Nassim Nicholas Taleb Sees Greater Risks Than Nuclear War

nassim most people would describe nuclear war as the greatest tail risk of all nuclear is very bad but that's not the biggest risk out there because nuclear is confined to a region okay first of all I don't think we gonna have nuclear war with anyone and people are crying out about nuclear so a nuclear and error like Fukushima was bad it's on by the water worst second you can think of this Fukushima the military and I were friends because we talk about risk and we were comparing the risk they said you killed vastly more people with a biological agent or by poisoning the water supply the new wood was a dirty bomb in New York and they're gone will kill a lot of people of course and it's horrible thing and you know and we'll definitely they will make sure it doesn't happen but the biggest risk is not the nuclear it is big nuclear is it's too much on the radar screen the thing that's gonna harm you with the thing that's not on the radar screen so how should people then be thinking about Kim jong-un and North Korea this I don't know I'm not following it to me because I mean you know if you have I don't if you wants to commit suicide or something so I don't spend time on this so it makes my life easy okay I I mean of course we're gonna have cyber rattling saber-rattling but I I just don't think I don't know the details but you don't think we're gonna have nuclear war even if we're clear what do you mean nuclear war with China no with Korea it wouldn't be warned I mean how can you call that a war think about it is this and let's say we have a thousand wolves all right attacking one wolf is it war or you have to give another name because the outcome for one side is is is so catastrophic exactly and it's very small and it's a tiny on a faraway doesn't have anything to reach us one thing let me let me tell you we are very good with that kind of stuff nuclear war we we know the risks were very good at something the nuclear if something were good at the military's good at here and Russia as the nuclear what we're horrible turned out to be is fighting militias terrorists that were not good at finding Isis look how long it took me you know you know not very highly skilled you know analytics okay so we can't fight them okay so that's the problem the problem is the the militias not something structured like country like a country or large a nation-state exactly nation-states are easier to deal with you can read them even the things you can counter them you know the limits you know they're gonna do to you
