light grant we pray that we who have known the mysteries of his light on earth may also delight in his gladness in heaven who lives and reigns of you in the unity of the holy spirit god forever and ever amen a reading from the prophet isaiah the people that walked in darkness has seen a great light on those who live in the land of deep shadow a light has shown you have made their gladness greater you have made their joy increase they rejoice in your presence as men rejoice at harvest time as men are happy when they are dividing the spoils for the yoke that was weighing on him the bar across his shoulders the rod of his oppressor these you break as on the day of median all the foot gear of battle every cloak rolled in blood is burned and consumed by fire for there is a child born for us a son given to us and dominion is laid on his shoulders and this is the name they give him wonder counselor mighty god eternal father prince of peace white is his dominion in a peace that has no end for the throne of david and for his royal power which he establishes and makes secure injustice and integrity from this time onwards and forever the jealous love of the lord of hosts will do this the word of the lord thanks be to god today a savior has been born to us he is christ the lord today a savior has been born to us he is christ the lord o sing a new song to the lord sing to the lord all the earth o sing to the lord bless his name today today a savior has been born for us he is christ the lord proclaim his help day by day tell among the nations his glory and his wonders among all the peoples today a savior has been born to us he is christ the lord let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad let the sea and all within it thunder praise let the land and holy bears rejoice all the trees of the word shout for joy at the presence of the lord for he comes he comes to rule the earth today a savior has been born to us he is christ the lord with justice he will rule the world he will judge the people with his truth today a savior has been born to us he is christ the lord a reading from the letter of saint paul to titus god's grace has been revealed and it has made salvation possible for the whole human race and taught us that what we have to do is to give up everything that does not lead to god and all our worldly ambitions we must be self-restrained and live good and religious lives here in this present world while we are waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great god and savior christ jesus he sacrificed himself for us in order to set us free from all wickedness and to purify a people so that it could be his very own and would have no ambition except to do good the word of the lord thanks be to god please then [Music] i bring you news of great joy today a savior has been born to us christ the lord the lord be with you and with your spirit a reading from the holy gospel according to luke glory to you o lord caesar augustus issued a decree for a census of the whole world to be taken these census the first took place while quirinius was governor of syria and everyone went to his own town to be registered so joseph set out from the town of nazareth in galilee and traveled up to judea to the town of david called bethlehem since he was of david's house and line in order to be registered together with mary he is betrothed who was with child while they were there the time came for her to have her child and she gave birth to a son her first born she wrapped him in swaddling clothes and led him in the manger because there was no room for them at the inn in the countryside close by there were shepherds who lived in the fields and took it in turns to watch their flocks during the night the angel of the lord appeared to them and the glory of the lord shone around them they were terrified but the angel said do not be afraid listen i bring you news of great joy a joy to be shared by the whole people today in the town of david the savior has been born to you he is christ the lord and here is a sign for you you will find a baby wrapped in sweating clothes and lying in a manger and suddenly with the angel there was a great throng of the heavenly host praising god and singing glory to god in the highest heaven and peace to men who enjoy his favor the gospel of the lord praise to you lord jesus christ brothers and sisters the christmas gospel has been proclaimed it is christmas for us so we shall now bless the nativity scene we'll do it this way all the lights will be on but after the blessing once we have nailed down i'll ask them to switch off the lights so our attention could be focused on him whom we adore let us pray [Music] god of every nation and people from the very beginning of creation you have made manifest your love when our need for a savior was great you sent your son to be born of the virgin mary to our lives he brings joy and peace justice mercy and love lord bless all who looked upon this manger made reminders of the humble birth of jesus and dress up our thoughts to him who is god with us and savior of all and who lives and reigns forever and ever amen do let us now all kneel down in adoration of the newborn king so require you sing [Music] see [Music] see [Music] see is [Music] let us turn on the lights and please sit down gloria in exchanges jail glory to god in the highest heaven and peace to men on earth who are of goodwill [Music] brothers and sisters a blessed and joyous christmas to one and all here present physically in the church and all those are watching the same mask at home it did not work trying to play and act god after the tragic fall of adam and eve sin came into the world bringing along conflicts and miseries and death to the human race god the father was watching and listening he heard the cries of miseries and the desperate need for salvation from below then in the fullness of time he asked the divine person of the eternal word to take flesh to come down and be with us on earth the word too had watched had listened had obeyed and said here i am i come to do your will give me a body that i may die for them so christmas was decided and by the power of god the holy spirit the word became emmanuel god with us in the flesh a body with ears and heart walking on our same earth tonight more than any other nights in the year we rejoice for a savior child is born for us all the planning of god for christmas could not have worked if mary and joseph did not listen to god obeyed him and gave jesus flesh and a home on earth in the holy family at bethlehem and nazareth joseph and mary the parents listen lovingly to every cry of their infant and then growing child as jesus grew he too listened to his parents lived under their authority and he increased in stature in wisdom and favor with god and man and was well prepared to go out to listen to all outside his own family often his parents found it difficult to listen to him even to understand him when jesus was 12 years old you will remember he was lost he took his parents three days searching anxiously and finally they found him in the temple at jerusalem but he told them they should not they should have known he was about his father's business and they should also know where to find him but his parents didn't understand what he was saying but we are also told that mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart such was the listening power of his mother she went on listening and listening continuously in her heart well after hearing the words of the sun if you look at the icon the famous painting of our lady of perpetual circle there you see mother mary carrying the child jesus infant inside the teenager in luke in his mother's arms jesus glances to his left at the cross the angel was carrying and there is another angel on the left carrying the spear and the nail all instruments of his coming suffering and death the child startles takes fright holds tightly to his mother's right hand but losing control just for a moment he drops his little shoe he was wearing on his right foot he is obviously saying i'm frightened the listening mother says i know that she presses her child's hands assuringly it's going to be okay after joseph's death jesus went public to proclaim the kingdom of god and call the people to conversion he spent three years listening to all kinds of people especially the lowly the poor women widows and orphans sinners lepers criminals pagans foreigners we preach to them of god's mercy and love and heal them he walked with them and he completed his mission by giving his life for them on the cross he couldn't have done he couldn't have done all that if he had not learned from his parents mary and joseph indeed he could not have done that without being given a body it is in a heart by his mother mary and he couldn't have done all that if he did not live in such an attentive home headed by joseph his foster father so while on earth the son of god learned to listen and he listened to us all unto the cross the theme for this year's christmas in our parishes listen learn and share a child is born for us you see it on the huge banner we put out just in front of our gate but sayanga you know blocked by many telephone and electrical cables we have decided on this stream in line with the ongoing synod on synodality in the church launched last october and will continue until it's completed in october 2 or 2 3 in a two-year long process the pandemic is a real challenge to carry this sinner out well but never in history has the church gone down and to the grassroots so decisively so deliberately wanting to listen and to dialogue with those with lesser voices especially to become a synodal church that is a church in which all are walking and journeying together in our archdiocese and our own parish here we are also planning on how to listen dialogue and journey with as many people as possible we rejoice tonight because the prophecy of isaiah has been fulfilled for there is a child born for us a son given to us and dominion is laid on his shoulders from this time onwards and forever the jealous love of the lord of hosts will do this the jealous love of god is doing it by giving us his only son to teach us to listen just like god his father himself who has stooped down to listen more closely to our cries on earth from this child we learn to pay attention to the small and the smallest of voices around us to converse and dialogue to know of their needs and let them know also of our own readiness to serve and give life in their favor christmas is the greatest for the gift received is the greatest paul writing to titus tells us tonight that this child jesus grew to be a man and sacrificed himself for us in order to set us free from all wickedness and to purify a people so that it could be his very own and would have no ambition except to do good maybe listen like him to be purified help others to be purified so that many more will have no greater ambition on earth than to do good and this ambition to do good must begin in our own families by first listening to each other most sincerely so that the whom becomes a synodal church where all members walk on the same journey that has no other destination except that of doing good let's pray tonight on christmas night for the whole world struck by the present pandemic are sailed by greater division and conflict the nations and peoples will see the christmas the christ born for us despite the darknesses that surround us and grow to have no greater ambition than to do good glory to god in the highest heaven in peace to men of goodwill on earth blessed christmas christmas to listen a christmas to learn a christmas to share because a child has been born for us let us stand and we shall profess the apostles creed i believe in god the father almighty creator of heaven and earth and in jesus christ his only son our lord who was conceived by the holy spirit born of the virgin mary suffered and the pontius pilate was crucified and was buried he descended into hell on the third day he rose again from the dead he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of god the father almighty from there he will come to judge the living and the dead i believe in the holy spirit the holy catholic church the communion of saints the forgiveness of sins the resurrection of the body and life everlasting amen today a savior has been born to us christ the lord on this holy night we have listened with joy to god's good news we've renewed confidence we bring before our god all our needs and those of the world our responses christ live in us christ lives in us for joy and peace at christmas joy is god's gift to the whole to all the world may christmas be for us and for all people a time of joy and peace and may all the nations of the earth rejoice at the birth of jesus we pray to the lord christ live in us for a renewed sense of hope in our world may our celebration of the birth of jesus be a time for renewed hope in our world and may our joy and witness bring the good news of salvation to the whole human race we pray to the lord christ lives in us for thanksgiving at the birth of jesus jesus is the messiah christ the lord may we be thankful to our god for giving us a savior born today bringing good news of peace and reconciliation to all the people of the world we pray to the lord christ live in us for peace in our families may we experience peace in our families at this special time and may the spirit of christmas be with our families and communities in all the years ahead we pray to the lord christ live in us we pray for our very troubled world on this night of christmas night of peace may god bring to an end all the divisions and the conflicts with the child born to teach us to listen teach all humanity to listen to care for each other so that we will all become more and more having no other ambition except to do good the happiest person on christmas night was mother mary but we know she first listened to god she obeyed and she listened to her son that's on this christmas turn to the mother of god the mother of the child born for us asking her always to intercede for us hail mary full of grace the lord is with thee blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb jesus holy mary mother of god pray for us sinners now and at the alpha death amen please be seated blessed are you lord god of all creation for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you brush of the earthwork of human hands it will become for us the bread of life blessed be god forever blessed are you lord god of all creation but for your goodness we have received the wine we offer you throughs of divine work of human friends will become our spiritual ring blessed be god forever so pray brothers and sisters that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to god the almighty father may the lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church may the oblation of this day's feast be pleasing to you o lord we pray that through this most holy exchange we may be found in the likeness of christ in whom our nature is united to you who lives and reigns forever and ever amen the lord be with you and with your spirit lift up your hearts we lift them up to the lord let us give thanks to the lord our god it is right and just it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always an effort where to give you clangs lord holy father almighty and eternal god for in the mystery of the word made flesh a new light of your glory has shone upon the eyes of our mind so that as we recognize in him god made visible we may be caught up through him in love of things invisible and so with angels and archangels with thrones and dominions and before the hills and palms of heaven we sing the hymn of your glory as without and we acclaim [Music] who comes in the name of the lord [Music] we give you praise father most holy for you are great and you have passion all your works in wisdom and in love you form man in your own image and entrusted the whole world to his care so that in serving you alone the creator he might have dominion over all creatures and went through disobedience he had lost your friendship you did not abandon him to the domain of death for you came in mercy to the aid of all so that those who seek might find you time and again you offered them covenants and through the prophets taught them to look forward to salvation and you so loved the world the father most holy that in the fullness of time you sent your only begotten son to be our savior made incarnate by the holy spirit and born of the virgin mary he shed our human nature in all things but sin to the poor he proclaimed the good news of salvation to prisoners freedom and to the sorrowful of heart joy to accomplish your plan he gave himself up to death and rising from the dead he destroyed death and restored life and that we might live no longer for ourselves but for him who died and rose again for us he sent the holy spirit from you father as the first fruits for those who believe so that bringing to perfection his work in the world he might sanctify creation to the full therefore lord we pray may the same holy spirit graciously sanctify these offerings that they may become the body and blood of our lord jesus christ for the celebration of this great mystery which he himself left us as an eternal covenant for when the all had come for him to be glorified by you father most holy having loved his own who were in the world he loved them to the end and while they were suffer he took bread blessed and broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and age of it for this is my body which will be given up for you in a similar way taking this chalice filled with the future of the vine he gave thanks and gave the chalice to his disciples saying kick this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me the mystery of faith we proclaim your death oh lord and profess your resurrection until you come again therefore lord as we now celebrate the memorial of our redemption we remember christ's death and his descent to the realm of the dead we proclaim his resurrection and his ascension to your right hand and as we await his coming in glory we offer you his his body and blood the sacrifice acceptable to you which brings salvation to the whole world look lord upon the sacrifice which you yourself have provided for your church and grant in your kindness to all who partake of this one bread and one chalice that gathered into one by the holy spirit they may truly become a living sacrifice in christ to the praise of your glory therefore lord remember now all for whom we offer this sacrifice especially your servant francis our pope john our bishop and the whole other bishops and all the clergy those who take part in this offering those gathered here before you your entire people and all who seek you with a sincere heart remember also those who have died in the peace of your christ and all the dead whose faith you alone have known to all of us your children grant a merciful father that we may enter into a heavenly inheritance with the blessed virgin mary mother of god with blessed joseph her spouse and with your apostles saint simon the zealot and saints in your kingdom they with the whole of creation freed from the corruption of sin and death may we glorify you through christ our lord through whom you bestow on the world all that is good through him and with him and in him o god almighty father [Music] all glory and honor is yours forever [Music] at the savior's command and formed by divine teaching we dare to say [Music] [Music] against us [Music] deliver us lord we pray from every evil graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior jesus christ for the kingdom the power and the glory are yours now and forever lord jesus christ who said to your apostles peace i leave you my peace i give you will not on our sins but on the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will who live and reign forever and ever amen the peace of the lord be with you always and with your spirit as offer each other the sign of peace [Music] take away the sins of the world have mercy on us lamb of god you take away the sins of the world [Music] lamb of god you take away the sins of the world [Music] behold the lamb of god behold him who takes away the sins of the world blessed are those called to the supper of the lamb lord i am not worthy of my proof but only in the world and my soul shall be healed the word became flesh and we have seen his glory [Music] the word became flash and we have seen his glory [Music] is glory hmm [Music] peace bless unto this night please lord is this with so many questions and they have had some you know really long complicated heated discussions you know but we have agreed and now okay then our office you know both our white collar and blue color stuff they have worked so far weeks before this putting everything together of course then all the ministries i wouldn't mention but you know this nativity scene our clip this year and we thank also
