverse no we're gonna see a double reverse a double reverse pass a double reverse pass double pass and that ball is incomplete a little trickeration dialed up but the pass just threw the hands at math of matthew rivera the freshman out of jacksonville florida can't hold on to it double reverse slings it out then thrown forward and incomplete falls out of the hands of rivera third down and eight wow looking to throw got a man that's going to be enough for the first down he's up to the 45-40. so presbyterian fans want the flag there on that tackle but enough as rivera redeems himself there gets down to the 36-yard line and that's another presbyterian college first down the first at 10 pc at the 36. hathley takes the snap looks to throw deep ball toward the end zone got a man it's called touchdown presbyterian college the ball caught again by jalen winter in the corner of the end zone in hefley and witcher hooked up several times today and it's good for another presbyterian college touchdown and here comes the two-point conversion look at this throw by hefley and a great catch and getting both of the feet down and in the end zone for another touchdown 26-7 your score here comes a two-point conversion a bunch formation brings the man in motion he'll hand it off nobody moves and he's going to walk into the end zone for two is number 25 for presbyterian chase tinsley running back out of dorman high school has the two-point conversion and it's 28-7 presbyterian a minute 20 left to go here in the first quarter play as you took another look at that one there big plays big passes down field this is exactly what we were told what we were told to expect from a coach kelly coats to offenses kevin kelly coming from the high school ranks for us teams were known for their high powered offenses not kicking and we've seen all of that here today so we've what we were told is what exactly what has happened and it's been good for presbyterian here so far 28-7 lead with a minute 20 left to go in the first again cleanly by uh cohens fielded the last one and then again first in 10 for saint andrews on the presbyterian 46 yard line the fowler will run the offense back out there a couple of times they've turned the ball over on downs here in this game they did get one touchdown earlier but both of these coaches rolling the dice going forward on force fowler brings the offense out again he'll hand it off up the middle a lot of running room for devonta allen who's in the 2015 10-5 and he'll march into the end zone for a saint andrews touchdown so one play 46-yard drive and saint andrews answers the presbyterian college touchdown it's now 28-13 unless if they're going to bring on a kicking unit i believe they will should take another look as he just ran almost untouched den allen fast back out of marion south carolina down in the lower part of the state we're up here in the upstate of south carolina 28-13 here comes the extra point attempt to snap the hole the kick is up it's not pretty but guess what it's right through the middle and it's good 28-14 a two-touchdown lead for presbyterian now 110 left to go here in the first quarter of play as we take another look at the touchdown just a to the 40. little space 45 and it'll be right at the 46-yard line where presbyterian will put the ball in play first and ten there is a flag on the play that's right about a spot where maybe that offsides would be on the kicking team let's see if that's the case referees have done a good job of getting together and talking about things today discussing it making sure they get things right always good when a group can get together and discuss it make sure they get a call right this crew's done that today it is offsides on the kicking team they'll add five yards to the end of the run so that'll put the ball presbyterian will put it into saint andrews territory at the 49. as we take another look at it here just about a step offsides up there toward the top of your screen right there so put the ball in st andrews territory and so far this presbyterian offense hasn't needed help with penalties they've connected on their passes and done a good job offensively as has heffley in his first season here at presbyterian after transferring uh from michigan flicker is a fumble he can't get back to it and that's going to be a turnover as that ball's recovered by number 44. the defensive tackle maddox spires out of catawba north carolina with the fumble recovery they tried the old flea flicker dialing up a little trickery as you can see the pits just didn't get back to hefley and that's a big turnover for presbyterian who was trying to go back up three scores instead it'll be 28-14 57 seconds left to go here in the first quarter of play fowler will bring the offense back out after this quick strike score last time this time he's going to look to throw but he's going to be wrapped up in the backfield but he gets away and he's going to be able to throw the ball away he gets out of the tackle box so that and the ball got back past the line of scrimmage so that'll be an incomplete pass but a great job by fowler of avoiding the sack as it looks like he was wrapped up in the backfield by number 39 for presbyterian but he gets out of it gets that ball away great job good field presence by fowler fowler gonna pitch this one out we got a lot of space out there for the wide receiver that ball's on the ground and presbyterians picked it up presbyterian has picked that up that's dubois with the fumble recovery the freshman out of camden in his first game here in clinton has the recovery and it's gonna be first down presbyterian so no harm no foul on the turnover by the presbyterian offense just a few minutes ago as a matter of fact they gained two yards just a hard hit but jarred that ball loose and the presbyterian offense will be back out on the field so hefley will run his offense back out there after the turnover last time four wide receivers one back in the backfield standing to the left of hefley definitely takes the snap he'll hand it off run up the middle that's going to be a gain of about two yards up to the 35 yard line exceeding the 45 yard line brings with the hand gets the hand off there gain two if we back in the shotgun looking to throw gonna throw it back out there to his running back he's gonna get to the 40 up to the 35 makes it cut inside goes to about the 30. they'll give him the 30-yard line and that's plenty for another presbyterian college first down you see hefley pump fakes a little swing pass out to the running back who gets forward makes some moves makes a great cut and gets it right to the 30-yard line and that's going to be the end of the first quarter of play we've been through one we've seen a lot of points it's presbyterian 28. saint andrews 14 will be back here on espn plus out to a 28-14 lead on st andrews and it has been an offensive show here for both of these teams is presbyterian has come out really slinging the ball around ren hefley the new quarterback here at pc 9 of 13 252 yards and four touchdowns 179 yard pass as tyler huff comes out at quarterback here and makes a pass for presbyterian here in this drive he was the starter for the blue hose last year he'll lead them to a winning record in the spring season earlier this year rather one nearly last year i guess it was earlier this year bunch formation for the blue hose gonna hand off to huff huff gonna get inside the 15 crosses the 10 gonna be down to about the nine yard line a gain of about six brings up second four they'll stop the clock temporarily as a saint andrews player's helmet came off monty williams will have to jog off we're told we'd see tyler huff the backup quarterback in it running back some and lineup at receiver sum and he has done that today matter of fact back out there running back again standing to the right of heffley second down and four halfway looking to throw gonna be flush from the pocket gonna dip it dump it out to tyler huff who makes a man miss and stumbles his way into the end zone for a presbyterian college touchdown so tyler huff coming in to back up quarterback seeing some time and running back and he's going to get a touchdown 34-14 and looks like presbyterian gonna kick for the first time here they've gone for two every other time but bringing on the extra point team this time here comes the snap the hole the kick is up and it is good and the whistle ahead of time is going to be a false start on presbyterian they're going to back them up five yards so they'll back presbyterian up five yards on the false start so they'll have to kick it again that one did go right through the uprights see if he could make it from five yards further out snap the hole the kick is st andrew's offense comes back out fowler leading the team out has a running back standing behind him two wide receivers to each side he'll hand it off up the middle to mcneil who powers forward for about three yards brings up second seven tj booker on the tackle there's a flag on the play that looks like it's going to be a hold but a gain of about one on the play on the keeper by fowler oh it's an illegal shift they'll back them up five yards and replay second down so an illegal shift start the clock back up second down and now 12 after the legal shift penalty fowler takes us now he's looking to throw he's under pressure he's going to be hit wrapped up and he's going to be sacked they'll give him forward progress to the 43 but another big loss for this saint andrews team moses in on the tackle brings up third down and 19 now for saint andrews st andrews also has not punted in this game electing to go forward on a couple of different fourth down occasions they're looking to miscommunication there with the receiver who kind of turned around and stopped instead of running into the end zone they were thinking two different routes there so fourth down and three gonna look to they again on start with an onside kick that's recovered by saint andrews kelly bringing in a lot of excitement here on the campus in clinton south carolina trying to change the culture and a lot of coaches you know say that when they get the job of shane beamer taking over down in columbia at the university of south carolina first things changed the culture i mean coach kelly done that a lot of excitement here in bluehose country you know if you look at the um the stands here a lot more people fouled their way in here to see this one the first game is we do have an injury down on the field the injured player for saint andrews is number four orlando flowers junior he's going to get up and walk off under his own power hopefully nothing major there for me he looks pretty good walking off here it's gonna be first and ten saint andrews from the presbyterian 45-yard line 41-22 your score 5 45 still to go here in the second quarter the saint andrews offense has been good too and their senior quarterback andrew fowler leads him back out here in the second quarter takes the shotgun snap gonna hand off and keep it actually on the reed pass option go over to the left side and gain about two yards option made the great decision to pull it out that time because allen was stopped in the backfield second nate and quickly to the line are the knights shotgun snap hands does not hand it off again keeps this time then flips it out a lot of running space there as he'll get across the 20 and actually be marked down at the 20-yard line that's devontae allen again good pitch out gets it to the 20-yard line first and ten a fresh set of downs just st andrew's offense driving they're not gonna be showing up they say shotgun snap keeps it again does fowler he's got a lot of running room he's going to walk into the end zone touchdown saint andrews as andrew fowler punches it in from 20 yards out a 20-yard touchdown run for the quarterback and it's 41-28 he decides to keep it saw something he liked made a couple of guys miss it's just a foot race which he wins easily for the touchdown and they look like they may go for two again no they won't they'll move the line down and we'll decide to kick here trying to cut it to 41-29 that kick is up that kick sneaks through it's good it's 41.29 st andrews hanging around here in this one a lot of scoring with 4 35 to go in the second i wouldn't be surprised if we see a couple more touchdowns here in the second quarter you see andrew fowler just had that 20-yard touchdown run a six foot 195 pound senior out of hillsdale michigan had a good spring uh semester had a good spring football season he ran the ball 44 times during the spring 173 yards five touchdown give him another one there on the fall season it's first and rin actually a second because he punched that one in a little bit ago on the one-yard dive and now the saint andrews knights will kick off the presbyterian with 4 35 to go in the first half that's school football at lewisville high school he's down on a knee he'll pop up maybe just had the air knocked out of him there hopefully he'll be all right and get back in this game here in just a little bit you know number seven became a popular number for defensive ends um after davion clowney wore that at south carolina and louisville high school not being too far from rocky or today violently played his high school football imagine that's probably why he wears the number seven third down and five for presbyterian will be five wide receivers three to the left two to the right halfway will take the shotgun snap he'll look to throw plenty of time throws it toward the end zone it is caught touchdown presbyterian that play is caught by jacoby jones and presbyterian has struck again with 305 to go in the first half it's 47-29 another look as heftly having all day to throw delivers a strike jones makes a great catch turns around jumps into the end zone for another touchdown so we'll have another two point conversion attempt here hefley still with all the time in the world to throw scrambles pass into the end zone it is called for the two-point conversion and it is 51-29 presbyterian 305 to go in the half 49-29 is our score my goodness as advertised has been coach kelly's offense so far you know a lot of times when a new coach comes in and takes over it takes a while for him to get his players in to get his style of offense installed but from the looks of it the looks of the score right now coach kelly has done so here in this first year so far it's been just as we expected or just as we were told here in this game presbyterian had a lot of players that transferred out during the off-season which opened a lot of roster spots for team for players to transfer in so a lot of new names here for presbyterian on both sides of the football coach kelly's offense seems to be rolling still 305 to go in the second here comes the onside kick and it is on the ground and i think saint andrews will come away with it really should have been an illegal touch on presbyterian and i think it will be and i think they'll say the ball will be down and set at the 43-yard line of presbyterian and that's where saint andrews will put it in play first and tent yes that's what they will call a first touching by the kicking team at the 42-yard line take another look at it here it'll bounce off a presbyterian player's arm as he tried to avoid it there it was so saint andrews ball as fowler will run it out 305 to go in the first half fowler will take the snap hands it off to number eight junior ellis he'll get up close to the 40-yard line so a pickup of a couple second eight fowler will take the shotgun snap he'll look to throw pump fakes comes back rolls to his right throws back across the middle of the field too high intended to number three juwan lyons that'll bring up third and eight third down and eight for st andrews looking to throw his fowler he'll get it out but not in the time upstairs a little high for johan lyons even if he catches it he loses some yardage there it's gonna bring up fourth down and eight for the knights and i believe they're gonna bring on in the kicking team and that'll give presbyterian the ball back with still over two minutes to play which we have seen has been plenty of time before this blue hose offense we're going to have a delay again on saint andrews backs them up to the 45. and i don't think presbyterian believes they're gonna punt they're not sending anybody back keegan holler in the deepest man back there we got a whistle and we're gonna have a false start on saint andrews gonna back him up a little bit more so back him up some more they're gonna put two seconds back on the game clock make it 219. presbyterian still not putting anybody back deep on the punt rugby style kick gonna hit at about the 11 yard line and roll back inside the 10 down to about the seven or eight yard line they'll say the eight yard line that's where presbyterian will put it in play first and ten from the eighth i had to drive 92 yards and they got 207. and this quick strike presbyterian offense thinks they probably have plenty of time to put seven or well eight more back on the board six for eight he did kick one extra point earlier in this one lead by 20 49-29-207 they go in the first half left lee brings the offense back out he'll toss it to del vecchio powell loses his foot and then gets back up gets past the 15 all the way down to the 16 so it looked like he wasn't gonna have much but he ends up picking up about seven yards and it'll make it second down in three and an injured player for saint andrews as you see powell there getting up making some folks missus mommy williams is down on the play again mrs williams is being attended to both teams head over their respective sidelines minute 53 to go in the first half williams gets up he's assisted off the field teams make their way back halfway back in the shotgun del vecchio powell stands to his left the red rod receiver stacked to the right he'll throw that way it'll be rivera who has the first down and more crosses at 25 up around the 27 yard line another presbyterian first down with 145 to go in the second first quickly to the line or the blue hose hathley takes the snap looking to throw again going to throw back across the field to powell powell gets one block gets forward to about the 35 yard line making him a couple of yards shy of the first down takes 127 to play comes to a stop power apparently got out of bounds second down intended for bockhelder just a little high for him to get to and bring down as we go under a minute here in the first half brings up second and ten three ride receivers to the right side two to the near side shotgun snap hefley steps up in the pocket looks to throw delivers one in the middle of the field caught at the three the two the one rivera is in for a touchdown and presbyterian marches down the field less than two minutes but there is a flag on the play right near the line of scrimmage sitting about the 30-yard line in the area of what could be an illegal man downfield or any legal forward pass did he run past the line of scrimmage before he threw it it is going to be brought back believe that's what they're going to say it was an illegal forward pass that ball sit that flag sits about two yards beyond the line of scrimmage which was the 32 that ball that flag sitting right on the 30. it is an illegal forward pass hefley runs a couple of yards past the line of scrimmage so that'll take a touchdown off the board with 42 seconds as we take another look at it remember the line of scrimmage is the 28 yard line he crosses it right ah my goodness i don't know awful close call there so to bring up third down at about 12. so hopefully underhand pitch it get it forward back almost to the original line of scrimmage matter of fact he'll be excuse me i was saying it was a 28-32 bring up fourth down and timeout presbyterian with 34 seconds to go and of course they're probably going to go for this here after the timeout take a time out to talk about it with 34 seconds to open in the end zone for the touchdown is number 19 jalen witcher and presbyterian has put 55 points up here in the first half take another look at it here patience patience patience he finally opens up a receiver and delivers a beautiful pass as hefley before another touchdown and presbyterian actually going to kick the extra point here with three seconds to go in the half the snap the hole the kick is up and it's plenty good 56-29 presbyterian with the lead as we get ready to head to halftime as we'll take another look at the scoring play for presbyterian again heffley just waiting waiting offensive power can continue i've been calling football games a long time that was one of the wildest first halfs i've ever seen i've ever seen kind of a squib kick from st andrews pc will field it
