the national league North is a league in the sixth tier of English football yet it still has some interesting grounds some of which you could actually call stadiums with a straight face so let's check them out plunked amongst the Farmland of Lancashire is the appropriately named Mill Farm of AFC filed as one of the newest stadiums in the league and one of the best exterior made of this gray cladding and that tinted glass is looking pretty prestigious that is slightly ruined by the Audi over there but you have to buy your wheat bisque somewhere not only does this stadium look fantastic but the spectator amenities are top notch all the stands are covered and by all accounts of food options are great not a wheat bisque insight [Music] new Bucks Head AFC Telford United I want to ask why a stadium is called New Bucks Head but I already know the answers because England I wonder if there are actually some Taxidermy buckheads throughout the stadium I hope not they are kind of grotesque when you think about it anyway just like the last one there is plenty of gray about the place with some of the Sands being built from Greystone blocks it is a pretty impressive venue overall though I think the last one is slightly more impressive North Street alfreton town this ground is pretty similar to dozens of grounds around the country but the bright red color scheme sets it apart like the favelas of Brazil a paint job can make a big difference another thing that says this place apart is the pitch there's nothing unusual about it but it's known for having one of the best surfaces in the lower leagues I can certainly see that Spencer Stadium Banbury United stadium is not only basic but it's also the smallest stadium in the league however it does have some things going for it the main stand has seats in all the colors of the rainbow blue green faded green and purple as all the rainbow colors right I normally like some sort of wooded backdrop but this one's looking a little scruffy either way it's a cozy Stadium I guess Croft Park blyths Bartons this is an inch interesting little Stadium firstly I quite like the port of Blyth sand with its red brick facade and its distinctive green roof a color combination that's associated with baseball as is a green fence although in baseball it's usually a tall padded wall rather than a picket fence that surrounds the field it ties a place together nicely though [Music] the jakeman stadium Boston United oh so that's why people from Boston have such a distinctive accent they're actually English makes sense actually but in all seriousness despite the size disparity between Boston and the one in the US this daddy is better than any football specific stadium in Boston Massachusetts after selling their old stadium in town they built this new stadium out of town spending the price difference in property value on the stadium itself a wise decision it's one of the better grounds in the league St James Park Berkeley town who is this Saint James and why does he have so many stadiums named after him you know what I'm going to look him up hmm born in Palestine patron saint of Spain yes but what did what did he do why is he a saint oh inventor of the turnstile yeah fair enough he played a big part in the history of stadiums I'm making all this stuff up because there's not much to say about this Stadium horse fall Stadium Bradford hmm a running track yeah that makes sense actually I knew that Adidas tracksuits were a popular outfit in Bradford so I guess all those people are track athletes despite the track it's actually a nice little Stadium I like how it's being carved into the sloping Earth as well as the green white color scheme some of those seats actually came from Lords in London the silverlands Buxton the stadium is situated at an elevation of around 300 meters or a thousand feet which might not seem like much but it makes it one of the highest football grounds in professional or semi-professional English football it is still just 300 meters though the difference in oxygen levels is obviously negligible other than that Spectators can take a peek at the peaks of the Peak District in the backdrop Jai Guru Dava Stadium Chester this ground is known for its unusual Geographic situation it's in Chester England on paper but about 99 of the stadium is over in Wales of course Chester fans don't have to sort out a tourist visa to go watch their team all the English fans have to do is tell the Border guard that the Welsh flag is much cooler than the English one and then they're free to go which I think is absolutely Fair because the Welsh flag does have a dragon there are no dragons in here with three all Cedar stands and one Terrace it has a fairly standard layout Victory Park Chorley at Victory Park there is guaranteed to always be a Victor whether it be the home side or the away side or a near-all draw in which case The Spectators would be the winners the ground has a distinctive seating layout most notably the gross embankments as well as this tiny little stand to the east I quite like these old-fashioned roofs I believe the technical term for them is Upsy downsies [Music] thameside Stadium hers and Ashton he's got a foul mouth that Ashton but occurs and Ashton's stadium is anything but fell it has a clean uncluttered layout with some nice hits of red brick here an unusual Terrace with a particularly High roof there it's a good looking Stadium and it's all plonked into the middle of a Tranquil Park right next to what looks like a Motorsports venue but it's actually for cycling so no noise pollution foreign Meadows Darlington famously there's a much larger stadium that was built for the club but for various reasons they instead play at the much more humble yet much more beautiful ground of Blackwell Meadows in particular the quaint old-fashioned main stand bordering the other three sides of some rudimentary stance that have been added in recent years they don't have the same appeal but they do the job [Music] please come see me in the Citadel fosley Celtic thought I'd continued the trend of turning stadium names since the 1960s song lyrics to say this ground is like a citadel is a bit of a stretch but I suppose it is elevated above the town somewhat and some parts of the ground do look like they were built in the Middle Ages particularly the Western terrorists that's not necessarily A Bad Thing millions of people visit the ancient sites of Jerusalem every year I can only assume it's the same here Target Turf Stadium Gloucester City this is pretty much the opposite of the last one it's looking pretty shiny as it was renovated in 2020 that shininess extends to the grass which is of the artificial variety that shouldn't come as much of a surprise considering the stadiums named after tiger Turf the loud is kinda interesting there's no seating in the center and a smaller stand on either side Edgar Street Hereford this is one of the oldest grounds in the league and as is often the case with older grounds that have slowly developed over the years there are several design quirks the ends are curved due to there being a track around the field in the early days the less Western stand is also kind of interesting the two tiers are stacked directly on top of each other due to there being a lack of room behind the stand to build upon lassimon Park Kettering town we have seen a few stadiums situated in the park this is basically just a paddock where they've painted some lines and set up an Eclectic array of pavilions stands Kebab Vans and corrugated iron shelters as you can see by the signage Kettering Town shares this ground with Burton Park Wanderers and I don't blame them for wanting to play here that Kebab van has lamb beef chicken and pork you don't see that every day agbora Stadium kidderminster harriers well this is a completely normal Stadium I mean it looks like it's in good condition and I'm sure the amenities are top-notch but it's kind of boring compared to some that we've seen so far a seating along the sidelines terracing at the ends pretty much every spectator is sheltered from the rain this ground did include a running track back in the day but there's been nothing but right angles all around since the 90s [Music] the walks King's Lynn town it gets that interesting name due to the fact that it's situated on the boundary of a park known as the walks presumably because you can visit there if you want to go for a run it does make for quite a tranquil setting but don't get things Twisted with a capacity of over 8 000 the walks is the largest stadium in the league the atmosphere must be well I was going to say electric but maybe just static electricity new windmill grounds Leamington the building of a windmill was a big deal back in the day so I can see why they would name it ground after one I mean without windmills the air would be perfectly still and we wouldn't be able to power wind turbines which in turn creates the electricity that makes windmills turn the circle of life you see oh yes the stadium well it promises more than it delivers there's not a windmill in sight so I don't even want to talk about it to be honest [Music] Lincoln Road Peterborough Sports when the surrounding houses dwarf the largest stand at your Stadium you know you're not going to be the next Manchester City at least not anytime soon they're not even the biggest Club in Peterborough but we knew that already this is the sixth tier after all at least the stadium looks like it's in decent condition that's more than you can say about some of the grounds in this league Flamingo Land Stadium are you going to Scarborough athletic that's the last one I swear oh and in case you were wondering Flamingo Land is a nearby theme park of sorts with flamingos being the main attraction the stadium is the newest in the league having opened in 2017. certainly looks the part however construction didn't exactly stop in 2017. a new stand was added to the Eastern side which previously just looked like a nature reserve merseyrail Community Stadium Southport fittingly merseyrail Community Stadium has plenty of rails about the place I don't think these are the types of rails that merseyrail deals in but they are rails nonetheless after the formerly blue seats in the main stand were replaced with these yellow and black ones a few years back matching the aforementioned rails and fencing this place is looking pretty well-rounded the brewery field spennymore town in case you were wondering the stadium has that name because it sits on the site of the former spennymore Brewery foreign [Music] [Music] as always I'll try to pick a favorite well I think it'd have to be Mill Farm the first one we saw great little ground if you're new please consider subscribing thanks for watching have a good one [Music]
